rolph, i'm looking forward to transformers. it better not suck. i'm psyched that they got the original voice of Prime (aka Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh) for it. if it does suck, then i'm getting The Transformers Movie on DVD immediately to make up for it.

I'm very excited to listen. I have a right a paper for English class....so I'll listen to this while I do it.

And Ralph, based on all the images/trailers I've seen for that movie....it looks fucking insane. In the best way possible, of course.

hey yinz,
downloading now.

Orson Welles was in Transformers. He was Unicron, the planet devouring planet. everything i've seen about the movie is looking good even though i'm not the biggest Michael Bay fan.

now that i've crossed both Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars off my list, i've been devouring the season DVDs of Homocide. The writing, especially the dialogue, is very theatrical but it's still quite good. Fans of The Wire, one of my all time favorite shows, should definitely check it out since it's sort of its predecessor.

looking forward to listening to TLI on my bus home.

andrew.

Sir William Osler, MD said...

I too, listen to TLI before Jay and Jack nowadays. (Except I don't make cookies that often.) The J&J Monday show can't hold a candle to The Lost Initiative ladies.

And also, everytime I look at Steph's avatar, I think it's a man before it registers that it's Nikki. She just looks really ugly in that picture.

memphish said...

Sorry, I misspelled capitol. But in this case, most in the region wouldn't notice.

Holli

Sir William Osler, MD said...

Actually, you spelled it right the first time.

Capitol refers to the actual building where the government meets, where capital is the town.

memphish said...

Thanks Colin. Guess I'm too smart/dumb for my own good. I thought the one with the a was just like a captial letter or capital that I could invest. Sorry to drag the blogspot down with grammar, but I'm not really that interested in the b-ball game.

good job, ladies. another highly enjoyable podcast. props for bringing out the Bel Div DeVoe but let's get some New Edition sometime. i'm sure you'll have a chance to use "Cool It Now" next week.

Jordan said...

Finally finished the entire podcast. Loved it ladies. LOVED IT!

And I have to chime with with all y'all who said that Steph's accent is to die for. Love it!

And I really like how you guys rehashed the week that was here on the blogspot. Not only was it funny, I got such a strong sense of community. Awww. It's kinda like when you get drunk with old friends and you tell stories about the good old days and how crazy you used to be. And then once you tell the story you realize that it wasn't that great a story, but you're all drunk so it doesn't matter. Good stuff!

Well done Luscious Ladies of Lost™. You both get check pluses for this week.

MB said...

Finally, back to update my earlier comments (what a night!) -
LOVED the podcast this week, and I totally concur with Jordan that the blog section was hi-fa-rickin-larious because it felt like I was having drinks & talking about all the crazy shit me and my friends just pulled the night before. Great stuff - thanks K&A (which, as I wrote in my iTunes review of TLI stands for Kick Ass)!

MB (and anyone else interested in doing a spoiler segment for us) - I really only used spoilerfix.com to retrieve spoiler news because they post the spoilers from basically everywhere - DarkUFO also has a spoiler page, but those get posted at spoilerfix as well. So if you're willing to record yourself once a week basically reading the shit from that page, send us a demo!

I can't believe I don't remember the Ewok song either. But I loooved that Kim actually sang it for me. Another priceless moment.

Andrew, I was a huge fan of Homicide when it was originally on TV, and have some of the seasons on DVD. I loved how they took Detective Munch (Richard Belzer) from that show and moved the same character over the Law & Order SVU because he was my favorite.

Nipples.

PalmerEldritch said...

Detective Pembleton was the man. And... Bruce Campbell guested (in a two-parter) as a crooked cop or something. Fantastic show. I'd love to see Andre Braugher on LOST flipping out on someone the way Frank Pembleton used to.

Anonymous said...

Listened on the commute this morning and I have some time at lunch to tell y'all that this podcast was funnier than the DrunkCast. "Nipples - there, I said it!" Loved the new section. Loved the porn-names banter. Loved the Island Rumble Preview.

I'm pretty sure I said this was one of the top 3 endings of Lost, rather than best episodes, and I stand by that.

aimee is lost said...

Elias, I think you hit the nail on the head. Great point. It was a fantastic ending for an episode, but "on the hole" it wasn't the best.

Knut is the man but Leo is way too preachy.

Speaking of global warming, are we getting excited for things heating up between Kate and Juliet in the Dharma Whipped Topping Island Smackdown or what?

/mmm... globes...

Jon said...

I think that when Ben and Juliet were in the Pearl it was after the drug plane had crashed to the ground, right? So I don't think they were saying that Tom should push it off the cliff or anything...but maybe I'm wrong.

By the way, this podcast rocks. I wonder what other Lost podcasts the people that post here listen to. I tried out some new (to me) podcasts the other day and they absolutely blow (I won't name names). I usually just listen to Dharmalars, TLI, and Jay & Jack. Like the NYC listener who emailed, I found the Dharmalars through J&J, and TLI through Dharmalars. Anyway, some of these other jokers with podcasts are really terrible...am I the only one who thinks so?

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, there have been some very boring podcasts out there. sorry, random internetters. i'm sure there are other cool ones but i've limited my LOST podcasts to J&J, TLI, and Dharmlars. oh! i also listen to Delta Park Project Gets Lost since it's usually only 20 minutes or so. i have been pondering taking it off the rotation.

memphish said...

Jonathan, I've listened to most of the LOST podcasts and my favorites are in no particular order, TLI, Dharmalars, J&J and LostCasts.

I sometimes listen to Black Rock, I listen to The Lost Community (though they're starting to go the route of Gen. Speaking), and most of the time to the Lost Chicks.

I've stopped listening to Generally Speaking because they were wasting too much of my time talking about themselves in a way I did not find amusing.

I don't like Cranky Fanatic's live podcast because it's too much of people talking over each other and stops and starts.

I don't really like Delta Park Project anymore either because they just don't seem like they like the show anymore.

And I always listen to the Official Podcast.

Sorry for the book; hope it helps though.

PalmerEldritch said...

Transmission (, The) was awesome though. definitely miss Ryan and Jen.

PalmerEldritch said...

Holli, good catch about the OLP. I listen to that too. That wacky Cuselof.

memphish said...

You can still read Ryan and Jen's stuff each week post-episode at their site.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

I would also listen to a Kim based podcast about the Ewoks cartoon. Or the two Ewok movies (Battle for Endor and Caravan of Courage).

/wilford brimley

Jon said...

Oh yeah, I listen to Lostcasts and the Official Lost podcast also. I tried out the Lost Community and hated it. They kept referencing other Lost podcasts I've never listened to. I think that there are two factions of podcasts. The cool ones (what we all listen to) and then the ugly stepchildren (you know who I'm talking about).

aimee is lost said...

Jonathan, you bring up a good point. I checked it out and you are correct:

- Boone and the Beechcraft fell from the cliff on day 41.
- Paulo went into the Pearl station (and overheard Ben & Jules)on Day 49.
- Eko & Charlie burn the Beechcraft on Day 50 (the next day!)
- Eko & Locke don't move the Beechcraft and find the Pearl station until Day 65.

Jon said...

Thanks for confirming that, Aimee. So now I wish they would've shown how Paulo got down there after the plane had crashed. Maybe it didn't crash right on top of the entrance...and then Tom (per Ben's command) used his amazing girth to push it on top of it the next day.

aimee is lost said...

Tom would have had to move fast because Eko & Charlie were back there the day after Paulo/Ben/Julie were, setting the funeral pyre for Yemi.

PalmerEldritch said...

Tom put a yoke on the Smoke Munster and had it drag the plane.

Or he just got Picket and the gang to help him out...

One of the two.

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee, when Ben Linus tells you to move a Nigerian plane, you MOVE THE NIGERIAN PLANE. No dilly-dallying allowed. Otherwise, he'll use his creepy bushbaby eyes to freak you the hell out.

PalmerEldritch said...

ha! 69. i win.

aimee is lost said...

I find the bushbaby eyes to be Ben's most irresistable feature.

memphish said...

I'll bet Tom pushed the plane and IMed Michael at the same time. Michael gets his first Walt IM on Day 49 doesn't he? Then he gets it again on Day 52 according to LostPedia. Where did that message come from? Is there another entrance to the Pearl or is Tom busy shoving the plane around on Day 52 as well?

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee, Ben Linus thinks you're cute too. Will you go out with him? Check yes or no.

/digs Aimee's cool hair

aimee is lost said...

(x) Yes

( ) No

PalmerEldritch said...

Uh-oh. You two are totally going to start a book club, have a bad breakup, have book club members pissed off at you for choosing Stephen King books, and then you'll get branded and be stuck putting the moves on a guy with a coconut head!

aimee is lost said...

Ha ha, jokes on you! I'm already married to one. In fact, that's where I got the term coconut head (Brian has a Jack-sized head). It was in self defense though; he tells me I have a huge head.

Stephanie said...

These left-wing nut jobs are being very manipulative using Knutt in that manner.
Aimee, George Lucas is a money-grubbing bastard. He re-edited ROTJ and replaced Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen so the hard-core nerds will buy more DVDs. I, obviously, am not hard-core since I'm waiting for the complete 6 to be released together. It looks like that won't ever happen.
Now I know where I know Bruce Campbell from. Hurcules. He was the guy that always stole the show.
Jonathan, all you need is JandJ, these three cool podcasts and maybe the OLP so you can make fun of Lindeluse.
Holli, I agree about DPP. They sound like they're doing the podcast begrudgingly.

Anonymous said...

the Ewok song that I loved at the end of Jedi was replaced with some weird music

Jordan said...

Like Aimee, I didn't remember the Ewok song. Then when I saw this, it all came back to me.

Ewoks Theme

Thanks girls. That song will be stuck in my head all day now.

Steph, you're right on Bruce Campbell being on Hercules. He was aslo on Xena I think. Both shows were produced by Sam Raimi, the dude who directed the Spiderman movies. Raimi and Campbell were childhood friends and got their starts making the Evil Dead movies. Bruce Campbell was also in the great Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

PalmerEldritch said...

I think, in reality, it makes more sense for Whiney Anakin to be in that final scene. That's the Anakin we knew for two whole movies and the pre-Evil Anakin, not the old rubbery dude we saw for a minute and a half. That said, Whiney Anakin is freakin' whiney. Argh...

That said, the majority of the changes to the Original Prequel blow goats.

Ah, yes, Bruce Campbell played Autolycus the King of Thebes. Fans of mythology will remember the name of Autolycus as the grandfather of Odysseus. Autolycus is a badass name because it literally means "Lone Wolf" which is almost as cool as "Airwolf."

/Jan-Michael Vincent

the description of that item was funnier when there was also a pic of candy corn in the box. oh well. you cant win them all

PalmerEldritch said...

i don't know, ralph. the complete lack of candy corn after that description was rather amusing.

Just wish it and maybe with the help of Richard Eyeliner Alpert, it will be so.

Big Beautiful Smackdown

which is what I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. Honestly, if it even goes half-a-round with Kuliet I'll have a little spring in my step.

or somewhere else.

I hope the rumble in the jungle doesn't end on a lame note - I want there to be a clear winner.

Benjamin said...

If only it were Richard "Eyeliner" Halpert, then there could be yet another Office/Lost connection.

I think I would post more on a BBS than I do here, but it appears I am in a minority of one. Nothing ventured, I guess.

Kim, have we seen a picture of you in the 'Lars hoodie? Because if not, you better kick down.

My bets on Kate. I think Juliet is getting a mouthful of dirt before it's over.

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee, the winner will be the audience. Clear and simple. Especially once they move on to the pillow fight stage.

Ben, sorry about your Balki Bartokomous Syndrome but at least you have E.D.

I'm trying to dial down my expectations for the Kate and Juliet Smackdown.
When we last saw them, Kate was in handcuffs and Juliet thought she was going to leave on the submarine. How does Juliet and Kate end up being cuffed together?

PalmerEldritch said...

Steph, how do Kate and Juliet end up being handcuffed together? They let Jack use the wish-fulfilling magic box.

MB said...

Steph,
I won't, of course mention spoilers or clips here, but there are a few good clips at
http://tv.yahoo.com/lost/show/36617/upcoming;_ylt=AveiCXId3haoz64Aib37ynmZo9EF

They don't answer your question precisely but they do provide some setup

memphish said...

Jack used the box or Palmer and MB?
If Dharma whipped topping turns up that would solve that mystery.

I'm backing Juliet for this fight - she's got the reach on Kate.

PalmerEldritch said...

If I had access to the Magic Box, I would conjur up some Ewoks to live in the jungle just so Kim would have to sing the E-e-e-woks song again on the next podcast...

and then Kate and Juliet would have the Rumble in the Jungle.

/super crappy Droids Theme

Sir William Osler, MD said...

Well, I'm leaning towards Kate, mainly because she has her left hand in the handcuff, while Juliet has her right hand.

That shit's gonna be crazy.

Anonymous said...

isn't Juliet southpaw?

Sir William Osler, MD said...

....maybe? I have no idea.

PalmerEldritch said...

Kate is the Starbuck of LOST. She's the best at everything and can do anything a guy can do only better. Kate would whup on Juliet. As long as only Season 1 Ethan had super strength... but if it's some kind of Other thing that they have super powers, then Juliet could whup her. But I think that the writers forgot about Ethan's monstrous strength from Season 1. So, Kate wins.

Except, of course, that it's a not a real fight, it's funtime happy wrastlin'.

Would the Ewoks be watching the girl fight and hurling in the occasional dirtball?

My money's on Kate, but then I love Kate and hate Juliet. Still think Dr. Coconut Head will screw it up though.

How LOST will end. Jack will be the last person to have sex on the island and then be shot in the stomach. Vincent will lick his face as he dies. The End.

Like Steph, I too am trying to keep my expectations for the "rumble" to a minimum. If I've learned anything from the hype filled promos for shows like Lost and Heroes, it's that they aren't always what they appear. Just what the network people want you to think is gonna happen. IE - Jin speaking English, Eko falling to his death, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if moments after the promo ends with Kate hitting Juliette, Kate and Jules have a heart to heart and make up. Hopefully if that's the case, they at least kiss. ;) Serious though. I'm not getting my hopes up too high because it could never meet all the hot scenarios I've already thought up in my head. lol.

It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where all the men kept getting excited at the possibility of cat fights. Elaine asked why guys are so into cat fights, and Jerry replied, "Because there's always the distinct possibility that they might accidentally kiss." hahaha. Ain't that the truth.

And not that my opinion matters too much on the subject as I'm pretty new. But I very much like this blogspot as opposed to a BBS. I frequent a couple boards, and nowhere have I found near the camaraderie that I have here. I think a big reason for that is that everybody is having one big conversation all the time as opposed to segmented mini ones involving just a few. It's like having a family dinner as opposed to everybody eating in their rooms. Yeah, it can get tricky catching up if you aren't around for a while. But that's apart of the magic imo. The goofy randomocity of this place is one of it's strengths. That is along with all the super cool lostadorks.

Anonymous said...

- i think there's a charm to the blog comment format because then you read everyone's posts whereas with a b-board you pick and choose subjects. to be honest, i'd probably skip topics like porn star names since it's a pretty well traveled subject in internetica but i enjoyed reading everyone's names anyway.

- currently there are new blog posts:
* Wednesday - pre-episode excitement
* Wednesday night - post-episode unravel
* Saturday - Dharmalars podcast
* Monday - Lost Initiative podcast
* Tuesday - Expanded Jimmy (!that's what she said!)
considering the number of posts in the last few weeks, maybe there need to be a couple of more blog events to post around.

- i love hearing Kim say RAZZLE DAZZLE.

- i know nothing about tomorrows episode except that Kate & Juliette run wet-shirted through jungle and it's Kate's flashback. Whatever else happens will be a complete surprise! Kate is going to wipe the jungle floor with Mrs. Claus!

Stop speaking in your crazy English code-language! I can only understand references from Dr Who, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served? (shudder), Keeping Up Appearances (shudder again), or AbFab (ugh!). Maybe some Blake's 7, the Avengers, or The Prisoner.

Fuck, Dude, I remember Poldark! And back in the early 70's there was a huge clash in our house. Did Mum get to watch "The Brothers", or did Me, Nick and Dad get to watch "Planet of the Apes" (the tv series).

"Are you being served!" Tragic British TV! I'm so glad I'm Americanized now.
