The Price is Right!

Drew Carey has announced that he will be the new host of the 60 minute Price is Right. I could not be more excited about this! From hearing all the people that tried out, i am glad they picked someone so likeable. I cannot wait!!

some of the names flying around were Ian Ziering, Mario Lopez and Rosie O"Donell....thank jesus that it is someone pretty cool.

God, that is one stellar list of names. I am glad to see Drew Carey get the job. He's got some giant shoes to fill, but I think he can do it.

he's very good at hosting things

I read somewhere that Norm MacDonald was mentioned. I doubt if he was, it was ever too serious. But that would've been awesome. Norm is hilarious. To me, the host of TPIS has to be a bit sleezy, as he needs to be able to flirt with the women contestants. To me, that was Bob Barker's best trait.

Ugh, Drew Carey...not a fan.

Thank God it's not Rosie O'Donnell.

Arrested Development Chat:

I was just on the IMDB page for Tony Hale and saw a title in pre-production called

Buster's Class Project

And I got proper excited until I saw his character was "Social Worker" and it wasn't a Byron "Buster" Bluth movie spinoff.

Boo to the world.

Also - is 8 a KABLAMO?

Sod it: belated KABLAMO anyway.

4,8,15,16,23,42,69, and 108 are all kablamos.

i'm psyched that Drew got the job. he'll be a lot better than some of the people rumored for a while.

My wife asked tonight if I knew the definition of the word 'serendipity'. This was my answer.

if anybody out there likes stand up comedy, i urge you to go search out the new patton oswalt album. it's hilarious. lot's of nerdy intelligent blogspot type humor.

mike, ralph, if you have alternate e-mail addresses, request the activation code be sent to those addresses. i NEVER got my activation code at my primary e-mail but i got a code sent to my work e-mail within 10 minutes.

kablamo!

I love the serendipity definition. I makes me say Kablamo! I feared it would involved John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.

That commercial is better now than it was in 1980. I think my wife was impressed, because not only did I instantly whip that out as my answer, but it also so perfectly answered her question.

The following is from a Q&A with Patton Oswalt. Not trying to piss off anybody. I just found this funny.

What have been some of the obstacles that you've run into in your live performances, specifically with your political comedy and the "Dukes of Hazzard" sketch on the album?

Huh, I mean, I've been booed off stage a few times, but honestly, at this point, making fun of George Bush is the safest thing you can do on stage. No one's going to stand up at this point and go, "Excuse me, he rocks." 'Cause he doesn't, you know. I mean, people that were into Bush in 2000, now they're like, they're like Creed fans. They're like, "Oh, look, I know. Okay. The guy was good looking. I was kind of drunk. And you liked Limp Bizkit for a week. Fuck you, you know." And so it's fine now. The edgy thing to do would be come out and say that Bush is amazing. That'd be the dangerous thing to say at this point.

Palmer, I saw your new thread and immediately I'm torn. Click it, don't click it. Aaarrrggghh! I didn't click.

Given FC's response I think I know what it is, and I posted something about it weeks ago based on an ad.

For you Palmer, I tried to post this link about the ending of Harry Potter, but unlike the BBS wouldn't do it right. Way to go Blogspot!

I can't figure out what I was trying to say at the end of that post. The link works here, not on the BBS.

I need more coffee.

P.S. On the BBS I could modify that. So score one for the BBS.

Hey, remember that show LOST?

So what do you think, Ethan: Mindless Ben follower or working for Juliet/himself? In other words, if he weren't dead, would Ethan have filmed Juliet's Subterranean Homesick Blues?

someones been watching their lost dvds, eh?

great catch on your blog with the 12 days versus 3 days. maybe he made his list and then was instructed to keep a further eye on Claire?

memphish said...

It's hard to say with Ethan. It seems like Goodwin was so successful in his project -- the big guys were taken out the first night; a list of "good" people compiled and then they were removed, then Goodwin remained to try to find the "good" in the rest of them, or at least keep the "bad" people from being harmful.

Meanwhile Ethan did the opposite of law low. After all, he, unlike Sawyer, knew who Nikki and Paolo were. :) He's off with the Great White Hunter. He's delivering golf clubs to Hurley. He's gathering logs in the jungle for the group. And if Claire's drug addled flashback is to be trusted, he still couldn't finish a list in two weeks time.

And here's another conundrum about the whole taking Claire thing. Why were they going to take the baby, but not Claire when they were willing to take Cindy and make her "one of them." Does Claire not have appropriate calves? Was she getting varicose veins?
