Hey, I just thought of something. Is there anything that makes us think Richard Alpert is a doctor? Because we sure slipped into calling him Dr. Eyeliner with a quickness.
Ben, When the secretary from Mittelos calls Juliet to confirm her appointment with Alpert in "Not in Portland" she calls him Dr. Alpert. Juliet always calls him Mr. Alpert in the episode transcript I checked. I guess that leaves the question open.

There were some really good Listener Theories on Jay and Jack for a change. 1)The events in the cabin may have just been theatre tricks. 2)Annie might be The Sherriff. Never mind, I looked it up at Lostpedia. Her name wsa Isabel. 3)And it may not be that Alpert isn't aging, but Ben is aging faster than normal.

I agree with Ben's MBK choices.
I found Candice's character to be quite interesting last night. It was the first time they ever focused on her as a person. I liked how apparently in real life she isn't as attractive as she makes herself look and how that was a catalist to her joining Linderman.
Speaking of hot chicks on Heroes, what the hell ever happened to that Wireless chick? Seems they sorta forgot about her. She was in the 5 Years Past episode, but hasn't been around for some time. Hopefully she factors in somehow down the road.
And for those of you who watch 24, how weird was it to watch Rena Sofer in both ep's of Heroes & 24?
yeah, i had my Rena Sofer double feature last week. interesting that she disappeared from both shows for so long and reappeared at relatively the same time.

Steph - you made me laugh b4 w/your comment about aging (not to mock your pain - I feel it). How is it possible that 1 cheeseburger which weighs, what, 1/2 lb with the bun and stuff, can produce 2-3 lbs of weight on me. It's truly amazing. I think that has been the hardest thing for me as I get older, how unforgiving the body becomes. Dammit I want to keep eating crap with few if any bodily consequences. (sigh)

So this is what I think is going on: Jacob is the personification of the island and Ben has been his emissary. But Ben has not been honoring Jacob and has actually kept him captive. This would explain why Ben got cancer on an island where no one could get cancer. Jacob/The Island has chosen Locke to be his new emissary, hence why he has healed so fast. Jacob is asking Locke to help him to save Jacob/The Island from Ben…as far as why Richard Alpert wears makeup and doesn’t age, well I have no idea about that.
