Poor quality, but here is the clip of Munch predicting our future back in a 1994 episode of Homicide. Hit the nail on the head. Expect for the virtual reality part. That didn't quite pan out as people thought. lol.

Kim, I'm getting bootleg DVDs of all three seasons of Supernatural tomorrow. Do you want me to mail them to you as I watch them?

Last day of work today. Leaving now. I kinda wanna take everything with me. I probably won't be around as much from the new job, at least not at first. I'll miss talking to you guys all day every day.

MB: Ally - I hope the new job is awesome! We'll talk to you after hours

Coming this Fall, Ally After Hours. The Ally we all know and love, but sassier.

Hang on - is this the reason for the pole dancing?

Alirio:
I just realized it's been 10 years since my former band and I recorded our first and only studio album.

And very good it is, too even if I don't speak the language. I'm a sucker for 90s Prog, though. And I can find most of the album by scrolling to L on my iPod.

I think everyone should follow the lead set by Alirio and myself and upload pictures of themselves playing bass.

Trevor McFur said...

Hey blogspot!

Yeah, new busy job + long commute = much less time to multislack.

Thanks for the congrats about the Phils last thread. Being a true Philadelphian, though, I'm convinced that they're going to find a way to blow it (after all, outside of one inning in game 2, their offense has been brutal). Arrgh. I'm also shaking my fist in rage at the idiots in MLB who decided to schedule the Phillies' game at the exact same time at the Eagles' game today (not to mention the Packers' game).

My thoughts on the new fall season:

Fringe -- still a meh for me. I'm not sure why, but it's just not grabbing my interest. I do like the cast a lot, though. I'll give it until mid-season, I think.

Heroes -- double meh, although I've only watched the first 2 episodes. Are they even trying to maintain any sort of continuity anymore? The overall mythology of this show is really a complete mess anymore.

Pushing Daisies -- very nice to have it back. The first episode was great, I had forgotten how enjoyable this show is. I'm glad that the aunts are getting out of the house, but I really really hope that Olive isn't going to be pushed to the side.

Trevor McFur said...

I'm feeling so schizophrenic. I had the split screen going today, and, literally, just as the Phils were finishing up the Brewers, the Eagles were finishing up their most pathetic effort this season. So I'm so excited and happy to see the Phillies advance, but also so pissed of about that abomination of an Eagles game.

fuck it ....... GO PHILLIES!

We drove up to San Francisco yesterday and drove back today. That is over 800miles in 36 hours. It cost like $120 in gas alone, but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!

Palmer, it was his only public appearance in a billion years. as soon as i heard about it a few months back i decided that 400+ miles one way was close enough. Stevi jumped at the chance to go as well. She made them a Madman Doll. As soon as we got there Laura saw my Madman shirt and started chatting with us as if she knew us. THEN..mike walked up to us and he said "Ralph, right?" and i fucking LOST IT!!! but only in my brain. Stevi was all nervous so i nudged her to give them the Crocheted Doll that she made, and she was shy. so i told mike and laura that stevi had something for them. their eyes lit up and Mike gave her a big old HUG. i took a picture of them looking at it. it is all on Myspace under the album Neon Monster. check it. i will post a blog about the whole story tomorrow.

good evening, b spotters. i had a wonderful first day of work, i hope it keeps up for at least the rest of the week.

i went out this weekend to celebrate both friday and saturday and realized i'm getting too old for that, at the ripe old age of 26. yesterday and today i'm exhausted! i can barely walk because my legs hurt so much.

here's the extra sassiness from "after hours ally" i did some amateur pole dancing saturday night, not at a strip club but at a regular club. i'm surprised i didn't roll right onto the floor.

Jordan said...

Potentially bad news if you watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Damn you Fox. Ever think about moving a struggling show away from a night dominated by Dancing with the Stars & Monday Night Football? Add yet another quality show to the long list of good shows dumped by Fox.

Also, Pushing Daisies got it's ass kicked in the ratings last week. Finishing 4th in it's time slot. Here's a comment from TV critic Tim Goodman:

Poor "Pushing Daisies." It came back last Wednesday and got plastered, finishing fourth in its time slot - behind even "Knight Rider." In the business, that's called a knockout punch. If the series doesn't show some life this Wednesday, things could get awful bleak awful fast. ABC will have a huge decision to make.

If that show gets canceled, and crap like According to Jim and Two & a Half Men keeps on going, I might just have to go and punch a bunch of Okies in the face. Damn you middle America.

Chris JC said...

That'd be a shame. I understand it's a business but it's been a consistently well written and plotted show.

If Fox do can it, I hope the producers get enough warning to tie it up.

Chris JC said...

I see that Robin, the boy wonder, is getting his own show in the shape of The Graysons.

Hooray?

Stephanie said...

Oh no! It's going to be on the CW and be like Smallville.:(

Stephanie said...

I'd rather see a Green Arrow spin-off.

scrdmnkydst said...

...I'd much rather a Smallville type show about a Marvel character... seeing as they tend to be more 3 dimentional...

Chris JC said...

Ask JJ Abrams

PalmerEldritch said...

smallville is one of my guilty pleasure shows. but it's cool to watch a show about people with super powers.

in fact, right now its more interesting than boring old heroes.

although, i havent seen last night's heroes yet.

that said, The Graysons sounds like an awful idea. what the heck would it be about? a nine year old who does circus tricks?

Chris JC said...

As far as I understand it, Grayson's backstory is: was in a family of circus acrobats. A mob boss threatens badness to the circus if they don't pay him protection money. As a result, the rest of his family get killed that night during their act. Dick goes into foster care and eventually gets taken on by an eccentric millionaire with a tights fetish and the desire to spread fear among the criminal element.

That's it.

So I'm assuming this will have him coming up with the whole Robin-as-vigilante-hero thing by himself years before encountering Bruce Wayne.

Chris JC said...

You know what would be better?

AZRAEL

PalmerEldritch said...

Even better?

This Azrael.

Chris JC said...

Gargamel's teenage years do need to be covered, it's true.

PalmerEldritch said...

It could explore the deep psychological issues that led to his unending yearning for Gold.

Also, it could explain why he only has one outfit (much like Clark Kent for many years of Smallville).

Chris JC said...

I still think Warners are missing a trick with the Azreal series. They can get his backstory well established and then whack out a big screen version of Knightfall to continue the adventures of the character.

- that's some bullshit about Terminator: TSCC. Monday night is a shit slot for the show, especially since it's now up against Heroes and football. Ever try counter-programming Fox?
I didn't even remember T:TSCC was on when i groaned my way through last night's Heroes episode.

- I think Pushing Daisies looks like a complicated show from the outside (and last week's episode seemed especially continuity heavy) I did my part and sent the first season DVDs to a friend. I will be pissed if yet another Brian Fuller production gets cut short by an unreceptive public.
I'm still waiting for the Dead Like Me movie featuring our friend Desmond but its release keeps getting pushed back (not a good sign)

- "After-Hours Ally" is an exciting turn of events, random amateur pole-dancing and all!

memphish said...

Naomi is on last night's episode of Life. I think Starla may be too.

[ally] said...

i'm breaking the rules and posting.

T:SCC getting taken out because they don't know where to put it? (twss) I'm sure the real reason is that they're too cheap to keep paying for a good show. Last night's episode was awesome! The end of the scene in the woods gave me chills. Literally.

Heroes was good last night too. Mohinder is scaring the pole dancing out of me!

Stephanie said...

I was thinking how interesting Mo's story had become and then podcasts are pointing out to me that it's a blatant rip-off of The Fly. But he's a cockroach?
How creepy is "Hail to the Chef"?

t-dot kim said...

I thought Heroes was a good episode too. I really liked it.

scrdmnkydst said...

Mohinder's turning into a cockroach?

Oh. I see what they did there...

Jordan said...

I really liked Heroes last night. It was fun and exciting. I know the entire world is complaining about 4400 and Fly rip offs, but I could honestly care less. I never watched The 4400 and Mohinder's storyline is so insignificant in my eyes that it doesn't bother me at all.

I liked T:SCC. Was good as usual. Nothing amazing, just good solid action fun. It amazes me that Fox is as inept as they are when it comes to programming. They totally screw up in promoting and programming a show. Then they go and blame the show for not getting the ratings they want. It's exactly what happened with AD. They didn't know how to promote it and moved it around so much, that it could never get established. Like Andrew said, how about a little counter programming? Maybe instead of putting your action shows up against MNF, maybe put them on a night dominated by all of the numerous womens shows that rule the networks? I know it's probably not a cheap show to make, but maybe that should mean that you try a little bit harder before you can it. The funniest part of it all is the reports claim that Fox is blaming it for Prison Break's poor ratings as well. Did they ever consider the fact that Prison Break becoming a parody of itself just might have something to do with it? Just shows even more how inept the Fox execs are. They don't want to lose Prison Break, the show that is going downhill. But they're willing to can the show that's getting better with each episode.

PalmerEldritch said...

all this heroes love all of a sudden?!

wtf?

i'll have to check out last night's episode, huh?

as for Terminator, that sucks for all you Terminator fans. it seems to me (some random guy on the internet) that a lot of people are watching the show. i wonder if Hulu, fox.com, and DVR are killing the tv ratings. also, i see commercials for the show all the time but, you all are right, putting an action adventure show up against football might not be the wisest move.

oh. and prisonbreak was fun last night. thanks to copious amounts of T-Bag. and to the guest star of the week. but, yeah, it's no season 1 of prisonbreak.

Stephanie said...

Listen to me interview two fascinating Canadians here.

Jordan said...

Prison Break has been better the past 2 weeks, I will admit. The episodes prior though were nearly pushing me off the bandwagon. They seem to be getting away from the Sylla card crap now. And we have a new set of blueprints! Woo hoo! Tunneling! And yes, T-Bag was sorely missed.

Jordan said...

I was a little disapointed that there was no mention of the most famous Canadians of all, The McKenzie Brothers

Alirio said...

andrew:

I'm glad you brought that up. It is a little known fact that Bob McKenzie is also the name of a non-fictional Sports Television reporter. He successfully sued the Canadian Radio and Telecommunication Commission last year to have all mentions of the FICTIONAL Bob McKenzie on airwaves of any kind(including Podcasts) against the law! Kimberley and I were actually being quite careful to not speak the name of he who cannot be named... in Canada

And now some words about the band "Mogwai" from Herlihy:

Anonymous said...

Random anonymous question for you smart folks. I'm thinking about popping the question. Should I get a ring and ask or ask without one? Ladies, what would your preference be? She knows that I want to marry her, but I haven't asked her officially yet.

I already emailed the Married Man podcast guys, but haven't got a response yet.

Chris JC said...

I imagine ring is nice, if you can't get the size you can always resize it later.

Alternatively, get a kind of "stand in" ring and then go shopping for something that she'd want later.

Weighing the two up, I'd probably suggest getting the ring first.

Anyone?

andrew. said...

- if she knows you want to get married, and she's not just the nice lady at your bus stop, then i think a ring is in order.

- aaah! Mother Superior from Pushing Daisies is none OTHER than Sheriff Isabelle.

Anonymous said...

Ring or no ring, anon. It's up to you. If she's picky then no ring. Go pick one out after. But you should ask, and be serious. My sister broke up with a boyfriend because he never asked officially and things were going nowhere. He always mentioned it casually, but nothing came of it. If you're serious, ask, ring or not.

scrdmnkydst said...

Chris - I don't like Mogwai. Not really my stuff.

I have friends that like the band though.

Chris JC said...

I didn't dare to presume whether they would be positive or negative words.

How about DJ Moguai?

Stephanie said...

Ask here and then let her pick out the ring. Chances are, what you have in mind and what she has in mind are two totally different things.

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, lots of couples i know have found the ring together. seems like it would alleviate the problem of a guy picking a ring that the gal can't stand.

or maybe she'd just be pissed that you didnt have a ring yet. ack!

andrew. said...

- Did you ask the dad yet?

Anonymous said...

thanks for the input guys. Haven't and won't ask the dad, what is this, 1970? We've been together for 4 years, living together for 2, so everyone knows what's coming.

Chris JC said...

TWSS!

Nah, seriously - good luck!

PalmerEldritch said...

anonymous, good luck!!! we're rooting for you!

t-dot kim said...

IMO, with a ring.

(Also I agree with Chris and have a "stand in" ring if you don't know what she wants or what the proper size is.)

To me, with a ring shows you've taken the initiative, taken the time, and are serious, etc...but that's just me. I don't know you Anon, or your character so that doesn't mean you're not. GOOD LUCK!

Anonymous said...

thanks guys. The GF is pretty picky and likes what she likes so I think I'll take her along to pick out the ring. She's against diamonds so I have no idea what she would want as an alternate so I guess it will be best to just have her pick it out.

Appreciate all of your help.

Trevor McFur said...

I bought the ring first, but I also had a decent, basic idea of what she'd want. If she's really picky, maybe you want to wait, but asking her, with the ring right there, is kind of cool (for both of you).

It might not be the 1950s anymore, but still, ask her father's permission. The fact that no one expects it anymore will make it mean even more, and trust me, you'll score boffo brownie points with the future in-laws. Them brownie points are like gold.

Chris JC said...

Good luck, Anonymous.
