i've been to hadrian's wall!! it's entirely unremarkable. sorry, hadrian. but after all these years, it kind of sucks.
mb, i'll try watching the second half of the Jekyll pilot tonight. it was real disappointing going from really great Moffat TV to something much more Russell T. Davies-esque in the next scene. just needed really crappy dance music and it would have been classic RTD Who.
i like the actor though. i wouldn't be heartbroken if he was the next Doctor.
I thought I was dry, Clif has me beat. He's funny in a dry way. Why 205, mb? It's my area code. Ally, your myspace is spamming my myspace. Elias, yours looks questionable as well.
I'm a huuuge Lost fan. But I have no problem admitting that for most of the season I was enjoying Heroes more. The only thing that has changed perception is how both shows ended. To me, Heroes was better on the whole for the season than Lost. But Lost ended with a band where as Heroes ended with a whimper. I guess fans are more forgiving if you are mediocre and end strong than if you are great and end lame. Either that or you guys are just biased towards Lost.
I haven't watched Heroes yet, but I do find it hard to see how one can say that (most) of the last 16 episodes of Lost Season 3 were mediocre. Totally respect your opinion, but in MY opinion, those were 16 of the most enjoyable hours of TV I have ever watched.
Mexican Karl, I don't remember Lost ending this season with a Band?
Seriously though, at the end of the day this is a Lost board (originally) so there are many biased here, yes.
But...there has also been a great deal of criticism over the last 3 seasons...we aren't shy of it, we rip the show on our podcasts when need be and at the end of the day I feel it's a fairly discerning lot.
Heroes, wether you liked the 1st season or not certainly made it's mark this year, and above all it was fresh. Lost had a HUGE 1st season, and an equal amount of hype and expectation for it's next season, which many believed it would never live up to. The real test for Heros will be Season 2. Will it build on it's characters, plot, mythiology...or will they get too self conscious. It already seems to me that they are dragging in too many new characters (think Lost Season 2).
Just my thoughts.
Been away for a while...was reading the 1st 50 or so posts...this board is in danger of becoming "Savage Love"...
I think that Lost and Heroes are the exact same thing. They both started off hot, got a little goofy after some success. Hopefully Heroes sees the error of it's ways like Lost did.
Mexican Karl, you are going to find lots of LOST love over here. That's the main reason we're all here after all. 3 LOST podcasts can't be wrong.
More and more these days TV is all about "what have you done for me lately," so the ending of Heroes really blew a lot of the good will they had built up over the course of the season. And Kring's "you aren't supposed to ask questions about it" answer to the lameness of the finale further alienated those of us who fancy ourselves intelligent TV watchers.
The other problem is with a full month to go before the networks give us ANYTHING new to watch and talk about, we're left with post-hashing what we've seen plus media hype over what we haven't seen yet.
I'm certain there's going to be huge outcry come October when some show, be it Heroes or one of the new shows is taking off and us LOST fans are left with nothing but trying to avoid spoilers and maybe the ever-promised, never-delivered mobisodes. So Heroes lovers don't worry, there will certainly be negative LOST press sometime in the near future. In the immortal words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?"
But if we were getting along Rock Riddle would be happy that we weren't getting anywhere near 400. Damn that Rock Riddle.
Okay, who is Jay dating? Are we supposed to know? I hate that I'm intrigued, but they mentioned it no less than 500 times on the RambleCast, so I assume I should know...
good thing this isn't a Lost night, cause i'd be screwed if i were still at work and it were a Lost night. But then again, if Lost was on, I wouldn't still be at work.
right now i'm working on those care labels that go on your clothes, you know the ones everyone hates and rips off their clothes. yup! that's what i'm working on right now.
i hate those stupid labels i didn't realize until recently that someone actualy had to make them. and now i know, cause it's ME!
the reason i originally had to stay late was b/c i had to work on a christmas tree tag, that's right, christmas! i'm sick of christmas already and it's not even close to being here.
the sad thing is that i work with people that send me the work from hong kong, it's almost lunch time over there, and i already have my work to do for tomorrow. how sad/pathetic is that!
THE TIME IS NOW 12:06 A.M. AND I'M JUST NOW FINISHING UP MY WORK. SAD BUT TRUE. NOW I'M OFF TO GO HOME TO GET SOME SLEEP TO START UP AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING.
RE: the above history lesson (admission-of-ignorance-ALERT)
Doesn't the statement that "Constantius II becomes the sole Roman emperor" imply that, at some point, there was more than one Roman Emporor at the same time? I did not know this.
MB, how did you feel about the person who left Top Chef last night? I think that chef was the only one whose restaurant I would want to eat at. I'm getting less and less invested in who wins that now, and I think next week it's not even airing. It's dragging on waaaaaayyyy too long.
How long was that LOST podcast for the Season finale? 14 hours or something. I don't think I could listen to 24 hours of Ramblecast. Well, if I got bored enough and had a week or more I guess I could.
I assumed it was that chick from Metrobuzz, but wasn't sure. She is kind of hot. But I'm not sure if it's one of those things where she's a solid 7.5, but when put in the Comic Con setting she jumps up to a 9.
I got bored with On the Lot long ago. Lot is a difficult word to type. My fingers want to type Lost. I'm getting bored with all my summer viewing. I'm behind on the 4400 because Tom makes me want to slap him. The show I'm not bored with is Burn Notice. I am bored with Fi though. She needs to eat a burger. Colleen is a 10. She's perfect for Jay.
The Tail Section claims to have real casting news for S4's new characters. I'm trying to avoid the info. about who these characters are. Last year I knew just enough about the character Juliet to let my mind roam in a 100 different ways I wanted her to be, none of which she turned out to be. I don't know how we're supposed to avoid spoilers for 5 1/2 more months.
i am a little afraid of all these "new" characters. i realize that they're necessary with the Losties making contact with "not penny's boat" and future jack and future kate. but i really hope that they're not annoying new characters.
Kristin at E! has the casting stuff as well. I averted my eyes and moved my mouse quickly to avoid. I can accept some Not Penny's Boat people and other randos in flashes, but I'm not going to be real happy if what we get is new people arising out of the background of old groups a la Nikki and Paolo. This goes for Ben's group as well. For example, there better not be a new sheriff in O-Town because you say on the S3 DVDs the old ones dead even though I didn't see her die.
Do you think we'll ever see what's happened to Desmond's boat and the boat the Others migrated from Falcatraz back to Island 1 in that "American Tale" moment?

googling Hadrian's Wall, it looks a little cooler than I remember. maybe I just saw a sucky portion of it?
maybe its just my Scottish side badmouthing it?
and my Italian side loves the wall. hmmm...

- The birth of Zhang Chonghua, ruler of the Chinese state of Former Liang
