Woah. Comments from Kim appearing and disappearing? Spooky!

PalmerEldritch said...

Can't wait to download it tonight and find a way to listen to it before PrisonBreak, Heroes, and 24. Ack. Too much TV!

Kim, did your drunken shenanigans make it in?

aimee is lost said...

Nice. I'll have just enough time to listen before my work day is over.

Happy Monday!

Steph, you weren't imagining things, I did upload our podcast last night, but realised I forgot to add something to the final mixdown---a very important part.

This upload is temporary.

My computer (PC) is offically dead, but I have slavaged the audio from our recording on Saturday, and all will be restored in the world come this evening!

If anyone wanted the playlist...

Three Dog Night - Shambala (who didn't use this song this week?)
Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine
Jimi Hendri - Purple Haze
The Beatles - I Am the Walrus
Steve Miller Band - Blinded by the Light
Jefferson Airplane - Comin' Back To Me
The Byrds - Eight Miles High
Pink Floyd - Interstellar Overdrive
Roxette - Joyride
Hinder - Lips of an Angel

~K

PS> If anyone cares about the traffic in Toronto....CRAZY!!! A major highway (freeway to you Yanks) has been closed BOTH ways because of falling ice from the CN TOWER! (And that's just the tip of the iceburg)

Anonymous said...

Jimi Hendrix... sorry

Palmer, no drunken talk :( Aimee & I recorded on Saturday afternoon, I went crazy Saturday night.

I promise a full recap of this week's festivities at a later date at time. It's only Monday and I have been publicly embarrassed three times. *UGH*

aimee is lost said...

You have iceburgs in Toronto? Wow!! lol.

PalmerEldritch said...

Uh... Americans call highways highways too. Right? Someone back me up on this.

Maybe freeway is a more West Coast term?

About that falling ice... shouldn't you design your giant ass towers NOT to shoot ice at passersby? Heated roof? Slanted roof? Heated slanted roof? Death-defying acrobats with snow shovels?

aimee is lost said...

You should get some of that global warming up there. I hear that helps with melting ice and stuff.

memphish said...

I'd be happy to contribute all August days in Memphis to help Toronto today.

aimee is lost said...

I'll personally donate the entire month of Arkansas' July to Toronto. Tell me where I hook up the vacuum rocket.

Ralph- said...

DOWNLOADING! i am excited cause i get a new podcast mear days before new lost!

PalmerEldritch said...

Screw Toronto's weather. I'll gladly trade any traffic reporter for a traffic reporter who'll say Jizz when it's really needed and who'll get sloshed and leave drunken messages for her friends.

Datty Mike said...

A MYOKOM W/ SAS Carbon trading scheme. Nice!
Good to see this blog is doing its bit for the environment!!

I only drive a 1 litre car, but i can happily donate the farts produced by the vindaloo curry i ate last night..

aimee is lost said...

Just finished listening. My Charlie 2.0 came out better than I thought, but yes, a little leprecaunish. Great job Kim; sorry your computer crashed! You need to get cracking on your Mac, so you don't have to worry about that thing anymore.

Jimmy said...

I love me Vindaloo!!!

I really enjoyed the show, you two. Amazing to hear Dylan Speed! The SAS returns...by accident :)

Stephanie said...

So intrigued to hear who the guest star is. I'm guessing/hoping Dylan. Is it Jellyman? That would be good too.
Just finished BSG. Not well executed, no tears shed. Yes, I judge BSG on how much it makes me cry.
Andrew, glad to hear I'm not deaf.
Why did Lee say "She went in."? I din't see anything that resembled "going in". Maybe I heard it wrong.
Good to see Naomi Harper again.
I'm no longer employed full time!!!

Heroes tonight! Could it be even better tonight than last week?

memphish said...

Listening to the podcast. Enjoying it. Had to stop and post because I don't know how Pikki will become iconic, but Kim is now iconic for her use of the word jizz. You've got to use it every episode now.

PalmerEldritch said...

Ripped from the headlines of FARK.com, my gift to Steph and Kim.

http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/articles/2007/03/04/its_all_connected/?p1=MEWell_Pos5

Oh! And to Aimee cuz while she doesn't talk much HEROES here, she does make out with Peter Petrelli. Or something like that. :)

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the temporary upload - I'm so pathetic been smacking my proverbial veins for the last 24 hours waiting for my TLI injection (joke). Thanks for the hookup.

PalmerEldritch said...

Linkamajig in HTML form

Stephanie said...

Damn that Lindelof, giving the competition advise.

Ralph- said...

a quick explaination on the Second drunk call. Ryan and I were speaking highly about Kim and Aimee. But seeing how we are both spoken for, we wanted to make sure that we made it clear that we still love our significant others, but can still compliment the ladies of the Lost Initiative. So i said, "do not tell stevi" and ryan said "dont tell erin" (his girlfriend), but i said AA as in Aaron, which would make it sound like ryan is going out with a dude.

aimee is lost said...

And the world makes sense again.

Anonymous said...

Listening to the podcast now...and there's the jizz reference for this episode. Well, now you've done it Kim. From here on, everyone will be expecting a jizz reference in each podcast. This could be you're ticket to icon-dom actually - it only takes one really good iconic statement from a media personality. And I think there's a game to be played here. See if people can guess when the jizz ref will come next week (plus or minus a minute). Lovin the podcast! Stay cool.

Benjamin said...

And apparently I couldn't care less what Becky thinks. Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm looking forward to checking out TLI on my commute tomorrow.

Stephanie said...

My goal this week is to come up with some profound idea to call into TLI.

There had to be something to come between Skate and the dart scene was the best they could do?

Jimmy said...

Just like Josh Holloway, the Lar's have to keep reminding the viewers that we are all taken men.

Fame...

Ralph- said...

Jimmy, i assume that the LI is, as well.

aimee is lost said...

Jimmy wants to remind his audience that he's a swinger.

I'm kidding - I'm quite sure that Stevi, Becky, Erin, and Nikki - I mean Lisa have senses of humor. Otherwise, why would they be with the Dharmalars guys?

KABLAMO!

PalmerEldritch said...

jimmy would be a swinger, but that's how he threw his back out.

oh, you all knew that was coming.

hey, howzabout that HEROES, eh? good thing LOST is in high gear again or i might not be able to handle the hiatus.

i'm hoping Sayid gets to kick all sorts of ass and just generally be a badass.

badass sayid > mopey sayid.

p.s. kim, you rule. but i really have to wonder how you'll fit "jizz" into a sentence next week. i have faith in you though.

Anonymous said...

omg, I don't want to be known as the girl who says jizz. Believe it or not, I do have SOME class. But I do like a challenge...

Am I the only one who's not 'spoken for'? Suckas!

~K

PS>PETER PETRELLI! I literally gasped when a lock of his hair fell to the ground. Don't mess with his sexy hair! I have soooo many theories jumping around in my head about what's gonna happen next.

Ralph- said...

BY THE WAY~
it was really great to hear from Dylan. i know he said he didnt bring his A-Game, but agree with him 108% that Danielle letting Ben go to Sayid was strange!!!

JAPANESE PETE IN DA HOUSE!

booyashakka!

Isaac said...

Peter also received his scar that Future Hiro said he had in the future which i thought was cool how they paid that off. Sorry for the off topic discussion.

Datty Mike said...

Do any expert lost interneticans know where i can get episode transcripts??

aimee is lost said...

I think I'm going to make Brian grow Peter Petrelli hair. Mmm...

BTW Steph, I loved that video you posted, especially the part where he flips it to the side, and he's like "I'm Peter Petrelli."

PalmerEldritch said...

Kim, we could have a word challenge for you every week if you're sick of JIZZ. Maybe... Taint?

Share all your crazy HEREOES theories, buddy!

Stephanie said...

palmer, to reply to your WTF comment, on one hand I want to think RDM has something spectacular up his sleeve that will come out of the events of Maelstrom. Then again, I'm afraid this show is losing it's fiz. I'm willing to forgive a couple of episodes of mediocrity but it needs to pick up the pace. Quick!
Heroes has really surprised me. For a show that's not grounded in reality, they've really developed the characters well as of late.
Thank God the bangs are gone!!!
NBC needs to teach ABC how to do promos.

Datty Mike said...

Cheers for the transcript links Aimee...

Stephanie said...

When I said fiz, I meant fizz. Maybe I should have said jizz.

PalmerEldritch said...

i guess the stories just aren't as potent.

aimee is lost said...

Steph, you should always say jizz. Or taint. Or smuch.

I heard a nasty rumor about Milo Ventimiglia having his head shaved...please say it's not true!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

memphish said...

I think we need to pick a word each week here on the blogspot that Kim needs to work into the pocast, like Bingo, so when we hear her say it, we're all in on the joke. That'll teach people to avoid the blogspot. For example, today's dictionary.com word of the day is "indefatigable," as in "Sawyer's love for beer is indefatigable as evidenced by his willingness to partake of suds older than Rocky III."

Stephanie said...

Yes, BSG may have lost it's jizz. That discribes it perfectly!

aimee is lost said...

I don't know if I like that word. If you're not paying attention, it might come out offensive, and you could get punched by TR Knight.

memphish said...

Come up with any word - we used to play Bingo in class this way and the "magic word" signalled a win to the rest of the players.

Oh, and I just have to say Nathan Petrelli's hair bugged the crap out of me last night.

aimee is lost said...

I'm so distracted by Peter that I rarely notice Nathan. But I love it when he's around Hiro. It's like he can't hide who he really is, and I loooove it.

PalmerEldritch said...

Nathan Petrelli's hair was particularly dorky last night.

By the way, when Nathan slept with Nikki earlier in the season, was that technically a threesome?

memphish said...

If it makes you feel "better" to think of it as a 3-way, by all means think of it that way. Or does it depend on if there was a mirror over the bed?

Benjamin said...

Yeah, Hiro seems to be the only one that can convince Nathan to admit he has powers and openly talk about them. I have to say I'm totally disappointed in HRG. The very second I meet someone with the power to take on anyone's appearance is the second I start coming up with rotating code words for all my friends and relations before I start telling them shit. Weak!

I heard half an hour of the podcast today, ladies (and that includes Japanese Pete, kablamo.) I only say "Chocolate bar" when it's a bar of only chocolate. Otherwise I say "Candy bar." I blame the Hershey's ad campaign that referred to it as "The Great American Chocolate Bar."

And Diamond Bar is a city two towns North of me. If Hurley ends up owning a box company in Tustin, it's not unbelievable to think his chicken shack was in Diamond Bar, geographically speaking.

aimee is lost said...

Dang. It would've been nice to order some diamonds to go with my chicken.

PalmerEldritch said...

Yeah. Ben's got the lingo down. Chocolate bar is usually if it's chocolate. Candy bar if it's got other junk thrown in (fruit, nuts, crunchy frog). Kim, is it pop, soda, tonic, or coke for you? Do Vancouverites' say Pop and PEIers' say soda?

Where's Producer Ryan? We've got all the other Dharmalars posting. Time to get him in on the thread, damnit.

Mike Campbell said...

This was over at IMDB.COM on their news feed...
Lost stars Naveen Andrews and Dominic Monaghan are bemoaning the lack of screen time they have in the third season of the desert island show. The British actors earn a reported $78,000 a week playing Sayid Jarrah (Andrews) and Charlie Pace (Monaghan), but admit they spend a lot of time sitting around with nothing to do. Andrews says, "Even though I like getting paid for doing nothing, it is nice occasionally to work." Monaghan adds, "As one person works more, work is being taken away from another. You have to make your peace with that. Executive producer Carlton Cuse explains, "The actors are frustrated. They're all really good at what they do and it's difficult when they don't get a chance to do it."

aimee is lost said...

I lived in Wisconsin for two years in my early teens and I HATED the term "soda pop" or "pop". I'm sorry, but I grew up in California, and it's was just freaking soda. Just soda. Argh. They also called wedgies "grundies" which I still to this day do not understand.

aimee is lost said...

That was from the big USA Today article.

PalmerEldritch said...

A couple of threads back, Aimee posted some links to articles about that. They went into more detail than the IMDB.com one. Check the posts under "3x10 Tricia Tanaka is Dead (Pre-episode Discussion)"

memphish said...

Soda, pop, you're all wrong -- it's all Coke. Coke is the southern generic for all soft carbonated beverages, even of the Pepsi flavor.

PalmerEldritch said...

My buddies in Seattle say pop. I can deal with it though. What blows my mind is that New England's hotdog buns are so fundamentally different than most hotdog buns!

memphish said...

The cable guy is here, and he just locked his keys in his car for the 2nd day in a row. That's a pretty good sign I won't be getting LOST in HD tomorrow isn't it?

PalmerEldritch said...

Memphish,

that's awesome. not for you about the HD, but its funny as hell that he locked himself out. once, we had a cable guy over to fix the cable and he parked his truck, walked around the back of it, hit his head on the ladder hanging off the back, and landed flat on his back. i wish i had seen that.

memphish said...

Yeah Palmer, he borrowed a coat hanger so he doesn't have to call his superviser again. Looking out the window, I'd say it's not going so good.

memphish said...

Aimee,

I'm going to the beach next week. What should I take to read?

Holli

aimee is lost said...

I love that you're watching him; that sounds hilarious.

aimee is lost said...

If you are a true Lost fan, The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne because it is SO Lost.

Benjamin said...

What is it about the cable van that he thinks is any different than a car? Or is he constantly locking his keys in his car?

Of interest to the dialect discussion might be this old gem: http://www3.uwm.edu/Dept/FLL/linguistics/dialect/maps.html

The creators sent out surveys asking about pronunciation and word usage and charted the responses against a map of the States.

Stephanie said...

I call it all candybars. I use the word coke for all sodas.
Nathan's hair didn't bother me. It's his huge jaw and high-waisted pants that bug me.

While rewatching Tricia Tanaka for the third time, I noticed Sun talks down to Jin now. She sure has gotten brave over the last 60 something days.
Also, the ending scene that is pointing out how isolated Sawyer is from the rest reminds me of the scene last season when he's petting Vincent. Isn't that when Jack and Kate are caught in the net?

Benjamin said...
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
Benjamin said...

Well, I can't get the whole link to paste. Sorry, guys. It should end in maps.html

aimee is lost said...

Ben’s Link

memphish said...

Cable dude update -- he managed to break into his own truck because "luckily" the door is cracked.

Aimee, I've read both of those books. If I ever need to start my own civilization I'm ready as long as I have my copy of The Mysterious Island with me. And Our Mutual Friend was awesome. I've read a lot of the big LOST books. What else you got?

memphish said...

There's a quiz here that determines what kind of accent you have.

I like Ben's link because it proved all along that I say aunt like most people and not like the snobby Virginia girl who moved to our town in 4th grade.

Stephanie said...

Thanks Aimee. Very interesting Ben.
When I was obsessing over recording a podcast and having this horrible slack-jaw, a friend pointed out to me that because of all the relocating people do now, the Southern accent will be obsolete soon. So, I should be proud of sounding like a yokel, I guess.

aimee is lost said...

Hindsight by Peter Wright was really cool (it was on the bookshelf in the Swan station.) It's a cross between the movie Paycheck and the Da Vinci Code, but with some definite Lost twists in there, like Dharma/Hanso stuff. Very cool book.

Umm, Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy was also in the Swan snatch and was a lot of fun to read. I didn't think I was going to like this book but it turned out to be a non-stop thrill ride. It's like reading a Bruce Willis action movie. And another giant Dharma/Hanso conspiracy thing going on in this one as well, so it was cool.

Stephanie said...

Well, I'm not surprised. I sound southern according to the quiz.
Holli, how in the world to you lock your keys up two days in a row? What a dumbass. Man, I need to get something done here and get off this computer.

aimee is lost said...

Apparently I come from the West. People do not believe I have any accent at all.

Benjamin said...

I locked my keys in my car three days in a row one time. I wasn't even on drugs or anything, I was just extraordinarily stupid. From that point forward for a period of at least a year I wore a spare car key on a necklace.

memphish said...

Steph, yeah, the quiz pegged me too even though my friends down in LA (lower Alabama) said when I came home from college in Memphis I talked like a Yankee.

Aimee, I don't think that people in the West have an accent. However, I found when I lived in So. Cal. that they think that anyone with a Southern accent is from Texas.

I'm going to give Hindsight a try. I read that Clancy eons ago.

Despite Cable dude's key issues, he's got my HD up and running for now. Pray that it's up tomorrow at 9 central.

Jimmy said...

I've been listening to the "opposition" , and ourselves. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Sung Hi Lee played Tricia Tanaka.

Am I the only one who ever followed her previous career????

aimee is lost said...

What, was she like a porn star or something??

Jimmy said...

Hope you weren't at work, Aimee ;)

aimee is lost said...

Oops. Yes I was! Hahahaha. Dirty Naughty Tricia Tanaka!

PalmerEldritch said...

Dirty naughty Tricia Tanaka sounds like fun!

PalmerEldritch said...

Ah, Sung Hi Lee? Yes, this is one of those girls whom you'll see naked on the internet whether you're trying to or not. Just about any website hosting Desktop Backgrounds.

I remember in high school, I googled "Static Electricity Experiment" and the first hit had something to do with a naked Pamela Anderson. Ack!

Ralph- said...

back in '95 when i was just getting out of high school i would pick up playboy Lingere books. you know, for all my lingere needs and i totally remember Sung Hi Lee. funny. i had no idea that was her.

PalmerEldritch said...

Mmmm... Rolph and Boner in lingerie...

wait... what?

Benjamin said...

Wait, was Pamela rubbing her balloons on someone's hair as part of the experiment? Or was that just a dream I had?

aimee is lost said...

She was the asian chick from high school porn movie The Girl Next Door.

aimee is lost said...

Great Palmer. Now I'm not only deaf, but I'm also blind (from sticking red hot pokers in my eyes to try to burn those images out of my head.)

Good job.

PalmerEldritch said...

I don't know what she had to do with the static electricity. I was afraid to click. But that was back in the days of MetaTag spamming so porno was always the number one result no matter what you searched for. Heck, that was probably pre-Google. Like NexusLexus, Webcrawler, or AltaVista. Ack. I'm old. But not as old as you. Ha ha!

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee,

Picturing Rolph and Boner in lingerie + going blind... sounds like a masturbation joke.

aimee is lost said...

Just when I thought the thoughts in my head couldn't get any worse Palmer, you say something else. Thanks buddy.

PalmerEldritch said...

You'll thank me later. :p

aimee is lost said...

Uh, when? When I go home and decide to shoot myself?

Wait a second, aren't YOU the one who came up with this? What's your deal?

PalmerEldritch said...

Heheheheheh. Sorry, Aimee. I'll stop trying to gross you out.

So, is this Tricia Tanaka played by a naked chick a portent of things to come? Can we expect Hef and his three gals in a Rose flashback? Ron Jeremy in a Vincent flashback?

aimee is lost said...

Whoa, the last thing this show needs is interspecies erotica.

Anonymous said...

I never knew that the Candy vs. Chocolate bar discussion would escalate to this level, and branch off into such a debate.

I say pop not soda, I say highway not freeway, I say windsheild not bugscreen, and I say "Zed" not "Zee". I feel like that dude in the "I Am Canadian Beer commercial". Ben, remember that? I know you hate Canadians, so I'm treading lightly here ;) (**You can see it on my myspace page**)

Update on Toronto weather/traffic for all of you that couldn't sleep last night thinking of my safety ;) lol. All is well today (so far), that highway that was closed (because of the falling ice from the CN Tower) has been re-opened. Looks like I'll be back in the sky reporting in about an hour

Palmer, I will post my Heroes theories later I have to get ready to head out to the plane, hopefully we can to a fly by and I can take a picture of the Tower.

aimee is lost said...

Be careful Kim! And post a picture for us if you get one; that would be awesome!

PalmerEldritch said...

HelicopterKim is my favorite Kim. Even cooler than RadioKim. Is it wrong that I assume that you use this helicopter to fight crime?

Oh wait. HelicopterKim is really RadioHelicopterKim, eh? New favorite Kim.

The Zed thing bothers me. But the rest of the stuff you are saying correctly. Who the hell says bugscreen? ?Parabrisas?

aimee is lost said...

I'm going to try and get her to say it by accident on the next podcast, so we can hear it come out naturally.

Benjamin said...

You know I don't hate Canadians. I totally love on Canadians. I think noticing our differences is part of celebrating diversity, or something. I remember that beer commercial. It seemed a little defensive, no? ; )

I think we agree on all the different word choices you posted, with the exception of highway. I only use highway if it's a highway, and freeway if it's a freeway. There's a difference, and an appropriate time for either.

But there's never an appropriate time for Rolph and I to don lingerie.

aimee is lost said...

Nice speech, Ben!

PalmerEldritch said...

Aimee, did the totally gross story not make it into the podcast? :(

PalmerEldritch said...

And does Memphish have HD yet?!

Anonymous said...

The gross part of the story WILL be in the podcast...once I get my PC back, and I can edit in the part that was missing :(

~K

PalmerEldritch said...

Phew! Thank goodness.

What happened to the PC?

Benjamin said...

It read the story stored in its data banks and gagged itself with a spoon. Consequently, Kim has to call IT in to remove the spoon from the memory cache.

aimee is lost said...

Kim, which was worse, my story, or Ben & Ralphy in lingerie?

aimee is lost said...

I totally didn't mean to put that y after Ralph. That was an accident.

Ralph- said...

I dont mind the "y" aimee.

aimee is lost said...

Okay Ralphy :)

PalmerEldritch said...

Do you prefer the Y or the IE at the end of Ralph? IE too girly? Not girly enough?

And to cleanse everyone's lingerie thoughts, Tricia Tanaka. Feel better, everybody?

memphish said...

Man, you leave to help your sick mother and take care of your child, and you hope that you'll be the 108th post, but no.

BTW, I totally bought a Cadbury egg today at the grocery checkout just to make sure that the mark on the egg was the same as the one on Juliet's back -- and it was!

Two hours later, I still have HD, but this is Memphis.

Stephanie said...

And that's one of the best things about Easter, Holli.

Stephanie said...

Now, what would a Cadberry Egg be considered as? It's not a bar.

Benjamin said...

I think you'd just have to say candy. A Cadbury Egg is just candy. Candy I'll probably buy on the way home now, and justify with some excuse about checking out a Lost lead. Good pick, whoever thought of that, by the way.

aimee is lost said...

Own a piece of the Lost Flight 815 wreckage, signed by show creators J.J. Abrams & Damon Lindelof.

Now accepting bids:
$$$

PalmerEldritch said...

Ben,
I'm pretty sure that Cadbury eggs were invented by Chaucer in the 14th Century.

/no good at literature

Anonymous said...

according to the quiz Memphish posted I have a Midland accent (ie. no accent at all) It's funny because native Pittsburghers have really crazy accents and dialects. I can't even imitate it well although i'm slowly taking on some of the dialect. I grew up in Norfolk VA and i've got some trouble words. "Water" sounds more like "wooder" and the "pen/pin" thing.

i feel so spoiled with a new episode of Lost every week and the accompanying podcasts.

andrew.

PalmerEldritch said...

So, everyone, was Tricia Tanaka good looking or do you prefer your women a little meteor?

/even i'm ashamed

Jimmy said...

Shameless, but clever, Palmer!!!

aimee is lost said...

Hats off to Palmer.

Stephanie said...

I know how you feel, Andrew. I'm afraid to let my self get used to the feeling of being so satisfied. Satisfied because of getting Lost so often and such an enjoyable episode as Tricia Tanaka. I have to psych myself up for this week. I keep trying to tell myself that Sayid's are always good. Son of a bitch. Tomorrow's Wednesday already.
