I'm back on the net after a hiatus.

Too bloody right I'm watching the Cup. Not missed a game nearly...broke already (been at the pub watching whilst cable down).

And on another note...te most annoying thing abotu cable and internet dying in my building was this:

I live for this time of year.

3 days before the cup started, cable and net died for 1/2 of my building.

They couldn't get to fix it in a hurry, because of the people signing up for the World Cup.

Look after the regular customers first Comcast!

My local pub, 2 blocks down was voted in GQ magazine as one of the top 10 places in America to see the games. I've blown around $300 there already. As a shoutout to the owner (who I know etc) here's the link. Just in case any other Seattleites are reading.

Give'em hell at the convention, Ralph! I still say calling Carlton and Damon on their occasional bullshit behavior can only be a good thing for MYOKOM...Dharmalars etc.
Cheers,
J

Imagine that I love Lost as much as you love the World Cup (it's easy, because I do.)

Now imagine the television station that airs the World Cup games deciding to play ice skating instead.

That's what I had to endure by watching college basketball instead of Lost for about half of Season 2. It sucked!

Jimmy, I noticed now that you're using the expression "MYOKOM", rather than "MYOKOM w/SAS". Is that on purpose or did your subconscious make you do that?

I can't get enough of the World Cup. I've been leaving work early just to get home in time to watch some of the games and I've been avoiding radio and tv when I miss a game just so I can watch the rerun later in the day.

The only thing that would make it more exciting is if Canada had made it but that'll never happen again. So GO ENGLAND!!! I hope u don't mind Jimmy since I'm not english.

Double post, I don't know how that happend. Sorry

Ahhh, Aimee...but I also say "The SAS" as well.

It's the kind of guy I am...you never know what's going to happen next ;)

(Removes tongue from cheek, gets back to World Cup)

Obsidian Rock...

My lads need all the support we can get, as do the USA. So rock on!

I was just looking for an excuse to show my bitterness Jimmy. But today seems to be a good day for the blog, with your triumphant return, it's not just Ralph and I talking anymore!

I picked up the latest issue of Details magazine with Josh Holloway on the cover. I really enjoyed the article; it was nice to read about someone who's good at being a celebrity. Holloway seems quite down to earth, and his wife seems funny. To quote the article:

Back at home, Kumala is downloading Brokeback Island, a spoof movie trailer that splices together hilariously homoerotic footage - shirts off, smiles, hands on pistols, lingering glances - of Jack and Sawyer. "You've made it, honey," she says. "You've been brokeback'd."

Then she emails the link to J.J. Abrams.

England was not looking very good today until the last ten minutes. Now those last ten minutes were sweet, but i was looking for a little more from them. They were sposed to walk all over T&T

I wish that I knew about soccer, I might actually have something to contribute here. Sigh.

My pick for the finals:

Trinidad and Tobago routs Croatia one to nil.

Hey Dylan, how's the Navy treating you?

this has to do with the lost experence -

There are these podcasts by DJ Dan, which i believe is an "official" type podcast. Well on this weeks podcast he had a caller talk about Nanomachines. And how if there were a lot of nanomachines in one place it would look like a storm cloud, and that it could think and also kill people. So there is a connection to the show. :)

As the only UK based officially recognised MYOKw/SAS listener, i have to say that the 4-5 weeks that the World Cup comes around every 4 years is the most delightful time i can imagine. This may be alien to many of you, but it simply is the greatest competition in the world, nay, the Universe. I'm pretty sure that England are going to meet Germany at some stage, and that will bring the ever-present chant of, "Two World Wars and one world Cup, doo dah, doo dah".
This time around, i will not being cheering every goal that England score, because if we get to the final and win it, i know i will cry like a baby. I want to feel every little pass, every misplaced tackle, every groan from the crowd when Beckham or Gerrard fuck something up that they do every week for their respective clubs. Then, when Rooney batters the ball into the net from 25 yards, and everyone on the planet wants to be him, or have a part of him, i will feel even more proud to be English.
I know Jimmy knows how i feel.

Jimmy: do you like Steve Coogan? He has a new sitcom coming out this week - i recommend you get hold of it somehow - it's better than Alan Partridge, if you like that sort of thing.

I didn't know the World Cup came every 4 years, I thought it was every year. Shows how much I know!

I second the thought of Jellymanianos, the World Cup is definitely the best sporting competion in the universe. Even though I'm Canadian and think hockey is the best sport out there, nothing compares to the spectacle of the World Cup.

I don't know about anyone else out there but I was very dissapointed that we didn't see the Crouch robot dance after his goal. If there was ever a good time to go crazy it was then after all the tension but then again maybe he's saving it for the final against Brazil.

GO ENGLAND!!!

Obsidianrock - i have to say Hockey is a pretty cool spectator sport - always something going on in the matches i seen!
However - Crouch will not score against Brazil in the final, because he'll get snapped in half like a twig by one of the Argentinian defenders - nasty bastards! This'll pave the way for an Owen/ Rooney partnership up front that'll make the Brazilians look like an Under 8's boys team! (maybe not)
