As requested, I have set up a NCAA college basketball tournament pool for the blogspot.

Join by clinking here.

No need to know anything about college basketball. As usual with these contests, the less you know, the better off you probably will be. Everybody sign up. The more, the merrier!

Games start early Thursday. So try to get you picks in by Wednesday.

Awesome. Thanks Jordan.

Thanks Kim!

Thanks Jordan!

I SHALL LISTEN WITH EARS

memphish said...

For some reason the pick 'em won't let me pick 'em. I've filled in with pop picks at this point and I've tried Safari and Firefox. On each region it shows me the headings, but no way to pick the games. I can see the entire bracket, but that won't let me change the picks. Oh well.

Jimmy: JIZZ!

Excellent start, my man.

PalmerEldritch said...

listening to the show. enjoying it so far!

memphish said...

Great show Kim, Jimmy and Crazy Aimee. Wait, that's I'm not crazy Aimee.

scrdmnkydst said...

PFFT! Aimee should have called her car Arturo. Arturo is a better name for a car than Paolo.

Jordan said...

Chris, Did Jimmy say "jizz" or "cheers"? Seriously, I have no clue. Go back and listen, and you'll see what I mean. I thought he said jizz at first too, but I'm not so sure.

Chris JC said...

"Cheers" did cross my mind and I gave it a few listens before deciding to post that, however - Jimmy's accent being as eccentric as it is, I could easily be wrong.

Jimmy, can you settle this one?

Chris JC said...

Two Queen songs in the playlist where the one of the themes is "break" and neither of them are Breakthru?

Booooo!

James said...

When? Beginning or end? I have no recollection of saying Jizz! Seriously...I love the word, but would hardly sign off saying that :)

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, i wondered the same thing about what jimmy had said.

so, SciFi is now SyFy? wtf?

Jordan said...

At the very beginning. And yeah, I think you said "cheers". Funny cuz it sounded like "jizz". Guess those dirty TLI girls have warped all our minds.

James said...

Definitely "Cheers" ;

PalmerEldritch said...

oh. that's disappointing, jimmy.

i guess there's always next week.

t-dot kim said...

Hahaha, I heard Cheers. You're all dirty!

PalmerEldritch said...

dirty? or prophets of the future?

/up to jimmy next week

mb said...

Great show Aimberlimmy!

guess it's time to get Mac's ass in gear and record - break's over! :/

Stephanie said...

I hate the fact that all the new listeners think Aimee is actually crazy.

SyFy looks ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for doing a show! that was a jizzlightful surprise!

mb said...

SyFy does seem/look ridiculous to me as well

Jordan said...

What is the point of "SyFy"? Is it supposed to mean anything or than just look funny?

mb said...

I have no idea Jordan, but there's a small part of me (TWSS) that worries that Sci-Fi actually thought that some portion of the general public was mispronouncing their name so they're making it totally phonetic.

like I said - I have no idea

Alirio said...

I think the Y is for CYLON

andrew. said...

- thimandaimeeandjimmy! my favorite parts were definitely Aimee protesting her sanity.

- all signed up for the NCAA, thanks for hooking that up Jordan. I predict i will come in 2nd to last place, so which of you suckers am i gonna beat?

- SyFy is a terrible name. I guess they did it so that they could have better copyright control of their product but i think they should have just switched up entirely and went with a whole new brand like Orbit or Quasar or Boost... some name that maybe shed some of the stigma attached to sci-fi but still let you know what they catered to. They're losing BSG next week anyway, so fuck'm. :)

- think i'm all caught up tv-wise. That takes some doing these days. Too many 1-hour shows.
Has Dollhouse proved itself yet? I had all of the episodes on the DVR but I just deleted them after the 1st episode. It seems like a show that could be okay, but looking at them stacked up like that and the prospect of watching Eliza Dushku "act" for 6 hours was too daunting.

scrdmnkydst said...

You can't copyright the term Sci-Fi for anything, that's why the name was changed to SyFy. You never know, it might be pronounced SeeFee.

Wesh said...

Even with no lost episode to discuss, this will be enjoyed :) Can't wait to download.
Here's Charlie in the mean time:

Chris JC said...

"SyFy looks ridiculous."

Not as ridiculous as "Dave" but it seems to work.

And, as I state on Steph's podcast, the 1 hour delayed "catchup" channel is called "Dave ja vu". Yes, really.

Episode 18 of Heroes S3 is on, I missed both episodes 15 and 17 and it hasn't really impacted my understanding of the plot.

The Dharmalars said...

Dharmalarmy Ep. 2 is up!

Chris JC said...

Whoop! I really should call that sucker. Is it accepting MP3 attachments or just calls?

scrdmnkydst said...

Don't mock Dave. It's giving us new Red Dwarf on April 20th.

Mark your calandars people.

Chris JC said...

I'm genuinely surprised that you're into Red Dwarf, Ryan - it just never occurred to me that it would be your sort of thing.

It might just be that I know that I find most comedy shows that debuted at about the same time I did embarrassing and poorly made.

Chris JC said...

Also - if you mark your calendars for April 20th, you'll be ten days too late.

scrdmnkydst said...

Now, obviously, when I said "calandars", i meant "calendars", but whatevs.

Yeah, I like Red Dwarf. I'm well complex with very eclectic me. I'm actually excited. I thought we would get new episodes on the day that St. Swithen's day came.

James said...

I LOVE Red Dwarf and was recently introducing it to my other half. I got a Tivo recently and they are all on Demand via Netflix (through Tivo). Most cool...one of the few ways I can get all these great British shows over here.

Weren't they going to make a movie?

scrdmnkydst said...

eh?! I literally just saw one of those ident things that had the Cat saying "April 20th"... Meh.

mb said...

Jimmy - so TiVO will let you rent from Netflix?

mb said...

oops - late-BLAMMO

scrdmnkydst said...

I believe the film is in development hell or has been cancelled. Probably due to funding and stuff. That and Craig Charles is too busy working on Coronation Street.

Chris JC said...

They were, but the more realistic of us among the fan base always figured it wouldn't happen. And that with it just being written by Doug Naylor instead of Naylor and Rob Grant it might be gimmicky, disappointing and make no sense (like that JFK episode where Naylor forgets the time drive doesn't move the user in space - utterly negating Lister's hunt for Earth in his own time. Silly bastard).

New specials are written by Doug Naylor.

James said...

I too was always somewhat against a film of Red Dwarf...I never thought it could work right.

MB,

Yes...you can watch stuff through the tivo if you are a netflix member. Broadband required, of course. You have to also organize your queue on your pc, but that's no issue.

I had a Tivo when they very first came out, and then went without one for years. I just got it last week as a personal treat. I think you end up watching less TV, but more efficiently.

PalmerEldritch said...

will it pick up from Rimmer kicking Death in the nuts?

/spoilers from 10 years ago

PalmerEldritch said...

wesh - that is AWESOME.

Chris JC said...

I predict that it will ignore that entirely.

mb said...

LMAO Wesh! Excellent! missed that till just now.

Hey Guys, didn't know if you saw, but ABC announced it's schedule for the season finales

Wednesday, May 13
“Lost”
9:00-11:00 p.m.

Start making your plans now!!!

scrdmnkydst said...

...that means we're going to have another week break between now and the finalé....

Fuck.

JoeSC said...

Maybe Cuseloff is planning a surprise and they're gonna give us an extra hour this season... That would be sweet!

I'm not holding out hope, though...

Wesh said...

An extra hour of lost would be so much win! Even if it was just filler consisting of a major mud fight between the girls of Lost. With all the time traveling and such, the contestants need to wear skimpy Mayan clothing.
Ship that episode, ship it!

About the Charlie gif: lol yeah, he totally could've written that instead of "not penny's boat". The facial expressions are all there :) :)

JoeSC said...

"Even if it was just filler consisting of a major mud fight between the girls of Lost."

That wouldn't be filler... that would be finale-worthy!!!

ATTENTION ALL MYOKOM W/ SAS LISTENERS!

I have just uploaded a torrent with all of the original MYOKOM W/ SAS episodes with craig and dylan from back in season 2. for anyone who wants to download it, go to this link.

http://www.mininova.org/tor/2386794

download the file, and open it in a bittorrent client. for more info on torrents, go to google, and search "torrent help" or something along those lines.

please seed after you are done. and, if anyone has the newer episodes with ryan, after dylan left, email them to me, and i will upload a seperate torrent.

and kim and aimee, if you could mention this on the podcast it would help spread the word of the myokom with sas-ness for anyone that wants to listen.

That is exactly the same for me! I too have recently caught up on my dvr. And part of doing so included deleting all the episodes of Dollhouse I had recorded. Never even watched the pilot. I just can't get excited about the idea of the show. And the odds of it sticking around aren't so hot. If it ends up the next Firefly or something amazing, I can always catch up later. But for now, it's not nearly worth the investment.

Oh, and thanks for the let down guys. I just got home to and saw that there was about 30 new blogspot posts! Only to find a bunch of boring ass Red Dwarf nonsense. I'm having Doctor Who flashbacks. I think I'm allergic to discussion of nerderific British sYfY shows.

memphish said...

I read somewhere that LOST will skip a week in April, but I can't find where I read that to tell you which week. I didn't look too hard though to avoid spoilers.

I haven't bothered with Dollhouse either. My Friday DVRing was already in overload with FNL and BSG and Batman The Brave and the Bold and Clone Wars for the kid. I figure if it works, I can always catch up later, which I know is a Catch-22, if I don't watch there won't be a later. Blah, blah, blah, but then I'm not a Nielson family. I think if I were a Nielson family I'd never do anything other than watch TV for the guilt of letting some good show die but for my viewing.

Jordan - I'd rather have a discussion about boring British sci fi than yet another rant about sports from you......

Jordan said...

Sports kicks nerdy british sci-fi shows ass any day of the week. And would totally be able to win in a fight.

PalmerEldritch said...

nerdy british sci-fi shows have laser guns and space ships. (american) football players only carry handguns.

/zing!

Stephanie said...

Dollhouse- Basically Fox has screwed it up. Especially bad is the Jem episode where Dushku plays a back up singer. The one where she's an art thief is good and so's the one from last week where she was a blind religious cult member. Every time I think of her name I think of him. No, really I think of him. So, in conclusion watch Dollhouse. It's at least entertaining even if Fox has stripped if of any depth.

Jordan said...

Nice one Palmer! lol. Almost makes Herhlishe and my stupid argument worth it!

The Dharmalars said...

Ghost you can send an MP3, only because you are a blogspotter. I dont know how much longer i can post these calls. they aren't what i would call super terrific. The call about the mouse and snake was pretty spectacular, other than that the dharmaline may not last much longer. Then, that will be it for The Dharmalars.

I thought about bringing the show back, but yesterday i decided that it would be done for good.

ralph-

ps- gonna listen to TLI tonight. looking forward to it

andrew. said...

- one day, the kids will be bit-torrenting classic episodes of The Dharmalars on their e-web machines.

- that week felt especially long, what even happened on Lost last time? Did they get off the island?

Oh. I'm a girl. Oh how innovative.
