PalmerEldritch said...

thank you, aimee.

anyone catch the hidden text? working on it now. looks like it might say Dharma Initiative at one point.

memphish said...

WTF with the comments?

Hidden text -- damn I'm slipping. Someone get on that.

aimee is lost said...

I was so excited after watching new Lost-content. I haven't felt that Lost "rush" in a loooong time. I'm so in the mood now. Um, for Lost. Yeah, that's it. Lost.

Alirio said...

Damn! It says the video is no longer available

:-(

Or maybe it doesn't like my new MacBook?

I've named it ChinBook by the way :-D

Anonymous said...

Has anyone checked at abc.com to see I it's there? Kristin at E! had it; maybe she still does.

memphish said...

Here's Kristin's link which is also youtube, but which still seems to be there.

PalmerEldritch said...

this new comment thing is kind of weird. huh.

that trailer is pretty cool. interesting to see certain people in certain situations.

especially everyone's favorite Dharmalars commentary participator. very uncharacteristic stuff in the trailer!

memphish said...

Looks like an admin could change the comment form. This is called Embedded below post. I think if we went back to full page we'd get the good old avatar days back. Oh admins!

memphish said...

Not to mention that I'm having to click twice to get anything published. *#$%^* Blogger!

scrdmnkydst said...

this new comments thing is well bizarre

also... OMFG! I actually also got a "lost rush" i need to see the new stuff now. Now i feel like crap because i can't watch it... damn.

Why isn't it february already!?

Alirio said...

Where is my FUCKING avatar?!?!?

Damn you Google!

Damn you all to HECK!!!

OK, one down, three to go!!!!!!!!!

Ummmm ... what the hell happened here?

Jordan said...

Congrats Trevor. 3 more to go.

This blue screen is hurting my eyes.

Jordan said...

Just a fan made promo. But I think it's pretty well done. Def gets you in the mood.

Chris JC said...

Woah!

a) I didn't notice this thread had happened

b) a comment box in a sensible place? Blogger is spoiling us.

Stephanie said...

I don't like this one bit.

Not as compact as Ben's whoopin' stick, but still pretty cool.

memphish said...

Ralph, can you change the comments too?

Ralph- said...

i wish, but after visiting Jorge's blog and Cue the Music, it looks like it is like this all over the place. The only place that i see that is not affected is The Cricket blog. it is very weird.

memphish said...

Ralph, If you go to the blog's Settings tab and then Comments, then Comment Form Placement, you can switch it from Embedded Below Post which seems to be the new default and Full Page which I think was our previous option.

Scott and Steve said...

...AND IT'S BACK!

thanks holli,

Chris JC said...

I'm guessing I was the only one perfectly happy with the other style, despite the lack of avatars?

No worries - I like it this way, too, and it's clearly much loved by some of us.

Alirio said...

I'm so glad it's back...

That previous look had me feeling like I was being treated by an analyst and a therapist at the same time....

;-)

Stephanie said...

Oh thank God!

Jordan said...

I liked having the comment box at the bottom. But besides that, this is much better.

mb said...

Hey everyone what's happ....a new Season 5 promo?!?!? Sweet!

;)

good stuff - what are people's guesses on how exactly they make it back. Plane? Boat? Magic Box?

Anonymous said...

the video is working now too thanks ralph! (but i think it's not the official one)

memphish said...

ABC still doesn't have the promo on the Lost site. Everyone else on the webs has it, but not ABC. Guess they hired Hoodlum to do their webpage too.

in that promo, does you know who wearing that mining hat remind anyone else of Duck Tales?

i guess that might just be a sign that too many things remind me of Duck Tales... :\

scrdmnkydst said...

Something that always bothered me about Ducktales.

Surely diving into a pool filled with coins would hurt tremendously.

Ralph- said...

the video i put up earlier was the correct one. i dont know what this one is.

Palmer, If you ever need a time waster, check this out.

Woo ooo!

LOL!

memphish said...

Just figured out what Steph's comment referred to. Haven't gotten to watch yet, as I was busy watching that crappy football team from her state flush all hopes of an extended season down the drain. Though frankly the offense looked better; they just don't have any weapons and the defense is hurt and tired. At least I have something to look forward to on the DVR tomorrow.

Chris JC said...

Season 4 DVD update:

There are actually FIVE commentaries - parts 2 & 3 of the finale are on as separate episodes, but Cuselof talks over both of those episodes.

Disc also contains an "underground documentary" from inside the LOST universe detailing how the Oceanic 6 story doesn't add up. Despite a couple of odd moments, it's pretty good.

Jordan said...

What would happen if she met her?

Jordan said...

Dominic Monaghan can breath a sigh of relief. He is no longer typecast as a hobbit. Just now as a British rocker.

PalmerEldritch said...

"Enjoy fellow SaSsers."

awesome.

so, that might be a potential TWSS.

Chris JC said...

All (but two) Americans to qualify for free can of Dr Pepper.

PalmerEldritch said...

Chris JC said...

Given the previous history of this album, they'd be sensible to wait until it's ACTUALLY out to open this offer.

PalmerEldritch said...

remind me never to go to a hockey game. holy crap. exploding glass!

Ralph- said...

so i am watching this trailer for season 5 again and why do they show Yemi's plane falling?

Chris JC said...

If I were to guess, I'd say there was no significance in it, it's just there to pad out the trailer and is an exciting bit.

If Yemi's plane becomes important again in season five, I'll be quite surprised.

Ralph- said...

unless the island moved closer to Nigeria and shit got reset and that is why Alpert stays young, cause time resets on the island and that means Boone will be back!

Chris JC said...

That's an interesting theory, dude.

Fresh from the DVD commentary, it appears that when Spooky Claire says "don't you dare bring him back", she IS talking about Aaron. They don't make a big point of saying it, it sounds like it was recorded before fans ascribed any other meaning to it.

Ralph- said...

Chris, you have the dvd already?

Chris JC said...

As they did last year (and maybe before that?) they release in the UK first. I assume this is to prevent us all just importing the Region 1 version, which is really quite easy to do nowadays.

Ralph- said...

dude, you should do like a fifteen minute review, i will post it on the dharmalars feed. if you feel up for it

Chris JC said...

I might just do that, Ralph-

From the previous thread (sorry everyone):

LOST season 4 DVDs = mine.

Jimmy, Ralph-, were you aware that there's a live performance of sections of the score on this set?

Only four commentaries though. Still, I think that's an improvement on last time, especially with the reduced number of episodes.

The Beginning of the End (Evangeline and Jorge)

The Constant (Lindelof, Cuse and editor Mark Goldman)

Ji Yeon (DDK, Yunjin and director Stephen Semel)

There's No Place Like Home (pt 2 & 3) (Lindelof and Cuse)

"Lost on Location" has some great behind the scenes stuff. It's the first time I've noticed that in the first episode, Hurley crashes his car into a load of mirrors. Several years bad luck.

You've not experienced bad LOST wigs until you've seen the stunt doubles.

Contrary to fan assumption, it's not Zoe Bell who performs Charlotte's drop from the tree in Confirmed Dead.

I've garnered a very quick appreciation of Rebecca Mader.

You'll be pleased to know that the pop-ups are not on the disc, but there is a documentary about guns for fans of ballistics.

Bonus stuff is a definite step up this year.

LOST music fans, you will either be excited or really disappointed to find that the live score performance is not really presented as a straight thing, but what it is actually is a documentary about the music with interviews with Giacchino and TPTB as well as some footage of scoring sessions.

I'd prefer a proper music documentary and a separate version of the performance, but this hybrid is better than nothing.

Chronological flashforwards (nearly an hour of it) and mobisodes.

PalmerEldritch said...

i'd listen to Chris taunt me about his already having the season 4 dvds. and i'd certainly listen to him lament the outrageous price he had to pay.

my ipod awaits.

Ralph- said...

i dont think i will be able to get the blu ray a week early like i had hoped. this would be great. if you are up for it, send it my way. you know where to reach me. also, i want a extensive review on these scoring sessions.

PalmerEldritch said...

- It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia had me in stitches last night, the dry heaving and cat food in particular. This show has bumped The Office in my heart.

- for news junkies: the place where that McCain volunteer claimed to have been mugged is only a few blocks from my house. I am happy to see Pittsburgh exonerated.

- i'm really afraid that there is going to be some time travelling shenanigans on LOST. I agree with Ralph that the island may have moved back in time and closer to Nigeria, and the plane crashed there, setting up a weird time paradigm. I liked the bit about Kate matter of factly packing a bag and heading to the island.

"I liked the bit about Kate matter of factly packing a bag and heading to the island."

See... I didn't take it as that... I saw it and assumed that she was running away, yet again, from Jack and the rest of the O6 because she didn't want to go back. What with her being horrified by all the stuff that happened as they left and the dream of Claire telling her never go back...

I assume that she'll struggle with the decision to go back for a while before relenting.

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, ralph-, that picture of the giant fucking spider eating the bird is freaky. really freaky.

PalmerEldritch said...

herlihy, i like your speculation on kate and her vacation. is she packing heat right before Aaron gets his first line? think she'll pull it on Jack when he tries to get her to go back to the Island? hmmm...

Aaron's already had his first lines! In Eggtown, right before the massive reveal that Kate "stole" Aaron, he's all "hey mommy" or whatever.

Serafinowicz and Robert Popper, yes.

You can hear Peter as the "American" voiceover on the "It's so easy to join" video.

Sources suggest it's the start of something that's being expanded into a TV series for Adult Swim!

Two Phillies wins to go up 3-1 in the WS (including a bottom of the ninth win at 2am in a game rain delayed by 90 minutes). They're 9 innings away from ending a 25-year championship drought.
An Eagles win over the Falcons.
Two Flyers wins (their first of the season!).
And Penn State over Ohio State, in Ohio, probably their last real challenge to an undefeated season

My god, greatest Philadelphia sports weekend ever.

Alirio said...

They have to finish it. It will be classic!

A soggy, dramatic end to the World Series.

Trevor McFur said...

I don't understand MLB. If this was a regular season game, it would have been called two hours ago. But at it's signature event, they decide to play through it, so we're getting this sloppy game that doesn't reflect on the talents of either team.

I'd be very happy if they called it right now.

MLB...I'm surprised they they've called it either. It's not fun to watch--they all look miserable.

t-dot kim said...

ARRRRRGGG

t-dot kim said...

Sorry dude.

Trevor McFur said...

God dammit.

I don't think that they're finishing this tonight. If he hadn't given up that one run in the 6th, they call the game, and the Phils win the Series.

Fuck ... only Philadelphia.

t-dot kim said...

I think that's exactly what they were hoping for, a tie in a rain delay. They didn't want to have any team win on a "technicality"

Trevor McFur said...

Yeah, actually, I think that too. It would be a pretty shitty way to end the World Series.

Unless you're a Philadelphian...

Watching Bud Selig sitting at the mic reading from the Official MLB rule book ... not a comforting sight.

PalmerEldritch said...

ally, the gauntlet has been thrown down. some schmoes are trying to steal your office prank crown!

Jordan said...

I hate Bud Selig. One, just because he's him, and he sucks. But two, because he is the original Clay Bennett (Fucklahoma scum who stole the Sonics). Back in 1970 he succeeded in hijacking Seattle's brand new baseball team, the Seattle Pilots. The Pilots had played a grand total of ONE season in Seattle before he schemed to move them to Milwaukee and turn them into the Brewers. There's a little history lesson for you guys.

Trevor, If I were you, I'd be glad the game wasn't called. The title would be looked back on as the 3 games and 6 innings championship. You'd have rival fans telling you it didn't quite count, blah blah blah. Better to win it outright. That is unless you guys end up losing the series. If that's the case, ouch. I was just reading on ESPN.com about how Carlos Pena's rbi saved MLB a world of embarrassment. In that had the game been called, it would've been a disaster.

Homicide familiar face update. In this latest ep, none other than Mr. Chin himself, Bruce Campbell.

t-dot kim said...

Seriously, everyone is in that show, J.

PalmerEldritch said...

Bud Selig does not inspire confidence.

He does, however, inspire me to get a baseball bat ready in case he comes to the door looking for "BRAAAAAAAINS!!"

whaaazzzaaaap blogspotters!
it's a little on the chilly and drizzly side in Pittsburgh today, so i'd like to just curl up under the blankets, and watch some horror movies, but i'm at "work".

- Mad Men season finale was good. i don't want to spoil anything so i'll take the discussion to the message board.

- Did see ads for The Prisoner mini-series though! I'm excited. The original series was a big deal to my friends and i in highschool. AMC has done a great job on Mad Men and Breaking Bad so i'm trusting them to do right by the show, and its a premise that could really hit home right now.

- election election election...

- Ralph - was that Madman page a purchase or gift? either way it's a great page, features a lot of characters.

- watched a bunch of movies this weekend, sort of played catch-up. I highly recommend "American Buffalo" and "Jellyfish".

- i forgot to recommend "A Face In The Crowd." Andy Griffith like you've never seen him, in a sort of precursor to "Network"

Yeah, I admit that winning the WS in that fashion would be pretty hollow. (BTW ... rule was changed in 2007 ... for the 120-some years of baseball previously, if the game is official, and a half-inning gets played and then the rainout occurs, the score reverts to what it was at the TOP of the inning -- Phillies win). But the part of me that's desperate for a pro sports championship in my adult lifetime at all costs says, "Fuck it, Phillies win the Series at a press conference when the game is called is still Phillies winning the Series".
