I think this episode is going to open on a plane crash. Hasn't happened yet this season.

I think 316 is going to represent a totally random thing that has absolutely nothing to do with anything LOST related

/but I've been wrong before

Herlihy said...

Wow. Is it just me who was taken totally unaware by the arrival of Lostnesday?

memphish said...

Anyone's Grandma look like Eloise? Not mine personally, but I do know some old ladies who could sub for her with their carefully coiffed buns and those old lady suits.

As for the episode title, I figure it will be as easy as a flight number, but also goes to the whole salvation, resurrection theme by tying into John 3:16. In fact I wish they'd stick that guy with the rainbow wig who goes to all the sporting events with the John 3:16 sign somewhere in the background.

White Chicken Chili.

I'm still holding to the theory that 316 will be the bearing the have to return on. We've seen bearings of 305 and 325, so 316 fits in there nice and snug...

T-minus 8.5 hours!!!

PalmerEldritch said...

healthy & delicious, you say?! looks good, holli.

herlihy, i think you're alone on that one. i've been eagerly awaiting lostnesday since... last lostnesday!

316 is going to be the amount of weight that Bernard will be curling when our Time-Fuckers run into him again.

Stephanie said...

Flight 316 on Ajira Airways?

I've had white chicken chili but less the peppers and cheese. Holli's version looks much more tasty.

Ralph- said...

i may agree with Kim on this one. it's probably a room number of where Sayid is hiding.

PalmerEldritch said...

joe, that seems a good theory. of course, the Ajira Flight 316 sounds like a good one too.

watch it be a reference on par with "Eggtown."

JoeSC said...

You bring up a good point... I completely forgot that Rose and Bernard were missing... Do you think they're just going to randomly show back up at the end of an episode and then they devote the ENTIRE next episode to telling the story of what happened to them while they were gone (ala Michael and Claire)???

I really fucking hope not... That might be my breaking point!

memphish said...

That mention of Claire makes me wish that Christian had said "Tell my son his sister says Hi."

Holli

Stephanie said...

ralph-, in between working a long day, watching Lost, working again and recording a podcast can you find out why I haven't received the Dharmalars shirt that I ordered last week?

andrew. said...

- "Tell my son that his wife should bring his sister's son back to the creepy island." "Wait, Who's your son? er... i mean... Who's your son's sister's son? er... who's your son's nephew? WHAT?"

- Rose & Bernard are taking Vincent for walkies. Either that or they're getting high in the Pearl Station.

- I think the next time that we see Richard Alpert (this episode or next week) it will be 1958-ish and he'll say something like, "Eloise Hawking! Fetch the official Others' branding iron and administer the Mark to you Charles Widmore here."

Jimmy said...

Stephanie,

My loom broke this week, so your shirt will be a few days late...sorry :(

JoeSC said...

Wow.. that' could be its own spinoff...

Rose, Bernard and Vincent take the DHARMA van and ride around the island solving mysteries that have nothing to do with Lost...

Their first episode will be the case of the missing peanuts (***SPOILER ALERT*** ...it was Miles...)

JoeSC said...

Or better yet... They actually solve ALL of the mysteries that we've been wondering for years because Bernard (in addition to his Morse Code abilities) is adept at time travel...

Maybe that's how Damon and Carlton explain away all of the mysteries they don't want to devote much time to... Just have Rose and Bernard explain them all when they finally make their return...

memphish said...

Well Rose and Bernard should be able to answer all the Dharma questions at least.

Tonight's opening scene

DESMOND: Eloise Hawking? i've been sent by your son

HAWKING: There must be some mistake, I don't have a son!

DESMOND: Daniel Faraday?

HAWKING: Oh, he's not my son - he's my nephew! Oh, Jenny!

From right of frame, JENNY FARADAY enters. Played by a clean-shaven Jeremy Davies in a dress.

DESMOND: Oh, brotha!

(Leaps into Buddy Holly)

MILES: and I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you people and that dog!

ROSE: What do you mean "you people"
shorty?

JULIET: Jinkies!

SAWYER: Where are my glasses? I can't see without my glasses.

DANIEL: Zoinks!

Thanks Joe!

Oh yeah!

Happy Birfday party people!

p.s. LOVE the scooby references with regard to rose and bernard. we saw a mystery machine on the highway once. all decked out in the crazy colors and fonts and whatnot. brings a tear to my eye...

Jimmy said...

Funny you say that Palmer as there is a Mystery Machine that cruises around Seattle too. Have seen it maybe twice. The complete replica...sans dog and hot redhead.

PalmerEldritch said...

no dog so the little kids don't chase the van.

no hot redhead so everybody else doesn't either.

College basketball is the devil! Like Aimee I must wait until 1:30AM to watch the new episode! Ridiculous!!!!!!!

(The original line by Charlotte was, "This FACE is death!")

PalmerEldritch said...

wtf?! that blows several types of ass. i'd be pretty pissed off.

only one ABC station in your area? we've got three. at least.

Jordan from the 206 said...

"why no ladies of the UK on the blogspot?!"

I've always wondered this myself. Seems we get plenty of dudes. Yet never one single female. Although maybe if we ask nicely, Chris will wear a wig for his next post.

/was gonna say Herlihy. But that would've been construed as mean. :P

memphish said...

Palmer, that's because if you hold your arms out of your car windows you'll be in 3 states. The rest of us, not so much.

Holli

Stephanie said...

Thank God this state cares nothing about basketball. Only sports that are played on the weekend: Nascar and college football. Now, I only have to worry about these thunderstorms.

Got a rad Lost ringtone on my new phone. Along with an awesome Christian Bale rant.

PalmerEldritch said...

yup. but i'd imagined that you'd have multiple stations in medium to large states. and i've got to be right about at least some of them.

anyways, that blows that they pre-empt LOST for college basketball. blech.

Stephanie said...

What is that picture over Ellie's head? I'm sure it's a famous piece of art I've seen before. Is it Jesus and John the Baptist or Jesus and Peter? I know nothing about art.

memphish said...

I'm just lucky the local ABC station doesn't carry the Memphis Tigers because they would come first. We do have SEC basketball on, but it's on a different channel.

We're in the opposite situation from you Palmer with TV. We're the hub that radiates out into 4 states. But where I grew up we got 2 sets of channels, Atlanta and Columbus, GA. I think the bigger your area the more likely you'll only get one set of channels perversely.

Note to the South (not you Steph). Driving in circles is NOT a sport. Just because you can get drunk watching it, does not make it a sport.

/Nascar hater

James said...

I finally listened to Damon on the OLP going on about the fans and mysteries that may or may not be explained...and I've come to the conclusion he's a douche!

Jordan from the 206 said...

Only one ABC affilate here Palmer. Pretty sure it's the same one for a good distance too.

College basketball during the week is almost exclusively on cable. So no worries here. Also, our sporting events aren't usually on so late for us, being way out West.

Joe and Aimme, you guys need to make friends with somebody in another part of the country who owns a Slingbox.

Jordan from the 206 said...

Sorry. Clementinesdaddy, not Joe.

Jordan from the 206 said...

Although, if they were to pre-empt Lost for the local college basketball team, I probably wouldn't mind. I think I'm one of the few big sports fans on here. Go UW!!!

JoeSC said...

I love college BB, but I would lose my shit if they pre-empted lost for that...

Jordan from the 206 said...

I must be the odd duck of the blogspot. I actually usually wait about 30 min to an hour to watch Lost, even without something better to do. Much better IMO without having to sit through the commercials.

Mr. Bill said...

Kablamo!

Wow!
We just had some rough weather here.

Tornado style weather with testicle size hail.

Luckily the power is back on and it looks like I'll be able to watch American Idol tonight.

memphish said...

LOST is about the only thing I watch as it airs, but on a first view I generally appreciate the breaks to digest what I've just seen. I really like how Fringe does it commercial breaks, announcing when they'll end. No one else has seemed to adopt it though.

Holli

JoeSC said...

I refuse to sit through commercials on any other show, but with Lost, it feel like the commercials are necessary... There's just some scenes where you need that two minute break to recover from... I can't think of any other show on TV that does that for me...

Jordan from the 206 said...

I know I was joking in the past thread about 316 having to do with Stone Cold Steve Austin. But if you actually think about it, Austin 3:16 does in fact say, "Trust no one". Wouldn't it be hilarious if the writers referenced professional wrestling after all these snobby literary references? lol.

memphish said...

Testicle sized hail. Never heard that one before.

We had cat testicle sized hail last night, but today's been lovely. Unfortunately winter, albeit Memphis winter, returns tomorrow.

Holli

Mr. Bill said...

Well that didn't quite work right.

That Kablamo will sub for some we missed along the way.:P

JoeSC said...

I really respect the commercial break thing with Fringe... Most commercial breaks are only 60 seconds, and the only one that's more than 90 is the last break... I think that was a really smart move on their part.

JoeSC said...

Any time hail reminds you of testicles, it's safe to say you're better off inside!

Mr. Bill said...

I'm just curious are tornadoes mostly an American phenomena? I never hear news about a tornado in England.

Maybe it is true that tornadoes are attracted to trailer parks. I never hear of those in England either.

JoeSC said...

You'll mostly see them in the arid parts of the Middle East.. Definitely a rare, rare occurance in Europe, though.

JoeSC said...

More on Tornadoes from Wiki...

Although tornadoes have been observed on every continent except Antarctica, most occur in the United States. They also commonly occur in southern Canada, south-central and eastern Asia, east-central South America, Southern Africa, northwestern and southeast Europe, western and southeastern Australia, and New Zealand.

Mr. Bill said...

Thanks Joe! Looks like I was right about the trailer parks.

James Spann You better not F-up my stories tonight with your "There is a storm 40 miles away from you and I'm going to keep talking about it till your shows are over" crap!

I hate when that happens.

"why no ladies of the UK on the blogspot?!"

EXCELLENT question. Any lurkers? Come out come out....

RE: commercial breaks. I'm too damn impatient while watching. I don't mind waiting until 9:15 or so but once "LOST" flys at the screen I can't seem to resist skipping the commercials. I like the idea of having a few minutes to digest things, but the forward-skip button seems to have a finger-magnetizing force or something. I can't help it. ;)

Chris JC said...

I realise there's a new thread - and I'll go there later, but I wanted to share props for the fake spoilage. Very funny.

Quick note for Mr Bill regarding UK tornadoes - I recall hearing somewhere that as a percentage we have one of the highest numbers of tornadoes in the world, calculated by number of tornadoes on the surface area of the entire nation. Also, in all fairness, the tornadoes also tend to be smaller.

Tornado over Cumbria
Series of tornadoes including this one in Nuneaton, as well as this one in Hampshire and this one in Northamptonshire. Oh heck, Luton, too.
Birmingham.
London.
And tons more - but considering this is too many, I won't continue.

So yeah - much as everything else, we try but mostly our efforts are smaller and somewhat embarrassing.

Chris JC said...

I think Herlihy would happily wear a wig to post, by the way.
