Fuck me, is it Wednesday already?

Hee! That picture makes me giggle.

And yes, Jelly, it is. ;-) Thursday for me actually.

Tim, that's a good thing. I expected this hiatus to move rather slowly, but it's been over a month already.

Today is Wednesday #5 of 12, so we're already almost at the half-way point!

Winter hiatuses are never that bad because the holidays are so busy and distracting; time just flies.

Whoops. I was still logged in. My bad. That was me up there ^

where is the picture of Jack and Locke from?

- SadAce

aimee in little rock said...

That is from episode 1x05 "White Rabbit". Jack was dangling from the cliff after chasing (the hallucination of) his dad, and Locke pulls him back up.

...this "hallucination" theory may be up for grabs now after 3x05 when the black smoke allegedly masks itself as a "hallucination" of Yemi.

where the fuck is the episode that ralph had promised? The Lost Inititiative strikes again. or should i say, doesnt strike again?

Ralph- said...

something is up with the feed. the episode is complete, but am having some trouble uploading it onto iTunes. give me a little bit to get it up.

aimee in little rock said...

Ralph is having trouble getting it up. LOL.

Some other Mr. Anonymous is cranky today.

aimee in little rock said...

We get that a lot around here. People who post hate on the blog shouldn't be afraid to say who they are. I know it takes a few extra keystrokes to type your name, but whatever.

Mike Campbell said...

Yeah what the crap is up with the feed. I never liked the feed anyway. Kinda a jerk.

I am sure Ralph will get it up soon. It just takes time.

Wesh said...

Time and blue pills. They do the trick. That's what my granpa always says, bless him.

Mr Anonymous' crankiness crosses podcasting borders without even breaking a sweat.
Give people a break dude. it's not like their job to bring us podcasts. Anything they do bring should be appreciated as is.

Wesh said...

Locke loox really satisfied and totally wasted, Jack is totally cracking up at "the size" :D

aimee in little rock said...

Maybe Locke was having the same problem as Ralph.

Otis Redding, who sang These Arms of Mine which was featured in SOS, was killed in a plane crash. Did anyone else know this? Who else was killed in a plane crash? Patsy Cline
Anyone else?

aimee in little rock said...

Musicians that died in plane crashes: Aaliyah, John Denver, Dean Martin's Son Dean Martin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jim Croce, Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Clark, and Glenn Miller (whose song "Moonlight Serenade" appears on Lost twice - on the beach radio and in Jack's car).

Mike Campbell said...

Thats what American Pie is about. The song not the movie. That silly plane crash.

Ralph- said...

... don't forget Charlie Pace

That was bad Ralph

Hey SaS-ers...

Just wanted to let you guys know about my "Lost - Close Encounter" at work on Monday (I work at ESPN):

Matthew Fox and Matthew McConaughey were doing some promotions for "We are Marshall", so they came to ESPN to do some interviews and stuff... I didn't try to talk to them because they were very busy, and I didn't want to be a weirdo... But I watched the closed-circuit feed of them taping their segments for various shows, and I was surprised at how many times they fumbled their lines and had to start over again. McConaughey got a little testy after about 5 takes, and when he finally got one he walked off the set like he had just won the Super Bowl... Foxy also blew some lines, but he was more self-depricating about it.

They travelled with quite an entourage too... maybe 20 poeple between them, but it was probably movie studio-related and not their personal lackies.

They seemed like good guys though... we had about 6 or 8 hours of stuff planned for them, and we tried to pack it in to about 4 hours of studio time, but they got to everything...

If anyone happens to catch SportsCenter's year-end special called "Top Ten Games", the last segment is about the Rose Bowl between USC and Texas... McConaughey does the lead-in for that game and the video that is running behind him when he is talking was cut by... ME.

Does that make me famous?
Jeez, I'm pathetic.

aimee in little rock said...

You how many dorks on this blog are going to try and watch that thing now, just to try and see whatever it is you just said. Well, at least one dork. Hahaha. Just kidding.

But I might try to see Matthew Fox, because I still don't quite understand what he was doing in this Monday Night Football promo I saw a few months ago. I thought he was on a show called Lost.

Hollerin' Holly said...

I am a little behind, but I just finished taking my walk down memory lane with the SAS. It was also a reminder of how Lost seems to be moving so slow!!! Its almost as though the writers are waiting for Dylan to be back from the navy.

Aimme- I know its not Lost material, but did you ever read any Chuck Norris novels as part of your SAS reading list?

Joe said...

Hey Aimee,
ABC and ESPN are both owned by Disney, so we try to capitalize on cross-promotion whenever we get the chance... someone I work with actually tried to get advance copies of Lost episodes from ABC under the guise of "market research in common demographics" but he couldn't get it done.

Would have been cooler if he did.

aimee in little rock said...

Officially, I only read the books that appear or are referenced on the show. One of Chuck Norris' literary efforts would have to be either on screen (i.e. Sawyer reading it on the beach) or be referred to in context in order for it to qualify.

I've been reading a lot of non-Lost books since, well, there aren't any left that I haven't already read. I'm hoping that 3x07 will give me at least one new one.

Joe, thanks for the explanation. I should have figured it had something to do with corporate greed. Good old Disney, right Ralph?

Mike Campbell said...

Aimee - Did you finish the Harry Potter books. Cause i would love to have some theory rants with you about the 7th book!

And i reach a new low :)

stephsmith said...

I've always wondered how much celebrities are paid for appearances such as that. Or is it included in their pay from the movie and they are just expected to do media? Does Leno pay better than Letterman? These are things I think about.

Joe said...

Cindy just showed up on the "Lost Moment"... Jack was yelling at her for no reason...

It was awesome.

stephsmith said...

I read a post today by someone that knows her and said she just got back from Hawaii. So, there's hope for the rest of those loose ends that we thought would never be tied up.

Mike Campbell said...

Yeah the return of Cindy. Thats cool they put it in the Lost Moment. I heard ABC is cancelling Daybreak. Thats a bummer i kinda like it

Hey Joe...that's crazy man.
You probably won't believe me, but I work at ESPN too.
I'm off Mondays, so a friend of mine who was at work and who also saw Matthew Fox, texted me at home to let me know.
I'm a graphic designer up in the C.A.G.E. on the third floor of the DC. I probably know you from work, or have probably seen you around. What do you do at ESPN? That's f---ing crazy.

Also about the Matthew Fox visit to Bristol, I heard a bunch of ladies were waiting outside of the studios for the guys to come out. Did they do a SC commercial shoot while the two guys were there like they do with lots of the celebrities when they come to Bristol? I hope so, that would be cool. Too bad I missed them coming by.

Let me know...

Scottandsteve, bring people who are close together, closer. It's like You Got Mail!

It's Thursday today, but it feels like a week since i wrote 'fuck me, is it wednesday already'. That does not bode well for the rest of the year. It's been a weird year and i just want it to be over, so i can get on with the new year. It's been so long since anything good happened. Still, 55 days 10 hours and 10 minutes to go....

(the melancholy bit there was supposed to be a precursor to the fact i was pining after Lost, i'm not actually that depressed!)

What happened to the mobisodes that were supposed to fill the gap? Did they figure out that it was actually a shite idea after all?

aimee in little rock said...

Mike, I read all of the Harry Potters for my own purposes (even though officially I only needed to read 1 & 3). I anxiously await the final installment's arrival next year. As far as theories are concerned, Snape and Dumbledore were in on it together; when Dumbledore found out that Snape made the idiotic unbreakable vow thingie to help Malfoy, Dumbledore decided to sacrifice himself, so Snape could still live.

I gave up on watching Day Break, and they finally have a Lost Moment worth seeing...bastards. I'll check out YouTube when I get home.

SadAce + Joe = awwwww.

I'm watching the Golden Globe nomination on E! right now...

They're talking about Lost and how they need to get some attention and stuff. Maybe Desmond & Henry Gale will save Lost's ass. We'll see...

aimee in little rock said...

HOLY SHIT! Evangeline Lilly got a best actress nomination for a drama series!!!

aimee in little rock said...

Heroes & Lost...best drama series!!

Mike Campbell said...

Aimee - was 24 nominated was Best Drama, cause last season was so amazing. I don't want every to hate me but i love that show too :)

GRADUATION TODAY!!!! If everyone would jump up and down for me at 12:30 pm est :)

Sunloc said...

i just saw the lost moment with Claire all i have to boone was right

aimee in little rock said...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard 24 get called in there several times.

I've read all of those mini-Lost books. (Secret Identity, Endangered Species, and Signs of Life). They were all pretty lame, but fun to read. Signs of Life was the more interesting and well written one. They followed the same format as the show - each chapter alternated between island scenes and flashback scenes, and would conveniently reference things from season 1 so we'd find it all more believable.

Sunloc said...

that lost moment with jack and cindy is a dream. aimee even in the books there steve king in Signs of Life there a talisman and there a cave might be with the polar bear was livin.

Wesh said...

these "lost moments" sound kinda spoilerish. I would've liked to be surprized by Cindy's appearance. oh well.

Thx for the Golden Globe update Aimee! That's good news for Lost!
I like 24 too, so yeah, go 24! Hope next season will be the awesomest!

Hey SadAce...

That is effing crazy... I was just up in the C.A.G.E. the other day - I had to go over some IMS images with Dan Leone and I had to check on a graphics package with Carol Boyle... And I work with Lucas on SportsCenter from time to time... Do you know them?

Fox and McConaughey didn't shoot one of those commercials... but they did just about every studio show we have as well as some stand-ups for various other projects... and yeah, the majority of females that I work with were fussing around like teeny boppers at a Tiger Beat photo shoot... it was funny.

Oh yeah, what's your real name? Or does it say SadAce on your badge?

Anonymous said...

hey Joe...yup know all those people all right. Real name is Scott (using that on Scott and Steve might get confusing), I work day shifts at the opposite end of the C.A.G.E.
That's funny.
