And also...source please. :)

Maybe Danielle's going to help Kate kick some Ana-Lucia ass.

I'm fairly positive that a cat-fight is somewhere in Lost's future, and although I'm totally rooting for Kate, I just don't think she could take on Ana-Lucia without some help.

Did you not get chills during that crazy bitch staredown between Kate and Ana-Lucia? I'm not even a guy, but I can't wait to see some rumbling in the jungle between them.

Aimee:

Yes, there was a cra-zay bitch stare down with AL and Kate. I got that, too.

As a woman who likes women, I'm gonna go with Kate/Sun, not Kate/AL.

Thank you for the source. Research can do wonders! :)

The pic looks like a DHARMA Pylon right out of "Land Of The Lost".

I think the way poor schmuck Jack is going AL and Kate are going to become friends and Jack will not hook up with either after they start talking. Or they could both side up with Jack and be part of his Army against Sawyer as the New Sheriff and he will still not get any action.

Can anyone decifer a Symbol on the "Gate"?

i am going to call this "hatch" the "gate", even if the inside of it is an Ice Rink! it will forever be known as the "Gate"!

Ralph- said...

i looked at the "Gate" closer, and noticed that the picture is of Two Snakes twisting around each other, called Caduceus.

Boston got at least 18 inches of snow and all I got was my 8am Regulatory Cellular Biology lecture cancelled!

(woo hoo!)

Alyx said...

Dayum! Congrats Katie on the grounds that you are taking 8 am's (killed me) and you deserve to not go to at least one class... (serves those 10 am students right)

Meanwhile, if OKC ever got 18 inches of snow, the city would shut down and the world as we know it would end until Chuck Norris parts the heavens and makes it melt (yes the Vista has been rubbing off a bit)

Alyx said...

oh and Katie, how the hell do you stay awake in that class? the title make me tired!

Ralph- said...

i believe that the "gate" was where Clair was taken by ethan!

Katie said...

I stay awake because I have to, basically.

Oh, and that's my only class until 2:50pm, so I just get up, stick it out, then go home and sleep.

I'm a senior in my last semester, so I'm not on a grueling schedule (although I do have 17 credits this semester...not bad for a science major). Reg cell (as it's called in the biz) is the basis of neuroscience, and that's my major, so even though it's a challenge, I have a huge jump on it.

18 inches in Boston isn't totally uncommon. In my 5 years at Northeastern (NU is a 5 year school because we do paid interships called co-ops), there has only been 5 days off. One was for a freak blackout in my 3rd year (the year we all do our thesis, so that was good for me!) and the rest was for snow, and I know we've had storms like this A LOT...More than 4 days of snow days.

What they do is: not cancel
university day classes, have us (the students) come to class, and see if the profs made it in or not. If they don't make it in, there's no class, if they do...well, then we have class. I was just lucky because this prof emailed us all and said she's not coming in. It's not so bad for me, because I'm close enough to walk, but think about those who take the T (the subway/public transportation in Boston) or drive in. They are ALWAYS pissed!

Oh and by the way...

Chuck Norris can touch MC Hammer.

Good thinking Ralph... and if that isn't where Ethan took Claire, I'm guessing that's where the guy who had the rash (in season 1) is hiding. Or did he die already?
But I have heard (from the Lord) that Claire is going to start regaining her memory (oh yeah she lost it) and I bet she starts to remember once she goes into the gate (hockey rink) and everything looks familiar (torture devices).
OOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Hurley will find a big sack of weed in there and go party w/ Vincent.

i was just lookin at those fake logos for the dharma stations that have been circulating around for a few monthes...i noticed that the logo on one of those 'fake' logos IS IDENTICAL to that of the logo on the door...maybe they werent fake after all...the logo is also matched with a hatch name / hanso study, that being, "human advancement." wow i'm a god damn genius.

Lostaway said...

The genuis, good point but...

Would i be right by saying that this logo is used in America for medical purposes? ie. Hospital logos?

That symbol, associated with ancient Greek physicican Hippocrates, is used as an image of the medical profession because of the Hippocratic oath doctors swear to uphold.

Now, onto more important matters. Elvis, are you saying you're not from America? Is this why you think Elvis lived in Nashville and not Memphis?

What does 'ish' mean in "Check out this ish"?

Love the podcast!

Lostaway said...

Scottandsteve,

I know Elvis is from Memphis but, i have some good ol boys in Nashville.

Oh you guys are the flash :P

Lostaway said...

Also, technically no, i`m not from America.

Hey Scott and Steve. I love your podcast! The other day, you guys were discussing what those lines on the DHARMA symbol mean. I've been curious myself. When I got to looking at it, though, something seemed familiar. Don't those symbols look an awful lot like the symbols on the South Korean Flag?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_South_Korea.svg

There is a connection here, too, with Jin and Sun both being South Korean. Wikipedia says that the images on the flag mean, Heaven, Earth, Moon, and Sun. Several of those images are also on the DHARMA symbol. Just thought that may add to the discussion. Thanks for your great show!

Hey Scott & Steve,

Slappy from Memphis here. Love your Podcast, keep your swear switch on Dylan! To follow up on on Keenan's post, here are some more details about the trigrams (Kwae) on the S. Korean Flag:

The symbols, called Kwae, in the four corners, mean the principle of movement and harmony. Basically, each Kwae consists of three bars that can be either broken or unbroken bars. A broken bar stands for yin while an unbroken bar stands for yang. For example, the upper left Kwae, called Kun, is composed of three solid unbroken bars. And the lower left Kwae, called Yi, is composed of two unbroken bars and one broken bar in between. Since one bar can be either broken or unbroken, i.e. same concept as bit as in the binary computer world, three bars can express 2**3 = 8 combinations. If you use four bars you can express 2**4=64 combinations; 10 bars, 2**10=1024, etc. Therefore the more bars you use the more different situation you can express with Kwae. Among so many states of Kwae, i.e. principle of movement of objects and events, four basic Kwae are used in the Korean National Flag. Those are Kun meaning heaven, Yi meaning fire, Kam meaning water, and Kon meaning earth. Each of them symbolizes a different state of movement.

Thanks, Indigo.

Ish is a colloquialism short for issue. However, it is used to replace a so-called four letter word in the radio edits of explicit pop songs. Which four-letter word? All three letters in "ish" appear in this word but in a different order. The fourth letter is a beverage popular in England and India.
