Tune into "LOST" on Wednesday nights only to find another repeat? ABC is eliminating that experience next season reports The SanFrancisco Chronicle.
Utilising a mold recently seen on shows like "Alias", "24" and "Battlestar Galactica", the network confirmed yesterday that rather than repeats slotted in every other week, the show will go on hiatus for a few weeks over the Xmas/New Year break with new Groundhog Day-esque Taye Diggs drama "Day Break" in its slot instead. Then it'll begin again a few weeks into the new year and run uninterrupted right through til the end of season in May.
More specifically: "The plan is that "Lost" will come on in the Fall in the first or second week of the season, run for seven episodes and then "Day Break" will launch into that period and "Lost" will come back in January or early February and run straight through for the remainder for the season".
He also confirmed there's no new regular cast members joining next year, though everyone who survives the coming season finale will be back.

I think I read recently that Lost had 'lost' 400,000 or so viewers during season 2 because of the hiatusesusessess.
i know that some of my friends started to shift their interests to 24. remember when the "23 Psalm" was aired? i practically forgot that we last left Michael talking to Walt on the computer. I like listening to the podcasts, but i dont want them to be the ones that refresh my memory.
i want to watch each episode with the knowlege i learned from the week before.
i am excited about this! this also means less "filler" podcasts for us.
Yes but some of the classic MYOKOM w/SAS moments didn't even involve discussions of Lost.
Jonathan Bluestone...
Turning off microphones...
Playing bingo in Dallas with grandma...ahh, memories.
I know it was the original reason, but I don't think the Lost discussions are why people keep coming back.
which episode podcast did they talk about jonathon bluestone in? that was fucking hilarious?
I can't remember, but I wish I did,so I could listen to them again myself!
You don't understand Sayten, he's going to hunt us down using advanced tracking skills, i'm actually very scared.
Is someone going to die next week? If they kill Sawyer or Sayid I will be SO pissed. No way they will kill Kate or Jack, right? Right?
Eko is getting really annoying, kinda like Locke used to be. That whole inner peace thing is really a turnoff.
one more thing. i read that faux Henry Gale is going to be a regular next season. Anyone have any predictions as to what will happen if and when it comes out that Michael killed Libby and Ana Lucia? Anyone get the feeling that Sayid and Jack already suspect as much?
