Wow. That was nuts. Ralph was out of control. lol. Good stuff. Indeed high.....on Comic-con.

Ralph is a one man comic-con wrecking crew. That podcast was shear insanity. Ben, Cliff, Palmer, get out the way. Although Colleen was able to go toe to toe. Cool work Dharmalars. You guys are megastars of the podcasting world!! Audiences and everything. Wow. Hope to hear more comic-con goodness.

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

This looks fucking awesome, chaps. Looks like work will have to wait for a bit.

memphish said...

Yeah, Dharmalars for breakfast!

MB, where is this transcript of which you speak?

Steph, I understand the long birthday. We've been celebrating our sons essentially all month, and if I'd get my act together and invite a few friends to go bowling, I could finally be done with it. I'm trying to balance him forgetting about it with the odds that 3 weeks from now he'll say "hey what about my birthday party," and I'll have to do one then.

Oh, and Steph, when I do something that screws stuff up, I do a system restore to put it back to a time I know it was working right. But I have XP, not Vista.

It's painful to see that the Comic Con Lars is up and know that it's at least 5 hours to go before I can listen to it. And no new pics yet on myspace! Anyone have any news about what happened at the panel?

Steph, did you fix your computer problem?

memphish said...

Trevor,

Recaps of the panel from IGN, from TV Squad, and from Watch with Kristin.

The Dharmalars episode is tons of fun though not tons of LOST info. Ralph's Giacchino story and Palmer's zoo trip are definitely the highlights. And

*********************
Spoiler Alert!

We learn Palmer's real name

End spoiler.

Trevor McFur said...

Thanks Holli! Some interesting stuff there. Looks like HP was the only actor to make it. Now I'm all excited again. Can't wait until the live feeds come out.

memphish said...

If anyone finds a link for the videos Clif mentioned, please post them. A quick youtube search got me nowhere.

Holli

Trevor McFur said...

I bet those vids will start hitting the interweb later today or over the weekend (I'm assuming that you meant the same ones that they talk about in the articles that you linked to).

memphish said...

No Trevor. Producer Clif said he's making videos of Jay, Jack, Ben, Ralph, et al and putting them up on youtube. Not the LOST panel, just our friends hanging at the Con.

As for the LOST panel, Clif said he'd try to get part of it up on the J&J feed today.

Holli

Trevor McFur said...

Oh, that's cool. I'll keep an eye out for those too.

Of course, it's not even 7:30 in the morning yet in SD. Guess we have to give them a little time...

Mike Campbell said...

woohoo more watchmen!

Stephanie said...

Ok, let's see if the third time works.
I had to uninstall and reinstall McAfee. I was online with a customer service agent for HOURS last night. He denied the problem being Vista but I don't believe him.
Burn Notice is back on track.
ralph- is precious when he's excited. ralph- stalking Giacchino. How odd is it that we are more excited for the composer than the actors?

Trevor McFur said...

When you uninstalled McAffee, were you able to access the places that you had been cut off from?

Stephanie said...

yeah, well, no.
I had to readjust again. The default was "Grant outbound access only". I had to change to "Grant full access".

memphish said...

Mike, Was the Watchmen stuff Kablamo? I haven't read about it yet.

Holli

Stephanie said...

A highlight you forgot, Holli:
Producer Ryan's giggle.

memphish said...

So that show LOST,

Richard Malkin, Real or Fake?.

Also, do you think that Michael will have lead these really bad people including Naomi to the Island? That's my guess at this point. It would also cement the that's why he's the one in the casket theory.

Jordan said...

You know what Holli? The more and more I think about it, the more I think that the person in the casket is going to be somebody shocking. Somebody that we currently really like and have zero reason to think. Basically what I'm saying is that between now and the end of the series somebody we like besides Jack & Kate is going to go all Judas on the lostaways. Why? Because Jack asked Kate if she was going to the funeral. If this person was somebody pretty much despised, why would he even bother asking? I dunno. Just my current thoughts on the matter.

memphish said...

But who could that be Jordan? The most likely shocking turncoat in my book would have Jack, but it wasn't him. It couldn't be Hurley, casket-size. Locke doing it wouldn't surprise me. Rose? Not shocking given Handsome Jack's theorizing. Claire? Will Aaron become a teenager in only 3 years? What are your guesses Jordan?

Hey gang. It's about 9:45 in the a.m., and everybody is still asleep. I guess yesterday wiped us all out. I don't think Clif got yesterday's footage up yet, but I'm sure it will be up by the end of the day (Friday). As for the footage he posted Wednesday night, I'll get the link from him when he wakes up, and post it in a conspiuous place.

We all had a great time. The panel was more fun than I thought a Damon/Carton-fest could be. Maybe it was because they were drunk.

It was also interesting to find out...

Spoiler Alert!

We'll talk to y'all soon.

Trevor McFur said...

Welcome Dundees!

Those Darma Bears are great. I hope you have more con pics to come.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the size of the coffin, to try and figure out who's in there. But it can't be Hurley, unless he's lost all his money somehow. But can you see Hurley turning into someone who's hated so much that NOBODY goes to his funeral?

[ally] said...

OMG this podcast is hilarious! There are moments when I can't stop laughing. People are starting to look.

[ally] said...

Palmer should be invited to the podcast more often.

mb said...

KA-BLAMMAMMAMMAMMAMMAMMOOOO

Jordan said...

I'm not really sure who that would be Holli. But in theorizing, I'm no too sure how much weight to give the whole size of the coffin thing. I'm not fully convinced it was meant to look all that small. Then again, who knows? But just for the sake of argument, if we take the coffin size out of the equation, who all could it be? The name that immediately jumps out to me that would be the most shocking is Sawyer. And he would fit the whole Jack thinking Kate might want to go to to funeral. Knowing their past, Jack might think that regardless what terrible thing Sawyer may have done, that Kate would still have some feelings for Sawyer. But if it was indeed Sawyer, Kate's disgusted reaction to Jack asking her if she was going to the funeral, that would mean that Sawyer had done something unforgivable. This to me would be the most intriguing possibility as it means between now and that scene with Jack & Kate, something big goes down. And knowing Lost, I wouldn't expect it any other way.

mb said...

Holli -

According to Tapdawg who was in the front row of the LOST panel:

A random good piece of information: Lost most likely will be moved to Friday when it returns in February. Damon dropped a subtle hint during the first part of the panel saying that it would be nice to go home on Fridays and watch Lost.

Ralph, Ben, Palmer, Ryan -- can you confirm? Tapdawg's report is the only place I've seen this.

Holli

Trevor McFur said...

Friday!?!?!?! NOOOOOO! Isn't that where TV shows go to die?

memphish said...

That's what I fear too Trevor. I'm already ticked that "Friday Night Lights" is moving to Fridays in the fall when the people who would watch the show are playing or watching high school football.

Moving LOST to Friday would just drive up Tivo and iTunes sales and ABC.com hits while driving down the Neilsen numbers. At least in my professional TV watching opinion. :)

Holli

Stephanie said...

Friday? NO! Who the hell is running things over at ABC? Sounds like FOX.
I'm off to see The Simpsons for day two of Morganpalooza.
Welcome to all the new folks. How many more are lurking about? Please introduce yourselves so the blogspot doesn't die out.

Trevor McFur said...

That sounds like a really Bad Idea. Hopefully they come to their senses before February. Good god, it's like they're running scared of American Idol.

Jordan said...

Friday night would sucks balls. Yuck. That would almost guarantee that I watch it on Saturday morning.

[ally] said...

Speaking of balls...

Boobies.

[ally] said...

Anyone else planning on watching the Simpsons movie this weekend? other than the Morganpalooza attendees.

mb said...

Double boobies

(i can always count on you to get boobies onto the blog Ally - kudos to you :) )

mb said...

I want to go to see the Simpsons so badly - maybe I'll sneak away for a late show or something.

Mattastic said...

Friday!?!?!? Worst. Idea. Ever. But it doesn't surprise me one bit. ABC has a track record of making nutball decisions. I was a huge Twin Peaks fan, well still am, and remember when ABC moved it from Wed 10 pm to Sat 10 pm, after the first season! when the momentum was its highest. ABC feared it wasn't mainstream enough, and that its loyal fanbase would follow it to Saturday night. Sound familiar? Twin Peaks didn't make it past three seasons. Sorry to be so negative, but it's certainly alarming.

[ally] said...

Thanks, mb. I'm also looking forward to watching it, but I doubt I'll have time to do so this weekend :(

lol. Leave it to the newbie to bring up "twin peaks" as we're talking about boobies.

(i really need to start calling the "newbie" by name)

:)

Mattastic said...

Jordan/Holli,

I've run through almost all the scenarios for who could be in the casket. Sawyer would be the most shocking, only because then you after to wonder who Kate has to rush home to see... Current logic would say that Kate and Sawyer are still together. Now that Michael is back in the fray I think his liklihood shoots to the top, though it wouldn't be shocking. Ever consider Sayid? Perhaps he goes commando/renegade in the next couple of seasons, becomes a hated traitor, but somehow is instrumental in ways we don't know yet for them getting off the island. Although he's neither family nor friend, maybe Jack would feel compelled to pay his respects for Sayid facilitating the rescue.

Mattastic said...

Twin Peaks... I think that would be quadruple boobies, yes? Two pairs of boobs?

[ally] said...

So true, Matt.

[ally] said...

Here's the setup, I hope you're ready Holli.

memphish said...

Kablamo!

Holli

memphish said...

Hmmm, Mattastic, It could be Sayid. I don't think Jack's ever really considered him a friend. At best there's grudging respect between the two, but quite often they are at odds about how things should be done. I like it.

Holli

memphish said...

This article screams MYOKM w/ SAS.

Holli

Mattastic said...

Newbie question alert: What's the deal with Kablamo? Through my brief readings I thought it was used for posts corresponding to Hurley's numbers. But Holli just Kablamo'd 69. Is that just because you guys are all a bunch of dirty birds? Cuz that would be super cool.

[ally] said...

Wow, Holli. That's hilarious! I'd like to see those TV ads. lol.

[ally] said...

lol @ newbie question, and lol again @ kablamo'd 69/us being dirty birds.

We (and by we I mean Holli, cause she's the one that Kablamo's the most) Kablamo for The Numbers and also for 69, just because it's funny.

Also be aware that we randomly type out, boobies. Especially when the blogspot is dying down. There's also a random, balls, every now and again.

I hope I explained it correctly, if not, I'm sure someone will correct me or add on to the explanation.

memphish said...

Mattastic -- the Kablamo numbers are Hurley's numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 plus their sum 108 plus 69 because this is an explicit tagged board, or as you put it, we're dirty birds.

Dave Lister: No you didn't. You didn't even pause.

Anonymous said...

yeah, thanks for spoiling me guys. i did my best to ignore all the new casting news and then this. :(

what do you guys think about the person in the casket being somebody we haven't yet met?

and i heard that carlton and damon said that the actor who plays richard has left the show. how are they going to explain that? it seemed as if they were making him an important character.

Anonymous said...

Julio - thanks for spoiling me about Richard not returning :)

Anonymous said...

oh, i'm so sorry. i figured it was well known. my bad. didn't mean to pull a ralph there. oops!

memphish said...

If you don't want news that was spilled at Comic Con, this is probably the wrong place to hang out. The reality is the only thing out there at this point is casting info. which is widely available and hard to avoid. I could guess the Alpert thing after watching the U.S. Open Golf Tournament for crikies sake.

But as for real spoilers, i.e. this is going to happen on this episode or even in the next 8 episodes, there's nothing out there because they haven't even finished writing the 1st episode. It doesn't even have a title. Four weeks from now when shooting has started that will be different. But if you don't want to know who's in the cast for S4, then you need to cancel your internet connection and your cable because otherwise you're screwed.

Sorry if that read rant-y, but it's the truth.

Is Robot Lubricant a good thing? If your a fan, you'll love the movie. Only a tad of Ralph and no Apu that I remember. I had low expectations so it lived up to them. Hubby gives it an eight out of 10. We had a theater full of VERY small children, leaving me nervous. A baby of less than two years sat directly behind me. She giggled through the entire movie and actually enhanced the experience. What do ya know?

did DarkUFO video tape that video despite the embargo on doing so? or did it get released somewhere else?

no cool pictures today. but ben and ralph have an awesome Edgar Wright / Nick Frost story to tell you soon. beg them.

memphish said...

Palmer, Thanks for the update. I don't know how DarkUFO got the video, but there's a nice up close one on their site now. The more I reflect on it, that video has to be a giant joke. There's no way they're going to officially release something with the f-bomb is there? I guess they could bleep it, but still. I hope they aren't taking LOST in the potty mouth direction.

PalmerEldritch said...

w00t! back from another day at comic-con. it's a freakin' blast. lots of celebrities today.

today, i saw the Bionic Woman panel, the TV Guide panel, the Heroes panel, and
the Battlestar Galactica panel.

getting into the Heroes panel took lining up (and the line went OUTSIDE the building) at 9:20 or so and then sitting through the two (or three?) panels beforehand. freakin' DANNY BONADUCE lined up and went to the Bionic Woman panel. he sat in the audience and waited til the Heroes panel to ask a (good) question that i promptly forgot. saw Ando walking around the TV guide panel before the Heroes panel. saw tons of famous people at panels. also got to interact with a couple of nerd celebrities.

while Clif, Ben, myself, and my girlfriend were trying to get into the Futurama panel, freakin' WIL WHEATON was walking around with his stepson so i said Wil Wheaton too loudly and he came over. so we talked for a bit, mostly about his love of Fark.com and i mentioned that i had seen him in a snake movie. he interrupted with "you saw that? i'm sorry. hold on. maybe this will help make it up to you," and gave me a quarter in compensation for watching the crappy movie.

later, ralph got Wil Wheaton's autograph on his Toy Soldiers dvd sleeve. yes, apparently, it was Wil Wheaton Day at Comic-Con.

also got my picture with Cliff Simon (stargate) and got three autographs from Steve Purcell (the Sam & Max guy).

oh! the greatest bit (besides Wil Wheaton and his quarter of compensation) was talking to comic book legend Neal Adams. he's this guy. after a rocky start trying to talk to him about the Nasonex commercials that he directs, i mentioned his expanding Earth theory and he went on explaining it to me and the lady friend for a good twenty five minutes. just pleased as punch to talk about it and rail against Pangea and the Big Bang. he seems like a nice guy and a smart one but he sure doesn't like subduction and the big bang. spontaneous generation of matter in the earth's core to cause the earth to expand for Neal Adams, please.

the exhibition hall is a blast when its not super crowded. where else can you find out that Steve Purcell will sign anything you put in front of him?

Stephanie said...

P, if only one of us could go, glad it was you. Thanks for the daily recap. Sounds like a blast. Tell your girlfriend thanks from us for putting up with ComicCon. Bless her heart.
So, no Futurama panel? If so, elaborate.

PalmerEldritch said...

oh! yeah, so, i had actually been holding four seats in the futurama panel which was directly after the Battlestar panel. everyone else lined up outside the building. when the whole place started filling up with no sign of them, we decided that they weren't going to be let in and i shouldn't save seats for them. so, i left and got in line with them, hoping that there'd be four seats open. we got to the front of the line just as they closed the door to the panel. then i saw wil wheaton and while i was talking to him, ben got let in as the LAST person allowed in the panel. which means that the dude got my seat. funny stuff.

today is the 4400 panel but apparently all the main characters went on vacation. so it looks like we'll get Ira S Behr (famed scifi tv writer and producer) and Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun from DS9, Dr. West from Re-Animator, and Kevin from the 4400) in that panel.

hopefully, tonight or tomorrow, we'll hit up the Zoo again. and Sea World. and the Wild Animal Kingdom or whatever its called.

what're the latest theories on the Orchid video and the Casimir effect and all that?

oh. and don't be mad at Ralph about the Michael spoilers cuz it will be EVERYWHERE this summer. all the tv magazines are bound to mention it and it had already been all over the internet. and announced by the studio at some event.

Anonymous said...

memphish said...

Colleen and Ralph with the Jay and Jack panel board. Cool.

Palmer, the Orchid video has been deemed canon for the time being at least because ABC put a "clean" version of it on their website.

As for the Casimir effect, it's over my head, but the general consensus is that it could be tied to the Island being/having a wormhole. There's also issues with traveling faster than the speed of light creating Bunny #15--the sequel. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about it. Of course, given that we've got until Feb. to talk about it, maybe someone will come up with a "Casimir Effect and How It Applies to LOST for Dummies" between now and then.

Ralph, the myspace pics are great, I'm looking foward to seeing more. I hope that you guys didn't wear the same Dharmalars shirt the entire convention.

Don't bash Mr. Anonymous. He lives in a cave with no internet, TV, radio, or newspaper. He only comes out once a month to listen to the Dharmalars, and you go ahead and spoil the Lost Panel for him. Not like you went and labeled the podcast 'Lost Panel 2007' or anything. Oh, wait a minute...

At long last, I've finished up with all of the X-Files. Hey, big surprise, the finale sucked. But double hey, Michael Emerson was in the next-to-last episode. He played this creepy little guy (hmmm, what a stretch) with psychic powers. Who used them to create the Brady Bunch. But anyway, now I'm finally going to start watching Arrested Development. Hopefully I'll get through the first disk by next week sometime, and I'll start to actually get some of the AD jokes that are always posted up here (takes me a looong time to go through TV shows ... 7 years to get through all 9 seasons of The X-Files). Predicted Netflix rating: 4.5 stars.

As I was waking up just now, I had a epiphany regarding the Casimir Effect. The wreckage of Flight 815 WAS recovered. There were no survivors. This was the original plane.

Stephanie said...

anon, I have much to say about that. Casey Affleck is the most underrated actor in Hollywood. Burt Reynolds should have been number one. Is anyone really asking "Who is Sam Elliott?" I doubt it.
ghostwatch, like I said before, I'll be at Blockbuster at 10am to get Hot Fuzz. I won't be left empty handed like I was the day Black Snake Moan was released. Every once in a while these people around here catch me off guard. I think they have no taste, and then they grab all the copies of some decent movie.

Anonymous said...

good luck with Hot Fuzz.

the 'staches link is great - there's some choice ones in Tombstone, notably Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday. also the Clouseau moustache is legendary.

as far as the Casimir effect is concerned - I read a bit about it and it's way over my head. if there were 2 planes I'll be happy with that.

memphish said...

My only gripe with the 'stache list would be Anthony Edwards. To me, not that memorable, especially since it expires 1/2 way through the movie. Sam Elliot's 'stache and voice, legenderay. He narrates the beef commercials among other things Steph.

Looking forward to checking out Producer Ryan's collection of Con stuff. Thanks Ryan for the post here earlier this week. Us peeps left behind on the blogspot needed a little blog love.

Holli

Trevor McFur said...

I think that Anthony Edwards' stache is well-deserving of a place on the list. I do have a problem with Colin Farrell's Miami Vice stace being not only on the list, but Number 2!!!! I think that the memorablilty of the movie should have to go into the equation, and no one's gonna remember that stinker. I also have issue with the teacher from Kill Bill being Number 1 ... I would argue that's more of a beard.

To all the Conners, I am very jealous of you. That would have been an excellent way to spend my birthday. Instead I had to go to a bachelor party.

The pics are priceless. The shirts look even better in groups. Viva la Dharmalarmy!

Guess who's also back?? OMG what a horrible day! I've been up since 10am (Sunday), it's now 2:45pm (Monday)!! My flight back from NYC was cancelled :(

At least I have the Dharmalars!!

[ally] said...

That sucks, Kim! I hope that you get some much needed rest... PRONTO!

Mattastic, Happy (very much belated, i'm sure) Birthday!

To the Comic Con Dharmalarmy, get some rest too. Although it was fun, I'm sure y'all are very tired.

Steph, how is the Morganpalooza going? I'm sure it was a very busy weekend for ya.

Stephanie said...

Ally, been going non-stop since 7am. Got the pool cleaned as well as the house. Nanna came over to clean Morgan's room. Spece has to be made for the new load of presents that won't be played with. Dad is replacing the pool steps and mowing the grass. The girls are coming tomorrow afternoon for the swim party. Morgan has a waterballoon fight planned. I'm trying to decide if I want to get the ice cream tonight or wait until in the morning. I'm trying to fit in Friday's Doctor Who while shelling peas for dinner. Anyone want any tomatoes? For the first time in my life, I'm sick of them. Do't know when I'll get to The 4400.

Steph - seeing as you are crazy busy - please ignore my question on the SAS boards re: Doctor Who for now -
I don't want to add more to your plate - lol. sounds like you're being a multi-tasking stud.

Welcome back Kim! Was that your Britain trip? Wait - nix that question - go sleep first, sorry - lol

[ally] said...

Wow, Steph, it sounds like you have your hands full. I hope everything turns out alright. I'm sure the kids will have an awesome time no matter what. I'd forgotten how much fun water balloons can be, especially with as hot as it gets down here.

A new low in ED Advertising.

I've heard a lot about these boards - had no luck finding the sods. As I'm on a late one, it could help pass the midnight-2am blues.

Was Kim in the UK? If so Elias and I were certainly remiss in our ambassadorial duties. I'm sure you found your way around just fine.

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

Never mind - found it.

When Holli mentioned ED advertising, I was hoping she meant Errested Development.

t-dot kim said...

No, NYC was for a wedding. I'll be in the the UK Aug 22nd - Aug 31st. What a busy bee I am this summer. ;)

I'm listening to the Dharmalars now!!! YEAHHH!! Palmer, did you speak any french??

Steph--sounds like you have one heck of a party going on!!! I suggest getting the ice cream tonight. (One less thing for you to do tomorrow)

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

I speak French as well an any Englishman!

Mais-oui! Zut alors! Mon petit chou-chou! Qapla! Mazel-Tof. Paf! etc!

Ou est le Docteur Qui?
Docteur Qui est au lit la TARDIS.

Or is that "Tardisse"?

Johnny Ghostwatch said...

Sod it - while I'm an a roll (although I'm really relying on someone else's French at this point):

DOCTEUR QUI

C'est lui, dans la nuit... Docteur Qui.
Il voyage dans le TARDIS,
La boite de telephone,
Fantastique d'espace.

Demi-Dalek? Ou demi-homme?
Je ne sais pas! C'est incroyable!

Exterminez vous! Exterminez vous!Exterminez vous encore!

Le Docteur gagner. Il rit! ("a ha ha")
Je gagner, parce que, je suis... Docteur Qui.

DAVROS

That was my thinking, Kim. But I had to re-clean the pool. Here is a bit of advice to all at the blogspot. Unless you can afford someone to clean it for you, don't consider a pool. My back hurts. I want to cry.

memphish said...

Poor Steph. Hang in there and you will have survived Morganpalooza 9. Don't forget, little girls care a lot less than you do if the pool is spotless.

Kim, hope you are well rested this morning.

Jordan, ED/AD -- do you have the same problem with effect and affect? :)

Comic Con attendees, let us know when you post more pictures.

Memories of a sweet and short 5-month hiatus last year...
Just found Aimee's audio/video tribute to SAS on YouTube - where she calls out the Podfathers (and Ralph and Ben and Jimmy) last summer to record something - good stuff.

Nice "tibute." Someone needs to make one of those for TLI and Seattle Jimmy.

Ally, I don't know what to say about the party. It started at 11am and will go on through tomorrow. BF #1 broke hand- couldn't come. BF #2 sick with cold- couldn't come. Cousin which is 12 years and idolized by Morgan made other plans- broke her heart. I am mad at her mother. Friend #3 in Orlando-couldn't come. we made the best with 2 girls. Broke-hand friend may come later and spend the night. Will go shopping tomorrow and spend birthday money.
Wow. Good thing Ralph- and Ben realize they aren't actors.

Wow Steph, that really sucks that the friends couldn't make it. Hopefully the shopping will cheer up Morgan. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Nothing more frustrating than putting the effort into a party and have people cancel at the last minute - Broken hand?!? Feh! Sick with Cold?!? Why When I was a kid we used to hike to birthday parties uphill...both ways...in the snow....

this isn't helping is it
