and the podcast is as enjoyable as my bacon-filled lunch! mmmm...

I think that we record the show at the same time as the girls. If we record at 7pm Pacific Time, wouldnt that be around 10pm Canada Rock Time?

Did they record thursday night this week or are they doing it tomorrow? cause i could be on tomorrow.

I've just woken up. Looks like I'm putting this on my MP3 player and going back to bed again (I don't entertain myself sexually listening to the Dharmalars - it's just that it's really fucking cold over here)...

Tomorrow is going to be horrible. The guy I'm seeing is sick with the mumps and is still contagious.

Wait a second...

I kid Ryan. I kid.

Ralph, Haven't listened to the podcast yet. But that baconator pic is cruel. Just the other day I was talking here about craving a scrumptuos baconator. I ended up wussing out and not getting one. But now I feel it is meant to be. Visions of baconatory goodness won't escape my consciousness. "So it is written". Damn you Ralph.

Alls I know is if we ever have a blogspot get together, somebody is making that bacon explosion. Kim says hers didn't turn out that amazing. But I can't get the images of the first one I saw out of my head. I will be having bacon wet dreams until I ever do the deed.

I hope there's a TLI tomorrow. I'll be checking out ustream to see. My valentines is pretty open. Unlike Herlihy and his sickly friend, I ain't got shit planned.

scrdmnkydst said...

No, no, no...

My friend is sick, so i don't have anything to do today. The highlight of my day will be watching Fringe, BSG and Dollhouse.

Joy.

Hilarious that there was a new episode, two days have passed, and there's been more talk of bacon and Joaquin Phoenix than LOST. I'm haning with the Cajuns this weekend. Kid had 2 1/2 days off school for unknown reasons so we're visiting the sis and nephew in Baton Rouge. Hit NOLA yesterday to get some beignets and etouffee. Might hit a parade or two in Red Stick this weekend, but depends on the weather.

And for the record, my sister who is a casual LOST viewer, and even more so right now with an 8-month-old who's had a cold for a month, was in no way surprised that Hawking was Daniel's mom. So much for that theory.

As for the stories yet to tell, Kate's plane they wrapped up in Season 1. Someone should remind them. I'm satisfied with the Rousseau story. I'm content to debate who was sick, Rousseau or the team, though her stories from S1 don't quite add up to what we saw. Nor does it bother me that batshit crazy Danielle didn't recognize Jin or that she omitted the part of her story that included the disappearing man. Failure to deal with Libby in the mental hospital and convieniently having a boat and being very suspicious on Island will piss me off. But then again if they don't care about it it will probably be lame and we're better off without it.

happy valentine's day all you sexy blogspotters!

and the rest of you too.

jordan, for valentine's, go to wendy's and buy a baconator. remove the top bun and arrange the bacon in the shape of a heart. place the top bun back on and enjoy. the really romantic part is that the cholesterol will last a lifetime!

as for libby, meh. if it's not important to the story, i'm OK never knowing exactly what her deal was. but it would be nice to find out what was up with her if they can make it organic. or if they can explain it all in a throwaway line or too. :p

Ralph- said...

i think that we may get some Libby back story through Hurley. Or could Libby have been on the island Once Before, only to leave, only to set Desmond in motion with the Boat (way too convenient that she had a boat to give), only to return and die?

Ralph- said...

...she was crazy and watching over hurley. could this be another season 2 tie in?

PalmerEldritch said...

i think their refusal to address the libby issue PROVES that further instructions was a flash forward.

not sure how but, hey, it's my valentine's day gift to Ralph-.

Stephanie said...

Ryan, I'm not shocked. I don't know what I mean by that but I don't mean any offense.

ralph-, I was expecting a Push review. I'm sure DDK hears Jorge talking about The Dharmalars.

Friday the13th- I think I enjoyed My Bloody Valentine more. Nothing special but fun.

Stephanie said...

Holli, what more do you need to know about Kate's plane? I feel satisfied with that issue but not with Libby. I'm sure if I rewatched season one, I'd find more that I'm not too clear on .

scrdmnkydst said...

Steph - Maybe it's because i wasn't really hiding anything? I'm sure I've mentioned or alluded to it on twitter numerous times....

Stephanie said...

Maybe it's your fabulous sense of style.:)

scrdmnkydst said...

ah... stereotypes.

Jordan said...

Wait Steph. You do see his hair in that pic, right? Haha.

No Herlihy. I don't think it was really a secret. I remember you getting upset when Aimee said "Faggoty ass eyeliner" once. lol. This was just a bit more forward.

Bacon.

scrdmnkydst said...

That photo is well old... My hair is different now... and it's black.

It's not that I was keeping it a secret, it just wasn't worth mentioning and it never came up in conversation...

Also, I'd like to think that even if I wasn't a gay that I'd be a bit miffed at the phrase "Faggoty ass eyeliner". Oh, and it wasn't Aimee who said it, that dubious honour goes to Kyle from Kentucky.

Jordan said...

No need to be defensive Herl. I think we all agree with you.

Bacon.

scrdmnkydst said...

I wasn't being defensive...

PalmerEldritch said...

ScoJo as Black Widow?

ugh. i sincerely hope not.

in other news, Coraline is one f-ed up movie. reminded a lot of mirrormask. which makes sense since both are Gaiman stories.

hmm... my cat just jumped on my desk and i think she put her butt on my glass. good thing i was done with my iced tea anyhow.

Jordan said...

Is my avatar in poor taste considering Charlotte's recent death?

ScoJo in a superhero movie gives me Halle Berry as Catwoman vibes. Ugh.

Stephanie said...

Colaline doesn't look one bit interesting to me. Creepy kid's movies aren't my bag. Neither are uncreepy kid's movies. Have had my fill. Enjoying my kid's recent obsession with horror.

Jordan said...

Anybody watch Dollhouse? Got it on my dvr to watch. But I hear it's kinda "eh".

Mr. Bill said...

Doll house has potential I enjoyed the first episode.

Our new Lost edition podcast is up, in case anyone listens to our show. We are no where near the caliber of the Lars or the Ladies but we are having fun and I think we bring up some good points.

and Herlihy, I love you man, But not in a gay way. LOL

Any Idea if the ladies are recording soon?

Stephanie said...

Mr Bill, is that Peter Mayhew?

I loved Dollhouse. But not Eliza Dushku.

Stephanie said...

I get it. The Baconator is Death.

Unknown said...

Christian Bale vs Peter Griffin

Dollhouse was interesting although it was mainly setting up the show and characters. During the two hours on Friday, Fox was really trying to play up the sexiness of Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku as much as possible. I didn't mind this, but to me it says "Watch our shows because we're hot" rather than "Watch our shows because they're good." Hopefully the show gets more than 3 episodes, but I have my doubts. Not because of anything other than it's on Fox.

Yes! The Wookie himself! He was incredibly tall.
He was at the Omega Con last year in B'ham.
I also got to meet Richard Hatch (the guy from BSG, not the nude survivor guy)

I've got some more of the pix on my Facebook.

PalmerEldritch said...

found this on fark.com

but it seems somebody could give ralph- a lesson or two in movie quotes

annoying hockey announcer loves movie quotes

She blinded me with science! LMAO!!

Nice find Palmer

I found a History channel show about Carthage that is pretty interesting.

and an interesting link about what could be the writers inspiration for the Donkey Wheel.

Chris JC said...

Sorry to pull back to an earlier conversation, but I was bothered by the eyeliner comment as well, as casual homophobia winds me up possibly even more than blatant direct homophobia, and I'm only 70% gay.

Stephanie said...

It's good to know the donkey wheel came from somewhere other than out of Lindeluse's ass.
This year I'll meet you at Omega Con. Let me know when it's coming up. Last year I found out too late.

Stephanie said...

Chris, you're not gay. You're married.

Chris JC said...

Oh, I'm not really gay to any noticeable degree, but I'm still perfectly happy to discuss the visual merits of Josh Holloway.

My wife, though, is SERIOUSLY gay.

Things you don't expect to hear while watching The Simpsons:

JoeSC said...

Well, she did have eight kids... You arrange them head to toe in a circle and you have the making of an awesome DHARMA logo... So does that mean Nadya Suleman's vagina is a new DHARMA station?

Maybe The Tempest II because someone needs to render her inert before she's the end of us all!

Steph, i already did a review of push on my blog. I want to keep the show close to lost. To be honest with you i am getting really tired of doing the show. Hense, the big long break between con and hiatus show. The less editing i do the easier it is. I really like our show, it is just tough on me getting it up and out there. I work 10 hour days and come straight home with no dinner and ryan and ben are here, i pick up the mic and record. Last week i decided that instead of editing and posting right away that i would rather eat and watch thursday shows with stevi. Now i am getting up at 7am to put up the show before i go to work for another 10 hours. I work saturdays, so recording then would not work and i only get sundays off with stevi. so the show only has a small window of oportunity to record.

"but it seems somebody could give ralph- a lesson or two in movie quotes"

Huh? I should be giving courses on Movie Quotes. I think it is hilarious that i have gone from Movie Quotes, to Looking at my Blu-Rays to get ideas for movie quotes, to just naming off a couple of blu-ray titles that i own.

"thanks for taking refracted light!"

EXCELLENT find on that Donkey wheel explanation Bill :)

Ralph, I bet It was a lot easier to keep up on things when you didn't have a job. At least you have a job. Count your blessings.

Also, the donkey wheel thing is rather cool.

No TLI this week?

Just asking. Understandable if there isn't.

Ralph- said...

no, it's just my new hours. it makes it tough to want to do the show. if lost was on Mondays it show would be twice as long.

Stephanie said...

ralph-, we hate to hear that. We understand.

PalmerEldritch said...

make producer ryan or ben edit the show. make 'em pick up the slack!

then slap them in the mouth.

Jordan said...

"To be honest with you i am getting really tired of doing the show."

Ralph, Don't take this the wrong way. But your comments do not surprise me in the least. Still love the podcast. But I will admit that I've noticed a definite lack of enthusiasm from you so far in the new season. But I ain't complaining. Like Steph said, it's totally understandable. Podcasts are a hobby. And when people's "regular" lives get hectic, hobbys are the first thing to take a back seat unfortunately. Maybe you guys can come up with a new time or day to record that would work better? Like on the weekend or a day you don't have to work? Maybe it would be worth getting the podcast out a bit later in the week in exchange for a more workable setting? Just throwing ideas out there. Either way, we appreciate the hard work.

Ralph- said...

here's the thing Jordan, this week i have off from work. it is my first break in about a year and a half. I have also only called in one day in that time. I have this feeling that i am gonna be more enthusiastic this week. In fact i am glad that i will have more time to actually watch the show a second time and record earlier in the evening, if not do a morning recording.

Ralph- said...

and even comic con i was "at work", so that was barely even a break.

Also, did you catch that i mentioned Cher on the episode.?

JonFromNKY said...

I would love to do a podcast. But, I know I wouldn't have the time to keep it frequent.

I don't know how a lot of you guys do it.

Sunday is about the only day I have all to myself, and it's family time.

My hat is off to anyone able to have a full time job, family life, and all the other things in life, and still have time to produce a quality podcast.

If I ever hit the lottery, I'll take care of you Ralph.

Chris JC said...

I wish to add my voice to this debate. If you think it would be easier, why not record on a different day? It wouldn't be "late" if it was a regular slot - I like the idea that throughout the week, different podcasts would arrive, bridging the gap.

Unless my memory fails me, last year TLI would tend to come out the last, just before the new episode, and I really liked that - it made the waiting for a new episode easier to deal with.

Don't want you to run yourself down, Ralph. A few podcast hosts/producers I know are getting production fatigue. I've been offering help all over the option, so here I am again: let me know if I can help.

Stephanie said...

With work, school, cooking and cleaning up after my family, and trying to podcast I'm feeling the stress of getting shows out. I need to be studying tomorrow but instead I'm getting up at 0500 to edit.

JonFromNKY said...

Well the lottery offer will extend to you too Steph.

Mr. Bill said...

Ralph, hang in there man this week off will help you recharge your batteries and in a few weeks you will be thinking how could I ever get burned out doing this podcast.
I'm sure seeing Hurley wearing the lars shirt gave you a boost too.

Any news on when Ace of Cakes Lost cake episode will be out?

andrew. said...

- Ralph - sorry to hear about the fatigue but totally understand. We are, after all, posting on a messageboard for a podcast that faded out, and The Dharmalars & TLI were both results of that vacuum. I agree with others that, at least on my end, there is no demand for a podcast to be up so quickly.
I AM disappointed that Aimee hasn't gotten off of her lazy, broken ass and explained to us the deeper motivations of the smoke monster in episode 5x04. Have a car crash on your own time!

- Battlestar Galactica - Holy cow! I hope that the writers of LOST are able to explain their mythology as neatly as BSG did this week. It was a big information dump, but it was well thought out, enhanced the underlying themes of the show, and now i can get back to enjoying the characters instead of worrying if any of the mysteries are going to make sense.

- Terminator - I liked this episode, but i think I've resigned myself to the show's dreamy, slow, slightly aimless pacing. I understand why most people would be frustrated with the holding pattern the plot seems to be in, but I feel like it's taken a strange David Lynch-esque turn. I find it rather hypnotic and pleasant.

- Dollhouse - i don't want to write the show off straight out of the gate, especially with Whedon's tendency to get better as he goes, but I don't think this 1st episode did enough to grab me. Eliza Dushku never impressed me on Buffy, and, while I've never seen an episode of Tru Calling, I really question her ability to carry a whole show. Acting ability is one thing, but its mostly the fact that she doesn't have any on-screen charisma. All of that said, i'll probably watch it until it gets really embarassing (oh Heroes, you're such an easy target).

- This year is looking really bleak for movies. The only thing I'm at all interested in on the horizon is Watchmen, and since I know the story from the graphic novel, and it feels like they've been leaking the entire film in 2 minute clips, the only thing that seems to be intriguing is the coin toss of whether it will be a good or horrible film.

- The Ace of Cakes LOST episode is supposed to air in May. Jorge Garcia has pictures of the cake on his Blog.
