LOL Steph. Bruce Lorne Campbell can help you.

Cheers Dramalars - looking forward to this one Jimmy.

going back to the last thread -
Appaulo - I totally want to see this subway man of which you speak!

casey_donahue said...

also way to get up to 18 in the top 20 hot podcasts

fucking insane

Trevor McFur said...

Yeah, Appaulo, you have to post pictures of the subway man. A guy with a man purse is frightening enough ... but a green mesh one holding a rabbit? Yikes.

Ralph- said...

It downloaded great on my iTunes. give it a minute, switchpod has been acting up the last several hours. the link should work on this page, you can always right click and save the file from here. but it should be working on itunes.

Joe said...

Sweet, sweet Lost content...

Thanks Dramatards.

casey_donahue said...

ugh

ralph the link here directs me to the switchpod homepage and i clicked resubscribe to the lars feed in itunes and its telling me the file is corrupt, it downloads but wont play, i dont know what to do i need to hear your voices!!

Trevor McFur said...

Wow, early Dharmalames this week ... nice.

General announcement for anyone pondering a purchase of the Lost iPod game ... don't do it. The game stinks, and I beat it in about 20-30 minutes. Find something else to spend your hard-earned 5 bucks on, you'll be glad you did.

probune said...

Switchpod doesn't work for me :(

I've gone to try to download a few past Dharmalars podcasts as well and it doesn't work either, so the problem is most likely on their end.

Ralph- said...

I dont know what to tell you casey. I have signed into switchpod, i have check both blogs, the myspace bulletin and blog and it is all clear on my end. Itunes downloaded for me no problem.

i really dont know if there is anything i can to.

Darryl Cunningham said...

I'm having no luck with iTunes or the SAS link.

System Failure! System Failure!

elias said...

I got it fine from the SAS link - love the opening skit!

PalmerEldritch said...

have yet to check it out. i've got paperwork like nobody's business to do at work. but tonight is DharmalarsTime.

thanks for the podcast, ralph. sorry that i can't QA the feed until work is over. i'll let you know if the feed sucks sometime after 5 pm eastern.

elias said...

Juno is your caseworker - classy.

PalmerEldritch said...

what're kim's stations again? i'm bored at work and looking for an interweb radio station.

Ralph- said...

Talking with Jay, and we think that Switchpod may be having some issues with their servers.

It works 100% for me and a few of you. Then it doesnt for others.

Just hold tight and i am sure you will get it. i wish there was something i could do, but there is really nothing i can do.

if you are able to download the episode before our usual 10:30pm PST posting time, than you still win!

Trevor McFur said...

Downloading it now, but it's taking a loooong time ... close to 20 minutes. It usually downloads pretty quickly, so there's something up.

International-J said...

I want to win, but I'm such a loser :(

Jimmy said...

It al downloaded fine, linked to iTunes etc...so I agree with Ralph. It will work out.

PalmerEldritch said...

To quote Cheech in reference to the iTunes/Switchpod download issue:

"Having hope is never stupid. You've gotta believe good things will happen and then they will. You understand what I'm saying? In this world, son, you've gotta make your own luck. All right?"

thanks, LostHatch.com! Hey, that site says that Hurley's dad's name is David. So, Hurley has daddy issues that make him develop a malevolent hallucination named after his dad? Crazy stuff.

Ralph- said...

Dave's not here, man.

t-dot kim said...

What happened in the first 4 minutes?? Nuts. I'm listening now!

Palmer, you can hear the traffic in Toronto/Hamilton on www.900chml.com, or on www.country953.com/, or on www.y108.ca/

PalmerEldritch said...

thanks, kim. i can't make the whole office listen to the dharmalars or TLI but i can force the bastards to listen to your traffic reports.

thanks, buddy. you're the best.

t-dot kim said...

no probs, chml is very 10 mins on the 9s...

btw, is anyone watching On The Lot??

PalmerEldritch said...

kim, no. nobody's watching. apparently, it got crap for ratings.

when do i get to hear you on Y108?

and Jordin won AI, eh?

Joe said...

Great podcast guys... really feels like the last day of school around here... Mybe we'll have a few keggers, but we know it won't be the same until school is back in session... oh well...

I have a question for Jimmy (if you're still out there):

When the blond chick tells Charlie that the code is programmed to the tune of "Good Vibrations", she didn't tell him which part of the song... at first I thought it would be the "I'm pickin' up good vibrations. She's giving me excitations..." part because that's what everyone thinks of when they think of that song... but the code was actually from the "Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations happenin' with her" part... (Personally, I always liked that part of the song better anyway) but since she says that a musician programmed the code, would Charlie know that a real musician would prefer that part of the song to the other part? Or could he tell which part it was from the pattern of "5-4-5" at the beginning.

Just wondering, and I knew you'd be the man to ask.

t-dot kim said...

Y108 usually runs with the news around the :00, or the :30... I record their reports so I don't even hear them.

I knew Jordin would win when Melinda was knocked out :( She had the best voice, but Jordin is my girl.

I watched On The Lot...it wasn't bad. The Canadian kid is awesome!

PalmerEldritch said...

Bad News: No Kim during the 4:30 news update on Y108. Some dude or something. Or I just missed it somehow.

Good News: Olivia Munn dressed up as Gold Bikini Princess Leia for the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. Goodness gracious!

Jordan said...

Kim, are you live currently on chml? If so, you gotta bust out a kablammo in honor of the season being over.

casey_donahue said...

kim i watched it on tuesday and forgot it was on again on thursday i am going to start watching thursday now that i know it is on again then, i loved it though, its the story of my life.

judging from tuesday, I would have killed on this show they take away alot of the hard stuff (giving you a log line for instance, also giving you actors and locations) I am most definitely applying for season 2 and i will be pissed if the show gets cancelled. also im sick of these kids that are like "who needs film school" they are more snobbier then the fuckin emerson film school kids.

Anonymous said...

I can't get ITunes to work...I too get the corrupt file strike out. Any suggestions from you techie's?? I'm jonesing for the Podcast!

t-dot kim said...

Casey...I really liked On The Lot, and I have a friend that should have submitted a film. He would win. I would have liked to be part that type of show, but I don't think I'd have the confidence to know I'd win.

Jordan...I can't promise a Kablamo, I really don't want to get fired :P

Palmer...Y108 is a joke. From what I gather the annoucner in the afternoon, records my reports then does the traffic himself.

Jordan said...

I am at work so I can't dl the new episode. Maybe it has to do with how popular the show has become. Which if so, I'm stoked for Balph, but makes me yearn for the old days when ep's downloaded in a matter of minutes. But it's a small price to pay for the super success for Balph & Jim. Way to go guys! Hey I just heard this traffic girl on my computer. She sounded kinda hot.

Jordan said...

Don't worry Kim. I don't want you to get fired either. That would kinda suck. Geez, what's with all this talk about Canada on this station? Sheesh. lol.

Jordan said...

Is it ok to rib Kim when she has trouble saying underpass? Mmmmm. McDonalds parfet.

Stephanie said...

We're watching On the Lot. I like it.

argh. Neither The Dharmalars nor Jay And Jack want to download for me through any channels. I'm guessing it's because of a high 'WTF did i just watch, explain it to me' demand factor. hope this sorts itself out before i head home from work.

i'm working on the Venus Flytrap Station logo.

no Sopranos this week, so i might watch the Lost finale a 2nd time.

rock on blogspot.

andrew.

Anonymous said...

Stephanie, i'm really fiending to see Pirates 3. I seem to be in a real minority because i loved the 2nd one. I think part of it might be that i waited for the DVD and a lot of people felt burned by the 'to be continued'.

andrew.

jayhawk said...

Listening now. You guys are hilarious! "The Lars" should make the hiatus much more tolerable.

Didn't get to watch the ep until Thurs. night so I had to avoid you all for a whole day. It was very difficult. Damn you all for becoming part of my life! :) Made today pretty fun, though. Nothing like an assload of posts to make the day fly by.

PalmerEldritch said...

almost finished downloading the 'lars. download works for me.

waiting for kim on that Hamilton Talk Radio station...

did Kim totally flub her line? awesome! it only makes our Amazonian Goddess of the Interwebs more human. love it!

and i'm pretty sure that Kim said "Aerosmith" like the last thread. i'm sure it was spelled differently but i got a huge kick out of it.

kim, how the hell do you talk that fast?!

/huge Kim's radio voice fan
//its tres cool

casey_donahue said...

steph i saw it earlier this week at work

better than 2 not as good as 1

the battle scenes are like 10x more extravagant then the second, i miss the simple ideas of sword fights with skeletons from the 1st, jerry bruckheimer should learn that less is more

there was 1 scene which made the best shout out to the ride in all 3 films

kim, who's your friend, I am always interested in checking out other peoples work, does he have a link?

mb said...

Listening now -
The Balph and Ren morning show - f-in awesome. That is so right on w/all the SFX - lmao! That pretty much encapsulates 90% of the morning shows out there - funny stuff.

Stephanie said...

I liked 2 just as well as I did 1. I must not be in the mood for Pirates at the moment. I heard the battle scenes are so long, you forget the point. I went to WDW last year and couldn't find the ride. I know, I shouldn't even admit that.

t-dot kim said...

I don't think I'll see Pirates this weekend... I can't handle the kids. (you know you're old when...)

Casey, I'm sure my friend Miguel has a page, I don't know it, but I'll get back to you.

Jordan said...

Hahaha. A coworker just asked me why I'm listening to Canadian talk radio. I told him that I am trying to expand my knowledge of world affairs.

casey_donahue said...

oh steph...thats disappointing, although I am not sure how hard it is to find it, being someone who goes to WDW 4-6 times a year...
the updates with the movie stuff are really cool in my opinion

and yes the battle scenes are ridiculously long.

casey_donahue said...

oh and kim, im 19 going on 20 and I cant handle the kids...I never see a movie opening weekend, if i ever do have the urge, i go sunday night, a great night for movie going.

casey_donahue said...

great update kim, and I say clemens will not be back for toronto, he is getting another minor league start and will debut in fenway...where he will get rocked. (knock on wood)

PalmerEldritch said...

i'm going to see Pirates sometime Tuesday since I finagled the day off to get myself a four day weekend (thanks to memorial day on monday).

brilliant idea, eh? too bad it wasn't mine. the lady friend thought it up weeks ago. but i get to reap the rewards of her brilliant mind.

p.s. kids in movie theaters are pretty annoying.

p.p.s. stay off my lawn! :)

casey_donahue said...

i dont have beef wih just kids, I cant stand anyone under the age of 17 in a movie theater

t-dot kim said...

Casey, Sunday night is when I do most of my movie watching. I thought I was the only one who had weird movie watching rituals, but now that I've started listening to the Scene/Unseen podcast, I feel like less of a weirdo. Clemmens will be back in Toronto in May, and I'll be booing him all the way along with the NYY. :(

elias said...

about to go to the 23:50PM Pirates - too late for those youts who talk on the phone for the whole movie :)

casey_donahue said...

Jordan said...

I can sympathize with you guys who don't like the crowds at theaters. I usually wait a week or so to see a movie and end up going to a midweek matinee. I like being one of only 3 or 4 people in a theater. Although it made it quite weird when I went and saw Secretary.

Ralph- said...

jordan, i dont understand why people are so against myspace. it is mearly a way to get in quick contact with your friends. it is an easy way to just pop by and say hi. i say that you go for it.

Jordan said...

You know what Ralph? I don't know what I really got against it myself. At first it was because it was such a fadish thing for kids. I associated it with my little sister and her friends. Then once I figured out that it wasn't so bad, I was like, "well I've held out this long." Maybe I will give it a shot.

The one thing I will say is that it sure seems to be a commercial tool. Every other thing on there is a ad for some movie or something. I don't even want to know how much the guy who owns that site pulls in.

Jordan said...

Hey Ralph, your profile on here says you're a screenwriter. Is that for reals? I haven't heard you ever talk about it. You working on anything currently?

Malcolm in RVA said...

my prediction for the series:

it will lay off the mysteries established in the first 3 seasons, and work on what happened between the finale, and the flashback within the next season episodes through flashbacks. the current event stuff will be jack trying to gather all the losties to go back to the island. then the end of the season, they will get back to the island. season 5 and 6 will go back to the hostiles and jacob, rather than bens group of others. season 6 will be the wrap up season. i feel like we'll have a better idea of what it will be when we get into season 4.

Malcolm in RVA said...

yeah. ive been wondering what youre jobs are. please share with us.

Ralph- said...

i have written 2 screenplays. one just went up for sale mere moments before i got jorge's message last saturday. the other is still in rewrites, and i did the story for the 3rd screenplay written by a friend of mine. myspace.com/casualtyfriday

that's an awesome Halos hat on your myspace, by the way.

Ralph- said...

i have written to a couple of production companies. but there are so many screenplays out there that it is tough to catch somone's attention. so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me. i really want to buy a house.

PalmerEldritch said...

california prices are pretty insane, eh?

i know this must sound like a crappy idea but i've read that a good place to get into television writing is crappy cartoons. is WB making any crappy cartoons lately?

submitted any writing to an agent?

hey, wow, this whole subject is none of my business. heheheheh. just trying to help.

i'll stop yapping and just cross my fingers for you instead.

Stephanie said...

ralph-, remember, it's not what you know, it's who you know. So, maybe this podcast will lead you to just the right person. Why can't I get the podcast?
Jordan, I was anti-myspace too, just out of spite, I suppose. I gave in. Come on, I have 99 friends. I want a nice, round 100.

Anonymous said...

Buy a house? Damn. How much does a screenplay go for?

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

Joe, if you don't mind having a Johnny instead of a Jimmy address your Good Vibrations question, I believe you have indeed hit the nail on the head - it would be fairly easy for Charlie to assume that the 5-4-5 at the start related to an opening note of a phrase, then a note one semitone (half-tone if you prefer) down, and then back to the initial note, which would lead him (having been told it was Good Vibrations) to that section.

What I find harder to swallow is the idea that Charlie's choice of grace notes matched those also chosen by "The Musician" when s/he programmed it - which in my book is almost supernaturally unlikely.

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

Also, my job is a silly job.

Somehow I get the feeling you wouldn't expect anything less.

Anonymous said...

Hahahaha. I can't believe you guys were talking about Square One. That's hilarious. I totally remember that shit.

I want to thank Ralph for being the "man of the people" of the dharmalars. Usually whenever you have a famous duo, one person is more a people's person than the other. Our guy Ralph is truly, "One of us" whereas Benny boy seems to be the diva of the pair. You are a cool dude Ralph. Don't let your newfound fame change who you are dude.

Any guesses as to which of the TLI girls takes the "Big Time Ben" route when they hit it huge? My money is on Aimee. That one has movie star written all over her. Plus I think it's impossible for Canadians to become self-involved. They are such a humble people by nature.

PalmerEldritch said...

steph, did i miss an entire AOTS of Slave Leia Olivia? :(

i could put up with an hour of Kevin Perreira for that.

Benjamin said...

I'm not a diva! It's just that all these words confuse and frighten me so I put off coming here. Although, if you think I could pull off a prima donna attitude, I might give it a shot.

Ahem.

RALPH! I WANT A BIGGER TRAILER, AND A COGNAC GLASS FULL OF GREEN M&M'S!

Joe said...

Hey Ghostwatch Johnny, thanks for filling in for Seattle Jimmy and answering my question... I figured that's why it had to be Charlie to swim down and take care of that... an ex-drunk ex-monk could never have figured out the musical angle of the code... so that part makes sense, I guess...

I still think that Charlie and Desmond could have strapped on some scuba gear and got the hell out of there before the station got anywhere near full... keeping the door open would have even given Des a brief moment or two on the line with Penny, oh well...

Rolph - good luck buddy, it's a tough line to break into, but we believe in you... on the bright side, you don't have to become famous to make a good living at it... shit gets bought and sold all the time... optioned and re-optioned until you forgot that you actually wrote it, but you do get paid... so again, good luck... a word of advice, though - Don't buy a house right now, especially in California... the market is such shit that you would be better off renting for another 3 years or so... 3 years of rent would actually cost you less than what you would lose on your investment in almost any kind of real estate right now...

Wow, is this what "Lost" forums will be like for the next 8 months?

Anonymous said...

Ben, Sorry broseph. You are so a diva. You wanna be like Rolf, you gotta man up and play dominos. Don't worry though buddy. We still like you and your diva ways.

casey_donahue said...

hey ralph, do you know anything about getting a foot in the door in production and/or post besides scrapping for p.a. jobs? like do you know of a way to contact studios or anything? mainly for post I am clueless as to how to get into the post production world, just thought i would ask

I was hoping Jimmy would touch of the moving rendition of "Life and Death" with Charlie's redemption theme playing over it ... and also the many variations on "Hollywood and Vines" we got.

Stephanie said...

I know how the dharmalars feel about not having the need to discuss the finale. When I got started it just gushed out though.
Jimmy's piece is never long enough. I'm always left wanting more.

I'm still amazed that ralph- always says exactly what I'm thinking.
ralph-, do you like crossword puzzles as well?

elias said...

Steph - Pirates was good fun but I was so tired near the end. Same with Return of the King - I couldn't wait for Frodo to die so I could go to the bathroom.

Keith Richards cracked me up and the action scenes were better than ever. In this franchise I think more is more.

There were at least 4 walkouts last night but it was pushing 3AM.

"Jimmy's piece is never long enough."

I'll let somebody else say it. lol.

Stephanie said...

TWSS, Jordan. I was actually trying to be sincere. I want a thirty minute segment from Seattle Jimmy.
Elias, the funeral home director was on The Shield. He played Asst. Chief Phillips. I don't really remember him but I knew he looked familiar.
This chick played Carrie Brady #3 in 1993. Ben, you must have a mind like a steel trap.

elias said...

Yeah I spotted Asst. Chief Phillips - good character on the Shield. Such a minor role on Lost though.

I'm sure Jimmy has more important things to do than recording and editing a massive music segment for us but it would be amazing. Then we could say his piece was just the right size ;)

Stephanie said...

I think I would have rather see Locke run out of bullets than back down from shooting Jack.

PalmerEldritch said...

i see what you're saying, steph. i usually get a kick out of those "oops. i'm out of bullets!" moments but i'm ok with the way it went down. locke can kill randos like nobody's business but he just can't ever muster the inner strength to kill friends or family.

i'm hoping that there's still more pre-Rescue Island story to be told cuz Desmundo still has to paddle to the beach and attempt to warn everyone. and will desmond feel like a jerk for saving Naomi and screwing everyone over?

Stephanie said...

p, I wanted to see Locke so driven to do what was best for the island that he would even go so far as to not allow even Jack to stand in his way.
I feel like Lindeluse has lots of story for us that includes what happened between Jack making the call and the Losties actually being rescued. But then again, I think about TOQ selling his house. Is filming in Hawaii being phased out?

i think Craig and Dylan used to drop a Ka-blamo! every now and again back on the Scott and Steve podcast.

KA-BLAMO!

usually we'll Kablamo on posts 42, 108 (the sum of The Numbers), and on 69 cuz we're immature. :)

it's technically acceptable to Kablamo on 4, 8, 15, 16, and 23 as well but those posts are usually easier to get than 42, 69, and 108.

also, you may use a Kablamo in conversation after you've totally blown someone's mind or pwn3d their n00b 4$$.

any other Kablamo rules?

PastPablo said...

lol awesome.

Trevor McFur said...

I was thinking about Locke not shooting Jack, because it was a little tiny thing that bothered me about the episode ... you would think that, if Locke was so sure that making the call wasn't the right thing to do, and that he was under the directive of the island to stop it from happening, that he wouldn't let anything stand in his way. Plus, he had already killed Naomi, so it wasn't like he still had to overcome unwillingness to kill someone anymore. But then I thought, we don't know what happened between the time when he met Walt, and when he came back again at the end. He also told Jack that, "This isn't what you're SUPPOSED to do, Jack" ... like maybe he knows now that Jack has some major role to play for the island/Jacob/Smokey, and, while he would do what he could to stop Jack from making the call, he had another, over-riding directive that Jack coudn't die (and his threat to kill Jack was a bluff all along).

Or maybe he's just a wuss. Just some thoughts.

Anonymous said...

The Dharmalars mania died down enough that i was able to grab the episode. Another classic show. I completely hear you guys about the Lost exhaustion after the finale and i love your theory about the new direction of the show, reinvinting the characters we've already learned so much about.

just rewatched the finale
some random thoughts

-Charlie's death played much better, much faster, this time around. A lot of the scene plays out in slow motion, and that's why on first viewing it feels like he has plenty of time to escape. In reality, Desmond is already on his way to the room because Charlie called him when Penny said her name. Charlie pulls the door shut to save Desmond and there's even a quick 'what the fuck did i just do' moment. He starts to drown and then realizes he needs to tell Desmond that it's not Penny's boat.

-the rule that you have to close people's eyes for them on the island or they're not really dead reared its ugly head big time. Charlie and Desmond put blankets over Bonnie & Clyde in the Looking Glass but left Mikhail to air out on his shishkabob, so he pulled a michael myers.

-now i don't like my own theory about Jack refering to his pops being in heaven. I thought the line was 'get my dad down here from upstairs' and didn't think Jack necessarily had to be religious to make that kind of snide remark but it really just played out like he was bugging and thought for a moment his Dad was still chief of surgery and drunkenly carving people up.
It feels like a cheat, but i'll take it.

-the part where they're threatening to kill Jin, and Bernard confesses is still brutal. You hate Bernard for blurting out so much information, but you really don't want to see Jin go.

-Did Jack end up killing Ben? He tells Kate that he wants Ben to witness them getting rescued and then he's going to kill him, but that was also before he learned that Sayid, Bernard and Jin were okay.

-Rousseau says she's not leaving the island, that it's her home now. Missed that the first time. Is she communing with the island too? are Alex & Karl going to stay too?

-Locke makes a weird exit after he backs down from killing Jack. They make a point of showing him leave. so he definitely stayed on the island.

-Stephanie, i think Locke & the island recognize Jack as a good person and a good influence. They're confused by Jack's actions because they trust him to do the right thing but think answering the call is the wrong thing. So Locke secondguesses shooting Jack. 'you're not supposed to do this'

-is Kate wearing Charlie's hoodie when they're trekking to the radio tower at night? Was that evangeline's tribute to her fallen beau?

-boobs.

I am proud of my KABLAMO moment. It's my 2nd time doing 108. (LOL, that's some sort of TWSS, right?)

I've only seen the finale once, and listened to parts of the Dharmalars--and avoided all LOST podcasts. (When Aimee and I record tomorrow, I don't want to be persuaded with other ideas and pawn them off as my own). I've had time to simmer down after watching the finale, and am excited about where LOST is going. Andrew, I agree that when Locke walked off in the episode that it was weird

PastPablo said...

Good call on the hoodie andrew, I noticed it but didn't link it back to Charlie, great theorie's all around. I think now that Danielle and Alex have been reunited, Danielle will be more willing, and, maybe even excited, to get off the island and live a normal life.

Dharmalars Mania will never die down!

PalmerEldritch said...

i'm thinking (and hoping) that next season is not a "and they all got off the island and then hilarity ensued on the mainland" season. i'm thinking that we'll pick up where we left off with jack on the phone or shortly thereafter(at least in flashbacks but hopefully as the main story). then desmond will try to beat the rescuers to our lostaways.

maybe desmundo will show up and say "they're lying. that's not Penny's boat" right after the rescuers say "Penny Widmore is waiting for you on the boat once we get off the helicopter."

then we could have a "who do we trust" moment before they decide to get on the chopper or not.

oh. and why do we assume that the Island will LET them leave without a fight? maybe whatever took down Naomi's helicopter will attempt to take out the rescue helicopters.

of course, a big ass boat could just pull up at the beach too.

good thing we have eight more months to try to figure all this out. yeesh.

PalmerEldritch said...

amen to that ralph.

i'm trying to figure out what kind of dharmalars swag to buy from the Dharmalars Store.

support your local dharmalar.

Hey Kim-
Twins beat the Jays. Sorry. I'm not that sorry, though.

I really liked Pirates 3. The battle scenes are long, but they're still incredibly awesome. Some of the plot lines are a little confusing (there are a lot of them), but overall, it was a well done film. It's entertaining, and that's all you can ask, right?

Trevor McFur said...

Palmer, I can't believe that they'll just drop the 'future' storyline for the next year or two after dropping that bombshell on us. I think that they'll be telling two stories at once, one starting where the island story left off, one starting where the Jack and Kate scene left off. Whether it's with flashbacks, flashfowards, or something different, who knows ... can't wait to find out!

And go with the thong.

PastPablo said...

Trevor, I can believe that they'd drop the future story for atleast a season. Look at their track record: We still don't know what Smokey is, we didn't get much about Penny/Portugese outpost until the latter part of this season (almost a whole season after it/she was introduced), alot of the stories from season one barely wrapped (The Real Sawyer, how Locke was paralyzed, Alex/Danielle etc.) The writers have show themselves to be very methodical and patient. I wouldn't be surprised.

PalmerEldritch said...

trevor, i'm thinking that Flashforwards will be the thing they do for people with fleshed out backstories. and mysterious people will have flashbacks.

as for the dharmalars man-thong, that pays for itself. assuming one can dance and doesn't mind one dollar bills...

/cringe

PastPablo said...

Wow, this netflix seems amazing. My body still hurts.....from that rock I was under (wow bad joke). I've been adding movies for well over an hour now....

Jordan said...

Hey Ralph, Has anybody purchased a DL thong yet? If not, good ladies of the blogspot, what are you waiting for?

Trevor McFur said...

Have a general question for the blogspotters ... any podcast recomendations for the long hiatus? I listen pretty much exclusively to lost podcasts, and I know that there'll be The Lars and J&Js Ramblecasts to help me through the break, but I think that I'll need some supplementation, since I listen to maybe about 10 hours/week. Thanks!

Trevor McFur said...

And palmer, you're right about the thong paying for itself. It'd be foolish to NOT buy one.

PastPablo said...

welp, I'm off until tonight, later people, enjoy your saturday!

Ralph- said...

Palmer the only stuff i can vouch for is the Buttons and The Mugs. maybe the messanger bag too.

FYI, all of those prices are as cheap as they can be, so we dont make a dime off of it.

Stephanie said...

Awe Andrew, you make me blush when you call me Stephanie.

Trevor, I'll post my list at my myspace.

Anonymous said...

is anyone else having issues dl the podcast off itunes? i tried off the dharmalars feed and the lpn feed. hmm...

Jordan said...

What if that wasn't Penny that Charlie saw on the tv? And it was the smoke monster/Jacob/weird island mojo. Same thing as whatever spoke to Locke as Walt. I don't think I buy it, but interesting to think about.

Stephanie said...

What if...
Kate is being held against her will by Naomi's people. And Jack is being blackmailed into keeping his mouth shut. I don't know what I'm talking about.

Ralph- said...

I just realized why there is all the "Ben is a Diva" talk. And i can't say that i dont agree.

I have never once told Jimmy to keep his segment at a certain length. I could listen to jimmy talking about anything, all day long. I cannot wait to see what he pulls out for the summer.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Ralph- said...

steph, there is a bazillion possiblilities! you could be on to something.

Jordan said...

I'm finally listening to the new dl. Love Arrested Development references. Best show ever.

Benjamin said...

Wow, even Ralph is turning against me. I guess I'll have to step up my appearances here.

Ralph- said...

Everyone loves the Dramalars!

Jordan said...

HAHAHA! I'm still listening to the ep & something just stood out to me that explains this "Ben is a diva" talk.

At the end Ben is talking about his signature banner at some forum being "the mural of me that's painted on my living room wall". Wow. Alright J-Lo. lol.

Ralph- said...

i believe that it is something that happens later on. But good guess.

Jordan said...

Oh and it continues. He follows that up by saying "And I am no longer accepting friend requests on my Myspace account". Yeah, this diva stuff is totally unfounded.

Ralph, I hope there's still room for you to fit into the same room as B-Lo's massive ego.

I'm just kidding Bennie boy. Hope you don't get angry with us peons and stop coming to the 'spot.

Jordan said...

That what you talking about Ralph? I thought that rufio guy who first brought it up was talking about Ben turning his nose to the blogspot and that these things were funny coincidences. That would've been too good. As for that guys's question as to which TLI girl is gonna go hollywood, my money is on Aimee as well. I mean, she already has fans in Starbucks. lol.

have you guys seen what jay said about you guys taking the #1 lost podcast spot?

Oh snap.

"Haha its all right guys, the Lars are our good friends and we've put in a lot of work helping them out with their show. Don't worry about our iTunes ranking it is based on new subscribers per day, and I know this is very special for Ralph, Ben, and Jimmy and I'm glad we could help them along the way.

Plus we still cream them in subscribers, and overall downloads"

Ralph- said...

Jay is well aware of where we stand. I have been updating him all week! i do it out of love, because i know that it will not last much longer.

He is actually very proud of us and because of it, we are gonna have a kick ass time walking into comic con as Good Cop/Bad Cop.

we will be like Lee and Carter, walking tall!

trust me, there is no rivalry. they are the best buds we have in the podcasting world!

Ralph- said...

It looks like we have topped out in iTunes. We are starting to fall back down the ladder. We made it up to #18 of All Podcasts and #2 in the TV&Film category.

thanks to all of you, this was the craziest week in Dharmalars History.

Trevor McFur said...

Ralph, you'll always be number 1 around here. Or, at the very least, number 2.

Ralph- said...

right now my favorite podcast is TLI. jay and jack are a close second. that is pretty much the only podcasts i listen to.

I do enjoy Soundtrack.net 's podcast as well as FilmScoreMonthly 's podcast. but those are really only for film score nerds like me.

t-dot kim said...

Ralph...my favourite podcast is The Dharmalars! ;) TLI is nothing w/o Aimee, she amazes me with her theories, and her logic. I was at the Apple store today getting a new iTunes card, and talking LOST with one of the "genius"es, and even he knew of the Dharmalars!

Ralph- said...

WHOAH!!!
that is cool.

Ralph- said...

Wait a second, kim. you dont need to talk to the genius bar guys in order to get an iTunes card. i sense that there was some flirting going on.

Aimme has the Starbucks guy and Kim has the Apple dude!!

ha ha

New listener. You guys are awesome! Can't believe I just found out at the end of the season. I can't wait til next season. Even though the one guy with the nasaly voice can be moody at times, you still rock.

t-dot kim said...

Which one of the Dharmalars speaks through his nose??

It's probably Ben. lol!

Ralph- said...

Pirates 3 gets 8 tenticles down.

Hans Zimmer can go to hell along with his lackeys and electric guitar.

sorry, did that come off as nasaly?

PastPablo said...

pirates is bad? =( i'm such a fan of this series. Say it aint sooo

Ralph- said...

i am not a super fan of the series, but stevi is and she hated it. i think that ben liked it, but he is really forgiving of movies.

sorry, but i will never watch this movie again. ever. the same still stands for The Lost World.

this is the Miami Vice (the movie, not the tv series) of pirate movies.

Ralph- said...

if you like Pirates Negotiating with other people and pirates to the point where it makes no sense, then this movie is okay for you. there is a good solid 30 minutes of action towards the end, but keep in mind that this film is 2hours and 45 minutes long.

elias said...

I liked Miami Vice - Michael Mann is one of the best directors and made the best version of Red Dragon.

Pirates has to be taken with a pinch of salt, and it's not exactly Raiders. As a McMovie it's entertaining.

I'm not gonna defend The Lost World ;)

Kim MUST have had a BETTER reason to be in the Apple store. What could it be? You can buy iTunes cards in the frickin check-out line at Walmart ot Walgreens or almost anywhere for that matter. We need some answers here. :)

International-J said...

Ralph I must agree with you, Hans Zimer must stop his composing. I absolutely hated the guitar part.

Stephanie said...

ralph- might be moody but he is not nasaly.

casey_donahue said...

ive been waiting for other people to see pirates so i can bitch about the morricone rip off, that made me cringe, it was so terrible and out of place and all it made me think of was charlse bronson and his harmonica.

Stephanie said...

We're going Friday. By then, I'll figure out what "morricone" means, Casey.

PalmerEldritch said...

pirates 3 = tuesday while my co-workers are stuck at work. chumps.

everyone watch Jeopardy on Monday to cheer for my friend Mehrun who has won two nights in a row. coincidentally, those are the only two nights i've watch jeopardy in YEARS... sorry, trebek but without the mustache, you are nothing.

does anyone else immediately want to throat punch any one who calls themself an "Apple Genius" or "Mac Genius" or whatever that horseshit at the Apple Store is?

Trevor McFur said...

Trebek's shaved his mustache?

elias said...

ennio morricone's score to once upon a time in the west. I thought he used guitar for Henry Fonda's theme, right?

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah. trebek's been sans mustache for years now.

/sad but true

PastPablo said...

I heart Ennio Morricone. Havn't heard the Pirates OST even though it's sitting on my desktop. Now i've got incentive.

Ralph- said...

its not the fact that he used electric guitar, it's how he used it.

In 300, Tyler Bates used Electric guitar to drive the percusion, and it fired me up. John Powell's use of electic guitar in a lot of his action scores is used as one of the instruments of the orchestra.

the problem with zimmer, is that he placed the guitar in front of the orchestra and made it known that it was there. It was out of place and obnoxious.

my friend Dan, who i mentioned on our latest episode, put up the first review of "Zimmer's" score to pirates 3 on iTunes. it is pretty funny.

Trevor McFur said...

Dang, thanks for the pic palmer. I gotta say, that's not quite as jarring as the first time I saw Bob Barker once he decided not to dye his hair anymore.

Jordan said...

This video has been making me laugh for days.
