"Faraday has the build of a 13 year old boy." Kim - exactly

Actually, that was also from the 13-year old girl that emailed us. I like my men to be a little meatier, and a little less pedophily.

PalmerEldritch said...

but just a little?

creepy, aimee. creepy.

i wonder if Faraday going back in time to the 70s led to the Mullet Revolution of the 80s.

Just as long as Sawyer doesn't die, and the island doesn't magically put all his thoughts into Ben's brain, making Ben think that he is Sawyer. I hate you, Heroes.

So I'm listening to the guy that was complaining about the DI being so full of jackasses and even though I agree (Radzinsky is a lunatic).. You've got to believe that they are such dousche's for something we don't really know yet.

It reminds me of Ana Lulu saying to someone who was on the front of the plane "You're just not scared enough." Because the others were brutal to the tailies but not at all to the people in the fuselage.

So Sawyer and Jack and all the people that have only been in DI for a few years or a few days aren't privied to the information that Chang and Horace are probably.

It has to be something like that like Chang knows about the purge and is working his ass off to stop it so everyone in the circle of trust is on edge. They wouldn't all just be assholes for no reason. Isn't one of the goals of the DI to establish 'utopian society?' It sure was.

Maybe Faraday went to LA in the 70s to talk to his brother "Charlie" for a little Helter Skelter action.

Jordan said...

What's with all the hate?Faraday is awesome.

And if you haven't seen it before (or even if you have).Faraday explains the mystery of the island (not really).

PalmerEldritch said...

told Charlie about how the Dharma Initiative was just one big happy "Family," eh?

PalmerEldritch said...

i like Faraday (just not like like him).

he's our Doc Brown. good stuff. sure, he's in love with Charlotte but he's a weirdo.

memphish said...

That commercial is banoodles. Gee I wonder why I never bought a Subaru, oh yeah, because that is the most annoying car commercial ever.

For tonight I predict Faraday will insist they do or not do stuff without a valid explanation why; Kate will step in a giant polar bear turd probably metaphorically, but it would be better literally. Jack will try to remain Zen and Juliet will tell him get over it, that's her schtick. Hurley and Miles will banter. Locke, Ben and Sun will be ignored -- again. And there will be no word on what lies in the shadow of the statue.

PalmerEldritch said...

what lies in the Shadow of the Statue? Ben Linus. of course, he lies where ever he goes.

Not that I've ever been a huge twitterer. (I've tried it, and had fun for like a day or so, then got really bored.) But if I was really into it, the current fad of everybody and anybody in the media bragging about tweeting would drive me away from it.

THIS TWITTER SHIT IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!*Note to the kiddos. When Larry King and Martha Stewart are twittering, your cool new toy ain't so cool no more.

PalmerEldritch said...

What do Chuck Fugger, Vanilla Dong, Velvet Milkman, Uranus Golden, and Nutritious Love have in common?

They're just same of the weird names from http://nameoftheyear.blogspot.com/.

Jordan said...

Also a funny Lost shout out at the end of that clip, for all you "Lost only" types.

scrdmnkydst said...

I predict that in the time that Faraday's been away that he will have had an unwittingly clandestine tryst with his mother, thus becoming his own father.

It seems like the sort of creepy thing that he'd do.

aimee is lost said...

Joel McHalein response to the Twitter craze: "Smoke Monster on Lost says he's gay for Ashton!"

Jordan said...

And for the record (seeing how this is the overly sensitive internet), I was not in any way ripping on people for tweetering. This is an internet blog afterall. Not exactly the cool kids table. :P Just found that clip was hilarious. Also, it really is out of control how everyone and their mother in media or journalism now feels obligated to twitter (and constantly talk about it), in a sad effort to try and stay relevant.

Nother funny clip from The Soup. Why does watching it make me hungry?

And LOST too, right?

aimee is lost said...

I can't see youtube videos from work, but I actually saw the soup last friday, so that's why I got the reference.

Jordan said...

One of the funniest things I've seen on the internet in some time. Seriously, watch it. Whether you are a twitter nut or a twitter hater, this is hilarious. WATCH OUT FOR THE FAIL WHALE!!!

Also, LOST. (gotta stay on topic)

Jordan said...

Aimee, can't you see them on your fancy dancy iphone?

well as i stated in our SECOND LOST (missing) episode. I think that Faraday has been working at the Lampost for the last 3 years, and because of the Jumpsuit, he has been working on Jughead and the Swan station.

PalmerEldritch said...

i prefer to think that he's been working in a jug band.

alternately, he's been growing juggs.

i hope he's been setting up Bram's organization, "The Stokers." why? cuz i picked that theory out of a hat a while back.

aimee is lost said...

Yes, I can, but I'm lazy.

Have you been delving into Jeremy Davies' filmography?

- Definitely think Faraday will be trying to tell people they have to do crazy shit without really explaining 'the why' to them. 'it's complicated.'

- But our Losties should also be dealing with the repercussions of Phil and Roger Workman getting suspicious. I can't remember, was Daniel with them when Sawyer & crew originally got caught by DHARMA? Will they know he's with them?

- Stephanie - is there a place to watch Supernatural online? My CW station was without sound last Thursday.

I seem to have missed a few threads. Hello!

But encountered a Heroes Spoiler. no character names, obviously, but still pretty annoying.

you know....I'm on my third cup of coffee and dozing off. I guess I was being a bit optimistic when I told myself that an hour and a half of sleep would be plenty.

it's Lostnesday right?

/perks up momentarily :)

And I guess nobody noticed when I made the Ben Linus Lies joke and posted the Subaru video :(

Sorry, everyone - feeling slightly more pointless than usual. I'll get over it.

Who would've thought that the inspiration for Jar Jar Binks came from an old racist Australian commercial for a chicken ham and cheeseburger. Seriously though. Really Australia? Wow.

Hey Steph. Have you ever been to Flea Market Montgomery? Apparently it's just like a mini-mall.

shiite, chris. didnt mean to snag your linus joke. must be a case of cryptomnesia. i'm the George Harrison to your Chiffons(, the)!

PalmerEldritch said...

oh and cw's website has episodes of their shows on it, andrew.

Jordan said...

You know you are going to be singing that mini-mall song for days. lol.

If the mini mall guy wasn't funny enough, check out this dude's site.

Jones' Big Ass Truck Rental and StorageScroll down for his commercials, which are HILARIOUS. I first saw him on youtube and didn't think it was real. But it is!

Interesting Variety article about Lost and how it's large DVR viewership is turning away advertisers.

Really the story is bigger than strictly Lost. Pretty much what it comes down to is that advertisers DO NOT CARE about how many people watch a show on DVR. Seeing as how they are all just ff'ing past the ads. But didn't we all know that already? Funny how the industry people and ad execs are just now figuring that out.

PalmerEldritch said...

honestly, it doesnt make sense to watch commercials once you have a DVR. advertisers have a point if they think that nobody is watching their annoying, shitty commercials.

i dont know what the solution there is though. advertising over the program? a little "Sponsored by" tag in the corner? that sounds infuriating to me. advertisers are screwed. maybe this will push advertisers away from tv and towards more on-demand services like streaming from websites where you can disallow fast forwarding during the mandatory 30 second commercials.

also, i'm more apt to watch Fringe without a delay than other shows because of their "limited commercial interruptions."

scrdmnkydst said...

Literally all the programmes on uk tv, not including the stuff on the BBC which is funded by the license fee and has no advertisements whatsoever, have sponsorship on them. they act as a warning(?) for when the programme is coming back on so you don't have to mess about with rewinding.

To be honest, I don't mind adverts. I just don't pay attention to them. Or I mute.

MB, why does your thread seem to last 5-6 posts? :(

Anyway, the news all over Toronto has had LOST 100th episode specials today. Everyone is back on the bandwagon it seems b/c of this milestone.

memphish said...

I tend to watch the commercials on Fringe even when I watch via DVR because it's not worth ff through 60 or even 90 seconds. I think that's what more shows should do. Of course I do ff through that long break right before the end of Fringe every week.

But I think the real key is more slankets.

- thanks for the tip for watching Supernatural on CW's site Kirk. I just watched the latest episode while at work. extremely slow day :(

- Television is just in a painful period of transition. Television and computer and internet technology is slowly merging. Soon enough everyone will watch their shows on-demand, the same as surfing to a website, and they'll get served targeted advertising that they can't fastforward through, like the way its set up on most internet-streaming shows now. I'm sure in our idiocratic society, cheap and dumb shows will thrive, but maybe the targeted advertising will also steer high-end retailers to the smarter, more discerning audiences.

Also, networks love to muck up the bottom of the screen with their in-house ads, so maybe instead of trying desperately to get me to watch Krod Mandoon (or whatever the fuck its called) they should advertise Bounty towels and Snicker bars like that.

- is it weird that i'm missing Claire? I think she could be a cool character now that Aaron is off-island, and her lines aren't limited to 'mahbehbey'

JoeSC said...

"also, i'm more apt to watch Fringe without a delay than other shows because of their "limited commercial interruptions."I agree completely. I think that was a great move on Fox's part. I watch too many shows where the commercial breaks are so long, they actually take you out of the show. With Fringe, that NEVER happens. Outside of the last commercial break, I never have to wait more than 90 seconds for more nerdy goodness!

JoeSC said...

Oh, almost forgot...

HAPPY LOSTNESDAY BLOGSPOTTERS!!!

It was cruel and unusual punishment making us wait this long for Faraday's return... I really, really hope it's worth the wait.

mb said...

B/c I so often now post the spoiler seg the nite before, or early morning of Lostnesday. I SHOULD be getting the seg up on Tuesday morning.

Stephanie said...

Jordan, no I haven't been to the Montgomery Flea Market. Yet.

Watching a television show without fast-forwarding through commercials is excruciatingly painful. Unless it's something compelling like Lost, I end up distracted with something like laundry and never come back. I've got an idea that might solve this problem. Why don't they come up with more entertaining adverts?

Andrew, Jump the Shark was pretty good, right? I thought at first the reason Supernatural and Buffy were so similar was because it was targeting the same audience. But now I see Kripke was a big fan of the show.
What the heck is Krod Mandoon?

PalmerEldritch said...

i miss Claire too.

i don't miss her talking though.

LOSTNESDAY!!! i'm about 80 minutes away. looking forward immensely.

will we learn about that blonde lady (theresa?) that was in England when Desi went to visit? will we learn about Mrs. Hawkins? will we learn about Bram and the Stokers? will we learn about the DeGroots?

andrew. said...

- Stephanie - i've been pretty happy with this season of Supernatural. I'm really not interested in the bigger arc stuff, and, unfairly, i keep imagining that the creators are going to just surrender the show to the big mythology stuff completely. Instead they continue to have solid stories like the latest episode.

- Krod Mandoon is a terrible new show on Comedy Central that's a crude spoof on sword & sorcerer fantasy stuff.

- Barack Obama just cut himself off in mid-sentence because he wants to watch LOST.
