I am very excited!!! The previews are 'sweet ass' indeed. Thanks for the link Ralph.

Someone needs to invent a new video hosting site that I can access at work, dammit.

That one Lost Moment with Kate and Sawyer on the beach was pretty lame, because, well, um, duh...so much for the "cliffhanger". I guess we know what she does.

DAMMIT KATE, RUN!

Hmmm...

Observations...

Ralph, your Mii instructional video was brilliant actually. Well done sir.

So we get to see Jack shagging Bai Ling. Cindy (we are here to watch?). Desmond looking all Christ like? I'm truly hoping that this 17 episodes really has some cracking pace to it. Mo0re on that later.

I'm with Aimee on the New Year resolutions...I just make my resolutions at anytime of year...as we all should. I am really wanting to make a major commitment to the Lost Initiative though...regular updates, blogging etc.

Speaking of "Betrayal", I agree with Steph that there are times when BSG is the show I wish Lost was...really. Agreed also that there is less Baltar and No 6 in Season 2. That said, anyone disses Tricia, and they get to hear from me!!!

Mike Campbell said...

thats the promo i saw. Its pritty sweet but i don't know why I am not more excited then i am. Maybe i am too worried about finding a job. Damn future getting in the way of Lost.

my new years resolution is to get through the year without writing 06 in the date column. i fricken hate when i do that cause i don't catch it and someone at the bank thinks i am retarded. From now on its all 07 for me :)

Jimmy,

How do you get your 360 to stream to your TV via the PC? I managed to get hold of Vista last week, which is great for Media Center, etc, but it won't show my divx stuff - any ideas?

Sorry to everybody else, i know this isn't about Lost or SaS - i just think Jim might have the answer....

Stephanie said...

Mike, I'm not excited about Lost either. Maybe because it's been off for so fuckin long. Maybe because BSG is so good. I just don't care if those three get off that island or not. Maybe this is just a coping mechanism to get through the longest freakin hiatus ever. How do 24 fans do it?
Jimmy, did you have a nice lavender holiday? A couple of things bother me about BSG. Phonecords. I don't have phones with cords and I don't expect to see them in my futuristic scifi fantasy tv show. And lights in the helmets. Sure, it looks cool but you can't see well out of light into dark. Tigh is such an ass. I guess he hates hisself so much, he hates everyone. He's your typical drunk, I suppose. And the word "frak". It's getting over-used. Maybe it's because I watch 3 and 4 episodes at a time. New question for myself- who's hotter- Apollo, Helo, or Anders?

Anonymous said...

yeah, that last lost moment was a pretty dumb choice. Although it does put Benry's life in question.
damn, 5 weeks. i'd convinced myself we were at 4.
I agree, New Year's resolutions are the dumbingest. all hail recidivism. and the only way to quit anything (for me)is cold turkey, no easing into it.
Good to hear BSG eases up on the Baltar/No.6 stuff. i was listening to a comic book podcast i like (ifanboy.com) last night and got an earful of spoilers about BSG. I tried to tune them out, so i think i'll be okay.
Boomer is the hottenest.
Apparently "Frak" is from the original series. I swear another sci-fi show used the same or similar euphemism, and likewise used it to death, but i can't think of it off-hand.
i'm also trying to catch up on Carnivale. I'm through disc 1. I'm liking it too, but i've been properly warned that it disappoints in the end.
andrew.

Tim,

there is a way. Let me get home and I will try and find the links etc...I have them all there as I was working on that shit.

I'm with Steph re the hiatus. The more and more I think about the hiatus and the way it was done, the more I feel it was a bad move for the show. 6 eps then 17 weeks or so just doesn't keep the momentum going and breaks the flow somewhat. And now going to start at 10.00pm too. I also feel that Lost is bringing in way too many characters. Sure, its an ensemble piece but it's getting too crowded.

I want people to know that I still love my show beyond measure, but I can see why ratings have dropped, interest has cooled etc.

The "BSG who's hotter?" question. As a man who can look at another man and put an objective opinion about his attractiveness, I'm going to say in this order:
Helo
Apollo
Anders

Apollo very handsome but a little pretty boy.

Helo more of an "everyman" handsome, and rougher edged (which I think women prefer overall). Got some height too, which goes a long way usually (I've heard) :)

Anders. Yeah...good looking chap. But I know guys who look like him...he just doesn't seem that special.

Girls in my order of pref...

N0 6
Starbuck
President Rosyln
Athena
Lucy Lawless

Lost girls in order (Season III cont...)
Nikki
Kate
Bai Ling
Juliet

It took way too long to write this :/

Jimmy.

aimee is lost said...

I can't believe you ranked Nikki #1. That's just nasty, Jimmy. Even Claire is more attractive than her, squinchy face and all. As an objective hetero female, I have to say Bai Ling is kinda hot, so kudos for that selection.

aimee is lost said...

I just watched the sweet ass preview video - very cool. I'm guessing the rowboat thingie was used by Alex to get to Zoo Island from Otherville Island, and she shows up to lend a helping slingshot to Kate & Sawyer, and shows them the boat?

I don't think the season 3 schedule was as well-received as they anticipated. I doubt they'll do it again.

I'm excited about the return, because I love the show, and I have no control over when it airs. I'm just happy to have it back soon!

Jimmy said...

Aimee...
I was wondering how long it would take you to chew me out about Nikki :)

Minneapolis Ryan said...

Ralph: that MII video was cool, keep it up, and have happy holidays

I was also wondering if anyone like the BSG score. I have listened to almost all of it and really like it, though it’s no season 1 LOST score...

I was out in Seattle a few days ago jimmy, firkin rainy as usual.

Also herd that lost might be coming back earlier then expected, according to the JJ podcast, as day break was canceled… I wonder if they will be able to do it.

I am kinda wishing ABC would show the Part 1 of the Lost season now and then start the next part. I know I can watch them online, etc but it might help with ramping up what is to come. I miss all the clues and theories. The whole Ben thing isn't working for me this season. I miss the originals. I am hoping there is some pay off we get back to it! For all we know its all just a Bahamavention.

Kidding...just day dreaming I guess.

aimee is lost said...

Sorry Jimmy, I would've done it sooner, but my commute home is rather lengthy.

Jimmy said...

Ryan...

Seattle has had more rain and crazy weather than ever before actually. Not like us all to be pissed off by late December...it usually takes till mid February.

Yeah...the Nikki ranking was kind of deliberately inflammatory...but I stick to my picks.

I have listened very much to the BSG score, and to be honest I even considered doing a section for it. I'm quite a fan of the music...very bare. Occasionally they throw in this "highland" type of theme. I feel like I'm at the Scottish games, and aren't so sure if I like it (Pegasus finishing off the Cylon base ship, for example).

I think a reason BSG is satisfying me at present, is that shit actually does keep being answered. I am fully aware that Lost is designed to be a mystery...clues, confusion, more questions after one is answered etc... But BSG because of it's nature and pacing gets through a lot of material, and moves on at a real pace too.

Ralph- said...

wow. i leave for a second and the blog blows up.

1st- What is BSG? did i miss something?

2nd- Thanks for all the Mii support.

3rd- when did Bai Ling join the cast of LOST?

4th- jimmy, it goes like this

1. Juliet
2. Nikki
3. Sun
4. Kate
5. not claire
6. claire

5th- Mike, the reason you don't care and are not fired up, is because you dont want to "blow your load" this early in the game. pace yourself, you will have plenty of time to be axious about a new episode when there is only a week and a half to go. my recomendation: Twilight Princess!

6th- where the fuck is craig? i mean, not putting up a podcast, i can understand, but stop by and say anything please.

7th- HAPPY 2007 FUCKERS!

Ralph,

1. BSG = Battlestar Galactica. I don't watch it, but apparently, a lot of the Others around here do. If it's as good as people claim it is, I'll Tivo it...as soon as I get to buy a Tivo.

2. I'm going to watch your Mii video after typing this post.

3. Spoiler Alert! Bai Ling will be in 3x09, as Jack's lover/tattoo artist. Technically, she shouldn't qualify as a Lost hottie until she's been publicly broadcast, but Jimmy is a rebel, and he probably just didn't want to list Claire. Especially not twice like you did.

4. My hetero female opinion:

1- Kate (even though that article makes her seem like a twat, and hence, less attractive to me)
2- Sun
3- Shannon
4- Mrs. Squinchy-face
5- Anyone else but Nikki

5. I agree - We all sort of "blew our loads" when it came to the 3x01 premiere, as far as anticipation and expectations were concerned. So much tension, so little pay off (how much can you expect to get in one hour, after waiting several months?) Think happy thoughts.

6. Waiting for Craig to podcast or post on the blog is a lot like waiting for a new episode of Lost.
You know you're in for a looong wait, but that he/it will show up eventually. You feel a little bitter and abandoned after a long hiatus/disappearance before you finally realize you probably don't care as much as ABC wants you to. Regardless, you know you're still going to be excited when he/it finally shows up again.

Or it could simply be that the podfather has more important shit to do.

7. Happy double-oh-seven everyone!

casey_donahue said...

I am excited again for lost, I now alot of people are not excited and dont really care anymore, but once this whole operation on ben thing is over I think the show will start picking up again, its gunna be sick

also steph, I called a bunch of stores and found one with wii's coming in tomorrow, I dont know why I didnt think of calling in the first place...

aimee is lost said...

Alright, I finally watched the Mii video. That was awesome; I want a Wii now, just so I can make that awesome Sawyer. Why did you make Claire look so manly??

Stephanie said...

Bai Ling WAS attractive. And then she did that horrid reality singing show.
Jimmy, you have convinced me. Helo is The Man.
Carnavale is great. Would have been better if it was given a chance to wrap up.
ralph- my 8 year-old is completely inspired by the mii video. The video was clean, wasn't it? I didn't pay much attention.

Anonymous said...

1. Ralph - i didn't know what BSG was either - thought it was a food additive.
2. Jimmy, cheers for looking into that man.
3. Aimee, nice use of 'twat'.
4. Get the Beatles new 'Love' album. If you know most of the Beatles songs well, you'll weep with joy...

aimee is lost said...

Thanks Tim. I don't consider "twat" swearing, so that doesn't count.

Mike Campbell said...

Tim - The beatles album is fantastical!

I think Lost should just split it in two like Jericho and Heroes have done. Half now Half later nothing wrong with that.

24 is a bitch to wait for but new episodes every week are amazing.

Ralph be strong like me and hold out for BSG. I know we can make it!!!

I got a job!!! I am going to be a Substitute Teacher for my old school district. This works out good cause i am going back to school in the fall to get a teaching degree. But i won't be able to check the boards during the day :(

Mike Campbell said...

OH i forgot. Terry O'Quinn is in West Wing as a Uber General type guy. He has a lot of things on his coat. I checked IMDB he is going to be on for a few episodes. I knew i watched West Wing for a reason :)

aimee is lost said...

Congrats Mike on getting a job. You should take some self-defense classes prior to entering any public school though, or at least bring a bowstaff or something. Doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Mike Campbell said...

i'm more worried about seeing old teachers then the students. I hated a few of those people. I hope they don't remember me or have left :)

aimee is lost said...

Those children are more dangerous than the teachers, so don't worry. You're an adult now, so you can say whatever you want to those b-hole teachers. Unless of course, they wield power over you.

When do you start?

Anonymous said...

in my experience, grade school teachers have memories like steel traps. I'll run into one when i visit my hometown (once, maybe twice a year) and they'll rattle off a ton of embarassing stories.

college professors, on the other hand, wouldn't know you even if you were their personal assistant wiping their ass for them every day for 6 years.

i'm finally listening to the first MYOKMw/SAS episode (thanks kim) and i'm surprised by how focused on Lost it is. Also, Craig either needs to pay closer attention during episodes or get his hearing checked (i kid).

Finished Season 1 of BSG last night. THAT was how you do cliffhangers. I find lost's mysteries a lot more intriguing (mostly because, even if they're sci-fi, they're a little more 'real-world') but i agree that BSG handles its much more efficiently. The Lost writers could stand to learn a little about making individual episodes more self-sufficient. (see how this hiatus drives us to blasphemy!!)

andrew.

aimee is lost said...

I also listened to that first episode, not realizing it was their first one - I actually have heard it before.

I think maybe since it wasn't based on 2x01, I assumed I was arriving to MYOKOM w/SAStown late in the game. Turns out I'd been listening to it from the beginning all along.

Jimmy said...

The focus on Lost surprised me too. Good though, obviously.

Guess what? It's raining here!

aimee is lost said...

Okay Ralph, you just knocked Claire off my hot list.

Stephanie said...

Mike, I don't want to be discouraging BUT think carefully about this decision. Imagine you're in your mid-thirties and have been doing this for, say twelve years. The same job, decent pay, convenient hours, but no hope of advancement, no appreciation from the people you're helping. Oh wait, that's my job I'm talking about. God, I need to get back in school.

Ralph- said...

school schmool!

steph, you need to follow your dreams and that goes for the rest of you!

Mike Campbell said...

oh no steph are you an angry teacher? I don't know right now its what i want to do. plus subbing for a semester might smarten me up and i won't go back for a teaching degree :)

Stephanie said...

No, Mike I'm no teacher. Trying it before you buy it sounds like a good idea. And that "Do what you love" is a good idea, but I DID love what I did when I started. I guess I'm at that "I can't believe I actually have to do this for the rest of my life" stage. My goal at work every week- don't cuss anybody out.

casey_donahue said...

steph that sounds like my goal everyweek with my roommate at school, so far, only lost it on his crazy ass once in the first semester, i foresee more verbal lashings heading his way if he keeps saying ridiculous ignorant statements

Stephanie said...

Casey, I feel ya. It's hard enough to live with people you love.

Jimmy said...

This is why I live alone, folks :)

aimee is lost said...

Wesh, I'm a little worried about you. But this is Sawyer we're talking about, so who can blame you?

Ralph, if I followed MY dreams, I would be constantly chased by zombies, be in high school forever (and not be able to open my locker), and make out with Henry Gale in the snow. Oh wait, we're talking about jobs? Hmm, in that case, I wouldn't be living in Little Rock. Any other place would be like a dream.

Anonymous said...

I live with my missus, because she's nice looking, but i do have to put up with her calling me an idiot every other day.

Tim's hair update - i'm going for a Daniel Craig-Casino Royale look today - looks alright. I swear i'm not gay, maybe a little androgenous.

aimee is lost said...

I just saw some junk on Daniel Craig on the E! channel, which showed him having longer hair. I've come to realize that Daniel Craig is only attractive with the shorter haircut seen in Casino Royale. Unless he's without his shirt, which distracts you from his Zoolander face, the hairstyle doesn't really matter.

Anonymous said...

Did you understand anything about that film Wesh? Apart from the fact Michael Gambon is quite a good actor?

Ralph- said...

i wish i lived in a world of zombies. i have watched so many zombie movies to know how to survive...see you all at walmart.

aimee is lost said...

I just read a wonderful book called the Zombie Survival Guide (you can find it in the humor section of B&N). It's ridiculously thorough; I know exactly how to handle Z-day, should it ever arrive.

Ralph- said...

use weapons that do not need ammo or gas. chainsaws and gun are rendered usless when they dont have those. sharp cutting objects and blunt objects with long reach. Bats, axes, spears, ect. do not rely on gasoline powered vehicles. use a bicylce. they do not require gasoline to run and they will be able to weave through heavy traffic situations, which there will be. stay up high. zombies cannot climb. be sure to have plenty of dry goods and water on hand.

aimee is lost said...

Those are straight out of the book, so I assume that you either read it, or copied it from a website or something. However, you failed to mention the most crucial factor that bicycles, unlike motorcycles, are silent.

Anonymous said...

aimee if you liked that book you should check out History of the Zombie Invasion. Its also by Max Brooks and its about the Invasion that happened that we all missed. Its wicked funny.

First day of subbing went well. The last class i had they finished the work and we had a nice Lost chat.

Mike Campbell said...

That last post was me. I don't why it didn't say my name

aimee is lost said...

Way to spread the Lost propaganda Mike, I'm glad your first day went well!

I'm in the middle of reading Fast Food Nation right now, and a few others on my desk to read after it, but I'll have to check out Brooks' other books, because the Zombie Survival Guide was hilarious.

I was missing Lost last week, and the fact that I haven't had any Lost books to read since To Kill A Mockingbird. I had a dream the other night that I was watching a new episode of Lost, and the Henry Miller book Tropic of Cancer appeared on the screen, and I was all excited. But then I woke up, and was bummed.

Anonymous said...

ben read the book, then lent it to my friend jeff. i think i may have picked up a conversation between the two of them. regardless, i have spent hours and hours over the course of severeal years thinking about the precautions that i need to take when the dead rise from the grave.

i had come up with a story about Zombies attacking a shopping mall called "Fucking A". This title was then changed to "The Maul of America". i did not know how huge Dawn of the Dead was at the time (1998) and i knew that George Romero beat me to the punch...so i changed the story so that it would take place, not in a mall, but in an office park. and i got rid of the zombies and created a new type of creature, hense...."Casualty Friday"

Ralph- said...

That last post was me. I don't why it didn't say that i was a whore

aimee is lost said...

So originally, CF was supposed to be ZOMBIES? Dammit, Ralph, the real thingies were cool, but the world can never have too many Z movies!

Get started on CF II, and make sure that the undead are involved!

Ralph- said...

i am tired of zombies. it gets to the point where you dont even have to come up with a reason for zombies to be there...then you just have lazy writing. shoot, even shaun of the dead didnt have to explain zombies, just to show how far zombie movies have come. zombies are lame. i am sure that there are other things out there that are just as creepy.

Stephanie said...

Dreams- I have none, neither literally or figuratively.
Zombies- Not my thing, but Shaun of the Dead has to be one of my favorites.

Anonymous said...

i live in Pittsburgh, PA, zombie capitol of the world.
i <3 zombies.
andrew.

aimee is lost said...

Why is Pittsburg the zombie capital of the world?

Anonymous said...

Pittsburgh is where George Romero and tom Savini (make-up artist) live and it's where all of the Living Dead movies are set (and most were filmed). On the few occassions that i go to the mall, i go to Monroeville mall which is where (the original)Dawn Of The Dead was filmed.

i totally would have been a zombie in Land Of The Dead, but Romero moved the production to Canada (Torronto i think) because the city of Pittsburgh was being obtuse about costs. Land Of The Dead is still supposed to be set in Pittsburgh though.

here's a link to a zombie drawing i did: Clickie Here

Aren't you glad you brought up Zombies!
