Kim flyin' solo - you stud.

Now I feel bad for posting my seg separately - didn't mean to abandon you :( Spoiler seg will be up tonight or tomorrow though - I promise!

Jordan said...

Just listened. Wow Kim. I'm impressed. Doing a solo show is not an easy thing. Yet you banged that out like a pro. Oh wait, you are a pro. :P Good work girly. Not that any of us should be surprised.

[ally] said...

"Yet you banged that out like a pro."

that's what he said.

elias said...

Kate & Sawyer are hot, dirty and sexy - I agree with Kim Solo :)

Good job, Kim. Speaking into a mic by yourself is certainly difficult. You nailed it.

[ally] said...

"yay! rah! we're boyfriend and girlfriend."

hehehe

Jordan said...

lol. That part cracked me up as well. Kim was certainly into it.

PalmerEldritch said...

huzzah! kim and mb, you two rule. why? cuz you somewhat dismissed the time dilation theory. i always feel like a jerk harping on how i disagree with it but it's a LOST pet peeve of mine. which probably means that i'm completely wrong and that there's some major time dilation going on. :)

kim, you did a great job all by your lonesome. reminded me a bit of your LOST Diary back on the SAS. which reminded me of your Radio Voice(tm). good stuff.

aimee was missed however. we'd never forget aimee.

hey, if the time dilation theory is my LOST pet peeve, does anyone else have a LOST pet peeve? hate a certain theory or character? the number 8 take a dump on your pillow or anything? share the hate.

[ally] said...

who knew i'd ever be so entertained by listening to kim counting numbers.

Palmer, I'm right there with you on the time stuff. And like you said, prob makes me wrong. lol. I also don't like all the magical/paranormal theories. Not that I don't think they are possible, but more because I really don't want "magic" to be the reasoning behind everything on this show. To me, it's a lazy cop out and just kinda stupid.

I have a pretty good Lost pet peeve. But I'm a bit afraid of mentioning it. As I will likely just come off as a jerk. But fuck it. This is the internet. And who the fuck are any of you? :P Ok, so my pet peeve is Lost nerds. There, I said it. And yes, it is not lost on me that I am typing this on a Lost fan spot on the internet. But hear me out. I do not consider myself or most of the people on here Lost nerds at all. We are more Lost dorks. I've explained this to Kimberley before. To me to be a dork is to like dorky, not so normal things and to be somewhat into them. But to also at the same time be balanced and into normal, more mainstreamed things. But to be a nerd is to be WAY into different type stuff and to obsess to the point where you really are pushing it. And nerds tend to be only into their nerd stuff and nothing else. Talking about Lost in the manner in which we do here, making stupid theories and cracking wise, that's all good dorky fun. But the degree that some of the nerds out there go, that just baffles me. To theorize and speculate to the insane level that some do about things that odds are the writers and producers haven't even given as much thought to yet, to me is really ugh. Yeah, I know. Shut up ass face. I guess it just annoys me when people go to such crazy lengths to try and come up with answers to questions that most likely do not have ones yet. With me, I'm all about identifying the question or situation and throwing out a crack pot theory. But that's where it ends. I'm not going to drive myself insane trying to justify things that aren't meant to be answered yet. I am totally cool with being dumbfounded and riding the ride and getting the info at the pace the writers mean it to come at. But just know that this all is the reason I love the blogspot and the podcasts here. They don't obsess to the insane nerd level that most Lost message boards do.

(steps off high horse)

WOW. HOLY DORK RANT! YIKES! Sorry bout that.

[ally] said...

whatever kim! i sent you a jin!

LOL.

Jordan said...

Dangit Palmer. Why did you need to go and do that. I know that my response wasn't what you were getting at, but it elicted my reaction no less. Something that I've always felt. lol.

Oh and I forgot to post this a while back. My crack pot theory. Locke is going to be one of the Oceanic 6. Why? Because it wouldn't make any sense. And people would be so confused. And that's exactly what this show is about. Plus, for this show to continue to be so good, it's going to need to have it's best actors and most interesting characters the center of the story. And what better way to do that than have John Locke back in his wheelchair off the island? Just think of all the questions. What on earth happened to get him to leave his beloved island? Did he do it on his own will? I'm probably wrong. But I think it would be awesome.

t-dot kim said...

Ally, I swear, no Jin arrived in my box! (easy set-up)

...LOL!

[ally] said...

i sent a desmond for aimee and a jin for you.

i'll send you an extra jin for next valentine's.

PalmerEldritch said...

"yeah, i made it off the island... and i was never paralyzed!! it was a long con! i fooled all your asses!!!!" - john locke in his Oceanic 6 flash forward

dont worry, fellow blu-rayer jordan. the "mirror matter moon theory" nearly triggered the same reaction from me. it was dolled up in the lovely evening gown of theoretical science to distract the reader from the fact that it's a theory about a superdense intangible "mirror matter" moon with an orbit that goes through the earth. yeesh.

kim, i hope you got my American Gladiators Valentine and it didnt get stuck in your junk folder. at least not before you read it.

I felt that was warranted after the excess numeriosity of the last episode and the recent podcasts.

Great job Kim! We missed you Aimee. It's not as fun to be shipping alone. That's what Jack said.

I'm not sure exactly where Jordan is drawing his nerd/dork line, and is it really good to be anywhere on that continuum? But I would agree that people who go to such lengths as to flame others over something they have no control over are taking things a bit far.

Holli
/Hanging out just to the left or is right of the nerd/dork line (or is there actually a Barney Stimson hot/crazy scale at work Jordan? You have to scroll down to see the graph. I don't know why Barney doesn't have permalinks (blog dork.)

mb said...

I'm with Jordan on taking the theorizing too far - indeed there are message boards and forums which are a bit much for me to take.

My pet peeve this week - and I know I'll probably end up being the jerk for saying it in the end - is the guy who insulted Producer Ryan on the Dharmaline. I guess it just hit a nerve partially because I know how much work Balph and Ryan put into the show, and how much time podcasters (me less so) put into giving out FREE ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!
Jebus whoever you were - it's FREE for gods sake! It's like complaining about a certain food at an all-you-can-eat buffet.
I just think it's pretty shitty to go out of your way to call in just to insult someone.

(breathe) Alright - thanks for your time. Rant over.

Stephanie said...

Kimberley, I sent you an email that I expected a response for last week. You may not be getting all your mail.

mb said...

I should of course specify that this and the SAS forum are NOT the places that are "a bit much for me to take" in case it wasn't obvious.

Also, I just realized I should ask Kim and make sure all is well with our miss Little Rock - I assume she was just busy this week?

I'm looking forweard to the Lost Initiative Kim solo show...will listen tonight I imagine.

I also agree generally with Jordan re the over obsession some people have.

I just want to say that I disagree with Time Dialation.

My basic isea is that the Island is secret, as it has been hidden in time. Dependign which bearing you leave it, depends which time you reappear.

When Desmond fucked up the button, the Island reappeared "pretty much" in present day...maybe only about 35 minutes behind real time? This competing organizations who were trying to gain control of it are suddenly on their way to regain control of it.

Some cast members will be revealed to have been from the future all along!

Finally:

Walt, is young Michael! Michael is old Walt!

hey, re: LOST pet peeves, we've got a "Rubbish Things on LOST" thread on the blogspot (started by chris?) which is remarkably similar but dealing more with LOST proper rather than fandom. anyhow, let's continue our LOST pet peeves here cuz it's pretty interesting!

complain!

Mattastic said...

My biggest pet peeve about Lost is that it's only on once a week!!!

Palmer, I'm slightly embarassed now that I put the link to the mirror matter theory on this site. I really didn't read it closely before I linked it. There's some stuff in it I like, but c'mon an alternate moon??

Jimmy, I fully agree with your ideas about the island being hidden in time. I've thought that for awhile. And would explain why Daniel explicitly reminded Frank that he needed to leave/return on the same coordinates.

I may as well post FOUR in a row:

to balance out the dark side of the force - here's a lame joke from
Comedy Central.com

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his cell phone rang.

Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, "Herman, I just heard on the news that there''s a car going the wrong way on Route 280. Please be careful!"

"It's not just one car," said Herman, "It's hundreds of them!"

PalmerEldritch said...

mattastic, i dont blame you for the Mirror Matter Moon theory. i almost posted a disclaimer that its one you found not one you cooked up.

i really liked your theory that you sent to the Transmission.

pretty sure it was you. right?

mb said...

Let me second Palmer - I keep going back to that idea as well Matt - that different exit/entry points onto/off the island result in putting you at different places in space and/or time in the real world. At least...I think that's what you were saying - lol. IS that what you were saying?

PalmerEldritch said...

my theory as of right now:

the time/payload issues are caused by traveling through the electro-magnetic/magic buffer around the island and not taking the "precise coordinates." time on the island is the same as time in the real world.

Jordan said...

Magnets. Lots of magnets.

Mattastic said...

Yes, I'm the same Mattastic on the Transmission. (There can't be two dorks that would call themsef Mattastic) There's always good theories in their comments sections. And, yes mb, you have me right on my thoughts about entering/exiting the island and its relationship to real time.

Speaking of The Transmission, someone cut-and-pasted the transcript of Ben and Michael's conversation before Michael took off in the boat in the Season 2 finale. Ben tells Michael to follow a compass bearing of 325 and they will be rescued.

Ben's instructions are vague and could mean one of two things. a) that a compass bearing of 325 will get you "out" of the island, or b) that the compass bearing of 325 is where the freighter is. And, like many of us believe, that means Michael is the man on the boat.

Malcolm in RVA said...

jordan, i totally agree with you. if i had read this when i was a kid, getting picked on on the playground, i would totally be pissed off, but now, i get kinda annoyed by over obsessing nerds. and i consider myself a dork, or a geek, but not one of those nerds that sits in the back of the game store playin d&d and shit, or doing all this crazy numbers theorization. still, i give respect to those who are super nerdy. i just dont like talking to them.

but anyways, high five to jordan for saying whats on everyones mind.

my lost pet peeve is kate. i know everyone loves her, and even a blind man could say that she's hot, but i just really hate her character. she can never make up her mind on which dude she wants to fuck, and she's always blowing off the one whose jizz is less pleasing to her at the time. i really hope sawyer and jack realize that they should both just give up on that bitch and move on to one of the other billion hot girls on the island.

i am also bothered by all the crazy theories. the time dilation is right on the cusp of what i will accept, if its pulled off right. but i really hate the ones like "oh, jack has a time machine, and when he said "we have to go back" he meant go back in the time machine" or any of that shit. i also hate it when theories defy what the writers have said like "the flash forwards are just a possible reality or a dream" when lindecuse have said "we will not have possible realities or reveal that everything was just a dream" just give it up, guys.

done with my rant...

Malcolm in RVA said...

oh, and i agree with mb too. not to sound like a suck up, but thanks to all you guys that give me my free entertainment. without you guys, my life would be a hollow shell of a life.

and the dharmalars should get ryan a mic. he doesnt have to participate fully in the show, but i'd like to hear all his silly comments, so ben doesnt have to repeat them. we all love you ryan, other than that douchebag, and were all happy to have you back...

...other than that douchebag.

Malcolm in RVA said...

and i like the magnets theory. or the 325 bearing theory.

oh, i have a book to recommend. its not lost related, but its very fun. its called "i hope they serve beer in hell" its about an alcoholic douchebag who runs around and makes fun of people, picks up drunk girls, goes to strip clubs, and tells a shit load of funny stories. if anyone wants to sample some of his stuff, i think you can go to

tuckermax.com

ive never been, but im sure its pretty similar to the book. ill check it out now.

PalmerEldritch said...

"really hope sawyer and jack realize that they should both just give up on that bitch and move on to one of the other billion hot girls on the island."

heheheheheheheheheh. right on, Silent Bob.

of course, Jack better steer clear of Claire. although maybe they could sing "Afternoon Delight" at JizzIsland Karaoke Night?

and the ghost of Christian Shephard could look really unsettled in the audience.

/one more season of AD to go!

Malcolm in RVA said...

shit. the website is exactly the same thing as the book. good thing someone got it for me for christmas. i wonder what that says about that persons opinion of me...oh well.

pants_story.phtml#277

thats the first story on the book. its really funny.

and can someone tell me how to make a link on blogspot? i use to know, but i kinda forgot.

memphish said...

I'll second Silent Bob's nomination of Kate as a pet peeve. 1st season Kate was awesome. She flirted and got guys to do her dirty work if needed, but mostly she was taking care of numero uno and she was fricking smart enough to come up with robbing a bank just to get a toy plane. Ever since S2 though she's been nothing but a ditzy girl who can't make up her mind and can't stay out of traps. She's become completely cliche right down to all the underwear scenes and both Jack and Sawyer would do well to steer clear of her. Of course if they'd stop killing all the women off the show they'd have more people to spread the cliches around on, but no. Looks like Kate might be the only female type to survive this ordeal.

Now my rant is over. If you haven't watched Season 1 of Dexter -- watch it. It was awesome. You can watch it on your computer if you have Netflix and Internet Explorer.
