Dharmalars: Left Behind

The Dharmalars return, this time with Engineer Jeff, to bring you their points of view on episode 3x15 of LOST. Jimmy has fallen sick this week and will not be able to put out a segment. Hopfully he will be able to make his triumphant return for his special Monday show. Get well soon, bro. We have a few more calls for Producer Ryan's going away and some great call for the You All Everybody Segment.

Get well soon Jimmy. I hope Producer Jeff giggles. And I hope this finally gets Rump Shaker out of my head.

he does not giggle. we were either not on our A-Game or he just held it in as to not ruin the riveting conversation.

Calling Jeff Engineer Jeff made me think of this.

So far I'm enjoying the podcast and I can't believe Jeff didn't giggle during the STD conversation.

Don't get me totally wrong, I like the fact that Juliet is on the show; she's working out much better than Ana LuLu did. But I wouldn't trust her any farther than I can throw her over my shoulder.

it looked like he was trying to hold it in. i am sure if he keeps doing the show, he will warm up to us. i hope he sticks around, cause he is showing up with us to comic con. he might as well stick with the show. we'll see

i submitted my first podcast to iTunes (720podcast.blogspot.com) how long does it normally take for them to approve it?

Great podcast again brothas, shame about Jimmy. I thought youse guys might try a music segment.

Especially liked the story about that poor waitress.

Ralph- said...

i thought about doing a segment, but i dont think that i would be able to do it justice. a lot of kates theme, a little bit of lockes theme. pretty standard music in this episode. i am sure we will get some good cues next week

memphish said...

It didn't seem to me there was that much music in the episode. Lots of the Vertigo-inspired Kate's theme, but not much more. No music in the fight scenes. I was hoping they'd use the music from Jack's fights with Ethan, but no.

Andrew, downloading as we speak. I always meant to ask if there was a place where we could hear your show. I will subscribe as soon as it's available on iTunes.

Not interested in Grindhouse. I would like to hear how The Lookout is.

Jordan said...

That's a cool list Steph. The only problem is that I've found that with the more cool places you visit in the world, the more you want to see. But that shouldn't deter you from seeing and doing as much as you can.

I spent 5 months backpacking throughout Europe a couple years ago and have been itching to travel again ever since. I went to London, Paris, French Riviera, the Swiss Alps, Vienna, Berlin, Nuremberg, Venice, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Sicily, Athens, Cyprus, and Cairo. It was incredible, but at the same time made my boring life back at home all the lamer. The day I came home I wanted to go back right away. And in the 2 years since all the traveling I've done was to Kansas City and Chicago to watch the Seahawks play. Missouri is nice and all, but it's not exactly Paris. lol.

Traveling is the coolest thing you can ever do in my personal opinion. There's so much out there to see and experience. So many people in the States never venture outside their state, let alone the country, and could care less. To me the thrill of getting outside of your comfort zone is incredible. You hit on one of my favorite subjects if you haven't noticed. lol.

And oh yeah, if it comes down to choosing between Oregon and Washington, I highly suggest you go with us up north. Not only is it more beautiful, there's a ton more to do here. But I'm biased. ;)

Jordan said...

Yes, Hot Fuzz looks good. If it's anything like Shaun of the Dead, it will be outstanding.

Why wouldn't it be released in Alabama? Do they not take kindly to British films down there? lol.

memphish said...

Jordan, I agree about the travel stuff. My husband and I both love it. I'd much rather spend my money on travel than house things or clothes. As a result my house is half put together and I don't have a new Easter outfit, but I've been to Europe 6 times, Australia once, and lived in Japan. I've also been to Canada, Mexico and the Caymans and about 40 of the States.

When I win the lottery (power of positive thinking) one of the first things I'm going to do is visit every baseball park in MLB combining 2 of my favorite things, travel and baseball.

Jordan, I'm hesitant to say it, but I'm a Braves fan. I have to say I've earned it and am not a johnny-come-lately bandwagoner though. I grew up 1 1/2 hours from the old stadium. We used to pay $2 to sit in the outfield and yell at the Right Fielder in the years of 100 loss seasons. I've got the bright blue cap from cap night to prove it.

On the plus side, my parents got to go to 3 World Series games in '96 when the Braves manage to take a 2-0 lead against the Yankees and blow it losing all 3 games in Atlanta. Given their current payroll, I don't hold out much hope for them this year. I wish Turner would buy the team back.

Memphis is a Cardinals town. We're only 5 hours from St. Louis and we have their AAA franchise. I've still managed to infect son and husband with Brave mania though.

Going to check Steph's links now.

Hey peoplz,
OUt of town at the moment but literally was having BSW (blospot withdrawal).

Going back up the thread:
Steph - Must support everyone's enouragement of travelling. I have been a number of places including Australia/New Zealand, Britain, Europe, Bali, and Latvia (my mothers home-country). It sounds simple, but it always amazes me how there's something unique about every place on Earth, and it makes each place interesting, even for a day maybe, if you look for it. And if you ever make it up to the Northwest, give a ring - we can show you around. However...

Jordan - re: Washington is better - don't make me drive 3 hours north to deliver a bitchslap (I am of course totally joking - I love Seattle). But I will give a plug for Portland and Oregon, it is an f-ing gorgeous town and skiing, the beach, the Columbia Gorge, hiking, and about a zillion other things are all within a half-hour of town.

So, Steph - you've got friends in Washington and Oregon.

Palmer - You didn't like Simon Pegg in that Dr. Who episode? I thought he was one of the better elements in a kind of lackluster story.

Boy I'm just Mr. disagreement today - sorry. It is actually really nice to catch up on the blog. Talk to you all later!

You know what show I'm really starting to like? 30 Rock. It was just ok at first, but they've fine tuned the show a good deal since the beginning. It's pretty stinking funny. The entire NBC Thursday night comedy lineup is outstanding.

Anonymous said...

I've never watched Wedding Bells, I didn't watch Six Degress after the first 3 episodws, but I really liked the Black Donnellys. Does NBC think people who watch TV are retarded? First they took of Studio 60...whatever, the show wasn't the greatest ok, they replaced it with The Black Donnellys, and now they're replacing that with The Real Wedding Crashers??? I hate it. They're taking away the art of TV and jobs of the people who create good television. Writers, set designers, musicians, etc, etc...for Reality TV. There are a few Reality shows that I watch--but The Real Wedding Crashers??? I hate the real motive of reality TV. (Save money), NBC must really need the extra cash they'll be saving by putting this piece of shit on the air.

PalmerEldritch said...

mb, i'm pretty sure my problem was with the part written for him not the actor. don't worry.

steph, that's hilarious that people started calling the tear gas company. "tell me what you know about DHARMA!!"

New Episodes Online Only Mondays 9pm ET

Jordan said...

Totally agree with ya Kim. I loathe reality television. But I have gotta give NBC some props this year. Like I said before, their Thursday night comedy lineup takes the cake. Heroes is awesome. And I don't know if any of you have seen the new Jeff Goldblum show, Raines or not. I'm not a big fan of the overdone detective genre. But I actually quite like it. Although it's been put on Friday night, which is never a good sign. Yeah, the lamo wedding crasher show looks like crap and I'm already sick of the commercials for that, "Thank God You're Here" show. But I'll take NBC over FOX any day of the week. I hate FOX so much. The people who run FOX have to be morons. They cancel amazing shows like Arrested Development, yet they keep crap like Til Death and The War at Home around. Idiots.

Stephanie said...

All these cancellations are making me leery of getting hooked on a new show. It seems like Friday Night Lights might make it afterall. I think I'll check it out. I loved the movie- with Ali Larter's whipped cream bikini. Remember that?

New TLI today, Kimberley? Sorry I didn't call in this week. I'll make it up to you. I have an idea for a game. It's gonna be da bomb.

Anonymous said...

Aimee and I did record today. I'll be editing some tonight and the rest tomorrow. Hopefully the new ep will be up by tomorrow...evening? It's been a busy week. I was on "vacation" and I was at the most boring baby shower yesterday. eeeeeeesh.

Sorry about the TV cancelling rant thingy--it's just depressing that actual television is being cast aside for stupid reality shows based on stupid ideas. I this case a movie. Wedding Crashers was a funny movie because of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson--not the script. They adlib'd most of it....ugh. It's a wonder how any TV show gets to air.

Palmer thanks for the Black Donnelly's link. Too bad I can't watch any of the videos because I live in a country that isn't the US. Damn you Canada! ;)

memphish said...

Steph, I've loved Friday Night Lights this season. Of course being originally from podunk town Alabama where 4 days of my week every fall were absorbed in football, I could easily relate, but fear not football-phobes. The game in no way overwhelms the interpersonal relationships. I hope NBC will renew it, but if they don't, everyone should check out the DVDs when they come out or look for marathon airings on Bravo. At least some of the epis are on NBC.com, but I find them hard to watch there because of the shaky hand-held camera stuff they do a lot.

Can't wait for the podcast. Kim I hope Tiger Woods isn't too upset his namesake only finished 2nd in The Masters.

And Steph, pretty much every famous place in NOLA has re-opened.

PalmerEldritch said...

kim, don't you listen to the Dharmalars?! http://www.ninjaproxy.com for all your (ninja) proxy-ing needs. theoretically, you should be able to use ninjaproxy to make the NBC website think you're logging in from the US of A. i've never actually used it but it sounds like Ralph should be able to hook you up if you run into trouble.

i also don't know how many online-only episodes of Black Donnelly's there are going to be but the website uses a plural, so that's encouraging. right?

I watched the Sopranos. I won't spoil anything. But I will say that with only 9 ep's left, this seemed a bit of a filler episode and a weird way to start off the last series. It was still quite entertaining however. But still, I was hoping for more.

You get a good 15-20 minutes of comedy GOLD w/Craig and Dylan detailing their encounters with a man named Jonathan Bluestone who apparently (if he is to be believed, which would probably be unwise) has garnered a Bachelors Degree, 2 masters degrees (psychology and "Paranormal Studies") and has had jobs ranging from movie theater ticket-taker to army field medic and COLON SURGEON. Craig and Dylan's laughing incredulity at this man's claims is as funny as the claims themselves.

On top of Bluestone, you get a Aimee reference, a phone call from Ralph on his birthday last year, and the sad announcement that Dylan Speed was about to join the Navy (cue the Village People).

Sorry to rant so long about a random thing - but I truly have not laughed that hard in a long time. So if there's any way to make it available, I think it would be cool. I still (obviously) have the mp3 if it's needed. I don't have a good way to share it.

MB, I totally agree! Johnathan Bluestone are some of my favourite stories from MYOKOM w/ SaS days.

However, my favourite is when Dylan went to visit his grandmother at the old folks home.

BINGO at the old peoples home. And Craig said he wanted to go with next time.
