Sweet. That should be about the time I return from running errands. I've decided to go for quesadilla de maiz Friday rather than burger Friday.

some lost mythos to chew on while waiting on the black bean burger...

- so Desmond is special. okay, accepted. Is it because he made contact with his constant and is now healthy to time travel? Because Minkowski, Eloise the rat, and Teressa were/are travelling consciousness-only too, but just didn't fare so well. okay, but are we going to get an answer as to why some people travel body & soul and others take x-treme mental vacations?

- i want to believe that Team Rousseau is also time travelling, and that Danielle calls the temporal-displacement hemorrhaging "the sickness". The only issue with that is Kelvin believes in a "sickness" enough to run about in a hazmat suit and scare Desmond about it (Even if he ultimately never believed in it(?))

- it's suggested that the onset of the nosebleed is in direct relation to your time on the island, but we've established that the Others aren't time travelling. Perhaps our timenauts were exposed to a blast of island radiation because they were on the beach and those further inland didn't get the blast.

- i'm still confused about Jin's time-fuckery when the Helicopter was geographically closer to the island, unless, once again the radiation blast was close to sea-level

- Ben LET the Oceanic 6 take the helicopter and leave as part of Alpert's bargain in the finale. Was he then presented with the oportunity to kill Keamy and prevent the Oceanic 6 from leaving, much like Locke's mad-on for the submarine let him keep Jack & Juliet on the island? He already managed to get Michael back to the island after letting him leave.

Alirio or Mr Bill, how do I get the podcast to my iPod if it's not on iTunes yet?

t-dot kim said...

Steph, download the ep onto your comp, then add it to your music library like you would a song/.mp3
It won't be with your podcasts, but with your music.

P, I settled on a Whopper. Good stuff. I hadn't had one in a loooong time

I really hope that the Frenchies say Foux Du Fafa next week. Or at least biblioteque. If one could be named Sylvie that would also be a great HS French shout-out.

No, I need this on my iPod before I leave work.

Unbelievable. I posted on the dead thread AGAIN, and I had even SEEN the new thread. I'm losing short term memory - is a nosebleed far behind? Thanks for the help Chris :)

Andrew:
"so Desmond is special. okay, accepted. Is it because he made contact with his constant and is now healthy to time travel? Daniel made it sound (in "The Constant") like if you find your constant to mentally latch onto, you're good for time travelling. I also thought that was one of the reasons he knocked on the Swan Hatch door in the season premiere - to see Desmond which would give him HIS constant for the time-skipping. But I guess we'll see if he gets a nosebleed.

"i'm still confused about Jin's time-fuckery when the Helicopter was geographically closer to the island, unless, once again the radiation blast was close to sea-level"

I actually assumed that the freighter was parked just outside the radius after trying to move closer to the island - so are we sure that the Helicopter was closer? Now I'm not sure why I thought that - lol.

mmmm. burger day - I almost forgot. I doubt the guys in the office will want to go there twice in two weeks but there is a pub relatively nearby that makes a burger called the Lumberjack - a.k.a. the Widowmaker.
Close to a pound of meat (double burger), bacon, jack cheese, a mild horseradish/mustard sauce, plus onions, lettuce & tomato if desired.
Not always finish-able, but so awesome!

It needs to be lunchtime

by the way, f'n loved the Combustible Edison during the Dharma-line. good stuff.

also, enjoyed the call about the Pro Bowl.

Stephanie said...

Not that he's an explosive expert or anything but Big Ed claims that if as much C-4 blew up as we saw on the freighter, no one would have survived. No one.

Chris JC said...

Not even if the established LOST timeline contradicts it?

I'm a supporter of the time travel in LOST, but it does make the Jin thing too easy - he wasn't meant to die there, and so he didn't. Simple. Cheap, but simple.

PalmerEldritch said...

the magic of the Island(tm).

but, yeah, i'm under the impression that, with C-4, just a little dab will do you.

chris, do you Brits call C-4 something different or is that just the IRA guy in GTA4?

memphish said...

Yes, even I have come to accept if not like it. I guess it's no crazier than a gun jamming or a wreck occurring when you're about to jump off a bridge.

But it makes me ask the question was Locke ever meant to be the leader if the Island allows him to die when he's off it? I think I'm a fan of the idea that Locke would never be the leader but for his giving that idea to Richard.

Palmer - I'm guessing you're thinking of Semtex. I don't know if it's the same stuff but throughout the 80s it tended to be a byword for plastic explosive in the UK as the IRA did leave quite a bit of it hanging about over here, the cheeky scamps.

Now, because of American films and videogames, I find that people (particularly young people) tend to refer to C-4 nowadays as well.

Bit of research - Semtex is similar, but not the same, and useable over a greater range of temperature which you'll need if you want to blow up bits of London and Manchester.

DHARMALARS. I Got your Sydney t-shirt the other day. I really want the original yellow one though. Any chance of there being more of those or am I out of luck?

Ralph- said...

Holli, that was a pretty good tongue twister.

Steph, here is the breakdown. I edit the show, then it takes about 8-10 minutes for it to do the mixdown. When that is happening, i go over to the Dharmalars blog and fill out all the show notes and save it. Then by that time, my file should be done with the Mixdown. Then i upload the file to the Server. While that is doing it's thing, i cut and paste the show notes on Myspace Bulletin, Blog and Here. The show is not fully uploaded onto the server when i post here. So if you get on this thread right away you will notice it say FILE NOT FOUND,(so i just pop on a note at the top that says, give it such and such a time to get up on iTunes. Once the file is uploaded i post and "ping" the dharmalars blog, which then imidiately goes up on itunes. If you try to download the file on here within 30 minutes of me posting the thread, you will get incomplete episodes, depending on how far into the uploading process you save the file.

All of this is a routine that allows me to take up as little time as possible. Dharmlars is all about multi tasking and getting the show out with little effort or time consumed.

You'd be surprised how short it takes to record edit and post.

Ralph- said...

i guess to answer your question. There is only a half hour window between the time i post here and it is up on iTunes. i say 45minutes, just incase my internet is being slow on the upload

ralph- went to Hawii? This is the type of thing that I'm supposed to know. Eggtown always makes me anxious to watch since we found out by father-in-law was hundreds of miles away in Ohio hospitalized with a stroke. We didn't know his status while we watched the episode originally.

Stephanie said...

...Not that Eggtown is an enjoyable episode.

My DVR rebooted in the middle of BSG last night. I would have been in trouble if I weren't watching live.

i called MYOKOM from hawaii! I think i knew that it would be the return of that show with co-host Ryan Howard, but it was not announced yet.

I think i have pictures up somewhere of all the lost locations that i found in hawaii including the airstrip that eko's brother gets shot and the wreckage is stored! I am pretty sure they are up on myspace. if not i will post them on my facebook sometime this week.

There is the pics of The Wreckage of 815. It was sooo far from the road, but because Ryan Ozawa told me that it was at an airfield i looked through the fence of that airfield. It couldnt have been any bigger than the size of a tic tac with the naked eye, but i HAD to investigate!

Normally I post humorous links. But in these harsh economic times, we all need to look out for each other. A couple tips I found that will hopefully help you as much as they did myself.

How to save time while shopping

Every little bit helps, right?

For years I've wondered why Dewey's theme in Scream 2 was so out of place with the rest of Marco Beltrami's score. Now I'm watching Broken Arrow for the first time in years and now I see why - it's from the Hans Zimmer score for this.

I came online to see if I could find out why such a thing should have occurred and have come up with nothing.

Ah well - at least I know why now.

Sorry for Score Chat - should have done it on Cue The Music blog really.

Stephanie said...

Christopher, you know any topic is welcome here.

about this c*nt, ostrogoth or visogoth?

UGH. I always thought that Zimmer stole that shit from somewhere else.
