Lost Moments
Since it’s Wednesday, I figured we should at least have a new post and talk Lost. For those unaware, starting tonight, ABC will feature “Lost Moments”; 30-second scenes of never-before-seen footage of upcoming episodes. One “moment” will be placed at a random point during each episode of Day Break, however, after the show, they’ll be up at ABC.com, so don’t waste your time with Taye Diggs unless you actually want to.

If they (ABC) wanted to lure the fans into watching Day Break, they shouldn't make the scenes available on the website until like a day or two later. What motivation is there to watch it, if I know I can just go online at 9pm and see it?
Ben looks like that German dude from Raiders of Lost Ark - the one who burns the palm of his hand with pendant thingy, looks like Herr Flick out of Allo Allo (that reference may be lost on all but English people familiar with strange, early 90s british comedy. Where else could you get away with a french copper, speaking rubbish english in affected french accent, at 5pm on a saturday night saying, "I was pissing by the door, and i heard a shit" - passing and shot. Rubbish.)
I talk too much i think.
Which is funny, because when i think too much, i talk.
I think and talk too much also Tim. That's why I have to occupy myself with fanatic obsessions and micro-projects. Otherwise, I'd have gone crazy a looong time ago.

Ya'll hear about this tsunami? Dylan is in south Japan, right?
i don't think i'm going to watch any of the lost preview scenes. i didn't watch the scene of Jack refusing to operate on Ben and it seems like it made the drama of the episode much stronger.
ofcourse i'm addicted to the Lost podcasts and since these will be the only new content for 3 months, anybody that manages to turn out a podcast will talk about them.
andrew.
Dylan is on the eastern coast of the Northern part of the main island of Japan, and the tsunami warning was issued for eastern coast of Hokkaido, which is that separate island North of where he's at.
It's still fairly close, and Misawa's elevation is only about 114 feet above sea level, but I think they should be okay. If anyone hears from him, post on here to let us all know!
Lost will never cease to be impressive or surprising, so I really stopped caring about spoilers. I thought about sheltering myself the way Ralph does, but it's just too much work to live that way, especially if you listen to podcasts and spend time with the interweb.
Besides, 1/4 of them end up on the cutting room floor, 1/2 of them are foilers, and the remaining 1/4 aren't that big of a deal anyway.
So I might as well have a little bit of fun while I'm passing time between shows.
i am assuming that the picture posted is from an episode of Law and Order and not an upcoming episode of lost, cause i try to shelter myself from spoiler so much. but you know, every once and a while someone posts a pic of a balloon, and i have to go ape shit.
This is a promo photo from episode 3x08, titled "Ben finally cracks".
Aimee, i think this is actually a pic from the episode 3x10, "Oh Nos! Juliette Is The Smoke Monster"
you can tell because Ben still alternateened his hair in "Ben Finally Cracks"

Here's another, jellyman. I completely understand about being bored at work. I just wish I wasn't blocked from so many sites by Big Brother.
Andrew, that would explain why it looks like Ben is peeing in the corner.
Steph: www.ninjaproxy.com - let's you defeat Big Brother. Just type in the name of the website you can't access, and it takes you there under the ruse of their web address.
OMG Aimee, thank you. So, The Man won't have any idea what I'm doing?
Awesome.
If your employer is monitoring visited websites, it's not going to see the name of the actual website you're at, like myspace.com; it's going to see "ninjaproxy.com"; that's what will be in the address bar, so that's what the IT department machines will see.
You have to deal with pop-ups, but it's a small price to pay to be able to get onto the websites you want to.
One of my friends bought me the book "Lost - the ultimate unofficial guide". Oh my gosh, this is the worst book ever. I've never seen a more terribly compiled and edited book in my life! There are so many misquotes, typos, and errors, I wonder if the people who wrote this even watch Lost. Their analysis on some of the "meanings" are sooo lame too.
I could write a better book than this piece of crap. Didn't anyone proofread it before sending it to the printers? Gaaaa, shit like that just pisses me off.
I'm going to throw a wild card out here for a second and pose a potentially catastrophic theory, just to see what people have to say.
What if Locke was never actually paralyzed?
Like, he was faking it?
Or it was a psychosomatic condition?
i think that would be a cop out, unless he had a really really interesting reason to believe or fake his injury.
I know it would seem like a cop out, but wouldn't that be exactly the opposite of what most viewers expect? Don't most people expect some sort of an accident or spinal injury or something like that? What if it was the exact opposite, and nothing happened?
Do ya'll realize how long it's going to be until another Locke flashback?
I think I remember TOQ said that it was something pretty mundane which I would hate. This is a major mystery and anything other than MINDBLOWING would not suffice.
i dont think that they will make it fake. otherwise why would locke have so much faith in the island? i think that he was bound to a wheelchair for real. i dont see it happening.
Yeah, that's true Ralph. It would really need to be a miracle to make someone as crazy as Locke appears to be.
Steph, I also heard that it was lame. But I don't really care. It's still going to be fun to finally know.
While we're on the subject of Locke, do you remember in the pilot (or was it 1x02?) when he was playing backgammon with Walt, and he said, "Do you want to know a secret?"
What do you suppose the secret was? No one ever talks about this either. Are we to assume it's just about his paralysis?
He may only be talking about his paralyisis. I think it's one of those things that won't be directly addressed.
i thought that walt told michael that locke said "a miracle happened". i thought that was what the secret was. that locke told walt that he was cured from his paralysis.
was that after locke saw the monster cause i assumed he told him what he saw.
That's a very interesting theory Aimee.
Conversion disorders are rare, but they do happen. I've worked on the acute wards of a British psychiatic hospital for nearly ten years now, but only once have a met a patient with such an extreme disorder. A lady who was wheelchair bound, had a frozen arm and suffered epileptic fits. Medical investigation could find nothing physically wrong with her, and her fits were not like genuine epileptic fits.
However, it's not that there was nothing wrong with this lady. At some deep, deep level she was clearly very disturbed. She'd kept this pretence up for years (and is still wheelchair bound now). I was always sympathetic towards her, but not all staff felt that way.
So then based on the logic of the comic, this means that the deaths aren't really meaningful to the story lines, they're just payroll downsizing?
I think I'll try out Day Break. I'm kinda curious.
I was thinking of watching it, but I dont know if I could sit through 2 hours of it. Of course, what else have I got to do? Sit here all night & IM with Ralph about my dog pooping?
Hmm...watch Taye Diggs, or talk to Ralph about dog shit?
Two hours? I don't know if I want to commit to that.
This is bizzare. I just read it on Ask Ausiello.
"Question: Any truth to the rumors of J.J. Abrams directing an episode of The Office?— Kathleen Hughes
Ausiello: It's 100 percent true. The episode shoots in February and, well, that's all I know at this point."
Matthew Fox will host Saturday Night Live on Saturday, December 2. Musical guests will be Tenacious D.
isnt Matthew Fox like the most humorless person alive?
I figure he will be playing Jack in most of his skits. Funny, I doubt it.
i am sure the snl will be ok. Tenacious D is on it. I tivoed Day Break. I like Taye Diggs. Anything with someone from Rent i am there!
i thought that you were going foiler free?
Come on Ralph, we both live in the real world and know that's not gonna happen.
Mike, I've misplaced your email address for the fiftieth time. I don't know why me address book isn't auto-adding it.
I'm sorry Mike! Were you on your way to buy a Playstation 3?
How was Earl & The Office last night? I'm going to download them when I get home today, but I wanted to know people's impressions!
Aimee, Earl was the best of the season. It was what I've been waiting on. An article I read said that Jason Lee was one of the funniest people on tv. What are they talking about? Ethan Suplee makes that show. And Jaime Pressly should have won that Emmy. The Office was pretty good. Pam makes me angry. I don't know why she hesitated with Jim.
Don't spoil me yet!
I'm talking about earlier this season.
The Office was great.
