i'm just posting to be a jerk and scare away any new posters. ;P

i'm just kidding btw. jokes.

Hooray for the return of the Dharmalars! I've been prepared to be blown away for some time now! (Ally together now... TWSS)

- i was just over at DarkUFO looking at the fantasy league stuff.
* i forgot i picked Walt. I was pissed at myself for that one & then i realized that with the future flashes the producers wouldn't have to hide Malcolm's age & growth spurt. It would actually be easier than glueing brillo pads to Matthew Fox's chin.
* I feel like a traitor for not picking Cindy. She's the love of my life and all, but her appearances in season 3 just didn't work and i have a feeling that it will be some time before we catch up with the Others again.

-saw an interesting comment that suggested the eye in Jacob's cabin could belong to Ben's dad, Roger. i'm doubtful that that's the case, but i like the idea a lot.

-why's the blogspot so quiet at 5 in the morning?

Stephanie said...

That's because most blogspotters are only active during working hours, Andrew. I, myself, am glad I checked iTunes before leaving for work. Having to go 12 hours knowing there's a new Dharmlars out there on the internet and not being able to access it would drive me nuts.

memphish said...

It's Saturday morning and I have new Dharmalars with a Jorge Garcia playlist -- all is right with the world!

And yes Andrew, you are a traitor for not picking Cindy. Hell, I picked Cindy! I picked Christian Shephard too. I should be looking pretty good come Monday when the results come out.

Man let's hope this umpteenth rumor of a settlement is true.

Went to see National Treasure 2 this afternoon. Why didn't you people warn me this movie was targeted to 10-year-olds? Every trailer was a kids movie. It opened with a Goofy cartoon. The best part of the movie was that Cloverfield was next door and every so ofter our theater would shake with the monster. Wanted to sneak out on the Hubby so many times.

If someone out there has read it when can I? After the next 7 episodes or after the next 3 seasons?

It was very nice of them to put spoiler warning on the cover!

As for reading the scripts I'm not an actor and I probly would read way to much into the small stuff.

But welcome please stay and chat it up spoiler free..I'm tierd of being the newbie!

I looked at our page on iTunes and noticed that our Perfect Record, as far as reviews goes, IS OVER!

What a shit reason to lose a half a star!

Chris JC said...

Hello chappies.

The YouTube clip was an official BBC one and has been prohibited from view abroad - same reason you can't watch the BBC's iPlayer in the US, and we over here in the future can't watch LOST on the NBC website.

Naveen's heroin talk says he was using for two years and makes specific mention of The English Patient and Kama Sutra - respectively 1996 and 1997. After that there's a string of American films, which is where he went into rehab, so he was clean for years before beginning LOST, which is probably why he gives such a damn good performance. As for how he comes across in interviews, I imagine he must just be a bit of a tosser - but a drug-free tosser.

Finally, spoiler and hint chat is discouraged as people come here to discuss what happens and theorise about future possibilities with the understanding that spoilers will not be encountered.

Worry not, though - not only does the inestimable MB have his own wonderiffic Spolier Blog, or SPLOG located , but also the Scott and Steve forum has its own "forward looking" spoiler thread - so you can discuss spoily things with many of the same folks as you will encounter here, with with the warm feeling of knowing you aren't ruining anyone else's fun who'd rather not know even the most minor thing.

Would they fly John Terry to Hawaii to film one short, teeny, tiny shot? Will we be seeing more of Christian Shephard in the near future?

PalmerEldritch said...

steph, i'd reckon that we're gunna see a shit-ton of Christian Shephard. which is good and bad cuz he's a good actor who does good work but it is getting a little ridiculous how many times that guy is on the show (ala Claire's and AL's flashbacks).

"What a shit reason to lose a half a star!"

that's what happens when you guys forget to rewatch the episode and don't take notes. you're getting sloppy. lol. jk.

Ralph- said...

The problem with the ** review is that they didn't bag on my poor performance, they bagged on the fact that our call in segment is on at the end of the show and that we dont discuss the calls. At least if they gave me a good reason i wouldnt be so pissed.

Steph, they flew John Terry out there for the Lost Missing Pieces. i am sure they wanted to put him in an episode. who knows if he will only be in only that bit as well. He may be there for a Jack flashback and since he was there already they threw him in another scene.

memphish said...

Kristen at E! interviewed Jorge after the episode aired, and he said he filmed the scene with him (Hurley/Jorge) in the chair and that putting Christian Shephard in it was one of those "need to know only" kind of things they added later.

Ralph - you'll be pleased to know you still have a perfect five in the UK iTunes music store with three reviews you've probably never seen (including one from Elias), and another to follow from yours truly in the next day or so.

Chris JC said...

For the record - I initially wasn't much of a fan of the listener line section, but that being the case, having it at the end is by far the most sensible thing to do, as if it bores you you can just turn it off.

It very quickly grew on me, though, and now I can't wait to hear Dre make that Eeeeeeeeeh! noise that he does.

Ralph- said...

i love Dre's calls! i usually post our shows right before going to bed. i usually listen to the show, checking for sound quality, when i go to bed. I was trying to keep from laughing my ass off, as to not wake up stevi, last friday while listening to Dre's call.

elias said...

Dre's call was classic (again) and Aimee's dream call was hi-larious too.

I'm foaming at the mouth in anticipation of TLI and The Lost Score.

Anonymous said...

I myself am not a fan of listen calls on podcasts. No offense to those who like them. But most are quite annoying. The listener calls ruin the J&J podcast for me. I swear most of the people who call into that show are part retard. I don't need to hear a bunch of morons pointing out obvious stuff to me and coming up with moronic theories. The dharmalars callers are a far more interesting bunch though. Not nearly as dumb and sometimes quite funny. That guy Dre is hilarious. I think Ralph putting them at the end of the show is a stroke of genius myself. Like Chris JC said, if you like them you can listen, if you dont, you can just stop. Best of both worlds. The stupid moron who gave the ** review is just a stupid self-important glory whore who wants his trivial phone call on a pedestal and glorified with feedback. Cry me a river. I agree with Ralph. Pathetic reason for a sub-par review. There are reasons to not like the show, but that is not one of them.

Ralph- said...

that's what i am talking about. Bag on the fact that we hardly talk about lost until the 10 min. mark. Or how we dont pick apart the show as much as other podcasts.

I personally do not listen to "listener feedback" segment on Jay and Jack. there is a reason why our show is set up the way that it is. I LOVED the transmission and am glad that Ryan (ozawa) geve me his blessing on calling our segment "You all Everybody"! i loved that MYOKOMw/SAS didn't do a Recap. We figured, if you are taking the time to seek out podcast, chances are that you have watched the show. as unprofessional as we are, we do want to make the show tight and concise. The Dharmalars are here to Entertain LOST fans!

good morning, blogspotters.

congrats to the NY Giants!

they have caused the unthinkable to happen:

they have forced Tom Brady to settle for pity sex from his billionaire supermodel girlfriend.

in other news, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!

i'm getting pretty darn excited about this week's episode of LOST. i guess its prolly not a Hurley episode, eh? i wonder if we'll immediately get hit with a flashback since we had a flashforward last week or whether they'll resist the temptation to simply alternate.

Rrb said...

The dish drawer?
It is a dish washer and drawer? So you can wash and put your dishes away at the same time!
Is there people who store there dishes in drawers?
There for the put the silverware in the cupboard?

Rrb said...

Palmer what do you think of an on island flashback?
Can't quite think of who or what it could be if it was, but it'd be cool!
My real quess I think Kate flash forward since Sawyer went with the other team. (I sooo would of if i was Sawyer, What the hell would I want to hang out with Kate, when Jacks around you can only be the toy for so long before the fun where's off).
So Kate has a bunch of turmoil to deal with..Plus I think they won't rush into Locke that all has got to be some great reveals and there going to have to spend a Whole episode on it.
But doing a Kate they can work in the newbies. We know kate well so there is'nt any back story that needs explaining..Much like with Hurley this week we know he likes the mental hospital, and has special friends.
Thats the way i see FF working thats why there is just the 6 I don't see Frogert, Rose getting F.F.
So ya My Guess Kate thats my final anwser.

PalmerEldritch said...

we've had at least one on-Island Flashback before. the michael episode where he hangs out with the Others and sees Walt for a few minutes. that was pretty cool.

kate flashforward might be cool.

maybe we'll get a Claire flash forward. Turniphead could be a little kid with crazy Walt powers or something. he could say creepy things like "Charlie says we need to go back to the Island."

Well done to The Giants of New Jersey.

I want to be the first to predict Naomi's sister will be her identical twin, although it's not very likely.

[ally] said...

Listening to Dharmalars now...

Naomi's sister being a twin is a good theory, Elias. That would be a semi-interesting turn of events.

Good to see a lot of new people joining us. Welcome newbies.

mb said...

Well let's hope there's truth to this rumor that there's a tentative agreement between the WGA and the studios this week.
Unfortunately no sign that Lost will be airing episode 4.09 any sooner - which would be sometime between March 27 and the end of time...if they stay on their current schedule :)

PalmerEldritch said...

Naomi's identical twin sister is... MAGNUS HANSO.

Forgot to say - excellent episode as usual.
To the anon poster above (a few days ago who defended the lame-ass ** review) - I'm going to assume you were just razzing and that that wasn't a barb. If it was a barb - I don't think you quite get what makes the Dharmaluminaries fun. Again, ignore my rant if you were just razzing.

Really liking the Naomi warning idea. Assuming the freighties turn out to be not so nice, then that has to be true - it seemed fishy to me that she would be that gracious after having lied to everyone. Plus getting knifed usually doesn't inspire goodwill.

mb said...

OH - also - JIMMY!! SO nice to hear you again!

memphish said...

Code for what though Ralph? "Some bald nutter just through a knife and back and despite the fact that I just climbed a tree, I'm dying anyway?"

I think the sister is real and she's going to link back in with the Pace brothers since Naomi, and presumably her sister, are from Manchester.

I also think that George and Naomi may have been "friendly" which is going to make George less likely to want to help the 815ers.

There's some talk out there that the 2nd time we hear someone on the phone (1st time Kate answers it) the voice is different, and perhaps there are 2 groups of people offshore. I hope that's not the case since Freighties is a lame name for the newest group and face it we are running out of good names for Other people. The fact that parachute dudes outfit looked like Naomi's hopefully means they were together.

Holli

Chris JC said...

I was about to say that very thing that Ralph just said there. But now that he has, I won't.

Instead I'll say: You UNDERSTAND the silverware? Cuckoo!!

Chris JC said...

That being the sister code thing - because my Gmail told me that was the last thing posted - stupid Gmail.

mb said...

...(stares down at shuffling feet)........[softly] ok, I'll stop using "Freighties"....

;)

She could indeed have a real sister and it could also be code.

Another thing that came to mind was, back in Man Behind the Curtain, we were all speculating what that powder (or dust or whatever) was that encircled Jacob's cabin, and that it may have been some kind of way to trap Jacob there. So now with Jacob's cabin apparently able to appear elsewhere - I wonder if that means what Hurley saw was a projection like Walt was able to do with Shannon.

mb said...

I should explain that idea a bit more. I meant that Jacob's cabin COULD physically be trapped at the location Locke and Ben went to, but, like Walt while he was held by the others, he is able to project himself elsewhere (there's a name for that phenomenon that I can't think of).

If this is what Jacob is doing and it's the same thing Walt was doing, then it makes even more sense why Ms. Klugh (back in Three Minutes in Seas. 2, I think) specifically asked Michael if Walt had ever appeared anywhere he wasn't supposed to be (don't remember the wording).

Trevor, That had to be AWESOME! What a game!

From everything I've heard, that wasn't your typical lame corporate Super Bowl with a bunch of uninterested fans. I hear that it was pretty crazy with NE and NY fans, which isn't usually the case. That along with the game had to have made it an amazing experience. What a game! I LOVED seeing Crown Prince Tom Brady get knocked on his ass time after time. And Bill Belichick/ Belicheat/Belichoke lose it and run away after the game. Suck it Pats. lol.

Jordan said...

Ralph's emailer's theory makes sense. It totally could have been code for "Shit is not hunky dory down here. Come prepared." Or it also could have been code for something like, "Mission accomplished. You guys are now free to make your move." Or it could've just meant, "Actually tell my sister I love her." Maybe the freighters will come to the island and reveal to Claire that Naomi was her half sister and that she loved her. lol.

Holli, I can save you waiting for Kimberley to give you an answer and that I don't think TLI has been recorded yet. What I'm told is it should be soon. Those girls got busy production schedules to work around. But I've been promised that it will be extra good this time. ;)

Jordan said...

Potential good news about a potential end to the strike, potentially.

However, I don't think we should hold our breath about Lost getting back to work anytime soon to be able to tack on a few eps to this season. I would be excited if they could, but I don't know how realistic it is. I've already read that a lot of shows regardless of it the strike ended a week ago have already decided that they are done for the year. And it's just makes sense to assume that one of the most expensive, biggest productions would be one of those.

My hope originally was that the first 8 eps would air as planned, and that they'd be able to get back to work in a timely manner. And that they could then air "Pt 2", the second 8 eps in Sept/Oct. And then start the next season next Feb as planned. But with the strike lasting this long, I don't know if that's a realistic hope anymore. They'd basically have to start shooting asap and shoot the rest of season 4 and season 5 back to back. Something tells me that isn't going to happen. We can dream though, right?

Hopefully if season 4 ends up being an 8 episode run, that means that season 5 is going to be 24 eps and not still 16. We better not lose these 8 eps in the long run because of this shit!

Jordan said...

Did I say potentially enough in that last post?

Jordan said...

"hey, jordan, how'd the Seahawks do? :)"

Palmer, That bothers me none right now. My plate of schadenfreude tastes damn good right now. lol.

Sorry bro. But there couldn't be an easier team to root against. Team full of cheaters, jerks, and pompous ass hats coached by the biggest dick in history. And yes, color me jealous. I despise the city of Boston's recent sports success. 3 super bowls in 5 years, 2 world series, the best team in the NBA right now, 20 some odd old titles over the last however many years. And all for a pretty loud mouth self-entitled bunch. Sorry man, you see. I live in a city and have rooted for teams my entire life were the best thing I have ever witnessed was watching my football team get screwed in the super bowl, watching my basketball team lose to MJ and the winningest team ever in the nba finals, and watching my baseball team lose to the f'n Yankees in the ALCS. That's it. Jack shit. The Sonics (who are most likely getting jacked and moved for Oklahoma fucking douche bag city) won a title a year before I was born. Besides that, Seattle has never won anything. Well besides UW getting a co-national championship with Nebraska in '91, but that doesn't count. So you can see why I have such hate for the current Boston fans who constantly yell "We deserve this shit! We didn't win anything for 15 years before all these titles. Call it jealously, great. I still hate the Patriots. And so does America. Hell, it's a commentary on the state of affairs when a team is able to make the rest of the nation openly root for a NY team. lol.

(exhale) rant over. ;)

Jordan said...

And I don't know about the rest of the board here, as it's not exactly a huge sports following crowd. But I loved watching Tom Brady get knocked on his ass all day. Bout damn time.(NE fans will revert to the usual "Tawmmy Brady nails chicks you couldn't daa jerk awf to ya fawking douche bag.") The main reason was during Super Bowl week reporters asked NY receiver Plaxico Burress his prediction for the score, Burress said 20-17. And lord Brady got offended. Not for Burress saying he thought NY would win. But because he had the audacity to incinuate that the all mighty Patriots wouldn't score over 45. Lord Brady's exact quote:

"We're only going to score 17 points?" Brady said before chuckling about it. "OK. Is Plax playing defense? I wish he had said 45-42 and gave us a little credit for scoring more points."

Excuse for a second.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Jordan said...

And Kirk. With all due respect. I mean nothing of it. Us fans on teams who don't win 3 out of 5 Super Bowls, we are forced to find happiness in different avenues. Just ask Trevor.

Hey yo. There's a spoiler thread over on the BBS now, right? So does that mean I should avoid clicking on the "last 10 posts" thing? I've done my best to know NOTHING about the upcoming season of Lost. I want to stay that way the best I can. Not knowing shit makes it so much better to me. I categorically disagree with some of the newbs on here who are saying otherwise. Nothing against newbs, you guys are awesome. I just don't like spoilers myself. I forgot to weigh in on that debate the other day.

PalmerEldritch said...

jordan, your hate of irrational sports fans has turned you into one. :)

anyhow, there's a spoiler thread and when i left it we were trying to figure out how to hide spoiler text from the ten most recent posts. Chris had a way to do that. but i think there's also a plugin for spoiler tags that could be added to the board.

He's a very good actor. He was briefly in Oz as Ally said, and he is/was (I'm only on season 2) a rather prominant character on The Wire. Very good actor. Very intense. He just fits in with Lost to me. I will say it for the 97th time on here, if you think you can stomach it and haven't seen Oz, go rent it. It's a really good show. And has a bunch of our Losty friends in it with this dude, Eko, and Michael. And for you Juno fans, the dad from that movie plays the leader of the Aryan brotherhood. Good times. He comes across very well in this - it's strange, I've seen him interviewed on TV and he's been fine but in print he always came over as a bit of a prick, but he HAS been subject to some pretty appalling interviews in the past so may be a bit prickly. In this one, he's clearly being interviewed by someone who gets him.

Two things:

1) Very minor spoilage (in fact I think even that is too strong a description, but be aware of it)

2) At some point you may need to read about It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

I'm voting today. I'm still not 100% who I'm voting for. Terribly ambivalent about who to elect local assessor. The good news about Calif. and NY voting on the same day as Tenn. -- I've only gotten about 4 of those calls. You know the calls I mean.

I spent the weekend watching Series 1 of Extras. I loved it!!! Series 2 arrives today. I can't believe other than the Xmas special that's all there is. Anyone know what Ricky Gervais is doing next?

Yes, I meant to say "Who's".
I'm not confident in my choice either. I can't decide if I should go with the underdog and throw away my vote or opt for the candidate who the myspace quiz said was my candidate.

episode 2 prediction
Locke and company arrive back at Otherville.
And
Daielle takes her first shower in 16 years!
Claire promises to give her a hair cut whens she's feeling better, but gives her a brush to work out some of those snarles untill then...

just amend the constitution and vote for arnold. if the predators ever attack, we need him and vice president weathers to kick some ass on our behalf.

Holli, I think Ricky Gervais' next project is a movie co-written with Steven Merchent. Don't know what it is about.

Stephanie said...

"This is really filling me with confidence for the future of the planet."

What? The fact that myspace plays such a huge part in the election of The Leader of the Free World? Do we still use that title?

Chris JC said...

I believe that title Is still used - and even if it isn't, the implication is mostly that POTUS calls the shots for the planet.

when we make first contact with an alien race, it won't be the Prime Minister of France who welcomes them to our planet, even if they touch down in Marseilles.

PalmerEldritch said...

chris, it'll be Tom Cruise who makes contact with them. he's been expecting them.

jordan and steph, i think the movie is something about Gervais' character being the first man to discover lying. This Side of the Truth?

Stephanie said...

Not that I'm not interested but I think you're getting me confused with the other Southern chick, p. Which being confused with Holli is a huge complement.

PalmerEldritch said...

d'oh!

sorry 'bout that steph and holli.

- Speaking of call-in segments in podcasts, I usually dislike (& sometimes skip) Jay & Jack's listener feedback segment, but there were some really interesting calls on the latest (along with the Jorge interview!) Some interesting questions:
* did lock still have the bullet wound? i can't remember & will have to check. It was at most a day or two earlier.
* Could Rousseau's true origin be with the Not Penny People from an earlier attempt at accessing the island? i'm not really sold on that, but i like it.

- I think the DarkUFO fantasy league stuff might be a little out of wack. My team (Locke, Juliet, Rousseau, Walt, Penny, Ethan, Christian Shepherd) were pretty well represented in the 1st episode but i ended up with zero points while anybody that picked Hurley (200) or Jack (65) wound up with a pretty good haul. Maybe i'm just a sore loser.

- suppose we won't be getting any Official Lost Podcasts in deference to the writers' strike. Hurley's appearance on Jay & Jack kind of made up for it.

- here in Pennsylvania, our vote doesn't count in the primary season. We have to just wait it out & see who everybody picked for us. As a bit of a political junkie it sucks big time, but we do get to host Groundhog's Day & decided if we're going to let everyone have spring, so there's that.

- Loving season 5 of The Wire. I want to caution everybody that hasn't seen The Wire yet, it's hard to get beyond the hype (often called 'the best television show, ever') but the magic of the show is the way it really crafts & wraps up a ton of plot threads over the season. So watching 1 or 2 episodes might not wow you (any more than a great episodic cop show might). Veronica Mars' 1st season was similarly well composed.

- Fiending for Thursday!

Chris JC said...

Ally, isn't it traditional to perform a particular action before beads get thrown to you at Mardi Gras?

mb said...

Wow - there are a couple of video clips I linked to at the SPLOG which I would love to get people's take on

mb said...

I should say - these are video clips from this Thursday's episode

Chris JC said...

Actually, Ally, it appears that there ARE some alternatives.

Jordan said...

Redrabbit, Sorry, but you are now known forever on this blog as the gay searcher. I wouldn't have thought of it that way myself, but now that you brought it up. lol. Just kidding man.

Actually, I already was told of this myself. I didn't notice it. But my brother who is also a big Lost fan called me up after the episode to point out Christian Shepperd in the chair and the two dudes holding hands. lol. I wasn't so sure at the time, but I've heard it from others. So I'm guessing it is legit.

I'm just hoping this doesn't become a "thing". You know, we'll be having some intense argument between Kate and Jack, and off in the background is Paulo and Mickey totally making out. Then in a scene where Hurley and Said are talking about what to do, in pop P&M asking if they can borrow Said's Sex and the City dvd's. And finally, Sawyer and Jin will be walking through the camp looking for supplies, and Jin starts to go into Mickey's tent, and Sawyer will go, "You do not want to go in there right now (WINK)" lol.

PalmerEldritch said...

i hope the Others don't complain about gentrification when Pablo and Mickey move into Othersville.

yeesh...

Pablo and Mickey are my new favorite characters. when will they have a flashback episode with Billy Dee Williams?
