This is the end my beautiful friends! So - only clips from Tuesday's episode in the podcast. no other spoilers - I am CHOOSING to not read anything else (for the 1st time since 2007 - and thereby completely ignoring my job description for the podcast.

Hope no one gets to pissed off about it - pretty much everything you might want to spoil yourself with is at Dark UFO if you're needing a spoiler fix.

love and cramazeballs! g'nite.

you know what I am going to rewatch every single episode this week after tomorrow nights episode. I don't care if I have time or not I'll make time. Pilot Part 1 Wednesday.

This is a special week and it only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.

That is some balls-out nerd-tastic fandom Kyle. You go man!

Listening to TLI @work. It seems to be the popular opinion that Mother Nutso was a smokie too. I hadn't thought of it while watching, but I think that is spot on. Makes sense.

Also thinking about something that I think we've talked about here, that part of the end to this whole story will be the reunification of light and dark within the person who ends up being the protector of the island - like Yin and Yang in the Taijitu.

It seems to me that the power of the island as it resides with it's protector, was split when Mother Nutso transferred power to Jacob but then Jacob sent MiB into the light cave and turned him into smokey. So, for 2000 years (or so?) the island's power has remained split in two. I think there will be only one replacement/new protector and that person is going to represent this reunification.

Mamma Nutso being a smoke monster would make sense. Except for when she was killed she left behind a body for Jacob to bury. If she was indeed a smokey in the same sense that MIB became, wouldn't she have already previously deposited her mortal vessel?

Smoke monster or no, there was obviously something not right with her & 'magical'. She had the power to make Jacob & BroWithNoName immortals and give them powers of some sort. Who the hells knows.

I really don't think this episode gave us all that much to be able to create too solid of theories whatsoever. Pretty much everything to me besides 'crazy magic lady was cuckoo for leprechaun hole & turned her sons against each other in magic land' is taking huge leaps in wishful logic. I think fans want to try like hell to make this episode make sense and have greater purpose than it really did. If they love their baby hard enough, and keep telling themselves it's a pretty, they'll begin to believe it so. When in reality they have one fugly baby. But that's just me. Self-admitted hater of ugly babies.

I will say that dude who sang on the podcast was the closest I've heard anyone try to make sense of the episode without sounding like he was totally grasping for straws and throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. But even he admitted that his ideas had holes in them that most likely ruled them out from being taken too seriously.

PS - Who the hell is that guy? He's awesome. Very inciteful dude and well spoken. Why hasn't he been doing his own podcast? Sorry if I'm mad late to the party with him (Thomas, right?). I fully admit to typically skipping past the caller segment. In fact, the only reason I listened to his call this time was I fell asleep listening to the podcast and his singing woke me up. :P Ha!

Jordan, you have been missing out if you haven't been listening to "The Others". Thomas, Haiku Brad, Felix, and Kyle are almost as fun to listening to as Kim and Aimee.

I wish I could go back in time to last Tuesday and not watch Across the Sea.

OMG! HE HAD NO NAME! Are you brain damaged?

One thing I feel the need to post-preface (is that a thing?). While I feel as I just said, that there isn't really too much beneath the surface to dig up in this epsidoe. I still certainly enjoy listening to others speculate. Always interesting to see the different way people interpret things.

Going back to the initial TLI thread, I didn't get biblical or religious undertones at all, yet Kim felt overwhelmed with them. A reminder of how vastly different people can see things based on their own mindset and perceptive filters.

That's been on the most more fun things about Lost. And although I'm a lot like Aimee was with the emails this week (thinking to myself, 'uh no. that is flat out wrong'). I still enjoy listening to and trying to make sense out of those totally different interpretations people bring. Good stuff.

Yeah Steph. Guilty as charged. I've heard Felix a few times and found him a riot. But I have a long running alergic reaction to caller segments on podcasts. Usually find them kinda not good. I can probably blame that on the J&J callers. I should know better with the people who call into this one. But old habits die hard.

Oh, and saw Iron Man 2 last night. Found it a lot of fun. Why the hell are people being so hard on it? Do they not remember what Wolverine Origins was like?

Stephanie said...

Don't know, Jordan. After my walk-out on Star Trek last year, I'm not bothering with Summer Blockbusters until maybe July. Inception and maybe Salt I'll see.

Jordan - Yeah I had the same reaction to Iron Man 2 - was surprised about the level of ragging. It wasn't as good as the first one, but still pretty entertaining.
Obviously they steered it in fairly heavily in the direction of a setup story for "The Avengers" instead of keeping the Iron Man franchise a self-contained thing. I didn't have a problem with that - it seems like a lot of people did.

You've missed out on a lot Jordan. "The Others" is one of my favorite segments of TLI. It's not the same as J&J. Not crackin' on J&J callers, but TLI callers/e-mailers are uncensored and really witty.

HOLY CRAMAZESHIT THOMAS!!! Nice vocal stylings!

OMG. LESS THAN A WEEK.

Is it really bad that the only two things that still sticks out from Across The Sea is Titus Welliver being a major DILF and Evangeline Lilly looking majorly old compared to season 1 Kate.

Stephanie said...

Foxie has aged more than Evangeline.

Kelly Jo said...

Very true

Kyle from Kentucky said...

they really do look a shit ton older.

It's no sleep week for me. I'm going to start the Pilot part 1 in about an hour.

Stephanie said...

Yep. In season one, sometimes Evangeline would look very young. Sometimes not so much. Foxie is losing "it".
