Dharmalars: Catch 22

On a very laid back episode of the Dharmalars, Ralph and Ben discuss the latest Desmond episode the way that they used to talk about Lost, before the podcast. They do the entire show without the aid of taking down notes or watching the episode a second time. Jimmy discusses Desmonds Theme in the Lost Score segment and we get some really great listener theories on the You All Everybody segment.

in a creepy chain of events, the dharmalars have a total of four hundred and twenty friends on their myspace page. interesting. it is as if it were planned that way, but it wasn't, i swear

For the first time in 3 weeks I didn't drunk call in. I'm sad. I am drunk right now, so this can be my sorta drunk call. Ralph, I'm glad we are myspace friends. Hooray for myspace. I'm drinking Grey Goose. I'm not rich, but I thought that I would be a good time to try it out. Someone just fell in the other room. I hope they're ok. I'm going to end this here. Later Dharmalars, and everyone of the Scott and Steve Blogspot!

Ben, I know you never come here so I don't even know why I'm putting this here. I thought the same thing about The Big Lebowski. I googled 420 because I thought surely I had a misunderstanding of what it actually was. Nope.

Casey, I thought of you last night when I was watching the Braves and they showed the Red Sox score. Congrats on snagging a ball. We need details.

It's Sat. morning and mini-me is at the lake with his granddad, hubby, like all good doctors is on the golf course, and I have my coffee and my Dharmalars. Life is good.

It's been long since i've listened to the official lost podcast. Them be interesting, home girl?

I've seen it and it's a classic. Remade as Sorcerer by William Friedkin, which I'm downloading at the moment.

The original is in French and can be downloaded too.

Steph, I've got to go help assemble the patio furniture that I've been forced to shop for for the past two days but before I go...

Did you ever weigh in on Pesmond vs. Jakatawyiet? Do you prefer the Desmond/Penny storyline to the Jack/Kate/Saywer/Juliet stuff? So far, most of the men on the board seem to prefer the Pesmond romance. Is this a guy thing or do you prefer it as well?

Elias, does Montand have only one arm in that movie? Also, three or more arms would be worth mentioning.

elias said...

Yves Montand is the main actor and as far as I can remember he had the standard number of limbs attached.

Stephanie said...

Palmer, I knew I could count of you. Desmond's character is intriguing, but Penny doesn't interest me in the least. Jakatawyiet- I like the fact that Kate is pining for Jack, who is showing interest in Juliet. And I like the fact that Sawyer loves Kate so much that he'll settle for sloppy-seconds. The new and improved, romantic Sawyer is pretty hawt. What bothers me is Jack has pretty much giving his allegance to Juliet, whom he barely knows. That maybe the root of the contempt the other females seem to have for the new chick. He seems to be choosing her over the other survivors.
Elias, I'm not surprised you know of the movie. According to Gwineth, you're smarter than we are.
Wesh, the official dorks are somewhat entertaining. Very interesting to hear they just finished the script for the finale but they've been shooting it for 2 weeks. And to hear the no pants jokes and to hear Carlton say Fantastic! all the time. Sometimes it all gets old. Sometimes it's amusing.

elias said...

Hehe Steph - sorry to go against Fraulein Paltrow but the British are no more smart than Americans in my view. It just so happens that cinema is my strong suit.
Having said that I dislike most films.

PalmerEldritch said...

So, is Kate kind of a jerk for playing with Sawyer's feeling and whatnot? Or is the fact that he just likes to get it on a mitigating circumstance in her potential ho-bagginess?

memphish said...

Palmer, I hope the assembly goes well. I don't even have a girlfriend, yet I was forced (by myself) to work in the yard this weekend. I despise it, but in the choice between vacation and a yard guy, I pick vacation, thus I am the yard guy despite the injury to my bird finger that is making this hard to type.

Weighing in on the Pesmond vs. Jakatawyiet debate. I have to say that I do want Desmond and Penny to end up together because they have the more mature relationship that is struggling against giant odds, and the idea of being with your one true love is a romantic notion. But I'm not very invested in their romance given that we've had 3 hours out of 3 seasons to learn anything about it. I also will not be happy if it turns out that there are paralell timelines including one with Penny and Desmond happily ruling Widmore Enterprises with 6 kids. I hope TPTB clear these time issues up before the end of the season.

As for Jakatawyiet, I love that name though I can't say it or even type it but instead I've copied it and am pasting it. It has become so ridiculously soap opera convoluted that I'm sick of it. The only person acting with any sanity at this stage is Sawyer, so I wish for the sake of his on his sleeve heart that Kate could respond, but at this point she sees him as sloppy seconds. I think Kate still doesn't have a clue what she really wants, she just seems to want what she can't have.

One question for the blog in that department. When Sawyer walks in on Kate and she tells him that Jack saw them he says to her "I thought you told me the camera was busted." Why did Kate tell Sawyer this. The fact that the Others had turned off the power to Sawyer's cage back in "Every Man for Himself" should have shown Kate and Sawyer that they were being watched.

What I'd really like to see from Kate at this point is some huge double- or triple-cross that relates back to her breakfast on the beach with Ben. But TPTB keep insisting on making her a slutty, wussy girl instead of the tough chick of Season 1.

Sorry for the tome. Hopefully it will entertain Steph.

I preffer the pesmond storyline

I really could care less about jakatawyiet

Wesh said...

LOL yeah I remember those "Cartlon actually isn't wearing any pants right now" jokes :) Might catch up on the offical lost podcast then.

Stephanie said...

Holli, I am entertained, especially as I read your post as saying you didn't have a girlfriend yet. As in, you were expecting to have one.
Would Sawyer want Kate if she was really into him? I'm thinking he is only interested in her for the drama.
Yes palmer, we hate Kate for treating Sawyer that way.
Elias, I'm a budding film-snob also. Who the heck are those people that saw Norbit and Wild Hogs? Who finds that entertaining?

memphish said...

Holli - GLAD you mentioned the breakfast meeting between Ben and Kate. The whole season, it seemed so odd to me, that I've been waiting for some kind of reveal relating back to it, but I have been unable to glean anything from Kate's actions that would point to some kind of deal with Ben, or even that he communicated something to her that we didn't see which would have affected her actions. I guess maybe the scene was just to show how creepy Ben was - I don't know.

So, now I can share my story of the emergency tracheotomy without being afraid of losing my job and going to jail. Since after that lady was killed in New York, it's now my job to protect ignorant women from their abusive ex-husbands. Anyway, the paramedics brought in this HUGE guy that wasn't breathing. They couldn't get him intubated because his vocal chords were swollen together. The ER doc was pitching a huge fit because the emergency trach tray was missing that he had especially made for this situation. After what seemed like forever without moving any air into or out of this guy, the doc found blades and stuff and began cutting on this guy's throat. There was inadvertant bleeding and, as I already mentioned, popping of the trachea THREE times. With all his strength, pushed a trach tube into this guys neck. Still couldn't move air. Over thirty minutes passed. Finally, the doc called it. I'm so surprised I wasn't covered in blood. I was crying and praying to Jesus. I was shook up all afternoon. The worst experience of my working career. This guy couldn't have been over 50 years old. Very sad.

Casey:

Regarding Film scores: Scorsese's Taxi Driver is great, Requiem For A Dream and The Fountain are too (Clint Mansell is a genius), Brokeback Mountain has an excellent score (you'll know what I mean if you've seen the film), Lord of the Rings, of course, too.

Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List are among the best Steven Speilberg/John Williams collaborations -- speaking of whom, Superman: The Movie and Superman Returns have that bombastic, memorable quality that makes the Star Wars music so great.

Clint Eastwood is also a really good composer of sparse, evocative film music -- Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby might be some film of his you'd like to take a look at.

I'm sure others will have more suggestions for you.

HEROES RETURNS TONIGHT!!!!

I did the extremely lengthy version of the Myers-Briggs personality test a while ago, and I am also an INTJ. There are a lot of websites out there that list celebrity personality types and fictional character types.

Fictional INTJs: Gandalf, Severus Snape, Ben Linus, Oren Ishii, and some others I can't remember anymore.

I was talking to Craig about this while I was in OKC, and he had done it also (he's an ENTJ). Fictional ENTJs include Minerva McGonagal, The Bride, and Satan. You really can't beat Satan, so I think Craig wins.

AIMEE RETURNS ONE POST AGO!

aimee is lost said...

I had my first podcast fan encounter today! It was so cool!

I went to my Starbucks this morning, where I start every day, chatting and flirting with the barristas, who've actually become my friends, and one of the guys working there was different. I was chatting with him and sipping my latte, and he said my voice sounded familiar, and asked if I was on the radio or something. I said no, but I did have a podcast. He said "cool, what for?" and I said "Lost". He's like, "WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS? LIKE, LOST? THE TV SHOW? OH MY GOSH!" He's like, apparently obsessed with Lost. So I'm all nonchalant about it, and say, "yeah, Lost." He asked me the name of it and I told him. He said he listens to Jay & Jack, and I told him that I know Jay, and have been on his show before. So he had this curious look on his face, and asked when, and I said the Jater vs. Skater debate, and it all clicked then. I was the angry girl. Then he went NUTS with childlike enthusiasm.

He was like, freaking out, it was awesome. I had to get going, and he practically begged me to come back again. He said I totally made his day, and was so excited. I explained to him that I come there every morning and sit with the barristas for a while, & Sam the usual morning guy tried to calm him down as I walked out the door. It was awesomely cute.

So happy too that Heroes comes back tonight!

Stephanie said...

Aimee, I'm surprised you are a INTJ like me. That gives me hope I can become a bad-ass too. Congrats on becoming famous. Maybe you can get free coffee now.
I feel so much better with the healing power of SAS. You guys are awesome.
On to more important things- Who do you think is Sun's baby's daddy?
A Jin
B Jae Lee
C none of the above
I say C.

memphish said...

Where do I find out what famous people, real and fictional, are the same type as me? I'm an ISTJ.

I'm glad Heroes is back, but I can't say I've missed it or even remember exactly what was going on even though those last 2 episodes were really great.

I vote Jae Lee is Sun's Baby Daddy, but I think Sun will lie about it. Do you think they're going to the Staff to do an ultrasound to try to figure out DOC? If it's Jin's Sun should have been OTR on-Island assuming that a Jin baby DOC was after he returned from the raft and got the Hurley thumbs-up.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

haven't they been on the island for over three months? if it's Jae's baby then it'd be almost four months. right?

if she's almost four months pregant, should Sun be NOT extremely thin? is it time to have a baby-bump yet? i got no idea.

so, i think it's Jin's baby or something. but my official prediction:

Sun is pregnant with Smoke Munster, Jr.

PalmerEldritch said...

I found this handy guide, Holli.

I'm an ENTP (at least today) which is a MAD SCIENTIST!

Anonymous said...

memphish, just look at my last post for some famous ISTJs! Or, check out www.mypersonality.info.

Yeah, those long breaks do kind of kill the momentum a bit and make it easy to forget what was going on, especially with the slower-moving storylines. I figure it'll only take a few minutes of watching to get up to speed, though.

I can't decide who I want to be the baby daddy. I bet it'll be Jin, which will fit in more with the overall arc of the series, because them Sun's life will literally hang on Juliet finding a cure for the problem (or I guess, on getting off of the island). But dramatically, it would be more interesting to have Jin find out that she's a lyin' cheatin' hussy ... especially if it pushed him more towards the dark side of his personality.

PalmerEldritch said...

Jimothy and Kimothy,

according to http://www.xeromag.com/fun/personality.html, INFJ are "The Conspiracy Theorists." that's pretty sweet.

"INFJ: The Conspiracy Theorist

Beneath the calm, collected exterior of the INFJ lies the horrible reality of someone who has seen The Truth. The INFJ knows what other people are too naive or too brainwasted to admit: the Conspiracy is real. Mistrustful and suspicious, the INFJ is not easily fooled, and does not take the word of the government-controlled medico-military-industrial complex for anything. Whether it's uncovering the plot by butter-eating Jews to clog the arteries of Christian folk with artificial margarine or discovering the secret laboratory in Tibet that's producing legions of Jimmy Carter clones that will be sent out to seize the manufacturing facilities in the Guangdong Province of China under the pretext of inspecting chickens for influenza, there is no lengths the INFJ won't go to in order to blow the lid off the whole thing.

INFJs can often be found holding down jobs as AM radio talk-show hosts. They can also be found driving taxis in the greater Washington, DC area. Other common jobs often held by INFJs include vagrant, loony, whacko, and writer/director/producer of the television show "Seinfeld." INFJs can also be found feeding that crucial bit of information to determined FBI agents just before they are brutally murdered.

RECREATION: INFJs often come home from a hard day's work exposing conspiracies about how the government is poisoning us with mind-control agents spread by passenger airliners and unwind by spending all night writing Web sites exposing conspiracies about how NASA faked the Bush election.

COMPATIBILITY: INFJs are usually happiest and most successful in relationships with Julia Roberts, though the relationships may not end happily.

Famous INFJs include...well, if I told you, I'd have to kill you."

mb said...

Going back the personality stuff - I'm an INFP (idealist) and aparently cut out for a lot of (usually) low-paying jobs:
Teacher, writer, psychologist, musician. However, I can count myself in the company of Peter Jackson, Alyosha Karamazov, Princess Diana, and J.R.R. Tolkien, so I guess it's all in what you do with it (TWSS).

Ralph- said...

MB, i am not a fan of Thomas Newman. That being said, I loved the score to The Good German, which feels like a bit of a departure for him. there is something about his music that crawls undr my skin. i dont know what it is, but it just does. If you havent checked out the score to The Good German, i highly recommend it. it has sort of a Golden Age feel to it. It reminds me a lot of Max Steiner. good stuff!

Ralph- said...

Elias, i heard that Thin Red Line was good, but it has to be really really good for me to like anything that Zimmer does. Bladerunner is a fucking awesome score. i am usually not a fan of ambient electronic scores, but vangelis' work is so beautiful that you cant help but be sucked into the world that Ridley Scott has created.

i am sure doing a lot of score bashing, but i do like a lot of composers. Zimmer is my least fav, followed by Horner. i think that my profile has a list of composers i do like. no matter how much i dislike a composer, there is usually one or two scores by them that i will like.

aimee is lost said...

Ralph & Jimmy are so mean when it comes to Zimmer.

MB - Alyosha Karamazov was my favorite character in that book! I knew there was a reason I liked you (besides your pedophile-hunter voice).

mb said...

Will definitely check that out Ralph.

Re: T.Newman - I have mixed reaction to his stuff (from film to film), like I wasn't into Up Close and Personal or Pay it Forward (that was probably because I thought those movies sucked ass) but for some reason I had the opposite reaction to Shawshank. It evokes uncomfortable but compelling emotions for me.

Ralph- said...

One of the reasons i dont like Zimmer is because of his over use of "additional composers" on films. He has a company called Media Ventures which helps out young composers to get involved in scoring Motion Pictures. the problem is that Zimmer will get a Music By credit in a film , but then you notice later in the credits there are like 9 other composers who worked on the movie too. Luckily some of these guys break free from Media Ventures and go off on their own and do great music (ie-John Powell). it is a great service for young composers, but they are getting shit on.

here is an interview with ZImmer, in which he states that there is nothing more boring than scoring a car chase. boo hoo.

Part 3

I can't believe that they are giving this douche The Simpsons Movie. Sorry for the rant, but i am really passionate about film music.

Aimee -
I need to read Brothers Karamzov. We read a small piece of it (that I can't even remember) back in Hi-school, but that was a damn long time ago (I don't remember there being indoor plumbing yet).

Considering your INTJ bretheren - I want to hang out with you - I think you might be magic.
Re: Ben Linus - I posted this earlier, but I think he's actually an INVM - Insane Narcissist Visionary Manipulator

aimee is lost said...

I wouldn't be surprised. Although one of the suggested occupations for INTJs were bookstore owners (in addition to nuclear engineers and the like). Given Master Ben's inclination toward reading, it..might..just..make..sense.

Oh, and most serial killers are found to be INTJs.

wow - i just got a vision of Ben Linus as a creepy librarian - PERFECT! I think there may actually be a story in that.

MB, woo hoo. I got an INFP buddy. Wonder if it has anything to do with us both being PNWer's?

More famous INFP's:

Neil Diamond
Mister Rogers

Tom Green
Oscar Wilde
Adam Sandler
Julia Roberts
Helen Keller
Dick Clark
John F. Kennedy, Jr.
Scott Bakula!

Ok, I feel obligated to put the "Connect Quantum Leap to Lost" challenge out there for the blogspotters. First one wins something or other.

And no cheating!

memphish said...

I just restarted Brothers K yesterday. I tried to read it last summer and baled after about 100 pages. My plan is to read 1 chapter a day and I will finish in approx. 103 days if I count the a, b, c, etc. parts of some of the long chapters as chapters. Given the length of the hiatus, I think it's doable.

In Ch. 2 today, Baikunin as in Mikhail "Patchy" Baikunin was referenced as being known by the uncle of Brother #1.

(Desmond voice:) Brotha Jordan - thanks for the list!

Now, I suddenly feel like singing a few bars of "Porcupine Pie"...

Jordan said...

Ok, here's what I got by sorta cheating through IMDB. What I try to do is start with Quantum Leap and through random clicking end up at Lost. Here's how I did it with no backtracking. May not be the quickest connection, but extremely interesting.

Scott Bakula was on Murphy Brown with Candice Bergen.

Candic Bergen was on Boston Legal with William Shatner.

William Shatner was in American Psycho II: All American Girl with Mila Kunis.

Mila Kunis was on That 70's Show with Asthon Kutcher.

Ashton Kutcher was in Dude, Where's My Car with Jennifer Garner.

Jennifer Garner was on Alias with Terry O'Quinn.

Terry O'Quinn is on Lost.

Boo ya.

The Brothers Karamazov was such a good book, you guys are such babies. I thought it was going to suck when I first started but you have to let yourself forget about that prejudice otherwise you'll never get into it. It really is an amazing book. Stop whining you sissies.

memphish said...

Jordan, Julie Bowen who plays Sarah Shephard is on Boston Legal. Saves you some steps.

Without using IMDB, I remember that dude from Quantum Leap - the guy that's not Scott Bakula, he was in that tv movie of Stephen King's the Langoliers - which also had Bronson Pinchot.

Then you could just use the Bronson Pinchot connection from before.

Booyah, no IMDB.

Benjamin said...

Hey, I'm back.

Palmer, The Solomon Brothers looks like my kind of movie. Starring Wills Arnett and Forte, and directed by Bo Bodenkirk? I went and saw Let's Go To Prison all by my onesies because I wanted to support Bob's directorial debut, so I can pretty much say I'll be seeing this one as well.

Jordan said...

Odenkirk was in an ep of Arrested Development if I recall correctly as well. Funny the connection between Will Arnett and Bob Odenkirk. Before I ever knew who Arnett was I thought he was Odenkirk. They both look a bit alike.

aimee is lost said...

I'm always excited when I see Bob show up in places like Everybody loves Raymond, Seinfeld, Cable Guy. I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen Let's Go to Prison though. There's a limit to how many movies you can go to by yourself.

memphish said...

MB, My son and I play a game similar to the one you described. He names some thing and I tell him how it relates to LOST. For example, he says "giraffe," and I say a possible explanation for the Smoke Monster suggested by Hurley to Danielle in the episode Numbers. Hurley actually says a "pissed-off giraffe," but 7-year-olds don't need their mom to expand their vocabulary in that direction.

He manages to stump me some of the time, but I can relate most things back to LOST.

Strawberry jam balloons, actually. They hurt more, but it's way funnier.

Let's Go To Prison isn't something I can universally recommend. I liked it, but it wasn't 100%. Still, if you like dudes from The State, and Arnett, and Bob, and Chi McBride, it may be worth a rental at the least.

Also -
HOLY SHIT I am going out and buying Brothers Karamzov TODAY! I've just been reading some excerpts (here
and here (long one)

it is blowing my mind. I must read this book.

I'm also already finding Lost ideas in it. For those who watched the
Sri Lanka Video - it seems to me that this passage directly echoes what Mittelwork is saying in the 2nd half of the video:
(Ivan to Alyosha)
Imagine that you are creating a fabric of human destiny with the object of making men happy in the end, giving them peace and rest at last, but that it was essential and inevitable to torture to death only one tiny creature- that baby beating its breast with its fist, for instance- and to found that edifice on its unavenged tears, would you consent to be the architect on those conditions? Tell me, and tell the truth."

"No, I wouldn't consent," said Alyosha softly.

FUCKING BRILLIANT (aside from the Lost connection of course)!!!

I'm really starting to get pissed off about the lack of SaS podcasts. So please guys, contribute. dont let everyone else do it for you.

Anyone else remember this line from Episode 3.2 No you won't, Sun. I know you, Sun Hwa Kwon. And I know you're not a killer. But despite what you may think, I am not the enemy. We are not the enemy. But if you shoot me, that's exactly what we'll become.

Could it be that Juliet's mission on the beach has nothing to do with fertility but is instead a mission to exact justice for Colleen's death? Since Juliet killed Pickett who would have been the one entitled to take Sun's life in the eye-for-eye system of the Others, Juliet must now execute Sun's sentence.

craziest weather I've seen was in Thunder Bay a few years back - Lightning storms surrounding me, stuck in a Wendys, all escape routes flooded. I still enjoyed Canada though :)

memphish said...

The scariest weather I've ever been in was 7 years ago on the night of the NCAA Basketball championship game. We were in Boone, NC and the winds were blowing off Grandfather Mountain towards us at 100 MPH and the 2-story wall of glass and wood in my aunt and uncle's house we were borrowing was bowing in 3-6 inches. I think I called them 3 times to ask "are you sure it's okay if it does that?" But I didn't want to stop watching the game on the TV set by the window either.

2nd scariest was Hurricane Elvis which knocked out our power for 9 1/2 days and our cable and internet for 3 weeks.

in England we have such average weather that a bit of lightning and heavy rainfall scares the shit out of me. I would probably lay an egg if I was stuck in a hurricane.

Nah, Kim, I spent my gap year in 1999 working for Honda in Scarborough, commuting from Harbourfront, T-Dot. It was a delight :)

memphish said...

Hurricane Elvis wasn't a real hurricane. It was these freak hurrican force winds that only blew for 5 minutes through the entire city knocking out power to 80% of the area and no one else in the entire country knew about it. It was crazy. We lost a tree in our front yard, but fortunately it fell away from the driveway. It rained so hard it blew into the house from curved pipes on our roof. It was like war-like for a few days because at night the city which we live in the middle of was dark.

I was thinking the same thing about that chunk of glass. Especially now that Lindermann's power looks like resurrection, they've really set it up that no death is gonna really seem believable. I wonder if Isaac is actally gone (not that I'll miss him if he is!).

I thought that the Matt/Ted/Bennett stuff was the best tonight (The Three Amigos!), although I wonder what they've done with Bennett's family. Just when I thought that Mohinder was showing some smarts, he up and calls the company; I can't believe that even he's dumb enough to not know that Eric Roberts is bad news. I'm interested to learn more of the back story of the company; at first I thought that Lindermann was a separate entity, and the Company was the group that had 'gone bad' that he mentioned in the beginning. But now it looks like Lindermann is pretty much the company's number one man ... so, who are the ones that split off? (The Others! :) ) Mrs. Petrelli? Sulu?

Big-time shades of The Watchmen tonight. It was so blatant that it had to be intentional.

To me Heroes was very predictable last night. Like Steph, I kept yelling at the TV, pull out the glass you idiots. I don't get that part of the superpower though because I know there have been other times things have been sticking out of Claire and she was able to remove them. I guess they may have been non-lethal impalings.

I kept waiting for Mama Petrelli to reveal her power like Claire's fire mama, but no. There really weren't any OMG moments. Any Nikki/Jessica is too much Nikki/Jessica in my book. That shape shifter girl is pure evil.

And everyone's hair was different which drives me crazy. In fact I think shape shifter girl's changed during the episode, and no I don't mean while she was shape shifted.

HRG rules!

Holli

Stephanie said...

Yeah, the discontinuity of the hair bothered me too. I'm not a fan of Nikki/Jessica either but I did think Ali Larter was hot in the trenchcoat-like jacket with her hair slicked back. And while we're on the topic of hair, how hot was Peter post-dying with his hair slicked back? The hairdressers were into that gel in this episode. And that Missy girl was on AOTS yesterday, I think. Her hair was almost down to her butt. In the Nikki/Jessica scene, it was shoulder length. She may have extentions. Wearing extentions is cheating!
Damn, I'm sick of packing lunches. I'm ready for school to be out.

PalmerEldritch said...

Steph, I don't watch AOTS but I subscribe to their Viral Video vidcast thing. And while Olivia Munn is usually extremely droolworthy, she was ORANGE for a day or two. Bizarre. Like the kind of Oompa Loompa a guy could only dream about...

Heroes was good. Glad to see Isaac got a cool scene to go out with. There are a few other characters I could do without, methinks. DL doesn't seem to really ever do anything. And Micah's the only kid with Eriq LaSalle's hair from Coming to America that I've ever seen.

Anyhow, focus on Hiro and the Extended Petrelli Clan (including Claire and HRG) and I'll be a happy TV viewer.

Mike Campbell said...

I kinda thought the painted showed that Nathan was corupt and thats what he looks like on the inside. But it could be someone else.

Mike Campbell said...

the new painting that is.

Stephanie said...

What about Drive? Now that was not predictable. When did Baby Brother get shot? When Alex was struggling with the "security guard"? Kinda like Does anyone in Heroes not have a power? In Drive, Is everyone in on this race? The witch-looking waitress that spotted the mom with the gun- she's the Patrick Swayze-supporter in Donnie Darko, if it was driving anyone else crazy.

Stephanie said...

Michael, you've been reading spoilers, haven't you.
Mama Petrelli's acting left alot to be desired.

I just figured the painting was showing his evil because he really wants to be president and i can see him letting the bomb go off in NY. That guy is bad news.

PalmerEldritch said...

so, are we all waiting for Peter to get his scar or can we assume that if FutureHiro got Peter to meet Claire so he'd have regenerative abilities, then Peter won't get a scar anymore?

and did FutureHiro get Peter to save Claire so Nathan would have a reason to be a good guy? after all, Nathan's wife and kids have effectively disappeared from all story involvement.
