Holy crap! Evil Sayid?

PalmerEldritch said...

too bad that claire warned kate. we could have switched out rousseau-hair cut for Alterna-Kate. ga-row!

if Dogen and Creepyguy died in the magic pool of naughty touches, will they come back to life?

i noticed that Dogen wasnt expecting Sayid to straight up murder him. he should have been afraid of sayid but i guess you could say there is no fear in this dogen.

the kung fu battle was random but pretty badass.

nice to see The Blob get killed again. and this time no freighter blew up.

are Jin and Sawyer just hanging out with Squirrel Baby back at Claire's teepee?

those pesky lost writers pulled a fast one cuz i was convinced it would be sun and jin tonight. no wonder they could only show us two seconds of footage or whatever.

creepy catch a falling star song at the end.

Locke is the man.

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah! Sayid sure liked banging Shannon if he's going to murder all those dudes for her.

aimee is lost said...

Soooo loved the fact that they threw us for a loop on the episode title. I'm sure the spoiler people already knew it was Sayid-centric, but that was a fun surprise.

Nadia :)

Evil Sayid :(

Keamy dies again :)

Kate didn't get shanked :(

Claire still batshit crazy :)

Dogen gets too wet :(

F'ing cute neighbor guy got last minute tickets to a Thunders game, so I didn't get my couch... Why is basketball always messing with my universe? ABC used to pre-empt Lost with b-ball and now it's cock-blocking. Or whatever the female equivalent of that is.

Free dinner & a lapdance for anyone with a pickup truck that can lift half a couch!

PalmerEldritch said...

any luck making out with that dude, aimee?

so, alterna-sayid set nadia up with the brother that refused to choke the chicken?

memphish said...

Really, really enjoyed that episode. Definitely my favorite episode of the season.

I feel like now the side flashes represent the deal Sayid just made with Flocke. They get their magic box-esque what their heart desires, but like in all Aladdin's Lamp scenarios, they never manage to get the wish quite right, so Locke gets Helen and his dad but he's still not the hunter; Sayid gets Nadia safe, but not with him; Jack gets to be a good dad, but not have a good dad; Kate gets to help someone else have taco nights but not herself (still don't get the Kate-flash).

Good God I hope Dogen and Lennon are dead. Take all that crap back Palmer.

There was Sayid bad-assery in both universes. Keamy got to die straight up and I loved that Omar was with him too. I don't get why Jin was there, but that's ok. Keamy seems like too small-time a punk to deal with Paik, but hey, there's no accounting for taste.

Catch a Falling Star is officially the creepiest possible lullaby ever.

PalmerEldritch said...

ouch. sorry about the vagina-block.

aimee is lost said...

You forget Omar & Keamy worked for Widmore's [freighter]; so my theory that Jin was delivering the Rolex to Charles (in the previous thread) still holds water.

Vagina-block just doesn't sound as classy as cock-block, Palmer. But if Lost has taught me anything, it's patience. Especially when f'ing cute neighbor guy looks like a cross between Sawyer and the Brawny paper towel dude.

John V. Holder III said...

Cock-block.......

Muff-stuff?

PalmerEldritch said...

it really should rhyme, eh?

*graphic content*
cunt punt?

PalmerEldritch said...

and, yes, i'm ashamed of myself.

Mr.JamesFord said...

Why didnt Dogen just kill evil Sayid! Is Sayid the new Jack because he got me so pissed?!?!

John V. Holder III said...

Twat-swat? Not a fan. Clam-jam? Gross.

aimee is lost said...

Lol, I think I just peed a little Palmer. Good thing I have these Brawny paper towels.

PalmerEldritch said...

i guess maybe Dogen felt bad about killing people. but less bad about arranging people's deaths.

also, he really liked baseball.

aimee is lost said...

I didn't really understand that whole tangent into baseball & his son, and what it had to do with him not killing Sayid when he had the chance.

Mr.JamesFord said...

Team Flocke is fucking huge! I can almost see the epic team Jacob vs team Flocke battle!

PalmerEldritch said...

maybe he knew what Smokey must have offered Sayid and couldnt blame him for taking up the offer? and his story served as a warning that there'd be a catch?

maybe it was just exposition before killing him off?

John V. Holder III said...

Holli...I like the idea that Smokey is making the flash-sidewayseses happen. I got that feeling too. He says something like "what if you could see her again" or something. Like he could make it happen. So yeah, I'm on board, I just have to wrap my mind around the fact that I thought the bomb/flash thing made the alta-verse happen.

There are so many things to talk about with this episode. One thing...Sayid actually DID die, and it was for two-hours. Didn't think the gap was that big. (i set em up...)

PalmerEldritch said...

twss!!!

so, It's a Wonderful LOST is going to be weighed by our heroes against their reality and they'll choose whether to accept the "new" reality and side with Smokington or whether to reject it and side with Jacob and keep "our" reality?

John V. Holder III said...

Palmer, yeah I thought he was basically saying that he understood why Sayid would take Smokey's deal.

Also, do you think that if Sayid would have stabbed Smokey BEFORE Smokey said "hello sayid," that the stabbing would have killed him? Dogen said if he talks to you its too late...I took it to mean any words spoken by Smokey would put you under his "spell."

memphish said...

I don't think it would have worked if Sayid had stabbed him before he spoke. Jacob spoke to Ben after all. I think Sayid wasn't qualified to execute the loophole that would kill MIB. I think Jacob thinks Jack needs to do it, but I think Hurley does.

Holli

Morgan said...

Ugh! I'm still not quite over "clam-jam."

I agree with Holder and Holli...I like the idea on MIB/Smokey creating the sideways timeline.

I love LOST.

Kelly Jo said...

Am I the only one who thought Sayid was going to have to kill Nadia instead of John?

John V. Holder III said...

Yeah, I never thought it wasn't John, but that would have been some good drama.

Re: Jin...So the money was for Keamy. Customs took it. Keamy was pissed and kidnapped/beat him?

aimee is lost said...

Aimee's alt-universe

aimee is lost said...

Why would Jin be bringing money to Keamy for Sayid's brother?

Kelly Jo said...

Aimee can we share alt-universes?

aimee is lost said...

I guess if I wasn't willing to share my alt-destiny, I wouldn't deserve my alt-destiny. But you'll have to get your own mcdreamy neighbor.

aimee is lost said...

You know the episode was f'ing good when I'm staying up late to rant about it. I usually stay away from the blogspot, because I usually save my comments for TLI recording.

aimee is lost said...

I was happy to see Kim get a shout-out for T-dot tonight.

JoeSC said...

That episode threw me for a loop being Sayid-centric yet still exceeded every expectation!

Claire and Sayid had awesome performances tonight. Claire in the temple hole was probably her best work on the show. Sayid really made you feel his slow descent into darkness over the course of the episode.

I'm glad Smokey didn't get Kate. Not only did Claire find out that Kate did take Aaron, but Kate told Claire herself! Let the countdown to Kate's beatdown begin!

I think Dogen and Lennon are dead. In all the times we've seen Sayid kill someone on this show, I don't think he ever looked so cold and creepy.

...and after Sayid dropped the knife, I figured he wasn't going to kill Dogen. His dive into the hot tub was a bit surprising.

I thought the kung-fu battle was kinda cool but seemed to go on a big long (not that I'm complaining). As cool as the scene was, I still think the frontrunner for the Chuck Norris Achievement award is Dogen's Kung-Fu Heimlich on Jack.

Do you think Vincent will join Team Jacob or Team Flocke?

Jin and Sawyer are kicking back whiskey in New Otherton.

Do you think Jack's still staring at the Ocean?

Aimee - Calm thy loins!

Keamy getting whacked again was just priceless! Plus, I think my long-held theory that Jin was delivering the watch to Widmore's company may be coming true.

Taco-Blocko?

Holli - I'm still really interested in what these rules are... We know that Jacob and MIB can't kill each other. We know that Ben and Widmore can't kill each other. I'm not sure if Dogen and Sayid fall into this category, but these rules make no fucking sense (yet)!

JoeSC said...

I like LOST.

aimee is lost said...

Vincent led Hurley to the Dharma Van that ultimately led Hurley to being a hero. So Vincent is definitely on team Jacob.

aimee is lost said...

So are Sawyer & Jin babysitting Skeletor? Why wouldn't they go with them?

John V. Holder III said...

Observation time. It's interesting that the first two candidates we've seen Smokey recruit have been the two people on the island who have been known to see through people's bullshit and lies.

Holy shit. Taco-blocko.

My Jin/Keamy theory was just me trying to connect the Customs scene to Jin being held prisoner by Keamy.

JoeSC said...

Someone had to watch Skele-baby, so I guess Jin and Sawyer drew nanny duties.

...either that or Jin still can't walk and Sawyer just refused to go.

I'm really interested to find out how this all plays out for Ben. He didn't go with Flocke and he didn't go will Illana, Frank and Sun. Does he just hang out by the hot tub and pout? Michael Emerson is the king of shocked looks. His face after seeing what Sayid did to Dogan and Lennon was just awesome! I thought he was gonna mess himself.

aimee is lost said...

I don't think I've ever seen Ben so authentically frightened. Not even when Keamy killed Alex. Brilliant Emerson.

JoeSC said...

...and where's Andrew???

Cindy got some serious screen time (with Zach and Emma), but now she's on Team Flocke.

Does that taint her legacy?

aimee is lost said...

I don't think she had much of a legacy to begin with. Or a taint.

JoeSC said...

Now that I think about it, Ben is the only one who's still seems really surprised when crazy shit happens on this island.

Everyone else has pretty much accepted it as given, but Ben still seems genuinely shocked when stuff happens (although Ben has been witness to almost all of the crazy shit).

t-dot kim said...

....I like LOST

See you in Toronto, Sayid.

WTF did I just watch. I came out of this episode more confused than when I went it.

I thought it was kind of a slow episode, but when the action got going--I couldn't look away. Claire is officially the creepiest woman on that show. Why is Kate always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sayid!!!! BEST 15 mins of Sayid I've seen on LOST. What happened in the moment he went from good to evil...holy smokes.

I'm with KJ, I thought Sayid was going to have to kill Nadia--but then remembered Flocke can't change "figures" anymore. I also thought that maybe we'd see Miles in the kitchen instead of Jin. That was seriously WTF.

So...the ppl that are following Flocke are brainwashed--or are they following him for realzz?

OMG...

....I. Like. LOST!

t-dot kim said...

PS....C*nt P*ck, I'm still laughing at that one

aimee is lost said...

I think it was c*nt p*nt, but bold had me red-faced. Thunders won, so FCNG is happy, and flirtexting, so my loins are under control again.

t-dot kim said...

Yes, that's what I meant Aimee :P

I need to watch that episode again, I was actually starting to get mad 30 mins in--but the 2nd half was CRAMAZING

JoeSC said...

Back to Ben, he really hasn't had much screen time yet this season. He HAS to have an -centric episode coming soon. It just feels like they've been underutilizing him for a reason.

aimee is lost said...

Next week's title pretty much gives it away...

John V. Holder III said...

I don't know what you're talkin about. I was in it the whole time. Don't you care about Sayid? I like the flash sideways stuff.

I was kinda scared that Sayid was gonna knife Ben there at the end, I gotta say.

And I know a lot of you don't like Kate, but I thought she was great in this episode. I thought it was funny the way she put her hand over her heart and told Claire "I've been raising him" like Claire was gonna be thrilled haha. And her confused look at the end of the ep was great. I think she'll be running soon.

JoeSC said...

Really? I haven't looked yet. I may have to make my way over to Lostpedia shortly.

aimee is lost said...

Kate? Run? Nahhh.

John V. Holder III said...

Yeah, it was a bold prediction.

aimee is lost said...

I have no idea if the spoiler-free nazis bleep out the part on TLI where we just say the ep title. But because I'm half evil, I'll just say it rhymes with "foctor minus."

aimee is lost said...

and what in the blue hell is CRAMAZING a portmanteau of. or is it, mercifully, not a portmanteau at all?

i believe andrew. is waiting at the shore of the mainland for cindy's triumphant (and sexy?) return.

dont think our Jin was delivering our watch to our Keamy. just in the alternaverse but who the heck knows.

"fuck. didnt get my watch. better give up this local thuggery and become a mercenary. and hell if i'm not taking Omar with me!"

V-Jay De-layed.

But seriously how much baddasery was that. Sayid and Dogan fight was amazing. And Team Flocke is the creepiest of creepos.
Was anyone else shocked that the "sundown" was actually in this episode? After Sayid delivered his announcement I just assumed that we would be stretching the rest of that day for the next 6-9 episodes.

John V. Holder III said...

I love when Lost does slow-motion. It's always done so fucking well.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Love evil Sayid twist. Thought he was a good man? Hell no

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Dogen can't kill any candidates. Remember what he said to Hurley in Japanese "you're lucky ur being protected or else I would cut off your head."

Hope I never see Lennon again

John V. Holder III said...

I don't think he knew Sayid was a candidate. He didn't seem to know that Hurley was one.

And anyone who was once believing that MIB was the good guy cannot argue that now in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

Dogen couldn't kill Sayid because Sayid is a candidate. That is why Dogen tried to get Jack and Locke to kill Sayid.

Epiphany:
The him of you can't kill him = Dogen.

I am really interested in seeing WTF the team Jokes, I mean Jacob, people are going to do at this point.

I don't understand why people think Sayid turned evil. What would you do if some dude tried to kill you two times?

I thought Sayid was an idiot for even stabbing Locke. Why would you blindly trust some dude who tried to kill you and then banished you?

I would've just told Locke that this ponytailed samurai sent me to kill him and teamed with Locke from there rather than have to be given a chance to redeem myself.

The slaughter of the Others that didn't leave the Temple really reminded me of the purge, especially when Claire, Sayid, and Kate were leaving to join Locke.

Re off island:
I am with most people who think Keamy was working for Paik. I think Paik found out that Jin was trying to escape to LA, no pun intended, and had Keamy bring him in.

Since Charles Widmore wanted everyone on the island dead, why would Locke/smokey help Ben and kill the frieghter people if he too wanted everyone on the island dead?

Also, Locke's had plenty of chances to kill many people and he hasn't. This is only one reason why I don't believe the BS the Others are telling the 815ers about Locke.

Jordan said...

Just watched it. And just read this entire thread. Got to be one of the odder post-ep discussions. Haha. You guys have really been all over the place.

Crazy episode. Good ol' LOST, for ya.

I've never been that big of a Sayid fan. So I don't care if he's evil or not. Whatever is fine with me. I just hope we get some better explanation for his motives for so drastically flipping the switch. Dude goes from "I'm a good man!" to slaughtering dudes left and right, and then smiling as he walks on dead bodies. It can't simply be that he wants to be with Shannon or Nadia again. That would be dumb. There's got to be something to Dogan's whole "he's infected" thing going on.

The first 10 minutes of the Sayid-Karate Samurai fight was fun. But it went on just a tad too long. I went from excited to laughing midway through.

Is it just me, or did Keamy seem to have a sorta NY accent that he didn't have before? I was distracted by it the whole time as it seemed out of place. Maybe in the alt-verse he grew up in a different part of the country?

Another thing I'm curious about is if I was the only one who found this so hilarious. When Ilana and company show up to save the day in the end of the ep. First of all, something about it just seemed very kinda goofy. These characters just pop out of nowhere, each getting there little "hey guys, it's me" line. The funniest of which was Ben. When they enter the room and approach Miles, you see Ilana and Frank, with Sun in the background. Ilana speaks to Miles, then out of absolutely nowhere the camera cuts to Ben who we hadn't seen yet who goes, "I'll go get Sayid!" A combination of the out of nowhereness and the way Ben said it had me rolling and replaying it. It felt like those movie montages they used to do at awards shows where they'd splice in the host. Go back and rewatch it. You'll see exactly what I mean.

So it looks like the Losties are breaking off into Team-Smokey & Anti-Smokey factions. Feels like old WWF where characters would group up into different teams, with surprise heel or face turns along the way. Right now we have heel Flocke, Sayid, and Claire. Along with an undercover Kate. Not to mention that traitorous Cindy and those evil kids. Can't wait til Sawyer does a surprise run in and hits Sayid over the head with a steel chair wrapped in barbed wire to save Jack. Or maybe he'll pretend to help Jack, but sucker punch him, taking off his shirt to reveal he's wearing a NWO shirt underneath. That, and the undercard match bikini mudwrestling match between Kate and Claire.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

I see what you're saying Holder about Hurley and Dogen. But when I rewatched that scene with Jacob telling Hurley what to say it didnt seem like Dogen was surprised that Hurley was a candidate, instead it seemed like Dogen was surprised that Hurley KNEW he was a candidate. Could be wrong

mb said...

:)))). This thread has been f-ing hilarious

I think Taco Blocko wins the thread for me.

"Procter mine ass" is a close second. Have to keep breathing - much laughter :)))

I am still trying to keep my mind open to the idea that MiB isn't really evil and that somehow spooky-ass team Flocke is going to turn out to be righteous in whatever their trying to do...but issa not lookin good to-a meee. Is he just trying to leave? Or does he really want to kill everything on the island? Does he want the island not to exist? Maybe HE sinks the island.

Where's alterna Sun? hopefully just hangin back @ the hotel.

I've been assuming of course that Flocke is lying to Claire about Aaron being @the Temple w/the others, so when is Claire going to be like "alright dude - where is he?"

Eggs overeasy w/toast - $6
Non stick crockery - $50
Turning Keamy into a backpedalng f**kwad before giving his chest a little ventilation by bullet-wound...

Beyond Priceless

I wonder if anyone else will be coming after Sayid now?

What's in Illana's secret Temple clubhouse? She's gonna need another pair of those leg-high leather boots to kick Sayid's ass with again (at some point).

Ah Lost - you beguile me :)

andrew. said...

- wow, the blogspot blewed-up. good to see everyone excited about the episode.

- the MYOKMwSaS commuity has ruined me. during the fight scene all i could think about was who was winning the Chuck Norris achievement award. i agree that the Dogen kneck-chop-heimlich is still in the lead, but i thought Sayid using the torture machine as a vault-horse was fun.

- during his story about his kid, i thought the point Dogen was getting to was that even good people fuck up and they struggle their entire lives to make ammends, but then it did seem to be about the monkey's paw nature of making a deal with Jacob/Smokey

- It was already an awesome episode, and then Cindy got some noteable screen time. i think being evil is going suit her well.

- between the crooked smiles w/ vacant stares from Claire & Sayid to all of the Others who fled the temple ending up on team smokey, there definitely seems to be a kind of posession going on. I'm pretty sure Sawyer will be under the spell, and we'll probably get a noble i'm-struggling-against-my-programming-to-save-you-Kate scene, but i'll be interested to see if Jin is evil since he never pledged his allegiance & was sort of playing along to avoid an axe-to-stomach situation.

- Cookie-hookie? Clit-inhibit? taco-blocko is definitely the best.

- don't want to spoil anyone, but the next-on-Lost was pretty explicit about what was going to go down. i hope they're pulling a fast one.

- LOST!

Jordan - I agree the A-team of Ilana showing up was random and somewhat out of place. I'm just so happy to have some theory to explain the existence of the side flashes that I'm willing to overlook that. And why did Kate come back to the Temple? Did she see Claire there before? I think not. Once again Kate acts totally randomly.

scrdmnkydst said...

Noooo... It's not for next week's episode.

I caved and read the article, since the title of the piece pretty much gave it away. Anyways, it sounds like it doesn't come into play until the last quarter of the season, so maybe i'll forget about it by then.

Palmer, just be careful. This was one of the main headlines of the entertainment news website that I saw so there was no avoiding it. Just be careful where you tread.

aimee is lost said...

Wherever Hurley goes, I follow. Team Jacob all the way, fo sho.

Good probability that Flocke winning results in the sinking island/alt-universe, which I guess is the equivalent of the reset that Juliet hinted at.

Sayid is still the hottest male character for me right now, even though he's evil. We always like the bad boys, and right now I can't get past Sawyer's shit-stained drawers.
