:) Thanks for the praise. My name is actually John V. Holder III. So you can call me John OR Holder. Most people just refer to me by my last name because John is pretty common.

And GO DUKE.

Try downloading from this page. I just did it , and it worked

Now that my rage has subsided and I've come to accept that there's a problem and hopefully it will be fixed, I have an opportunity to comment on STUFF.

I am glad my Little Giants reference got people to check up on Ice Box.

I agree that no children's movie should have a chick with "Box" as part of her nickname. At least it wasn't Firebox.

I still remember "The Annexation of Puerto Rico." I don't remember the actual play, but I remember the name.

I'm sticking with my iPad mini otherwise known as my old iPhone. Can't think of why I need a iPod Touch Maxi especially since it's more expensive than those cute little Dell mini-laptops that do so much more.

I really gotta agree with Holli re the iPad being unimpressive, if not a stupid idea.

Until that thing supports flash or some software where you can watch streaming video from Netflix, Hulu, etc. it is inferior to cheaper products and, in my eyes, useless.

It's like if the iPod only let add songs by downloading them from the iTunes store. Why is Apple being so stingy as it relates to video content?

The iPod Touch already does everything that the iPad does and is smaller. The iPhone is even more superior in that it's a phone in addition to being an iPod.

I don't understand who the target audience is for the iPad.

PalmerEldritch said...

people with too much money. :)

yeah, agree with your assessments. have heard that it has a Netflix app. which is mildly cool. wonder if you have to hold it out in front of you for three hours while you watch a movie.

This is still one of the most referenced scenes of Lost for me. Whenever someone says friends, sometimes brother, I usually say Essam's first line from the following:

ESSAM: You were supposed to be my brother, my friend.

SAYID: I am your friend.

ESSAM: A friend who told me to do this for Zara just so you could find some woman that you love?!

(Sayid gasps as Essam continues to hold the gun on him.)

ESSAM: Well, Sayid, I hope she makes you whole again.

(Essam removes the gun, points it at his own chin and pulls the trigger.)

I stand corrected re Netflix. Many of my friends who got the iPad were quick to point out the app to me too when I brought up the lack of flash, etc.

I'm confused by the whole MIB water thing. Was it not the case in S5 that we saw Christian talk to Sun and Frank on the main Island before Locke had left the Hydra Island?

Yeah I've been assuming "Journey Christian" was MiB but maybe it was actually Jacob. Or maybe it was neither.

Thanks Kim! Great show ladies. I'm psyched for the baseball season as well. My Braves put a solid whoopin' on the Cubbies today.

Palmer - I'm sure Desmond's still smarting from the gunshot wound to his milk. It's only been, what? Two, three weeks since that happened?

RE: The iPad - I don't think there's a bigger waste of money on the market. I'm still astounded by the number of basic functions it can't perform. My iPod is the only Apple product I need!

Holli - I'm thinking that Christian Shepard is not one of Smokey's manifestations. The main reason I say that is because Christian appeared to Jack off-island in a flash-forward, so I'd think he'd be more closely aligned with Jacob (and driving Jack to his destiny). What I can't reconcile with that, though, is what happened with Claire. If Christian is on Jacob's side, how did he let Claire go to the dark side? I'm done guessing.

It's almost LOSTuesday!

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Idk if the writers screwed up or not but they might have made a big mistake here..

It's clear that he cannot cross the water in smoke form. He has to use a boat and go in human form. But it makes absolutely no sense because Christian BOOM appeared to Michael on the freighter then BOOM appears to Jack in the hospital.

If he is trapped by the island how the hell can he escape to LA to say JACK.....and the freighter too was outside the Faraday radius of the island.

I either believe that Christian represents someone else entirely and not the smoke monster or the writers fucked up bigtime in the smoke monster writing.

I really want Jack and his dad to conclude their on island story somehow which started way back in Walkabout. I guess I'm ok with never seeing the wrapped up Annie/Ben story but not Christian. No way.

JoeSC said...

Yeah Kyle. I know I said the only thing I really wanted was another Desmond episode, but they MUST explain Christian somehow!

scrdmnkydst said...

Until it's proved otherwise, i'm going to carry on thinking that Libby in the hospital with Michael, Christian Shephard on the freighter and in LA with Jack are manifestations of Jacob.

Jacob and MIB seem so similar, so it stands to reason that they both have similar "abilities".

Still also going with Jacob was a white smoke thingy and that's what Locke saw in season one...

memphish said...

Christian is definitely on my must answer list. I want to know why he changed clothes on Island. I always felt like suited Christian, the one that appears to Jack and Vincent both on and off Island is "good" leading them to water and all that, but that casual Christian who appeared to Claire and Locke and Sun is MIB. But wait Claire differentiates between her dad and her friend. I'm confused again. But I like this type of confused.

JoeSC said...

I still don't know what we're supposed to make of the fact that Christian told Locke that he was speaking on behalf of Jacob when Locke went to turn the Donkey Wheel.

I don't think the writers would be that obvious, that early.

On the other hand, we did see both Christian and Claire in Jacob's cabin which was supposedly inhabited by Smokey at the time (plus Claire had that evil grin).

...on a completely unrelated note, if Smokey is free to fly around the island and hang out in Jacob's cabin, how did the Others know that he'd be in his hole when they went to summon him?

...and why the hell did Smokey work for the Others who are on Jacob's side? Was he also forced to do Jacob's bidding until he killed Jacob? That just doesn't make any sense...

Now my head hurts.

PalmerEldritch said...

benzo drained that toilet pool under his house, right? so, was he removing a barrier of water in underground passages leading to New Otherton? the only way for Smokey to get in since the sonic fence was up?

the cabin was protected by an ash circle until ol' squiggly legs stepped on the line of ash. that means it kept Smokey out previously. if it had kept Smokey in, then how'd Smokey kill everyone and chase 'em and stuff?

what does this mean? i dunno.

i'd like to know why christian changed from a suit to a stereotypical 90s gang member with his top button buttoned.

and did Smokey work for the Others? or did Ben just know that Smokey would wreck some shit if he let him into New Otherton? and since he was expecting the shit to be wrecked, he knew he'd have an edge over the Keaminator?

i like LOST!

Nice podcast Ladies. I think Scott, Steve and Doug are all dead. I think Steve died in New Otherton in S4 in the mercenary assault where the 3 log carriers died while Sawyer dodged all the bullets and that Doug died in the flaming arrows. I think Rose and Bernard were the only people who didn't get killed by the Others in the 50s other than the people we kept following.
