welcome back, kim!

wait... Backstreet Boys? huh. well, at least you have some primo cowbell in that line up so i forgive you. :)

Ralph- said...

does this mean that i can skip out on our show this week?

Crikey!

Well, I guess if it's a Halloween special I should dust off this old name for a bit.

I... quite like that Backstreet Boys song, even if most of the actual horror does come from the music video (in that it features the final twitch of Antonio Fargas's acting career).

P, how did I know you'd have the first objection to the BSB?

It's a rarity for me, but I had a look at my Last.fm screen listening to that and... see how many plays you'd had scrobbled at that point.

Wooooooo!

Nice. That'll never happen again.

(better link than previous post, hence delete.

Hey! London's on fire.

That tends to cheer up the rest of the UK, and perhaps the world?

Nice podcast ladies. Good job on the pictures Kim. Don't forget to link to your video. We want to see.

TLI brings it to your hardest!

Almost late for work waiting to convert to mp3, but it was worth it.

PalmerEldritch said...

chris, is it wrong when i saw that part of London was on fire that i immediately thought of 80's Doctor Who?

"P, how did I know you'd have the first objection to the BSB?"
um... because they stole all my awesome dance moves? i forgave you when i saw Blue Oyster Cult on the list. now that i notice that Rockwell is on the list, you can do no wrong in my eyes (ears?).

anyone else watching The Price is Right on their day off? Drew seems a lot better than he did during the first episode. funny guy. seems to be having a lot of fun.

TLI and video games later today! w00t!

[ally] said...

wow, aimee already forgot us. lol. well not us, but where we hang out.

as cool as Ben's Flight of the Conchords group costumes were, kim (and company) win with theirs. holy crap, that was cool.

Wait a second. What the hell is this? And who are Kimberley and Aimee? And why do they both spell their names wrong?

I still don't think Britney looked bad at the VMA's. Like the caption said in the link, if she that pic of her was a girl you worked with and not being compared to old Britney, you'd think she was smoking hot.

mb said...

SWEEET! Just listening now.

This is so nice to come to work and find! (since I have to wait on Comcast to hook up my new digs)

Thanks for the kind words Kim!

Aimee - I can't beleive other officers actually got pissed about the shortstack story - you totally were NOT stereotyping IMO.

Mac and I will be back...soon.. ...relatively

I just saw the b-day wishes on the last thread - thanks much everyone!

Also - I WANNA SEE KIM ON TV - must google the video now (while I wait for a LINK to be posted here...[ahem] Kim?)

Ally, what did you dress up as for Halloween?

[ally] said...

I posted some pictures on the boards, Kim. On Halloween weekend I was a witch. On Halloween eve, I was a rebelious school girl. It was all I could come up with on such short notice, since I didn't think I'd do anything until the last minute.

Nice. The first pic didn't come out, but I'll check the msg boards.

Thanks Kim! You're perfect, and you look great - and now, strangely, I have the desire to shop for car insurance.

Are those reports during early drive time or later in the day? I ask b/c I imagine the one drawback to going on TV is having to worry about hair and makeup now.

Congratulations!

Excellent costume Ally

PalmerEldritch said...

huh. i slept through one day and look at all the blogspotting that i've missed.

too bad i have nothing useful to add.

mb, nice to have you back on the blogspot. how's the new house?

and, kim, nice to have you back too. thanks for the e-mail. i totally geeked out for those videos. "i know her from the interwebs!!!!" really happy for you. you traffic celebrity, you.

[ally] said...

palmer, don't forget tonight is the fall finale of prison break. whatever that means. and then we got heroes, which i hope doesn't suck, i'm thinkin' it'll be a lot of, oh! so that's what happened... moments.

Thanks Palmer

Ally - the Deuce is great, and eats like every meal is his last - lol - which is a good thing (for the most part). He HATES getting changed, but really, who doesn't :)

Palmer - realized I didn't answer your question - the new house is excellent, aside from living out of boxes for a awhile :)

Palmer - hilariously I don't know that episode (beyond the name and setting).

Yesterday's little smoulder can't really hold a torch (hee hee) to the Great Fire of London.

PalmerEldritch said...

kablamo!!!

PalmerEldritch said...

it looks like that episode had Teegan, Nissa, AND Adric. three freakin' companions. yeesh.

i may have to Netflix some old skool Doctor Who if the Writers' Strike keeps on keeping on.

[ally] said...

Spocklar looks spocktastic!

mb said...

Wow, Quinto's (cue Roxette) GOT THE LOOK. That's pretty impressive (at least for blurry photos - lol)

and what was the fascination with glowing beds/ in 80s videos? I think the Billie Jean video was the first to use it. Seems like there were others, but of course I can't think of them now.

mb said...

Palmer - yeah that 3 companions thing kinda blew. Mainly for Nyssa if I remember (which I barely do admittedly) who ended up stuck in the TARDIS or sidelined in the story since there wasn't enough for her to do half the time. But at least we got probably the most memorable companion death soon after (Adric) which solved that problem.

Paris Hilton tries to help drunk elephants

"The elephants get drunk all the time. It is becoming really dangerous. We need to stop making alcohol available to them," the 26-year-old socialite was quoted as saying by the World Entertainment News Network's Web site.

PalmerEldritch said...

no pantsless banjo jokes?

Jordan said...

Scary comment from that piece:

"If this strike lasts longer than three months, an entire season of television will end this December. No dramas. No comedies. No “Daily Show.” The strike will also prevent any pilots from being shot in the spring, so even if the strike is settled by then, you won’t see any new shows until the following January. As in 2009."

mb said...

Oh Paris - (sigh)

I supose it's disturbingly comforting to know that, for our appetite for celeb idiocy...we'll always have Paris.

The thing is it sounds like she COULD have sounded relatively impressive if she had said something about the destruction of the elephants' habitat which is probably what is driving them into the back yards of those Indian moonshiners (i.e. driving them to drink - lol). I should be fair and say that perhaps she said something along those lines and the article left that out (but I doubt it).

the 1977 catalogue is fantastic.

Heroes - not so good this week.

Anonymous said...

Elias, you're crazy! Heroes was fantastic last night compared to the crap that they threw at us the first few episodes. Things are happening, questions (some) are being answered finally!

TV Round-Up (slightly spoilerish for individual shows):

The Office - Aside from the shot with Michael and his reconstructed pants, all of the good moments were in-office with the less-wacky storyline. i guess this week is the last episode until after the strike.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - it might have ended up a blah season finale (and especially disappointing if it turned out to be the series finale) but Larry connecting with Vivica wrapped it up perfectly. 'Who the fuck do you think you're talking to bitch?'

Dexter - this show is a huge rollercoaster in terms of quality. The headbutt, Lila as a threat, the manifesto... great stuff. Lundy responding to Deb's advances, Rita vs. cartoon villain mom, Dexter being able to continually thread the needle to avoid getting caught... hard to watch.

Brotherhood - dull city, even with the tacked on Pulp Fiction-esque contractor. The 1/2 second of impulsive Michael clearly illustrates what this show is missing. Not more voyeuristic violence, but stakes, actions with consequences to propel the story forward. To be fair, elections on TV shows never seem to be as dramatic as anticipated. They didn't work on The Wire, The Shield, 24... either.

Weeds - this show is just odd. i kind of liked last night's episode but then realized that it contained no humor. i feel like i'm unfairly beating up on the show for not being what i want.

i feel like i'm being overly critical of almost all of the shows i'm watching right now but it also feels like they are all straying from what was making them worth watching in the 1st place. Pushing Daisies is the exception. It's still delivering on its promise with flare.

Stephanie said...

I agree, Elias. I had nothing to contribute during the podcast this week. I felt like I was silent. Nothing to say.

I quite liked heroes. Those of you who continue to knock it may want to stop watching as your expectations may have been set too high to ever meet. the beginning of the season was blah, but the last two eps have been great. no different that the arc of lost last year imo.

I don't think the real Andy Bernard would watch Heroes. I'm pretty sure he's a Dancing With The Stars kind of guy.

memphish said...

That ad left me stunned. The Phil Jackson quote was an actual Phil Jackson quote. The NBA is not happy.

Pushing Daisies remained the most charming, witty thing on TV again last night. And there was an ad for LOST. Hard to tell if it was merely for the mobisodes or S4. But they emphasized that ABC will be airing LOST in 2008.
