We apologize for those douches at Libsyn who have yet to fix TLI's feed...it will be up soon - but probably too late.

F'ing Libsyn. Sorry guys. Kyle's phone call alone is worth waiting for...if you speak Spanish, that is.

Thorley Winston said...

Not a problem Aimee, I appreciate the great job that you and Kim do on the podcast and if it takes a couple or even a few extra days to hear the podcast, I’m happy to wait while libsyn sorts out its technical problems.

HAPPY LOSTUESDAY!

Wow - libsyn is seriously screwing up!

What's for LosTuesday dinner?

libsyn?

more like libcunt.

Happiness!

What's for dinner? Well...
I need to cook two meals. One for today and one for tomorrow. So we might have this or pork chops and cabbage baked in apple juice. Probably the pork chops will warm up easier so we will have the taco bake tonight. Does anyone else have this much drama with their meals?

"Does anyone else have this much drama with their meals?"

Every week (I'm not kidding)

It's Downloading!!

YAY! TLI fix just on time! :)
Enjoy your lostuesday! Let's match or maybe even top Ab Aeterno! :)

PalmerEldritch said...

yaaaaaaaaaay!

listening to the melodious voices of TLI. good stuff!

Stephanie said...

I consider myself a "big picture" fan. Ab Aeterno was, like TLI said, a great episode of tv. On the other hand I can see some fans might be left unsatisfied with nothing new happening. I can see both sides. I want to be completely satisfied come May 23rd.

Lost day! Yay!

Listening to the podcast, bout halfway through. Great stuff as usual ladies. :)

Call me team Kim on this one. Seem to be siding with her on just about every difference of opinion she's had with Aimee so far. Especially the part about not caring about Lostmances where one of the lusting couple is somebody we aren't connected to as an audience member. Penny, Nadia, Eeesss-abelle. Yeah, yeah. It's nice and all. Yay for Desmond, Sayid, and Richardos. But that's it. Unless you are a hopeless romantic like Aimee, and will cry at anything. It's not going to do it for me. Was a bit disappointed that Kim backed down and agreed when Aim called her a hypocrite and said that these romances are no different from Jin and Sun. What?! There are totally different! Both Jin and Sun are central cast members. And both have been on the show from episode 1. Of course their relationship is different and more substantial and meaningful than ones we are told about over the course of one or two flashbacks. And I'm not even that big a Jin and Sun fan! I'm sure Kim just didn't want to dare go toe to toe with Aimee in a topic of which she is so passionate. But dude, when you're right on something, don't admit you're not. It was like Kimberly was speaking for me in this case. Like I was rooting for one of my sports teams. And she simply rolled over and waived the white flag. :(

Also totally side with TDot on which segment of fans are the "big picture" people. The people with answer checklists and who want to see everything they've had previously hinted at played out for them aren't big picture people. They are the minutiae crew. To me, the big picture crowd are those who aren't bothered with these details or who have checklists of things that must be explained ("How did the statue fall over? How did Montand lose his arm? I know characters have hinted at these things. But I need concrete evidence and need to see it!). If you are big picture in how you approach the show, you don't need every silly detail spelled out for you. Especially stuff that is not integral to the overarching main story. Big picture means you are mainly concerned with the core of the story and the main characters that matter. Aimee was correct that it's the non-big picture people who freak out over "filler episodes" and the show not being amazing at every step of the way. But those are many of the same people who get a big kick out of seeing an Alpert episode simply because they got to tick a box off their list.

I thought the ep last week was ok. Not bad by any means. I just really don't get all the "amazing" comments that I've seen attached to it the past week since. It was 40% steamy gushy telenovela, 40% Alpert stuck in chains, and a little smokey/jacob tacked on. Decent hour of television, sure. But incredible by Lost standards? Really? My opinion is that this far in the game, there's a group of fans who love simply seeing things that they've never seen before. And that in itself is enough reason for them to bust a nut over that episode. The moment a lot of people found out it was going to be an Alpert ep, they'd already made up their minds about how epic it was going to be. "The Alpert ep we've all been waiting for = greatness." As simple as that.

All that said, new ep tonight! Yippee!

Stephanie said...

Hmm. Am I a Big Picture Fan or am a part of the Minutiae Crew? That, I will have to ponder. Can I be both?

Stephanie said...

Jordan, if second season was let's see how much shit we can pile on Jessie, this season is let's see how much shit we can pile on Walt.

Jordan said...

Season 1 was pile on Walt, wasn't it? But yeah, he's not having a nice go of things right now.

How chilling was that shower scene?! Yikes!!! And how great was the cousins using the Ouija board to get the old man with the bell to give up the info? And what about Bob Odenkirk so good as the slimey lawyer Saul Goodman (get it? "s'all good man") taking pleasure in blackmailing Jesse's parents. Simply awesome. Patented BB.

Seriously folks. If you're not watching Breaking Bad, something is wrong with you. Steph tried very hard to resist it at first. She very badly wanted to dislike it. But there is just no denying something when it's really good. I'm telling y'all for the 147th time. There's only been 22 ep's so far. You can catch up pretty quick. Trust me on this one. It's the most compelling show on television at the moment. And if you aren't watching it. You're missing out big time.

Stephanie said...

I was squirming in my seat during the shower scene. Those twins are chilling. So freakin good.

Hit my refresh and had to scroll for days. I knew there must be a Jordan manifesto. :-)

I'm saving TLI for making dinner time. We're having small filets, roasted potatoes and green beans. In part it's a reward for the Kiddo who has a soccer game and is also having to take standardized tests this week. BTW, I hate going to soccer games. I can't believe I didn't bring my persuasive powers to bear to talk him out of signing up for it, but it's good exercise. Yeah, that's what I'll keep telling myself as I die of boredom in the bleachers.

Back after the new episode.

Finished TLI. Good stuff. I applaud you two for continuing the bring the enthusiasm 6 seasons in. I'm not sure I'd be able to keep it up that long. :P

I think Aimee needs to apologize to Andrew for attributing Helihy's DILF comment to him. Laughed out loud when I heard that.

Holli, sorry for causing the long scroll. I prob should try limiting myself to one or two sentences. Pretty certain most skip past anyway.

Holli - Couldn't you just listen to podcasts or music while watching your kid play football?

Jordan - I normally skip past your long ass posts, but then go back to read them after. I find them insightful :D

Jordan said...

Hell yeah they're insightful. Dur.

So who here is still watching V? I watched all the ep's back years ago when it was first on. But I'm not so sure I want to bother. I've recently decided to ditch the soon to be canceled FlashForward. Just a waste of time at this point. And I'm not sure about V. I'll prob watch it tonight and see from there. Like FF, the show has changed show runners. Which is a cause for foolish optimism. But more so cause for disjointed nonsense. What say y'all?

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, FlushForward is pretty awful. V isn't great yet but Elizabeth Mitchell is great and Joel Gretsch is the man. so, i'll keep watching for now. but, damn, that kid is annoying.

oh. Jin and Sun romance? meh. he was a dick and she's a cheater. Des and Penny was good stuff. really dug that. Ricardo and Dizzy Izzy? eh. pretty good for a one episode romance. kate and anyone? meh. unless it's kate and juliet in the dharma whipped topping.

Jordan said...

Totally agree, P. The romances don't do it for me either. And I'm not exactly the anti-Aimee that Kim is. I'm not immune to tearing up from a tv show or movie. Just that these romance novel-esque dramas don't touch me that way.

Just picking on you Jordan, cause I know you can man up and take it.

Can't take the podcast to the game because I have to entertain the grandparents and interact with the other parents while I'm there. Got fake a good game in other words.

As for V and FF. I actually enjoyed the 2 hour return of FF, but then last week's episode was back to the crappy stuff, so I'm out. I'll record V, but won't watch it until later. I liked it better than FF first go around, but I have to admit it was an appreciation of who the actors are more than the actual story being told.

Off to listen to TLI and cook dinner.

Ab Aeterno:

Liked it on first viewing, thought about it and started finding it a bit disappointing, watched it again with friends this evening and enjoyed it again. I think that without the weight of expectation it was just a nice character piece.

Happy LOSTuesday everyone!

I'm totally on the side of the big-picture folks. As long as they tell a good story over these last few episodes, I will be more than satisfied.

RE: Breaking Bad - I too avoided it for the first two seasons, but I forced myself to watch both seasons during the week that AMC replayed them and I was totally sucked in. Best show on TV right now, bar none!

As far as FF and V. I expect FF to be cancelled after this season, so I'm willing to ride out the last couple episodes and not complain to much. I definitely enjoyed V much, much more, but I'm not totally on board yet. The first few episodes were interesting enough, but I think this is a show that could easily lose me if they don't keep the characters interesting.

Homemade shrimp and andoullie jambalaya for LOSTuesday dinner! I haven't heard a single thing about tonight's episode (except the title) and I couldn't be happier.

Plus, I already rewatched last weeks episode so that gives me enough time to listen to TLI before LOST comes on. This is shaping up to be a great night!

So glad Libsyn got it together before we had to take up arms against them.

For the record Kim isn't a racist, she just hates what she doesn't understand...
and that just happens to be people with great math skills and less than perfect driving records.
Wait... What?

mb said...

Wonder if "The Package" is what's in the room on the sub. Or the $$ customs confiscated. Or maybe it's just Jin's junk. He's got super-jizz right? So that deserves to be honored with an ep. title I think.

So FF sucked last week? Haven't watched yet. I had given up on it and then watched the clip show and the two hr. return and also was back in. Now that it's dying - I guess I'm done.

memphish said...

The problem with last week's FF was it focused on people who I don't give a crap about and who don't seem to relate to the overall story plus I still think Joseph Fiennes is the worst actor in history. I'll probably record it again this week for the Hubby, but when I get a Survivor, FF, Community, Parks and Rec conflict then FF gets the boot unless I'm given a terribly important reason to do anything else.

Happy LOSTuesday everyone!

I'm definitely on the big-picture side of the argument. As long as they tell a great story these last couple of weeks, I'll be more than satisfied.

RE: Breaking Bad - I also avoided it for the first 2 seasons, but I watched all of them during AMCs marathon a couple of weeks ago and I was totally sucked in. Best show on TV, bar none!

As for FF and V, I've slightly enjoyed the two FF episodes post-hiatus, but I'm fully expecting it to be cancelled after this year, so I'll ride out the last couple of episodes with no complaints. I've enjoyed V much, much more and am excited for it to return. I'm not totally on board with it yet, so they could lose me easily if they don't keep the characters interesting.

Homemade shrimp and andoullie jambalaya for LOSTuesday dinner! I haven't seen anything about tonight's episode except the title and I couldn't be more excited!

Plus, I already rewatched last week's episode, so that gives me enough time to finish TLI before the new one. It's shaping up to be a great night!

No matter what I do, my DVR will not stop recording FlashForward.
I enjoy V. Maybe it's the familiar cast. Don't know.

So weird. I read Holli's "manifesto" right when Beckett said "manifesto" on Castle. What are the odds?

memphish said...

Word of warning. I had another Hoppening occur last night. I tripped on the brick steps outside my bedroom and scraped up my ankle. I was very lucky not to twist it or land on something else, but it's scraped pretty good and hurts pretty bad. Off to self-medicate. 15 minutes until LOST.
