Ah. . . TLI in the morning.

This week on Burn Notice I learned the real reason Kate wasn't Tom's type. It was because Fiona is his type and Fiona would own Kate.

i don't like how Kim mistakenly called Hurley by my nickname...

although i can understand... it's pronounced the same, just with a short "he" on the end...

t-dot kim said...

What?! When, H?

PalmerEldritch said...

Fiona could kick Kate's ass, yes.

But, damn, Fiona is distractingly awful on almost every level. At least she got rid of the horrible Irish accent for a horrible more general made-up accent.

TLI! w00t!

and i watched the heck out of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? as a kid so it'll be interesting to see if Rockapella can sing about things other than geography and coffee.

Herlihy said...

Kim - You did it in the middle of the lastest episode. During the Points Of Revelation, the one about Hurley, you called him by my name...

i'm only messing though! i'm not that fussed, if i was all pedantic, i'd ask for a retraction... i'l just settle for the boob shot you've promised the previous two weeks but "forgot" to do... :D

Fiona's disappearing belly button.

PalmerEldritch said...

too bad they can't airbrush the entirety of Fiona. :p

good show. bad casting on that one character.

why am i not listening to TLI yet? i'll go take care of that right now.

Chris JC said...

I'm gonna have to stay up late one of these thursdays to get into some TLI Live!

Stephanie said...

Why have I not listened yet? TLI will make buying groceries fun.

Ralph- said...

I am gonna go run some errands and listen.

I just got a email from the guys over at media junkyard. They interviewed DDK and apparently he mentions that he listens to the dharmalars. weird! They mentioned that they are going to try to get that episode up today.

I am also gonna go watch PUSH. Love going to the movies by myself

PalmerEldritch said...

i wonder what DDK and Jorge Garcia think of Producer Ryan's laugh.

and if they think he looks like Hellboy Creator Mike Mignola

/producer ryan laugh fan
//wonders about Mike Mignola's laugh

I like going to the movies by myself. Since I can't get my homebody family to go anywhere. I'm taking them out for Stix Friday night and to see Friday the 13th. I feel sure that they will back out on me.

Listening to TLI now - THANKS K&A :)

RE: the nosebleeds. Good theory fr. Aimee about travel to/from the island via submarine/yet-unseen-teleportation-device causing nosebleeds, however I was under the impression that the reason for the nosebleeds was if a person did not have a constant (i.e. which is I thought PARTIALLY why Daniel Faraday knocked on the hatch door and made contact with Desmond - and also to tell him to find his mother).
Based on Daniel and Desmond's discussions in "The Constant" I was under the impression that any human body would get nosebleeds and eventually brain-fry if they didn't have a constant.

memphish said...

I think as far as the time travel rules and the nosebleeds, we have to remember that Douchebag Faradork (loved that) is not necessarily a reliable narrator. After all, he's just theorizing and speculating, he does not know.

PalmerEldritch said...

do you need a constant if you're not a time traveling consciousness?

memphish said...

I think that's unclear, but if you do, I think Daniel isn't nosebleeding because he's talked to Desmond, his constant, Sawyer has connected by seeing Kate and Locke's is Alpert.

So apparently there are people out there who actually think that Desmond and Penny's Charlie is THE Charlie. I really want to say that this is the most ridiculous idea ever. But with all these time paradoxes and people meeting people in different time periods. Can you honestly argue against it? If Faraday can meet his mother when she was young, why couldn't Charlie meet his father in an earlier timeline? Welcome to the Donkey Wheel era of Lost, where ANYTHING is possible.

Such a hilarious show this week, girls. Kyle from Kentucky must call in every week.
I started to pick up a webcam while I was in Walmart at the time of listening. I would love to fill in for Aimee while she moves. But I'd love to hear Colleen or Ally though.

mb said...

RE: Charlie Pace being Desmond and Penny's child
......whaaa?!?!

christ. where'd you see that Jordan?

Charlie's dad didn't look or sound too much like Desmond in the flashback scenes of "Greatest Hits". Although the idea of Desmond becoming a hardened and burly butcher from Manchester is kind of amusing I guess - lol

Seriously though, I know I tow the line a lot re: Cuselof's idea of time-travel in this show, but I can't imagine them asking the audience to make that leap.

memphish said...

After hearing Kyle from KY on Jay and Jack, and the hosts' response, Kyle's calling out of J&J on TLI was warranted.

Holli

memphish said...

There's a theory on J&J today that Des and Penny's baby Charlie is Charles Widmore, yes Penny's father Charles Widmore. Of course, all the idiots who keep wanting Ben and Widmore to be brothers forgetting that we watched Ben Linus's travel down the birth canal are probably the ones who come up with these things.

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah... i skip most of the callers on LOST podcasts. but not Dharmalars or TLI!

kyle from kentucky sounds disturbingly like kige ramsey. they're each funny in their own way though.

Jordan from the 206 said...

I wonder if they're related. Probably pretty decent odds. :P

Holli, do people talk like that in Tennessee?

MB, Why couldn't Charlie have been raised by a different person? Maybe something is going to happen to Des and Penny??? Just saying...

elias said...

The best is hearing Kimberley & Aimee's running commentary on voicemails.

Lost is treading a fine line right now - it's better than Season 4 but is about as subtle as a brick in the face. I did like the Locke/ James scenes, future flash and Sayid's ninja moves. And I started this paragraph by complaining?

memphish said...

Jordan, the farther you get out of metro areas the thicker the accents get, but that's more of an East Tennessee style accent than a rural West Tennessee.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

what might be happening in the writer's room is that they might be saying "all this time travel stuff is confusing so let's give the casual viewer a break when it comes to making some of the connections." hence the brick to the face with some of the stuff.

also, elias, sweet beard.

Stephanie said...

Nice pic, Elias. How very Greek you are. I wish I could tan like that as most of my family instead of having pasty British skin like my granny.

Palmer, I wonder if ABC is pushing Lindeluse to dumb it down. But I don't know why they'd start now.

I think I had a really interesting theory while I was listening but have since forgotten.

elias said...

Damn those casual viewers!

Thanks for the beard-love, peeps.

memphish said...

They have to make it easy enough for the guys who write those pop-ups.

you mean these guys, holli?

mb said...

"MB, Why couldn't Charlie have been raised by a different person? Maybe something is going to happen to Des and Penny??? Just saying...

hmmmm....alright I'll bite. He might barely remember Des and Penny, and this might be a previously unknown explanation for why he never feels like he "belongs" in his family.

Possible - I'll grant you (although not set up in seas. 1-3 at all)

but I'm instead willing to put $$ down on your first analysis of the idea as ridiculous (hence my ridicule)

Jordan from the 206 said...

I agree MB. I hope it stays exactly that.

My only point was to point out one of the unfortunate results of time travel. Nearly anything is possible to semi-plausible now. The most absurd ideas could end up being explained. Takes away most of the fun in theorizing for me. And mind you, I've never been one for most of the crazy viewer theories. I rather theorize on what's actually happening on the show. But even the most logical theorizing is now kinda out the door. As the line between logical and ridiculous continues to blur. Just my own personal opinion. Basically what I'm saying is this new post-donkey wheel era allows for a whole lot more of the crazy theories to be taken a bit more seriously.

mb said...

"I wonder if ABC is pushing Lindeluse to dumb it down"

I totally think that TPTB @ABC are a big reason for the more telescoped reveals and certainly the pop-up episodes. It'll be interesting to see if the reaction to some of these things is negative enough that Cuselof may change course - although - they've written almost all Seas. 5 eps by now haven't they? Well maybe not then.

Kim:
"As soon as he (Desmond) saw Penny he jizzed in his pants"

LMFAO! I wonder if one could cull through seasons 1-4 for enough wide-eyed 'holy shit' moments on peoples faces to put together a fan video.

(i.e. another idea I wish I had time to execute)

Funny thing Morgan said while watching Burn Notice-
"They did good with the casting of Michael and Sam but... maybe if they had more money they could have gotten a better girl."

PalmerEldritch said...

whatever you're doing to raise morgan, don't change a thing. :)

The 1986 LA Dodgers were a very manly bunch. Don't believe me? Just watch their hit music video, "Baseball Boogie".

Can Morgan come up with a soloution as to why Heroes is getting worse with every consecutive episode?
