I can't believe you told everyone my real name - you totally outed me!

Awesome job Kimberley. Leave it to the woman to pick up the slack for all the men!

:)

I get to say it first:
Finally, somebody has put out a podcast.

As always, Kimberley, you bring up points everyone else seem to miss. Good job.

Women are more reliable podcasters, it seems.

In order to feed my Lost obsession, I've been working on a set of Lost character drawings, which you can see at my Blog.

There are currently nine (although I'm about to add Sayid and Jin). Anyone who wants to use this artwork on their websites/blogs are welcome to. Just give me a credit and a link back to my blog or website. Cheers all!

Very good , tall guy.

Kim,

I always love your cast, but thought this one was particularly professional. Really well done! Thanks...and I agree about the walkie talkie :)

Stop beating up on the fellas, people (well, at least this one). I got my segment out...the ball is in the 'Lars court :)

Well i am off to stay up all night and try to get a nintendo Wii. and my life hits a new low :(

Wish me luck...

aimee is lost said...

Try not to get shot Mike!! And you should probably find out from the store manager how many they're going to have in stock. I'd hate to see you 16th in line, when they only have 15 of them.

Anonymous said...

Yeah!! I'm glad you all liked it. I figured it was time for me to get off my arse and do something.

btw, did anyone watch Daybreak? I liked everything about it except Taye Diggs. Did anyone else think he's the worst actor in the world? It's such a shame because he's so hot...

Anyway...thanks for the lovely comments guys!

aimee is lost said...

Taye Diggs is the hottest man on television that isn't on Lost. But I'm not totally sure yet on the acting abilities because I'm way too distracted by his hotness to really pay attention. I'll try harder next time (which means yes, I did watch Gay Break).

Mike Campbell said...

I got a Wii and all i had to do was stay up in the freezing cold all night. Woohoo

Anonymous said...

How is it Mike? I got a 360 last week, and quite frankly, anything that can distract me enough to stop me drinking any beer has to be something special! Anyone who has a 360 who wants to play on Live, my tag is Manianos

Jimmy said...

At last...the "Console Wars" truly begin.

I'm in it for the media hub thing...and use my 1st Gen X-Box basically for DVD's. That said, I'm a level 26 Halo player so my aim must be alright.

I'm in the process of flogging off the 1st X-Box to add to the 360. Once again, DVD, meda hub, and a possible few games.

Can I also mention in seriousness that my original X-Box purchase was a strategic move to get me out of the pub!

So Jellyman...prepare to meet "Creemy Goodness" on the Battlefield shortly!

Stephanie said...

I agree, Taye Diggs performance left alot to be desired. I hope he was better in Rent.

Mike Campbell said...

Jelly and Jimmy you are both going down. Tim i added you to my list, my name is Rentfn.

About to load up the Wii for the first time. I have been sleeping a lot. Darn staying up all night in the cold in a line takes a lot out of you.

I wish I could add something to the gamer conversation, but unfortunately, I got nothin'. I did, however just finish a book called Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, and I really enjoyed it. Some of the most interesting theories on life and pop culture I've ever read, especially intriguing coming from a seemingly conservative pothead.

I like randomly selecting books on the "New In Paperback" table at Barnes & Noble. So far, I haven't been disappointed.

New discussion question:

Deck The Halls is coming out in a couple of days. We Are Marshall is coming out next month. What if Jorge and/or Foxy leaves Lost for more movie roles? Happy for Jorge? Sad to see him leave? Want to quit watching if either leave?

Ralph- said...

Jimmy, what is your gamertag? i have been playing under the alias DrunkOldMan, drop me a friend request so i can pwn you!

Anonymous said...

Steph... Taye Diggs was great in RENT (but then again his part was very minor in the film).

As for TV actors leaping into film roles... I don't think anyone will be too quick to leave LOST by their own doing. Unless they are killed off by the writers, then I don't see them wanting to leave the security of network TV. Remember Shelley Long during her height at Cheers? She did a movie called "Troop Beverly Hills" about Girl Scouts in a cookie selling competition. What about David Caruso after NYPD Blue? His first movie after he jumped ship was "Kiss of Death" (how fitting). He's lucky CSI Miami is riding the coat tales of the original CSI.

As for the gaming systems. It's all Greek to me. Video games are the one part of Pop Culture that I know absolutely nothing about. I had Nintendo. The only games I had were Super Mario Bros 1 & 2, Bubble Bobble and Zelda.

Mike Campbell said...

steph - i thought you were going to get into how you wanted to see Deck the Halls and i was worried. Cause you and everyone else should be watching The Fountain on wednesday. cause its going to be amazing.

aimee is lost said...

I think if any one of the actors leaves by choice, it will be Matthew Fox. That's one of the reasons I didn't (and still sort of don't) think Jack will survive season 3.

Foxy has already had to resurrect his career once (after he disappeared into oblivion after Party of Five). Now he's up to his ass in movie roles. Should he limit himself to another tv show, or take advantage of his popularity while he can?

The question is all about where his loyalty lies; to the show that resurrected his career, or to his dedication to ensuring his career stays afloat.

Ralph- said...

i saw a trailer for We Are Marshall an Matthew Fox was in it. looked like he was doing the same stuff that he does on LOST.

aimee is lost said...

Do you mean intense lip biting?

Ralph- said...

i mean, creating forehead lines and cocking his head back and forth to put emphasis on certain sylables. and his hair looks tinted a funny color.

aimee is lost said...

In all fairness, I do actually believe he's a decent actor. I just enjoy picking on him.

i am fine with his acting, but it looks like he is being typcast as a dude who gets angry. just saying that this Matthew Fox is not different than anything we have seen already. he should stick it out on lost, cause i dont think that he will bring anything too special to the big screen.

none of the extracurricular movies the Losties have been in have struck me as box office gold (unless they properly insert their tongue in their cheek when filming the Rambo sequel). So i don't begrudge the Losties a chance to hit the big screen and score some extra scratch, but i wouldn't recommend they abandon the Lost gravy train just yet.

In fact, it seems like the trend in the last five years has been movie stars finding a niche in the small screen universe.

I don't think there's a character on the show who's death i would really be devestated by. I'm more interested in the whole Dharma conspiracy than anything else at this point.

as far as console wars go, i bought a used gamecube this past March and i look forward to the price of used games sinking even further.

I would be devastated if Sayid was killed. He's done HORRIBLE movies. But I heard that Grindhouse is supposed to be good (and his line in the trailer was awesome), so maybe he's getting better roles.

But mostly I'd be devastated if Sayid was killed because of his importance on the island and his general awesomeness. His story has gone lame, but his intelligence has proved so vital in the past, I fear for them all if he should perish.

Stephanie said...

When Boone and Shannon died, I was not yet emotionally invested in those characters. With Eko's death, hearing AAA was difficult to work with made it easier for me to deal. At this time, it's the matter of change. I don't want to deal with anyone else leaving the cast.
I think everyone on the show are great actors. Some just do certain things better. Foxy is good at crying, Evie does "scared" well.
As for Deck the Halls, I think I'll see it on DVD.
Speaking of movies,
Ralph, are you planning to see Casino Royale? Or have you yet? I want to hear your take on it.
On the topic of consoles, I was obsessed with Spongebob Square Pants on PS2 a couple of years ago and have since swore off any gaming, period.

Stephanie said...

Yeah, Aimee, I think Naveen is getting frustrated that he can't take certain roles because of his filming schedule. I know I'm in the minority but Sayid is my least fav.

aimee is lost said...

I'm usually never unimpressed with Sayid's time on Lost, but his season 3 performance has been somewhat lacking. It may simply be due to a lack of screen time, but I still have trouble forgiving him for not foreseeing the "attack from the water" scenario. His character should've easily predicted something like that.

I am emotionally invested in every character (with the exception of Nikki, Paulo, and most probably Claire) and I cry during everyone's death scene. That's just how I am. If I cried at Claire's death, it would be for the sake of the orphan Aaron, not for Claire herself.

Stephanie said...

Dammit!

I haven't cried at any death scene, yet. But that We Are Marshall trailer always chokes me up. God, that's a sad story.

Anonymous said...

i've really liked Sayid in the past, but imo they really fucked up his story when they had him hook up with Shannon. He was on a quest to get back to his true love, Nadia. As far as he knew, she was on the other end of that ill-fated plane ride. He should have been bonkers about getting the fuck off the island.

has there been any news on the mobiletelephoneisodes yet? Did they scrap them for the ep. 7 previews?

andrew.

aimee is lost said...

I found an article dated 11/17 where ABC is talking about launching the mobisodes, but they don't mention a date for when they will start airing them.

Mike Campbell said...

I would be sad if they killed Charlie cause then i wouldn't have anything to pick on about the show. Even though something is your favorite you need something about it to call a total waste piece of shit. And charlie is that.

YAY Wii

aimee is lost said...

With all of the outlandish plotlines and crazy shit that goes on, do you honestly think Charlie is the only thing we'd have to pick on...?

Honestly, I really don't want anyone to die. I like everyone, even the uninteresting, useless characters (cough, cough, Nikki & Paulo, cough, cough).

I like Lost.

Stephanie said...

I have faith that Nikki and Paulo will turn out to be interesting characters. Fingers are crossed.

aimee is lost said...

I have faith that Nikki and Paulo will be killed in the same episode, which I predict to be between 3x16 and 3x23.

Jimmy said...

Aimee...you say Sayid does horrible movies? Do you mean "The English Patient"? Curious...as Americans don't like it as much as the British.

But I also think Sayid is being wasted..and no one has rollocked him for losing the boat (Maybe Paulo should for a laugh).

Never cried at a death scene in Lost...did actually tear up once though.

Console Wars: Hearing basically that the PS3 is a disappointment. I'll be X-Boxing it, byut mainly for the DVD and media hub. Can make it work with my mac, so that's cool. Just want to clarify folks...not really a huge gamer, but if you boys are going to lay down the gauntlet like that...prepare to meet my wrath.
JP

Stephanie said...

Andrew, that is the root of my dislike of Sayid. How could he forget about Nadia so quickly and hook up with such a shallow and immature Shannon.

Stephanie said...

jimmy, The English Patient was beautiful, but that Indian Pride and Prejudice? Looks horrible.

aimee is lost said...

I finally forced myself to sit through the English Patient about a year ago. I thought the film was boring, and didn't want to say it was impressive because everyone in the world says your supposed to think it's amazing; I just didn't care for it personally.

Naveen was okay, the movie to me was just long and boring. I felt a little like Elaine from Seinfeld; I was waiting for that dude to freaking die already.

Jimmy said...

Steph and Aimee...

Shit, I forgot to mention also how incredibly shallow that whole "Shannon...you're my love" thing was? It really was a huge disappointment and quite unbelievable. Not the shagging Shannon bit..but the supposed emotional connection between them.

As far as the English Patient goes, I loved it, but I'm heavily into deserts believe it or not. Loved the cinamatography and the musical score. Wonderful music, I thought in fact.

In fact, I have a big thing for Kristen Scott Thomas and the whole "Go back to the cave to bring her home" thing I found very sad and well done. But I'm a bit of a softie at the end of the day.

Anyway...I know that Americans were very divided over the film, some found it too long...others found it a little macabre, apparently. I loved it.

Back to Shannon....I actually was quite glad when she got shot! I've heard that Maggie Grace really is a very nice person and easy to work with. Down to earth.

In other fabulous news, once again, we are being restructured (at my work). This time there is only one department being restructured...MINE!

What a lovely 4 hour meeting this morning. Hatchet men/women arrive next week...we are all being interviewed individually. Basically to fight for our jobs. I want to be home, in bed, head under my pillow....now!
:)

aimee is lost said...

Yeah, there might have been interesting moments, but overall I just really didn't care for the film. Agree to disagree?

I am looking forward to seeing The Fountain, although I have no real clue as to what it's about. I've only seen the trailer, which really doesn't say a whole lot.

Jimmy, good luck with the interviews next week...maybe you can tell them you're a famous podcaster and they'll think you're cool or something. Or you could simply get a head start on planting incriminating evidence on your coworkers so they'll look bad. Either way, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Mike Campbell said...

YAY Fountain. I am also a sucker for penguins so i want to see happy feet. Also the new bond because the power of ralph Compels me

aimee is lost said...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel like I would be betraying Ralph if I didn't go see it. It's bad enough I haven't seen Crank, which he constantly makes me feel guilty for. But Bond is different, because it's like a personal thing.

I have never seen The English Patient, and i don't want to as i expect it will turn out to be as disappointing as 4 weddings and a...zzzzzz which was also a pile of gay. I waited about 3-4 years after it came out proper, and sat down to watch it on my own, and was thoroughly bored. I'm not an all action movie type of bloke either. I watched Garden State a couple of weeks ago and cried liked my mum at the end. And as more proof, if not slightly embarrassing, is that Three to Tango is highly underrated movie, i fucking love that film!

aimee is lost said...

I loved Garden State. WAY better than The English Patient.

I'm starting to get into Heroes now, even though it reminds me a little too much of X-Men. Not that I have anything against X-Men. There were some silly Lost coincidences too, like the actor who played the pilot, the heroin addict, and the episode titled "Collision". Just silly stuff like that. But the show is still cool to watch.

Anonymous said...

A brief synopsis of Heroes, if you will, please Aimee. I'd like to know if its going next door to my mate's to watch it in HD?

Anonymous said...

i've tried to watch Heroes twice now, including last night. i can't get into it at all. I was a huge X-Men geek growing up too. It just feels like they're over explaining everything to me in every scene.

Also, i can't decide if the girl with the huge puppy dog eyes is cute or just morbidly fascinating.
