And jordan, from the last thread, blowing away fools in that GTA game is a great way to burn some of that anger.

Just so you know, lots of sports fans around the country think that what's going on with the Sonics is a complete fucking disgrace. A sports team means so much more to a city than just a thing owner by some obscenely rich guy, and the Sonics are a team that has a rich heritage and a great fan base. The way that Stern has just stood there and facilitated it is disgusting.

and p.s., I did try to join your multiplayer invite the other day ... I checked the invite, then went to save my game at a safehouse ... when I came out, the invite was gone.

I freakin hate Admiral Cain.
That was good. Very moving. I'm tired of the Losties pointing guns into the jungle and out comes one of the freighties. How may more times are they going to do that?

Anonymous said...

Hah! Admiral Cain! Or should I say, Admiral Pain? Hah. Yes, I am currently running on sugar.

Wait-so Aaron is the sixth? Ugh! Am I the only one who missed this? I totally thought there was going to be this huge reveal about who the last Lostie was going to be. Bummer.

So technically, yes, they have written off Claire. Though the look on Jack's face...yeesh. Maybe that's why at one point Jack didn't want to be around Aaron (and therefore Kate)?

Oh, and The Office was lovely. Toby! I shall miss you.

good stuff that lost.

and the office was much less squirm worthy than i had anticipated. kevin is the man.

the new lady is pretty funny. and Andrew Bernard saved the episode.

i went to school with a guy who IS andrew bernard. i wonder if he ended up going to Cornell?

back to LOST for a bit: THAT IS A FUCKLOAD OF C4.

Stephanie said...

The Office totally made up for last weeks poor performance. I didn't think we'd see Pam and Jim engaged. I thought maybe Jim would ask and Pam would decline. I thought maybe Pam would want to finish school or something like that. I liked how it turned out.

Stephanie said...

Jordan, The Shield and Homicide: Life on the Street are both excellent. I hear both The Wire and Homicide were based on books by the same author or something like that.

[ally] said...

So... that was an awesome set up. Can't wait to hear what happens next.

I'm so excited! I hope I can contain my excitement for 2 weeks!

Stephanie said...

I had family members talking during the show. The story the 6 are telling world is their own lie and not one mandated by Oceanic Airlines. Right?

PalmerEldritch said...

sure seems like it steph but i'm not 100% sure.

solid episode all around. lots of interesting tidbits but i thought they had goofed with the timeline a bit until Christian Shephard's memorial.

PalmerEldritch said...

p.s. happy birthday, kim. hope you enjoyed your birthday LOST!

Trevor McFur said...

They didn't tell you who came up with the lie Steph.

I was a little reckless with my surfing today and came across a site that had a major-league spoiler hidden by inviso-text ... I was able to restrain myself and not highlight it, but I was really hoping that we'd get that answer tonight, because, wow, it's gonna be tough to hold out for two weeks knowing it's just sitting there for the reading.

andrew. said...

- those lost writers are tricksy. i spent the entire episode waiting for the oceanic 6 to be in the same place at the same time. & that's probably what i'll be doing in 2 weeks too

- The Shiled is good. It walks a weird line where it touches on some crazym gritty topics but it has an equal amount of meathead action moments.

- Homicide is excellent. I highly recommend it to fans of The Wire because it's bascially its predecessor and touches on some of the same themes but with different characters and dynamics. It's also really funny and terribly tragic. There's also a ton of episodes so it should serve you well through the long, cold hiatus.

- Lost!

Trevor McFur said...

andrew I kept thinking the same thing, waiting for the O6 to be together. Did anyone else thing that, when Sun & Aaron were walking away from the boat cabin, that there was gonna be a big kaboom! and the boat was gonna go up?

Questions about The Big Lie that I was hoping they'd answer:
1) who were the other 2 survivors?
2) who'd supposed to be Aaron's father?

Trevor McFur said...

We know, I guess, that the other 2 weren't Jin or Claire.

t-dot kim said...

Great episode! Really good set-up for the next 2 hrs.

The Office was funny too. The Kevin bit was funny...I'll miss Toby. They honestly need more Darryl and Kelly in their episodes.

t-dot kim said...

Seems like Jin is dead :( Sun said 2 ppl were responsible for his death. I wonder if the other person is Michael...

Trevor McFur said...

I think that the 2nd person that she meant is herself. I still hold out hope that he's alive, though.

Trevor McFur said...

I wonder if, assuming that Michael isn't secretly off the island, Walt's grandmother is going to come forward now that the O6 are in the public eye (and have received mega-settlements from Oceanic).

Alirio said...

I thought tonight's episode of LOST was really full of information... lots of answers so far.

BTW I'd like to let all you lovely blogspotters that spoiled the Office for me that I forgive you...

C'mon!

PS: Best scene was Hurley seeing those numbers...

Mr. Bill said...

Hurley is one of my favorites, but he did a funny "run Forrest run" after seeing the numbers. That was great!

mb said...

Great! Excellent! Kick-ass! Gonna be a tough 2 weeks!

So - OMG I did not think Jack was going to find out about Claire yet - I was psyched it happened, but it was painful to watch. That is one intense day - finding out Claire's your sister and Aaron's your nephew at your Dad's funeral. But Jack's life is like this about 90% of the time it seems, so he ought to be used to getting his guts wrenched out by now.

I cracked up at Hurley's parents cluelessness throwing the Hawaiian party and then his dad asking [paraphrase] "you guys all talkin' about buildin' fires and stuff?" - lmao

and to echo Palmer - holy mother of kablammo that's a shitload of C4! Are we to assume that Keamy set that up or Michael? I'm blanking as to whether they telegraphed this previously.

Trevor - I also TOTALLY thought the boat was gonna blow when Sun walked out on deck

and speaking of Sun - her transformation into total do-not-fuck-with-me badass is complete. dayum.

I was really hoping we'd get to see Sayid or Daniel actually pass through whatever hides the island on the Zodiac (i.e. wanting it to be some kind of visible barrier). But that's just me being a SFX junkie - always wanting a cool-looking visual.

Chris JC said...

I guess if you're bang on the bearing, you get no SFX.

Sun's gone super chilled, the numbers are back, "New Otherton" just became canon. Good stuff - ending is a big unsatisfying but that's clearly the point.

Now, LOST fans as we are - is it amazing to realise that the scene at the start of this episode, which we could have rightfully expected to be the way the entire show ends, happens with two more seasons left to go?

To me, that's astonishing work.

Will Ben do his "kicking arse in the desert" time jump somewhere in the next two hours? My guess is yes, indeedy.

Also, Goooooo Numbers!

Unknown said...

Is anyone else thinking all the C4 is tied to the possible dead man's switch on Keamy?

Good episode. 2 weeks is going to be hard except for the fact that they are the last week of school and include a trip to the beach for me. In fact I'm going to "have" to watch the finale on a small, non-HD TV which is a bit of a pisser. But the idea of waiting until I get home is even worse.

Did Jack say that he'd been waiting 10 months to give his dad's eulogy? That doesn't compute in my brain given the Kate was 6 months pregnant at the crash, Aaron is 5 weeks old and he looks the same the entire episode thing.

I loved that Hurley's parents threw him an Island themed party and Hurley's remark to Sayid about them just not getting it. I wish they hadn't made such a big deal about the numbers on the car, just shown them and had Hurley pull the Forrest Gump.

And as Palmer said, how much money did they get that Sun can buy a controlling interest in her dad's company? Of course, I guess she got 2 shares, but still. And it sounded like in Mr. Paik's conversation that someone had embezzled money from the company too. Maybe that's how she actually got the money.

So the biggest mystery right now is how are the O6 going to be in 1 place at 1 time.

I'm not sure if I think Keamy's switch is tied to the C4 on the boat. It seems like the interference around the Island would make that system iffy at best. Keamy's plan to extract Ben and take him back to Widmore is a little fuzzy in the details too, but since I don't think his plan is going to succeed, I'm not going to worry about it. Odd though that Ben gave his little stick weapon to Locke instead of keeping it on him.

"And as Palmer said, how much money did they get that Sun can buy a controlling interest in her dad's company?"

i think that was trevor who pointed that out.

all i noticed is lots of explosives to blow things up with and a distinct lack of robots.

alirio, i too tried to watch the video of ralph jerkin' it (his knee!) but the video is screwed up.

PalmerEldritch said...

i'm guessing that Frank's helicopter will factor into getting the Oceanic 6 all together.

there must be a 7th survivor (Michael?) to be "The Dude in The Coffin." or maybe he or she is an off island person?!

did Keamy set up the C4? Michael seemed shocked. but Ben had given Michael C4 before. maybe Ben had that C4 hidden months ago? and only Desmond was smart enough to find the HUGE FREAKIN' PILE OF C4?

memphish said...

Hey Ralph and Jimmy, Was that music at the end new? It seemed new to me. I loved the single piano they played when Nadia and Sayid are first reunited, and then it swells with the strings and other instruments as the hug continues. And they used the Hurley theme in the Camaro too. Heartbreaking this time though.

How funny was Hurley looking for a burglar in his house and ready to hit him with a golden Jesus?

[ally] said...

When I saw Keamy come out of the bushes (twss), my first thought was SHOWDOWN!

I like that he didn't try to shoot Ben but just wacked him on the head instead.

I'm wondering how all the O6 are gonna come together, cause they couldn't be further apart right now.

Rrb said...

Hurley's Jesus stick was a gold Charlie Herion stash.
Ben can't die(my Guess).
So Keami knew bullets would'nt work. A hit inthe head thou would mos' def work!

Trevor McFur said...

Best line of the night was "Jesus Christ is not a weapon". Nice to see gold Jesus make a cameo, though.

I can see Hurley, Jack, Sayid, and KAte taking off with Frank, and Sawyer staying behind to find Claire. Methinks that Jack's incision is gonna get worse and force him to go (I have a hard time seeing him leaving voluntarily if there's still 815ers left alive on the island to save). But how Sun is going to get back with them ... maybe the freighter really is gonna explode, and they'll pick her out of the wreckage.

Ew and what about that weird/romantic look that Charlotte and Daniel shared. That is just such an odd couple. Cause she's such a bitch and he's such a lab rat (pun intended).

Chris JC said...

I was REALLY into the idea that the whispers had followed them from the Island, but I guess an inappropriately themed surprise party is good too.

I'm assuming that if Hurley had just come back from being a hostage in the Middle East, his family would throw him a "handcuffed to a radiator" party, put a bag over his head and read out caring messages into a video camera.

Ralph- said...

I think it is John's Destiny to go into the orchid. It is like the end of "Signs". There is a reason for everything. Each person does his/her part and once all those pieces are together, then and only then will the plan come together!

Hurley is there for a reason (maybe he sees dead charlie for the first time and that helps them out). Ben has the information and leads them to the interior orchid. Locke uses his squiggly squiggly legs to activate the machine!

it will all fall into place next week!!

Ally, that reminds me of the intro that Ryan made, but has never been posted on a show.

"Ben, prepared to be blown by Ralph"

it reminded me of Chef saying "I'm gonna make love to ya', CHILDREN."

andrew. said...

i typed some junks this morning but blogger glitched on me, uggh.

- I'm fairly positive that the C4 is Keamy's. Desmond & Sayid were both very surprised to find it. So the obvious conclusion is that the C4 is linked with the dead man's switch on Keamy's arm and if he drops below 50mph the freighter goes KABLAMO! That plan works when you're trying to keep the captain or one of the can't-wait-to-get-off-craphole-island losties from shooting you, but the glaring flaw in his plan is when he meets up with Ben or Locke who would like nothing more than to kill Keamy and blow up the freighter in one knife throw.

- I think Paik's conversation when Sun came in was about someone buying up the controlling shares using 5 different banks so they missed it until it was too late. It did seem like it was about embezzlement but Sun's announcement was the payoff.

- I'm pretty sure the 'next-next-week-on-Lost' teaser gave away the Oceanic 6's escape off of the island. It wasn't spelled out, but its there. I came really close to turning off the TV beforehand but i got weak looking into the dark 2 week void

- who do you think Ben was communicating with using the mirror? It's most probably an other/hostile/(their merry little group could really use an official name, they must self-identify somehow) but what was he saying? At the time of the scene I figured he was telling someone to let down their defenses, so either disable a sonic fence or other boobytrap or just refrain from sniping them, but then Keamy & crew had made it to Orchid without being sniped. I like the idea that soembody is going to let the smoke munster, but it seems like Keamy & crew wouldn't be caught as offguard this time around.

- I just hope Locke can refrain from blowing up the Orchid on our 1st viewing. I'm a little tired of Locke, who really isn't very perceptive ('hey, maybe these other video monitors show something different'), being the one to discover the big island mysteries.

- Did Claire's mom wake up from her coma on queue from the island? Did it heal her? That timing was really fortuitous.

- Does Hurley consider the Oceanic settlement to be a part of his cursed money? Will he live off that and just give up the Lottery winnings? or will he work for Randy at another mcJob? (Remember Randy video taping Hurley in the premier? I really hope that was just a cutesie cameo and doesn't have any bigger significance)

memphish said...

I took Hurley's crappy car to mean that he didn't take money from Oceanic either.

Ralph-

mb said...

Andrew - I also took Ben's mirror signals to be to a lookout to let them pass. And Ben seemed genuinely surprised that Keemy and co. made it to the Orchid b4 them - so they apparently are REALLY good at their job or have some sneaky method for eluding the Others.

It would be cool if Widmore, knowing about the others, gave Keemy some kind of cloaking tech or something to help elude them. Again - just my nerdy SFX addiction coming out I think :)

mb said...

but I still want Keemy to have the most painful death possible - don't get me wrong. I am waiting for him to be taken off guard by some mortal danger (be it smokey or what/who-ever), and for us to see the surprise on his face and then to have him die a screaming horrible death.

Yes I hate him.

[ally] said...

We couldn't tell that you hated him, MB.

I like the suspense that he brings to the show. Everytime I see him I just keep thinking something's gonna happen/blow up. I'll miss him when he's gone, but I'm sure some other danger will follow our 815ers when he's gone.

Jordan said...

First off, I really liked this episode! I know I can be a bit fussy with the show. Only because I like it so much. But this one was great! It definitely had the "let's get it on" season 3 finale vibe to it. Lots going on, many characters involved, fast pacing, pounding music, and tension building scenarios. Everybody keeps breaking off into groups which makes you wonder if it has any bearing on what ultimately happens to people. For example, when it Kate and Sayid went off after Jack and Sawyer, I couldn't help but think, "Which of these people doesn't belong?", and instantly wondered if it meant doom for Sawyer. Seeing as how the other 3 end up O6ers. Definitely setting up some big happenings in the 2 hr finale. I've been a bit skeptical about some of the show's change in direction, going to the extreme fantastic and supernatural. But I am fairly confident that this finale is going to be much like last season's. Should be an exciting and action packed 2 hours (1.5 factoring commercials).

I'm sorry Trevor and Ralph. I just do not see the Charlotte appeal. Yes, maybe it's because she always has a sour face. But still. Just look at her in the pic for this thread. If somebody were to just quickly glance at it, they'd have a hard time telling if it was Charlotte or Eric Stoltz in the movie Mask. Ok, maybe that's a bit harsh. But still, it's not the first time that connection came to mind.

I still don't get why some on here like Keamy so much. MB is dead on in his lusting for his death scene. I'm going to be entirely chauvinist here and blame it on a few of the female members here finding him a bit more appealing that they did Pickett or Ryan. Two characters who filled the same role in previous seasons, just not with the same characteristics. And regarding his mp3 player. I think it's tied to the c4.

I was very pleased in how the writer's decided to reveal the Jack-Claire connection to Jack. People have always been speculating as to how it would come to light. And this was much better than all the speculation I heard. Plus, what an emotional, well executed scene. Very well written. The entire time Claire's mom was talking, I found myself thinking, "JUST SAY HER NAME ALREADY!!!" And when she finally did, what a payoff. This is clearly one of the big factors in Dr. Jack going nutso and ultimately feeling the need to go back to the island. So what does that mean about Claire though? Either one of two things IMO. Either Claire in fact died, and Jack is now floored by this new info. He now feels the need to go back to the island to save whoever is still there. He already allowed his half sister to die. He doesn't want more people on his conscience. Or Claire didn't necessarily die, but was just never found again. In that case, Jack has a very specific reason for wanting to go back.

Admiral Cain. That actress is everywhere. At the same time I was watching her on BSG, she was also briefly on Prison Break. I think she was also on 24 for a bit. And yes, after checking IMBD, she was. Also turns out she was in an episode of Seinfeld back in the day. In the ep "The Big Salad". lol. But I wonder if her character is simply a representative from Oceanic and nothing more, or if she is going to come back and play a more involved role. Because if she does, expect her to be somebody we don't exactly like too well. Because everything I've ever seen her in, she plays a confident, hard ass, professional woman.

I don't think Jin is dead. I never have, and still don't. Something about the scene where Sun and the baby visited his grave just didn't seem as if he was actually dead. Sun wasn't anywhere near as emotional as I would have expected her to be. And with this ep, when she was asked about him in the press conference, before she answered, she stopped and looked at Jack. As if to sort of think for a moment what to say.

Speaking of the press conference scene. Ugh and ugh. It was as if the reporters purpose was to do nothing but tell the audience what questions to be asking and to set up more doubt and intrigue. Something tells me that if there were a real life case of this, the reporters, while annoying and obnoxious, would be focused a lot more on the human interest stories of the survivors, and not trying to dig up tons of dirt from the second they arrived. But of course, this is Lost. And what fun would the O6 be if their every move wasn't held to the light by somebody.

As for Sun's takeover of her father's company. I found that to be a bit hokey. For whatever reason the scene didn't come off well to me. Awfully convenient. And I'm worried that the show is sorta turning into Heroes with the whole "the parents are responsible for everything" explanation. With Penny's father, Sun's father, Jack's father, etc. If it turns out that they all were business partners in a company to save the world, but one of them went bad, I will shoot my tv. lol.

Mixed emotions watching Sayid's reunion with Nadia. With the whole knowing she is soon to be dead and all.

I liked when Admiral Cain said, "They're referring to you as the Oceanic 6. It's not the best name, but it's catchy." Could that be in reference to the fact that Aaron was on the plane originally? Cuz I know that I never liked the name. Had they been the O5, then fine. But O6 was terribly misleading the entire time we were trying to figure out who was who.

When Trevor previously typed ''The Big Lie'', I couldn't help but read "Bai Ling" initially. lol. Damn you sausage queen! Get out of my subconscious!!!

How about good ol' ornery Sawyer jumping to Dr. Jack's aid? I texted to a friend of mine during the show who is a huge Jack fan, "If the roles were reversed, no way in hell Jack would've done the same. He would've stayed with Kate." And I think it's true. Yeah, Sawyer also wanted to go save Hurley. But it was apparent that he wanted to help Jack too.

I have always liked Sawyer better than Jack. At the end of the day, he seems to be a better person. Not that Jack's terrible. But he's a bit of a spazz and doesn't always have the interests of others at heart. Sawyer may have started off mean and stand-offish, but as the show has progressed, he has truly become a loyal character. His actions rarely have his interests in mind any more. He has transformed into the loyal guard dog. Be it helping out Jack, Claire, Hurley, whoever. Sawyer to me comes off as somebody who never had friends or family, but now does. And because of that, he really appreciates them. It also plays into the whole him not wanting to leave the island thing. He said it this ep to Jack when he asked Jack was he was always in such a rush to leave. As well as when him and Kate played house. It's obvious that the life he's living currently is better than anything he has ever had. And that he doesn't want to give it up so soon. All that I've just said however, leaves me confused as to what I feel his fate will be. On one hand you have the fact that he doesn't want to leave the island. That right there says that he could very well simply choose to stay. But on the other hand, everything about Sawyer's character this season has been about establishing him as a heroic, selfless person. And I can't help but feel as if it's all to set him up for making the ultimate sacrifice. The way I figure it. Before all is said and done with this series, we are in for at least one BIG emotional death. Likely a few. But at least one BIG gut-wrenching death. And if I were to place bets right now, Sawyer would be my #1 pick.

Oh yeah. I loved it when Sawyer rubbed it in Jack's face about Locke being right to run away from the freighter people. How awesome was that? It's what I wanted to say to Jack from the moment he chose to go to the freighter. And Sawyer's "You don't get to die alone" comment was great too. It will be interesting to see what happens next to Jack and Sawyer. And what it is that splits them up in their eventual courses.

Great Ben and Locke interplay once again. Loved Ben saying that he wasn't be entirely truthful and Locke replying, "Since when have you ever been entirely truthful?"

What's up with Alpert and his jungle friends? They are obviously going to factor in big time with what goes down. They seem threatening right now. But we know that their interests most likely do not go hand in hand with Widmore's. So they can't be that bad, can they?

All in all, great episode. My only complaint is that wasn't longer. Now we wait two weeks for one that is.

If they do the parents are the cause thing, I guarantee Lost will do it better.

"from the writers of Transformers?
No. Thank you. I will not be watching."

That is a bit insulting to those writers, to specify them that way. Kurtzman and Orci are basically the guys JJ Abrams owes his career to. They were the writers on the first 2 seasons of Alias, also known as the 2 good seasons of Alias. Once they left, the show went waaaay downhill. They also wrote Mission Impossible III, which I thought was pretty good. This new show looks very much Alias meets something crazy. And if it's anything like the beginning of Alias, it could be pretty good.

Plus I sorta liked Transformers! lol.

Transformers and Hercules.

Specifically, the episode "Porcules" wherein Hercules is turned into a pig.

But Anna Torv, that Denethor guy, and ABADDON are in it. so, i'll prolly give it a chance.

of course, Pacey the Mighty Duck is in it too. and the backplot with Pacey and Denethor looks like it's ripped from the pilot to Bionica Jones...

but Anna Torv is Nariko in Heavenly Sword and kicked all sorts of ass in that role. so, i'll prolly try to stomach at least the first few episodes.

Transformers:

Big Robots, Sam's character = Good

Ancillary Characters, Forgetting about Ancillary Characters, Plot, Humor, Subplot with The Jesus as a Gov't Agent, Transformers peeing on people = VERY, VERY BAD

and this coming from a guy who enjoyed Porcules.

of course, ROBOTS + EXPLOSIONS = VERY, VERY GOOD.

Yeah. I agree on your Transformers take Palmer.

Much about the plot of this new show screams "proceed with caution". But I'm a huge Lance Reddick fan. The guy was very good on The Wire. His intensity eyes are without equal IMO.

I agree with Jordan about Charlotte is not an attractive girl. Like Kim said, she's busted up in the face. Also, I don't think Jin is dead either. Yeah Sun was upset when she visited the grave but it may just be because he's not around anymore not because he's dead.

[ally] said...

I got the Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way book today!

I'm so looking forward to reading it.

mb said...

So, I can already hear the Kimmel/Leno/Letterman jokes about another JJ Abrams show starting around an airplane mystery - lol
But I'm pretty sure I'll watch to see how it is.
RE: whether Jin is alive - Unfortunately, I just don't see how we can tell at all yet. her reaction at the press conference could be discomfort with the lie either b/c he's dead or still alive, and I imagine she thinks she will never see him again if he IS alive, so her grieving at the gravesite could also be b/c he's dead or just never coming back (as far as she knows - and as far as we know).

- Charlotte is beautiful on the inside, and when the Orchid station melts her face we'll be able to appreciate that fact.

- I got a really heavy Heroes vibe during the 2nd episode of this season (the one with flashbacks of the helicopter 4), but thankfully it fell away. I think Lost has been laying the groundwork for the families for some time, but really it's just Christian Shepherd & Mr. Paik. Nobody else's parents seem involved.

- I haven't seen Alias, but I agree with Stephanie, a "from the writers of Transformers" has me running the other way. sorry Lt. Daniels. (also, palmer's view of Transformers perfectly sums up my own with a little extra "holy plot holes" thrown in)

- Do you think we'll get the scene where Oceanic representatives 1st debrief the 06 (before they're flown to the press conference)? I can imagine the finale ending with losties pulling the rubber raft up on that island, greeted by the villagers, but Oceanic seems to be involved in the cover up in some way and so i'd like some foreshadowing there, maybe Abaddon standing in the back.

The first 2 seasons of Alias are great. Very compelling. The 3rd season is okay, but by 4 it stunk.

This is why he's waaaaayyyy better than Pickett.

UGH!

Ladies, all props to the ACTOR... but he is pure EEEVILLLL!!!!!

He needs to die

I agree he should pay for his crimes, but he should do it shirtless.

by 'he' I am of course referring to the character - I know nothing of Kevin Durand. perhaps if I saw him in a more positive role, I'd feel differently.

lmao Holli - good one

keamy's going away?

did they do a full body scan of that dude for the creatures in "I Am Legend"?

JORDAN:
I liked when Admiral Cain said, "They're referring to you as the Oceanic 6. It's not the best name, but it's catchy." Could that be in reference to the fact that Aaron was on the plane originally? Cuz I know that I never liked the name. Had they been the O5, then fine. But O6 was terribly misleading the entire time we were trying to figure out who was who.

That's Ensign Ro, man! And what she says (as a representative of Oceanic) is that them being called The Oceanic 6 isn't really the best branding that the company could hope for (as it will forever remind the public of exactly which company they were flying with when they went down).

Is what I reckoned.

mb said...

lol Ralph - I do not know. I'm not saying I necessarily want him dead in the finale, just that when he does go, I hope it's one of those where he's like "HOLY SHIT!" and terrified right before he bites it.

setup....

I've only ever seen Kevin Durand in Smokin' Aces. His character on Lost reminds me a lot of that guy.

Ralph- no one is sure whether he'll die or not, but everyone seems to want him dead.

Yall have probably allready chilled down from the episode, but I've just watched it and WOW! Amazing episode! Really liked it, and liked the build up to what's comming next even more! OMG HIATUS!
Can we still toss out Red Cards! here's one for hiatusses!!
No, really, nice installment, beautiful music, solid acting, nice revelations, the orchid! (and we havent even seen it all yet).

I agree with the fellas: Keamy needs to die. Spectaculary. something like Ben takes a hold of him and teleports to outerspace and drops him, or something of that nature. Can't wait to see how Ben'll talk his way out of that one. He even gave John his "magic stick".

Did Keamy anticipate that the Island folk would flee the island using the zodiac? Is that why he filled it to the brim with c4?

* Any transcripts on the whispers Hurley heard in the house?
* was there an image hidden in the static on that little screen on the boat?
* anyone translated the morse/lightflash codes Ben used and the answers? Might be interesting.

Chris JC said...

I only watched it once but the only word I picked up from Hurley's home whispers was "surprise", but as it turned out to be a fakeout coming from people about to spring a surprise party, then I guess that makes sense.

I bet even now some fans will argue that they were too clear to be coming from the people behind the door and that they must mean something.

Wesh said...

Yeah, I reckon it might've just been the folks behind the door, but still, with lost you never know, right? :)

Frank Lapidus? Pretty funny guy :)

Wesh said...

OK, it's not him says google (it's Bill Connolly, while Frank is played by Jeff Fahey) but whatever. they look much alike.

Had anyone ever heard this before about the new Indian Jones flick? Apparently George Lucas is a bigger moron than I previously thought.

"In its earliest incarnation, Lucas proposed an all-out alien flick called "Indiana Jones and the Saucer Men From Mars." Spielberg and Ford didn't like that idea, and it took more than a decade of wrangling to come up with a story all three could live with."

Alirio said...

that image of "Steamy" Keamy has me thinking he could play a young Christopher Walken....

The Continental on Steiroids???

[ally] said...

I've been looking at the screencaps of that screen with the static but there appears to be nothing special on it.

Chris JC said...

Jordan, is that why David "Variable" Koepp has written the new one?

I still like Stir of Echoes.

*SPOILER ALERT*
on tonight's episode of the Dharmalars, Ralph mentions how he thinks that Ben is going to get out of his situation, and it will be a holy shit moment if it comes true!

[ally] said...

is that part of the thing that's gonna blow us... away?

Stephanie said...

Jordan, there is a huge list of problems I have with Transformers. Start with the size of the robots compared to the vehicles they transform into. It just doesn't compute. Then there's the humor. It's for 5 year olds then Sam has a conversation with his mom about masterbation. Who do you want to entertain? Teens or 5 year olds? I couldn't stand Shia Labeouf's performance. I hate him now.

memphish said...

Frakking Dharmalar Spoilers! What's this world coming to?

PalmerEldritch said...

jordan, i thought George Lucas was completely off his rocker about that until i read another quote of his.

then it kind of made sense but was totally NOT what anyone would want to see. George said something to the effect of Indy in the 1930s does things that were big in the 1930s (pulp novel stuff) and he wanted Indy in the 1950s to do stuff that was big in the 1950s (what George originally suggested).

so if that was your logical rationale, then it makes sense.

but if you want people to actually watch your movie, then you abandon that idea and give them what they liked about the first three movies.

so, i can see where George was coming from but i agree with Steven and Harrison (and you).

Ralph- said...

i would love to watch the Indiana Jones Martian movie...in fact, i am pretty sure that there are martians in the new one..at least, that is a theory of mine.

My Ben thing is not the thing that will blow your butts out your nose, but next weeks finale predictions will.

anyone ever played Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis (aka one of the very best games ever)?

good god, that game was fantastic. and three different ways to play through it. good stuff!
