Found At Comic-Con!

I recieved the latest update from San Diego Comic-Con in the mail today. It looks like in addition to Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, Jorge Garcia will be joining the panel for LOST. It says in the article that the panel will take place in Ballroom 20 on Saturday July 22nd, for what might be the biggest presentation to date. Ben and I will be on hand to ask questions. We will call the SAS line from San Diego and give Craig the ARG update. Once we return to O.C., we will do a special report about the weekend's events in an episode of Dharmalars.

Any idea what you're planning to ask if given the chance?

um, not quite sure. the deal with these sorts of panels is that they have two mics set up in the isles of a room that houses like 20,000 people. So i have to get the balls to get up there, and get in one of these lines. I will be there with Ben and Stevi, and probably Jay from the Lost Podcast. i know that jay would like to ask Jorge a question. I would love to let Jorge know that i was the one who created that "Hurley Wan-Kenobi" pic, due to the fact that i know he had used that pic for his computer's desktop wallpaper. i would also like to ask damon and carlton if they listen to Fan Podcasts, and what their thoughts are on them, but maybe we can have Craig ask Carlton that when he calls him. I will have to get with Ben and see if he is willig to ask a question in a huge room of people. If so, maybe we can get two questions that all of you guys want to know, and ask that for you guys.

I think that asking them if they listen to any of the Lost podcasts would be a great question.

I think that it would help us solve the mystery of why the writers keep throwing in the "scott/steve" into conversations, the most recent being Ana Lucia getting the two confused even though she's never met steve (or is it scott that's dead?) The Craig & Frogurt guy thing would also being a part of this mystery.

Regardless, it seems that some of the things we see or hear on screen seem familiar to us, and some of them seem like shout-outs to the fans.

I would like to know if that's only our hopeful imagination/coincidence, or if there's more to it.

I expect in Season 3 they'll introduce a new character named Ralph, nicknamed "skunk", that used to work in a casino or something.

i dont think that i want to ask damon or carlton about the mystery of the show, because they will most likely skate around the question and not give a real answer. i want to ask them something that they will answer. maybe i will ask cuse where he got his idea to do a Freddie podcast for the summer break. i swear, it is going to take a lot of patience for me to be in the same room as that guy. he was there last year, but i did not know him at the time.

If you asked them:

"Do you listen to any fan podcasts (and if so which ones)?"

It would be a relatively straightforward question that they would really have no reason to skate around.

You know if you try to ask them some bullshit like "What do the numbers mean?" or "Is Desmond alive?" that they can't answer shit like that. That would be a waste of a perfectly good opportunity.

So you're absolutely right; you need to make your questions sensible, and something you're more likely to get an answer to.

Just be sure to give Carlton the "stink eye" while your speaking.

Maybe i can start off by introducing myself and say,"This Question is for Jaorge and Damon." ha ha! i dont know. i will discuss it with ben and see what he thinks. i am very excited that Jorge is going to be there, i hope that he is signing autographs. i know that Maggie Grace and Josh Holloway were last year.

maybe i can ask damon and carlton why they feel the need to have Hurley's story involve him being fat, and why they cant just have a flashback where his weight is not an issue.

aimee is lost said...

They've made Hurley's weight the center of his character, which I believe only represents about half of what they could be doing with him (the other half being the lottery winner).

However, herein lies the problem. There's not much they can do with his lottery winning story while he's stranded on an island; it's not that big of a problem being a go-zillionaire when you live in a place that doesn't use money.

Therefore, they have to use what they have left; his obesity.

The really sad part is, because it's the central theme of Hurley; the moment he overcomes it is the same episode he's probably going to die in. Which would suck because Hurley's awesome.

yeah, but they did not make michael's story about him being black or ana lucia's character being latino. it just seems odd. they came up with his story of being unlucky and crazy for a reason. they should explore that instead of his weight. i am a fat dude, but it is not the genesis of my life story. i think it would show more class if it was not even brought up. charlie is a heroine addict as well as a rockstar and that shapes his flashbacks, not the fact that he is brittish. Adict/Rock Star is just as interesting as Bad Luck/Crazy.

aimee is lost said...

I think the unlucky/crazy aspect would be better explored and tested on him. I'm really pissed about Libby though, because I think she could have been a great contributor for him.

I think they should drop the weight issue and work on something else for him, but realistically he should be losing weight on the island. The food stash was just a cheap answer.

I'm watching the Pilot episode right now, and oh my gosh, Walt looks like a toddler compared to what he looked like in the season 2 finale, it's so cute.

Ralph- said...

if i remember correctly, jorge has lost something like 62 lbs. while working on lost. that is like a pound a day in 'island time'.

aimee is lost said...

Really? That's actually pretty good, peanut butter or no peanut butter.

I'll have to look at a picture of him here in the pilot then flip to a shot of him in season 2 finale.

Just get a massive shout out for the SAS and I will be happy. God it's nice to be back on cable internet. Missed you guys a lot really.

Aimee...I can write you from home now...not just on the clock :)

I'm so happy for you Jimmy! I was worried about your mental health, what with having the World Cup going on, and no cable. Now you can lay low from the pubs for awhile.

In Tabula Rasa (1x3) Michael and Walt are arguing about Locke while they're under cover from the rain. Walt tells him (Michael), "If you were my friend, you'd find Vincent.", upon which Michael replies, "I'm gonna get your dog back as soon as it stops raining." Walt turns away, looks out, then suddenly...drumroll please... it stops raining.

I'm sure this must have been discussed in the old days of Lost, but it's so much fun to revisit these moments.

I don't mean to intrude on this conversation but Ralph, if you get to ask a question you should definitely give a shout out to MYOKOMw/SAS. Maybe by saying "Do you listen to any fan podcasts like MYOKOMw/SAS which I definitely recomend anyone checking out @ scottandsteve.blogspot.com?"

Just a thought.

GO ENGLAND!!!

Obsidian Rock...

I second that. And jump in by all means. Ralph should say "Do you listen to any fan podcasts...especially the EDGY ones like MYOKOMw/SAS...you know, the ones that call the two of you complete tools? "

Finish with, "By the way, I'm CasinoSkunk, and I endorse that statement" :)

Ralph- said...

we will see. many people dont know this, but my wife is into the official lost podcast, and it Drives Me Up Th Wall!

maybe she will dive in front of damon and carlton to block my question from hitting them!

Jimmy said...

Oh dear...I'm sorry, man :(

I think many of the questions will get a sarcastic responce. They don't seem to be serous about anything unless its something they bring up. So ralph plan on just getting more angry at Cuse cause i am sure you will have another amazing rant about the doucheness of Mister Cuse.

well you could ask who gives and who recives ;)
