Dharmalars: Exposé

We also pay a special tribute to Producer Ryan, who will be giggling for the last time on the Dharmalars. He will be missed. Thanks Ryan...Thyan!

Ralph,

Thanks for nothing. Sawyer was repeating it back to Nikki. That's what she said when he wouldn't give her a gun.

Good podcasts guys.

Still listening.

Why does it look like Ben is stroking that microphone?

Listening right now guys; good luck in Catalina Ryan, tell Jeff he better bring his A-game, cause it'll take a lot to fill those giant giggly shoes of yours!

Benjamin said...

Why? Because, baby, you can't just walk up to a microphone and start pouring a podcast into her. You gotta warm her up a little. You gotta make sure she's sympatico with you. And then when she's all loosey-goosey and ready to go...YOU PODCAST HER BRAINS OUT.

Unknown said...

what the "F" are you doing up so early ben? wow. you must be out catching worms.

Thanks Holli, that makes perfect sense now.

Aimee, If jeff does come on board, he will bring more than an A game.

Steph, i think that you may be hogging all the brain, cause i'm sure using way less than half. by the way, why do we share the same brain? is it because we both have an ifinity for Day 57?

Anonymous said...

Great job guys, this was a really funny podcast.

Dudes! Nina and Pablo are dead. This has been confirmed, I think.

-long time listener, first time poster.

Jordan said...

Those listener calls killed me. LMAO at the dude who said he "did it" to the Lost soundtrack. hahaha.

Great show once again y'all.

And all I can say is the new producer better have one hell of a giggle.

memphish said...

What's better than an A Game? A Negative Z game? Do you go back to zero and then go backwards?

BTW, one of my unique talents is I can sing the alphabet backwards.

Ralph, Having not had all 4 of my cups of coffee yet I forgot to add that Sawyer was also speaking for all the non-Dharmalars in the LOST world and telling Pikki "thanks for nothing."

Here's a question for the next episode. If Juliet and Kate show back up wherever Jack is and Juliet's face is all bashed in, he's going to be a Nancy-boy and get mad at Kate about that isn't he? Just have sex with the prostitue and be happy the younger one took out the older one because of you Coconut-head.

aimee is lost said...

Ben, it looks like your gripping that mic pretty tight though, which conflicts with your gentle stroking explanation. You can't violently force the mic into submission, that's just rude. Unless the mic is kinky and likes it rough.

By the way, as far as giggles are concerned, I think the only one who can come close in comparison to the almighty Ryan would be Dre. I love that dude's calls.

aimee is lost said...

Oh, and I guess whoever called you the Dharmafarts several threads ago has the same psychic powers as Desmond.

PalmerEldritch said...

hey, producer ryan. sorry to see you go. obviously, i enjoyed both your production skills and your giggles. otherwise, i wouldn't have written a haiku to defend you against anonymous. it looks like i didn't get my audio comment in to ralph on time but i hope he gets a copy to you, ryan. thanks for everything. stay in touch here on the blogspot and respect the island or locke will eat your leftovers.

Ralph, if you consider yourself any bit of a Steve Martin fan, you have to see The Jerk. That movie has some great quotes.

ryan, you're the best in the biz man

and honestly, who hasn't "done it" to the lost score?

Anonymous said...

wasn't it "wet bra can bend my bar" ?

Great podcast again. Loved the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels quote.

Anonymous said...

Jordan, you're so right about The Jerk. I love the field sobriety test he has to do.

Stephanie said...

Day 57, is that when we where introduced to the new sheriff? No, that's not it. You always say exactly what I think. Always.

Do you think non-blogspotters are feeling alienated? Are we getting preferential treatment?

Dre needs his own podcast. I'd subscribe in a heartbeat.

Sir William Osler, MD said...

Day 57 is Nikki in a bra with Dr. Arzt. Real classy stuff.

Jordan said...

I want a spin-off of Day 57. I'd probably buy the dvd.

I don't know about "doing it" to the lost score. I'm more of a Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack kinda guy.

Great quote from The Jerk:
"HE HATES THESE CANS!"
Also classic:
"You sir, are talking to a n***er!"

A couple of things I can actually speak on with experience. Maybe TMI.

Listening to the dharmalars now -
You know I never realized that Isla Nublar (Jurassic Park) could have been in the Pacific or the Carribean. I don't think that movie ever makes clear which coast the island is off of. Someone correct me if that's wrong.

The narrative begins by slowly tying together a series of incidents involving strange animal attacks in Costa Rica. After paleontologist Alan Grant and his paleobotanist graduate student Ellie Sattler enter the sequence of queried experts they are abruptly whisked off by billionaire John Hammond (founder and CEO of International Genetic Technologies) for a weekend visit to a "zoological preserve" he has established on an island 120 miles off the west coast of Costa Rica.

Ralph, Ben and I have the feeling that I will never be totally gone from the show. Participation may be limited for the rest of the season as I won't have internet over there for a few months (we just got running water on the island, so we've got that going for us).

I'll see y'all on the boards, MySpace, and the DharmaLine! Thanks again.

Welcome back, Wesh!

memphish said...

Those are the craziest You All Everybody calls. The repeated pleas for drunk calls finally pays off just like Nikki and Paolo pay off.

Kim, just realized Paolo's "Is it the Others?" line is even more lame now after he came face to door with Ben and Juliet and didn't tell anyone.

Ben, Juliette's hair must be naturally curly (theatre hair) and she uses the technology of a blowdryer, staightening iron, or perm to get Othersville hair.
Thinking about it more, Locke's line about nothing stays buried on the island may mean the crap is about to hit the fan.
Jordan from the 206, I concur.

my favorite jerk quote

New Accounts Bank Manager: I will need two pieces of identification.

Navin R. Johnson: Ah yes. I have my temporary driver's license - and - my astronaut application form... I didn't pass that though, I failed everything but the date of birth.

Jordan said...

Navin R. Johnson: Now be totally honest. You do have a boyfriend don't you.

Marie: Kind of

Navin R. Johnson: I know this is our first date but do you think the next time you make love to your boyfriend you could think of me?

Marie: Well I haven't made love to him yet.

Navin R. Johnson: That's too bad. Do you think its possible that someday you could make love with me and think of him?

Marie: Who knows maybe you and he could make love and you could think of me.

Navin R. Johnson: I'd be happy to be in there somewhere.

PalmerEldritch said...

Navin R. Johnson: My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child.

Anonymous said...

Nice command of the language there, Anon. Next time go ahead and throw a few random punctuation marks at the end of your message, and I'll try to figure out where they should have been used throughout the body of the message.

Ryan - Dude, lots of others have said it, and I'd like to concur: We're gonna miss you on the Dharmalars podcast. Maybe you could put a small mp3 sample of your laugh online so we'll have that to remember you by.

Here's another one of my favorites from The Jerk:
"First I get my name in the phone book and now I'm on your ass. You know, I'll bet more people see that than the phone book. "

And I totally spaced out earlier when I mentioned a sobriety test that Steve Martin had to do. That was from "The Man with Two Brains" WHOOPS! Another awesome movie, no doubt. But not the subject of the conversation.

Will there be DHARMA whipped topping? Please?

aimee is lost said...

Palmer, this week's Kate episode is titled "Left Behind".

PalmerEldritch said...

"Left Behind?"

Hmmm... My new theory as to Wednesday's Birthday episode of LOST, after the Juliet/Kate smackdown in the DHARMA whipped topping, Kate will need a massage from Juliet because she will have pulled a muscle in her left behind.

aimee is lost said...

That would be the ultimate birthday gift, wouldn't it?

PalmerEldritch said...

I'm fearful that the Kate on Juliette action is going to be a bit of a let down for us guys. The commercial probably showed it all. Damn those ABC ad wizards!

But we can dream, right?

aimee is lost said...

Do you think that because we all expect Kate to kick some Juliet ass that it'll end up the other way around and Juliet will be the one bringing the pain?

Jordan said...

Yeah, I'm jealous of Aimee too. I seem to have ADD when I read. Can't concentrate worth shit. The only time I've ever been able to read with any sticktoitiveness was when I backpacked through Europe. I was on trains so much that I had no choice.

Aimee, you talking about books sounds like me talking about dvd's. I'm all like, "Yeah, I just got finished with Blood Diamond. Hope to get through Babel by tomorrow." hahaha.

I started reading Catch 22 about a year ago. It's been sitting on my shelf with a bookmark about 50 pages in. Every now and then I notice it and think, "I should start reading that again." Then before that thought is even done, I'm watching something on tv.

Anonymous said...

Aimee - what did you think of Poirot? I always thought it was funny that an arrogant Belgian detective was one of the most famous characters in English Literature.

I am re-reading and highly recommend Le Carre's A Perfect Spy, although I doubt it will ever feature in Lost.

aimee is lost said...

I wish I would've brought Catch 22 to work with me, so I can start it as soon as I'm done with Animal Farm. I feel naked without an unread book nearby.

Elias, I've only read one other Agatha Christie book which was And Then There Were None. It also took me only a few hours to finish, and was completely awesome. I love trying to play "whodunit" in my head, because at the end, I'm always wrong!

I'd like to start reading more of hers when I have the time. I just have to get caught up with Dr. Jack's stupid bookshelf from the season premiere episode. I have like, 10 books to read from that one episode, and now all the new episodes keep piling more on me.

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee, I'm not sure whether to be impressed or frightened.

Them's a lot of book readin'!

Jordan said...

And Then There Were None. Does that one have something to do with the 10 little indians? Not sure exactly why as I never read the book, but that came to mind. Maybe I saw a film or play a long time ago.

When I was in London a couple years back I saw The Mousetrap, which is an Agatha Christie play. It's been running there for 60 years or something. It was pretty good.

aimee is lost said...

45 out of 66 is my running total so far. That doesn't sound as good as I thought it would. I actually have more than I thought I did. 18 are from the season premiere; the other 3 are from upcoming episodes. Fucking Jack and his stupid fancy doctor's office bookshelf.

aimee is lost said...

Yes, Jordan, I believe Ten Little Indians was the original title also.

Too many posts! I can't synthesize it all and reply as I should, so I'll focus on the current discussion. Catch-22 is one of my all time favorite books. Top ten at the least.

Kim,
thanks for making like Loverboy and Working on the Weekend (podcasting on the weekend) so we can all continue to inject our TLI addiction. Lovin' Every Minute of it.

Just got back from the doctor. I get to have surgery, yay! (sarcasm off)

What the hell are the odds? My last post was about how I don't read too many books, and then you guys start talking about Bruce Campbell. Ha! I actually read, "If Chins Could Kill." Pretty interesting stuff. He basically tells the story of how he got into show business. He goes into real detail about the original Evil Dead. That was pretty cool. Bruce is very candid and doesn't hold back too much. I recommend it to any fans of his or cinema.

Aimee, If you'd like, you can have my copy. It's not like I'm ever going to read it again. In fact, it would be my pleasure to give it a much better home.

Spaghetti is the plural form of the Italian word spaghetto, which is a diminutive of "spago," meaning "thin string" or "twine". The word "spaghetti" can be literally translated as "little strings." A common theory is that Marco Polo brought the noodles back with him from China, but this is not true.

The Smith's are having spaghetti tonight.

Jordan, it's too bad you aren't in the 901, my hubby could do your surgery.

Jordan, you are apparently a much better friend than that inconsiderate bastard named Ben who lends all his cool shit to everyone but me. I would love to read the first book by Bruce "Don't call me me Ash" Campbell. If you seriously don't want it, I'll take it & even paypal you for it. Send me an email!

And whatever you're having surgery for, I hope it's not too serious. I'll cross my fingers that it's like tonsils or a molectomy or something.

memphish said...

Molectomy is definitely the proper technical term.

Steph,
I think our family is having something called "pizza" which derives from the Italian word "pizza" which actually means "lazy-ass"

I joke - a really good pizza is hard to find and is nirvana for me.

Jordan,

good thoughts to you - I'm sure it will go perfectly.

What's your email?

And no, it's not really serious. It's just an endoscopy. They're just going to stick a camera down my throat. Fun stuff.

Jordan....good luck on the surgery, buddy.

Hopefully they don't stick anything else down your throat. Sex joke.

Well Jordan I hope they find whatever it is they are looking for. Did you see this today about Will Arnett?

You know what's really sick? I'm sitting here trying to figure out how much this procedure is going to cost me after insurance. And I honestly caught myself considering not doing it and instead spending the cash on a Playstation 3. Wow, am I responsible or what? ha!

Thanks for the link Holli. Arnett is hilarity in people form. The entire cast from Arrested Development was simply superb. Everybody on that show was just so good. The guy who played Buster is on that new Andy Richter show. Such an awesome show. I loathe FOX. How could you cancel such genius? I wish very painful crabs upon Rupert Murdoch. By the way, if you haven't checked out AD yet. Stop what you're doing, run to the store, and buy the first season on dvd. If you don't highly enjoy it, you don't know funny.

Waaaaaiiit a minute. If a personal chef disappears the day his boss is found dead, do the australian police not do toxicology tests? I mean, seriously.

Happy, happy Lostday! I think people should just called the Dharmaline and giggle. The one that comes closes to Ryan's can be the Pseudo-Ryan and you can insert that whenever you need to!

I'd love y'all (I'm from Kentucky, sue me!) to be my Myspace friends if you're not too good for that. Judging by some of the friends you have now, I'd say no! ;)
