Dharmalars: Catch 22

On a very laid back episode of the Dharmalars, Ralph and Ben discuss the latest Desmond episode the way that they used to talk about Lost, before the podcast. They do the entire show without the aid of taking down notes or watching the episode a second time. Jimmy discusses Desmonds Theme in the Lost Score segment and we get some really great listener theories on the You All Everybody segment.

trevor, i'm with you on that one. what the heck it is, i got no idea.

and sylar has got to go. kill that jerk!

I'm curious about that too Trevor. Are they trying to be really Lost-ish, and leave us clues? Or are they just trying to leave an open mystery that will be unfolded later? I'm going to have to watch it again to see if I can figure that one out.

I don't think Sylar should go. I mean sure, everyone thinks he should die because he's killing good guys. But you can't have a show about superheroes without having a supervillian in it as well.

I'm all for Sylar either evolving as a character or being defeated by season's end.

I'd kind of like to see Sylar have all of his memories wiped out by the Haitian at the end of the season and then have our Heroes wrestle with the issue of what to do with him.

I also wonder what will happen with Peter next season. Do they keep him uber powerful or somehow push the reset on his abilities?

Almost everything that happened last night left me feeling like SAVING THE WORLD was going to be wrapped up by the end of May sweeps leaving it open to go anywhere next year.

If my damned right middle finger doesn't hurry up and heal I'm going to go crazy. It hurts everytime I type with an i.

Just temporaryly replace all the letter "i"s with a y, so you can type wyth your yndex fynger yndstead of your myddle fynger. Yt takes some gettyng used to, but Y'm sure yt'll help a lyttle.

Kimberley and Aimee, have you guys seen this week's promo for The Office? It looks like hilarity!
Peter Petrelli, Sawyer, Jim Halpert, Gob Bluth, Coach Eric Taylor- my latest tv crushes
and Matt Saracen if I were 10 years younger.

skynyrd rules!!!

wait... what?

aimee is lost said...

Steph, are you talking about the one that shows Jim dressed up as Dwight? I saw that for like ten seconds and almost sharted.

memphish said...

Speakyng of Skynyrd, Y have a questyon for the fylm mysyc types around here (translated:I have a question for the film music types around here.) It's too hard to type ys instead of "i"s. I'm playing through the pain.

Anyway, I watched The Departed this weekend and was confused by the repeated playing of Patsy Cline's Sweet Dreams and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Saturday Night Special" in South Boston. Being a Jimmy in Seattle-colyte I noticed the music of course. Anyone know anything about it?

aimee, speaking of people sharting themselves, did you see your Number 1 fan today?

actually, with all the sharting going on, i guess he'd be your number 2 fan.

Stephanie said...

Holli, from what I understand, that's just how Marty does it. Did you like the movie? I loved it but I'm not sure if other chicks would dig all the violence. Another crush- Billy Costigan.

memphish said...

Yes Steph hubby and I both liked it and became pretty immune to the f-word by the 2nd hour. The ending was surprising. I loved Marky Mark's character.

palmer, I have to take exception to your statement that skynyrd rules. It might just be that I'm SICK to death of them. Anytime Alabama is on tv (which is not that often), we are subjected to the same frakkin song.

Stephanie said...

Marky Mark was amusing, but I thought he was the weakest of the ensamble. I'm in the minority. Alec Baldwin had the best line, talking about loving the Patriot Act.:)

Yes, I did see my "#2" guy this morning, and it was no different than yesterday. He went on about how excited he was from yesterday; I've never actually had someone gush about meeting me, and I'm a nobody, which is why I find it so amusing.

He seriously asked me if I would meet with him someday and sit with him for a few hours when we both didn't have to work so that he could talk to me about Lost. He was standing behind the Starbucks counter, so I couldn't tell if he had a boner. Or a butcher knife.

PalmerEldritch said...

referencing lynyrd skynyrd was just an excuse to type Ys like Holli. although, in moderation, they are enjoyable.

PalmerEldritch said...

aimee, that's mildly creepy. but somewhat endearing. maybe...

is he going to listen to the podcast now?

memphish said...

Don't pick on the guy too hard Aimee. He's just excited to know there are real people, not just us imaginary internet ones, that like LOST and can discuss it other than to make comments about Kate's thong and Sawyer's hair. Wait, we talk about things like that. Never mind.

Is sharting when you fart and simultaneously shout really loud to try to cover it up?

I get frustrated by some of the choices made by characters in Heroes. Like wanting them to pull out the shard (or at least check Peter for cause of death), or wanting Mohinder to kill Sylar real quick before he left. I mean, it's not like Peter was going to get any more dead. And I even thought the chameleon hottie made a mistake by allowing Jessikki to see her "real" face. I would not want that crazy lady to know I had anything to do with taking her son.

Regarding Linderman's power, I don't know if it's actually resurrection. He just called it healing. Maybe the plant was just a little wilted, not all the way dead? Because having someone that can bring people back from the dead, and two characters that can heal almost anything, and one character with the power of illusion is going to make any real drama pretty hard to believe.

aimee is lost said...

Oh, I'm not picking on him. I thought it was cute. Slightly overwhelming, but still cute. He's seems like the young naive type, which is why it was cute in the semi-harmless kind of way.

Anonymous said...

Ben, that concerns me a little bit too. I wonder if they're going to kind of write themselves into a corner, with so many strong powers out there. I'm interested to see what the limits of Lindrmann's power is, if it's just healing or if he can bring back from the dead.

Does anyone think that Number #1 sharted when he saw Aimee walk into Starbucks again today?

Jimmy said...

I know I sharted when I saw how big this thread has become!!!

Guys...we need a different system I think :(

PalmerEldritch said...

trevor, i totally read that "Number 1" to myself in a Patrick Stewart voice.

anyhow, if Number 1 sharted himself, then he should be known as Number 2. that's all i'm saying.

heroes talk, yeah. too many characters are potentially way too powerful. luckily, they don't use their powers very intelligently so it's still entertaining.

memphish said...

Get us a show Jimmy. Then we'll get a new thread.

Holli

aimee is lost said...

If they used their powers intelligently right off the bat (in season 1) there would be no room for character development and the show would have no room for growth.

memphish said...

I made this for the Charlie-centric episode.

New TLI thread is up!

I'm new to the blogspot, so I'll throw in my 2 cents as a newbie on the format (since Jimmy brought it up!). When I first checked this place out, found it to be a little cumbersome, especially since I have to log in every time that I want to post a comment. But once I figured out what was gling on, I really started to like it. I hang out on other forums too, both Lost-related and non-Lost related, and they're so huge and there's so many different conversations going on that it's impossible to follow what's going on. Here, there's basically a new blog posted every day, and if you miss a day or two, you can just jump right on in with the new topic. Also, I think that forums get a little bit 'cliquey', where you find a topic thread that has, like, 900 pages and it's the same 6 or 7 people posting all day long. I don't get that feel here. So, anyway, I say keep as it ... there's nothing wrong with a forum, and I like them too, but this is something a little bit different and, imo, a lot of fun.
