Dang. Somebody kicked butt getting that done so quick. Nice job Canada.

At little rusty, but we got the hang of it...it was like riding a bike.

Sorry for the delay folks. Aimee & I had Superbowl parties to attend, and could not record after the game :P

PVR = Personal Video Recorder = AWESOMENESS

Can I request that from hereon the Island faction who chose to side with Locke be referred to as the Locke Pickers?

Now, what about Dr. Shepherd's bunch? The Flock?

MB said...

Kim - very happy for you re: the PVR. I could not agree more. That thing quickly became one of the most valuable appliances in my house. I LOVE my DVR.

the Jack Pack?

Which group did Desmond go with? I can't remember and I can't rewatch at the moment.

Locke Pickers and the Jack Pack are fantastic names. good work, guys.

don't forget Mickey and Pablo.

today, we are all Sawyers.

PalmerEldritch said...

oooh... Locke Flock's catchy too...

hmmm... can we use both?

Des went with Jack.

That's what I thought. Odd given how upset he was that it was "Not Penny's Boat."

Great job ladies! Not completely sold on the new tagline/t-shirt slogan. Still, it's good to hear the 2 of you laugh it up.

And MB, Mac sounds like he needs an attitude adjustment. I like to slap my PC around, not that it seems to help, but sometimes it makes me feel better.

t-dot kim said...

I also found that interesting that Desmond went with Jack--but I guess if you really want to go home, you go with Jack

memphish said...

It just strikes me odd, and I think it's mainly a problem of not enough time and exposition being boring that Desmond who was all "we've got to warn Jack!" was essentially ignored the rest of the episode and after warning stuck with him.

We've got tornado warning sirens going off, but at our house it is dry and calm. I'm so glad it's not Thursday. Tonight will turn out to be election coverage interrupted by weather coverage. Glad I've got Arrested Development to watch.

The noise the tornado that took down a wall of Sears here in Memphis probably made.

All is well in my home, but the county got hit pretty hard, and Kiddo and I did resort to our "place of safety." Plus, we may get more after it hits Little Rock later tonight. Everyone stay safe!

Oh, and LOST PSA. ABC's LOST site lets Sawyer give you a nickname. I want to say I saw this site 3 days ago and did not post it here because I did not like the nickname Sawyer gave me. I was busy beating Sawyer to a pulp and knocking down his tent instead of posting the link here. Should you like to have a Sawyer nickname visit the ABC LOST site (too lazy to get link).

oh! and Seattle Jimmy, really nice to get your segment twice a week (thats what she said... emphatically). great job. it's really cool to hear giacchino's music and get some insights on what we're listening to. i'll admit that while you're training me to recognize the themes and the instruments, i completely zoned out during the last episode since my mind was on overload with more LOST for the first time in so many months. this week, i'll try to keep my ears tuned during the episode.

Excellent podcast. You guys had me laughing. Thanks.

Good theory about Hurley too. Why was he being arrested? All he did was run out of the store. And his sanity should still be in question. After all, less than 100 days ago his imaginary friend was trying to get him to commit suicide.

Oh yeah, either my new set of $10.00 ear buds are much better quality than my old set of $10.00 ear buds or Kim has pumped up the volume on the music. I could hear the music much better now. It was great.

Good job MB I'm still spoiled rotten and loving it. BTW I really enjoyed the last podcast as well where you spoiled the whole season.

Did I forget to tell y'all about The Transmission? I posted it a couple of other places yesterday. Guess I'm a Bubblehead after all.

Waiting for the sun to rise to get clear shots of the tornado damage. It sounds like Jackson, TN, 80 miles northeast of us, got it worse. The 2nd floor of a dorm was ripped off and a retirement home hit. People were killed in Arkansas too.

The worst part was how long we had to worry about it -- from about 4 pm until after 10 pm. Then finally the last line of storms moved on and they turned the sirens off. I hear it's headed to Alabama now. Stay safe Steph!

I just watched the Official Video Podcast and noticed that producer Kris has Luke and Laura from General Hospital Wedding memorabilia on his shelf. I loved the scene with Jack and Kate at the cockpit thinking of Charlie. And then in true Lost-style the helicopter abruptly lands. Damn you, Lindeluse.

Trevor McFur said...

I thought that they had a lot of nice little details, like that scene next to the cockpit. Jorge did a wonderful job showing Hurley's grief too. One of the things that bothered me about the season 2 finale was that AL & Libby's deaths were kind of just brushed over with so much else going on, but they really did a good job showing the Losties reacting to Charlie's death this time. I think that Jorge probably gets overlooked a little bit as an actor because of the 'funny fat guy' thing, but I really hopes he gets some recognition and at least an Emmy nom this year.

FutureAlly said...

I can't believe I'm listening to Ryan & Jen, it's been so long!

Jordan from the 206 said...

Wow. Lots-o-shit going down. Congrats, well wishes, and stay safe to all.

Holy crap Anonymous. TLI on the front page of iTunes? Wow. Even if it is next to that garbage ass Generally Speaking bag of shite. Congrats Aimberley. Be sure to remember us little people when you've made it big. And I read the user reviews along with the Dharmalars. Who the hell is the idiot who gave Ben & Ralph one f'n star? That guy sounds like a little bitch. Everybody be sure to go and flag his review not helpful. Lameness.

Speaking of TLI, I listened to the show yesterday. MB couldn't have said it better. Nerdarific indeed. Maybe it's just the extremely long break and I don't remember very well. But this show seemed extra nerdy to me. I love it though. For us non-Lost nerds who don't catch that shit, it's neat to be informed. And for the record, I disagree with t-dot kim. I do not think that Desmond Mobay/Lt. Daniels is made up and in Hurley's head. Maybe a couple of his looney bin friends who talk to him, but not everybody. If that's the case and he is really that crazy, why not just say that he isn't even in a mental institution at all? And that he's just sitting in an empty house. But I guess you could be right. Def a good crackpot theory. Aims, so nice to hear you gushing about Lost again. You are one of the few people whose excitement about the show is infectious and makes me even more excited myself. And again, thank you for driving me crazy yesterday. As I had Carribean Queen stuck in my head for about 5 hours. Thanks a lot.

Jordan from the 206 said...

One more thing.

I was thinking the other day about something. I haven't seen anything regarding this online. Albeit this is the only place I read about Lost online. But anyway. You've all probably already thought this to yourselves. I'll give it a go anyway.

You know in the season 3 finale when Jack attends the funeral. And when he is asked if the person in the coffin is friend or family, and Jack says neither? Doesn't it make sense that Jack's response is all part of the Oceanic 6 cover up? Just like how Hurley didn't admit that he had ever met Anna Lucia. Everybody has been trying to wrap their head around the "neither" reply for months now. But it could totally have zero meaning now. Just thought I'd state the obvious as I don't remember reading it.

Trevor McFur said...

I hadn't thought of that. Of course, I haven't been doing much websurfing or podcast listenin' over the past week. Maybe the coffin person is one of the 6? Or someone from the island who's NOT one of the 6, and s/he being off is part of the secret?

Trevor McFur said...

What's interesting too is that now they can 'kill' a character in a flash-foward, and still have him or her stick around as a main character until the island story and the flash-foward story intersect with one another.

t-dot kim said...

Thanks 206. Thanks. I stand by my crack pot theory...for now.

memphish said...

Jordan, what your saying about the coffin goes along with what I'm thinking. I think Michael and Walt get off the Island, but aren't part of the Oceanic 6. I think they return to LA and live under assumed names. I even go so far as to think maybe it's Michael with the assumed name who returns the Oceanic 6 to civilization, and then I think it's him in the coffin. I think Kate doesn't care that he's died because she still sees working with Michael as making a deal with the Devil or Abaddon, as the case may be. I also think that's why Big Mike doesn't know Ana Lucia lived through the crash. As part of Michael agreeing to rescue them, they agree she died in the crash.

And all that is totally spoiler-free speculation from my own nutso mind. LOST tomorrow! Yeah!

Holli

MB said...

Really good points Jordan and Holli. It also occurs to me that, in the last scene of TTLG, Kate could have said "Why would I go to the funeral?" as part of the Oceanic 6 cover-up as well. While Jack went to the funeral but lied about knowing the person, She wouldn't even go (to be safe).
Alternatively, if she is still in legal trouble, she may just be trying to lay low.

Jordan from the 206 said...

Hence Jack having to meet her in a middle of nowhere place. ;)

stephsmith said...

When rewatching Through the Looking Glass, I realized the only reason Jack went to the funeral was to see if Kate would show up. Another thing I caught on the season 3 rewatch: there are different degrees of specialness. Some are very special while others are just plain special.

amomynous said...

huh?

PalmerEldritch said...

i think we won't know why jack went to the funeral until the final season or so. :)

special people: Locke, Ben?, Walt, Michael?, Hurley?, Rose?

Locke can hear Jacob and heals

Ben can... pretend to see Jacob? and saw his mom

Walt can bilocate, kill birds, and throw knives with magic powers, and kicks ass at backgammon

Michael being special seemed to be a possibility according to Bea the Other... did she test his blood?

Hurley sees Dead People and was harassed by the magic cabin

Rose heals

oh. and here's my semi-crackpot theory, Danielle gave Alex to Ben. he convinced her that Alex would be better off with him. maybe by leading her to believe that that she had "the sickness' and wouldn't be able to take care of her kid

Jordan from the 206 said...

Palmer, I think you might be onto something. I can totally see a scenario where Danielle willingly gave up Alex to Ben. At least originally. Ben probably promised certain conditions, only to reneg on them later. Thus causing Danielle's disdain toward Benny boy. I wouldn't be suprised to see a flashback where this took place. Danielle knows she can't properly take care of a baby in the jungle with the sickness around and all, so she gives her to Ben to look after. Then a few years later after she is convinced there is no longer a sickness, she goes to get her child. Ben pretends to not know who she is and refuses to give Alex back. And so on.

Jordan from the 206 said...

So do we think Kate is one of the 6? Under a different name? Or is there the 6 and then Kate off to the side, hidden? I'm thinking she isn't one of the 6. And that's why she had to meet Jack in a dark hidden place.

TV sure sucks on Wed nights now. Good thing I got The Wire to watch.

stephsmith said...

I'm watching King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters. It's fascinating.
Watched Mysterious Skin and December Boys today. I recommend sticking them all in your queue.

Jordan from the 206 said...

King of Kong is great! I recommend that one to all blogspotters. Billy Mitchell is truly the devil.

memphish said...

Carolina/Duke is on people! Actually I don't care about it that much, but as Jordan said, Wed. TV sucks and besides it is in beautiful HD.

Jordan, I've been thinking that about Rousseau, Ben and Alex since the episode that Locke blows up the sub. Alex warns Locke that Ben gets you to do things he wants you to do by making you think you want to do them. That was Ben's own admitted plan with Jack wanting to do the surgery. I would not be at all surprised that Rousseau willingly gave him Alex. I also think that guilt of giving her up explains why she hasn't worked that hard in 16 years to get her back. Danielle has done more and seen more in the last 80 days on the Island than she'd done in the previous 16 years. There needs to be a good, okay, some explanation for that.

Holli

t-dot kim said...

I don't think Rousseau gave up Alex. Didn't one her traps capture Ben (Henry Gale)? Wouldn't she recognize Ben if she gave her child away and question him like she did with Sayid?

redrabbitblue said...

That how she new he was an other! Maybe and wanted Syiad to torture him in hopes he may come across Alex were abouts. In short she probly felt Syiad could do better with benry then she could.

PalmerEldritch said...

kim, that's why my theory is semi-crackpot. maybe crackpot. but in three years, we'll know!

i'm willing to wait it out. :p

i do like your hurley's imagining up more than just charlie theory. maybe not everyone and everything in the institution but its certainly possible that the one inmate that saw Charlie was imagined up too. of course, this IS lost so i guess it's possible that Charlie was a manifestation of a smoke munster who abhors sonic fences and protects a magic island while traveling through vents.

memphish said...

Sanity/Insanity was a huge theme of the episode. Jack repeatedly called Locke crazy. Hurley said he wasn't crazy. Jack acted crazy. Jacob's cabin acted crazy. The sane thing to Hurley was getting locked back up. Seeing Charlie -- crazy? I don't know which end is up.

But I think Abaddon was real. The nurse was real. The Connect 4 patient was real. The guy who saw Charlie was in Hurley's head. Charlie was in Hurley's head. Hot Jack at Santa Rosa was real, and damn it, if he wasn't can he get into my head? (Set up for you Ally.)

New LOST in 22 hours!

MB said...

Jordan, Holli, Palmer, Kim - re: Danielle giving Alex to Ben - I remember the blogspot having this conversation about a year ago and I seem to remember that we all agreed that something fishy was up with how she had been on the island for 16 years but claims never to have seen the (now destroyed) flame station where Mikhail was.

My idea back then (and I think it still holds) is almost what you all said -
right after her team died from "the sickness" she recorded the French message at the transmitter tower, and then had Alex 3 days later (just watched TTLG). My thought was (and is) that the Others found her (maybe because she changed the transmission, maybe because just because they found her and the team) and considering their interest in children, offered to take Alex saying they could protect her from "the sickness", and in return Danielle was never allowed to come after them or Alex - perhaps they even threatened harm to Alex if she did. This would explain why her knowledge of the island seems to be somewhat limited for someone who's been there for 16 years.

Ben may very well have been one of the team that came to Danielle which would explain her recognizing him. Or maybe Ben was doing something suspicious when Danielle found him (in "One of Them") that made her think he was an Other.

MB said...

Just looked back over the blog discussion for Enter 77 and Palmer said:

"Something to keep in mind about Danielle is that she said that the Smoke Munster was some sort of "security system." Why does she say this? For shits and giggles? It's possible. She is batshit insane. But it's possible that the Smoke Munster has been keeping her out of areas where she could have learned about the Others or DHARMA"

That still makes sense and is also possible - nice Palmer!
