Am I first? Ha!

You are. I'm excited again for this one. Heck I'm always excited for LOST even if the "tapdancing" has been a bit less graceful this season.

Jin: You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in the Dharma Initiative?

Sawyer: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?

Jin: No, man, Dharma uses the metric system. They don't now what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.

Sawyer: What do they call it?

Jin: They call it a 'LaFleur with Cheese.'

Sawyer: 'LaFleur with Cheese.'

Jin: That's right.

Is it bad that i know the exact episode that that was riffed from?

(just to complete the scene - sort of)

Jin: you know what they put on french fries instead of ketchup?

Sawyer: What?

Jin: Ranch Dressing

Sawyer: Goddamn!

Jin: I seen 'em do it. And I don't mean a little bit on the side of the plate, they fuckin' drown 'em in it.

/inspired Palmer - good one

*Replying to Jimmy's post in the last thread*

Jimmy, I totally agree with what you're saying about well produced podcasts. If somebody can get their foot into the door in such a manner, awesome! There are a couple "amateur" podcasts out there that are far superior to any official or professional ones.

The point I was getting at however, was that A TON of truly amatuer podcasts out there that take themselves too seriously. Thinking that they are bigger than they are and thusly giving their listeners the general idea of "profession over hobby" which seems to sometimes become the perceived notion from the "fans". Again, yes. There are a few out there that are THAT good, who have BY CHOICE basically chosen to treat their hobby as a profession and take it very serious. THAT IS AWESOME. To those people, I say, rock on. Keep up the great work. But they are in the minority. Most podcasts are hobbies and something people do for the fun of it. And to me, it's extremely lame to critique or demand ANYTHING from somebody giving you something for FREE.

Say I were to create a website and provided free content for users that they enjoyed. In this case, if anybody felt the need to bitch about something or complain or demand anything from me, I'd tell them to go frick themselves. But if I ran it as a pay site, totally different story. Well, thinking about it. Maybe if I was monitizing my site through ads, then the commentary would be warranted. But my example was meant to be me doing something for me that other people just happen to enjoy as well. In such a case, sorry, but you telling me what to do, doesn't fly in my book.

Alls I know is that Kim has more than a few times on here commented about the podcast feeling like a chore, and that there are times when she wishes she didn't do the show. So to myself, as a thoughtful listener, I would take those words and be thankful for what I get. And sure as shit not push things the other way to the point where I might risk getting a show, period. Just my two cents on the issue.

We have drastically changed our recording process and that should improve our sound big time.

We are also trying something new tonight by recording and having a brief discussion during commercials.

I did not read the last thread (spoiler free) but i have to throw in my two cents. The Dharmalars was NEVER anything more than an amateur podcast!

A lot of us just do it for fun.

By the way I hope I'm not pulling a Cliff by talking about my stuff here.

I really have felt like I've made some genuine friends here and am really just communicating.

Ralph... Just had a chance to listen to the "SOS-316" podcast today. Ryan did a hell of a job and I really, really enjoyed outro music. Sad, but quite fitting. Closing with Kim's TLI opening was perfect!

Hope you enjoy the extra free time man, you earned it!

Wow, I thought only Wayne Brady gets to choke a bitch!

mr. bill, i've just recently begun listening to BTCE: Lost edition but i'm liking it so far. as a northern boy, i do have trouble assigning names to the voices but i'm working on it. i find myself agreeing with most of what you're saying and being enthused that you guys are having the same trains of thought that i am while i'm listening to it. as opposed to those "other guys." so, drop some mild pimpage every couple of threads. no problem from me with that.

in other news, i'm watching ghost hunters just in case it's a Miles episode tonight.

in case you do want to talk spoilers
