Two Weeks Left

For those of you that can't wait for Season 3 to start up, here is a clip that ABC put out that involves Sawyer trapped in a cage.

why the name, Carl? is it a nickname?

Jeff, aka Peconic Jeff said...

"Carl" or "Karl" doesn't look like anyone we've seen before... he looks to be about 18... (to me at least)

Jimmy said...

Hmmm...

So Sawyer is trapped in a primate research experiment, with a late teenager?

Have you ever heard that many birds before on Lost?

Interesting...

Ralph- said...

maybe they are in a wildlife preserve.
i have a feeling that it is a polar bear cage.

Jimmy said...

Ralph,

yes, it could be the bear cage. My reasonings for a primate are as follows:

It looked like an ape cage

No water tank (visible)

A knife and fork on the "food" button? I don't know...just speculating. I can't imagine they's gave a knife and fork on a bears food button.

Then there's all that stuff about "Joop" from the Lost Experience.

Who knows at this point. I will say though, that I am sure everyone has gotten all excited about this. The problem for me was that it just didn't seem that much of a compelling scene.

I imagine Kate, Jack, Sawyer will all be thrown into an experimental cage or setting, and that each will have another resident in the experiment...so 3 new characters (Carl being one of them). The chick from Species will be the one Jack gets.

Just my 2 cents.

Mike Campbell said...

I am sure its just some sort of dharma cage for their "research"

Is anyone else sick of Dharma and their hatches?

I think the scene will be better with the whole picture. Of all the scenes they could have put out they could have done something a bit more exciting.

Jimmy said...

Agreed, Mike,

It didn't seem to grab me one single bit. Sort of "Oh...obviously another run down experiment". And having the other guy there was a sort of tease...but with no interest.

All that said, once the show rolls, the scenes are together, the music gets going, we will all have our teeth back into it.

Jimmy said...

And while I'm at it. Word is out that there wil be resolutions regarding Suns pregnancy. I think along the lines of paternity.

Is anyone as bored with that idea as I am?

aimee is lost said...

Jimmy, I am. It's probably going to be one of those extended dramatic things where it all goes up in the air back and forth for a while (Is it Jin's? Is it Jin's?), making us doubt it a whole bunch of times, only to find out it actually IS Jin's baby.

It's the same back-and-forth motion that has absolutely no payoff and results in exactly what we already know - just like the unnecessarily long saga of Charlie and Claire (where we all knew she'd eventually forgive him).

I'd like to take the logical approach with K/Carl and say he is one of the kidnapped tailies. Who else would he be?

The only other (ha, ha, 'other') person he could be is a planted mole, like the way Ana-Lucia dropped herself in the pit with the 3 amigos.

Jimmy said...

Of course, Aimee....

Captured tailies. Maybe Jack is getting locked up with Cindy?

I also hope, for the record, that we aren't going to get into the Rose and Bernard "Bickering because they love each other" routine. I hate that. It's cliche, and I find it to be uncomfortable. Cut the dude some slack!

JP

Mike Campbell said...

i am going to be pissed if its not Jin's baby and not because i am viva la Jin, which i am.

I hate when movies or shows don't show you everything thats going on. Like the end of Ocean's 12 when they were like "HA HA we were just acting and knew everything was a trap." The only way i will not be mad if it is that hotel's son dude that taught her english. Wayne Brady might have to choke a bitch if its michael's baby. I don't know if i would be pissed about it aimee if they jerked us around for awhile with the "whos is it angle" cause i think we are all expecting it

aimee is lost said...

But don't they KNOW we're expecting it? And isn't it their duty and tradition to do the exact opposite of what we expect?

aimee is lost said...

Aimee's going to have to choke a bitch if they don't start paying off on some of their promises.

Need I remind you Jimmy...

"THERE'S A NEW SHERRIFF IN TOWN!"

Mike Campbell said...

I would pay money to see aimee choke a bitch.

we might have to give up on the SHERRIFF. oh no wait! Sawyer got kidnapped again kinda. So wehn he gets back everyone will like him. So there will be an episode called "The Longest Con" Where he tricks everyone and proclaims that there is a peace keeping task force in town. Or something more clever.

Ralph- said...

i am an idiot. i need to sharpen my skills before i get back in the game. of course you need water for polar bears. jeez. WOW. okay. here we go.

It seems strange that they would take sawyer to a cage unatended. it is odd that they would go through all the effort just to throw him in a cage.

ooh!

Okay. so they grabbed all the main influences on the island, except for Locke. I think that they dont want Jack Kate and Sawyer as much as they want Locke to control the survivors. the "Good Guys" dont have enough people to control all the survivors, but locke has the influence to guide them all. So, they take out the kinks in the chain, and allow for Locke to get everyone to believe in the island. once everyone is on the same page as the very influencial John Locke, than the "good guys" can come in and manipulate all of the survivors. But this means that the "good guys" have underestimated The Inteligence Officer and the Korean Hitman!

i have a feeling that once John Locke realizes that he has been manipulated, that he is going to go apeshit, when he notices that The Good Guys are telling him what he can and can't do.

YESSSSS!

Benjamin said...

That's why he's my podcast partner. Because he's a genius. Also, because he asked me if I'd do a podcast with him.

Anonymous said...

Could it be a reference to Karl Pilkington? OOOOh Chimpanzee That! They live in cages sometimes...

aimee is lost said...

I can't believe I went a whole day at work without blogging on this thing - I was THAT busy...

Kablamo to Ralph for his genius theory; I think that could definitely be the way back to "the old Locke" we all loved and miss terribly.

Mike, I would happily choke a bitch free of charge; all you'd have to do is provide the bitch.

By the way, where the hell are Craig, Ryan, and Dylan?

Ralph- said...

craig hates us. he sent me an email saying that Dharmalars sucks and everyone involved with podcasting sucks and the community is a goddam joke. he didnt say any of that, but i figured i would give it a shot just to see if he was still reading. does anyone know if dylan made it back to OK okay?

Mike Campbell said...

Aimee is ditching us for work, Craig declaired War on us. Its all going to Heck...

Did anyone see Jerico? It was pritty good. Oh wait silly time zones. so it hasn't aired there. So i will not say anything more. But it was cool

aimee is lost said...

I know Dylan made it to Little Rock because his MySpace profile pic was taken in my house!

The last word I received about Craig & Dylan though was from Craig's girlfriend, who said she got ditched at home last weekend while Craig & Dylan went to Flaming Lips concert. So at least we know they're out and about...

Ralph- said...

maybe they are all depressed about the Oklahoma/Oregon game. maybe they are all sitting at home wearing the same pajamas that they were wearing 3 days ago, without showering or brushing their teeth. i hope that they are eating and not just laying on the floor of the bathroom asking "why?".
snap out of it Oklahoma, everything is going to turn out alright for the Sooners.

Maybe they are celebrating because Entourage got signed for a 4th season. And thats not the 8 episodes they are saving to air with the Sopranos!!!

Aimee,

Don't mention what i just emailed you - it's a matter of international security....

aimee is lost said...

Oh come on Tim, that's insane!

Anonymous said...

Oh, come on what? The story or the international security thing?

Scott and Steve said...

It's the Oregon game, it's got me so heated!!!

Jimmy said...

Back after a day with Kiddo :)

Ralph...your Season 3 analysis is basically fucking wonderful!
I think you may be onto a nice story arc right there.

Speaking of analysis...back to the real job!

aimee is lost said...

I'm up to my ass in analysis as well Jimmy, so I feel your pain..I'm only posting here because I need a freaking break.

Sorry about the Oregon game, whoever you are (Craig, maybe Dylan? Probably Craig though) But it's nice to know you're still alive, and that Jonathan Bluestone hasn't actually kidnapped you.

I know what'll make you feel better....watching the season premiere of The Office tonight. I'm sure Dwight Schrute (or as I like to call him, "Dwide...Shrood") will be on his worst behavior.

Jimmy said...

I never feel quite so alone knowing Aimee is an analyst too :)

Oh yes...the Office Premiere. Must catch that!

I've been into a few more shows lately...nothihg like Lost though, but all the same. I noticed on the Daily show they did a Re-Cap of Steven vs Steven (or something to that effect). It's great to see both Steve Carrell and Steven Colbert working together a few years ago. I wondered even if they were hinting in a way that they might bring therm back?

And actually...here it is :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CSUwyQ-AK0

Well worth a look, I think.

Mike Campbell said...

i loved them on the daily show. I wish they would do a return and maybe debate whos show is better. It would be funny/

aimee is lost said...

Sorry Tim, I never answered your question.

Both the story and the international security thing are insane. Do you honestly believe that anything beginning with the word Jonathan and ending with the word Bluestone could result in anything even remotely sane?

This is the same person who claimed someone broke into his home for no apparent reason, other than to stab his pet rat with a #2 pencil.

Mike Campbell said...

aimee - i sware to bob i was listening to that line as i read your message. that poor rat

Hey Mike, my Lost Puzzle arrived today. I just unpacked it, and I'm laying it out on the dining room table, it's going to be so hard! But, the hidden clue is on the BACK of the puzzle!

The back of the puzzle is white, and there's this faint, yellow, script written all over it. When you put the puzzle together, I'm assuming you'll have to flip the puzzle over and read some type of spoiler message. I hope it's something semi-cool.

Mike Campbell said...

Sweet i ordered mine yesterday. I am going to have people in my suite helping me so maybe we will get it done a week or two after you :)

aimee is lost said...

My husband said he'll help me, but since you have a whole "suite" of people, you'll probably finish first!!

Which one did you order? We still need two more people to get the other ones. Not the "other" one, I got that one!

aimee is lost said...

Dammit my neck is f'ing sore now. I finished the border of the puzzle (because let's face it, it's the easiest and most fun part).

There's some little image of TomZeke in here that I don't know if we've seen before; he's sitting on what looks like a dock or something. Might be something cut from the finale, I don't know...we'll see!

Mike Campbell said...

i got the numbers

Did everyone watch the office? It was amazing tonight. I laughed so hard

Ralph- said...

i think that the whole J>B> situations needs to be put to rest. i have a feeling that craig and dylan and ryan might actually fear for their lives. so they put an end to his story telling.

aimee is lost said...

Yes Mike, I watched it, and it was wonderful! It was sort of cheesy of NBC to insert a gay character into their lineup now that Will & Grace is gone, but I doubt he's going to gay up the show like Jack or Will did.

P.S. I heart Dwight.

aimee is lost said...

Ralph, that's a shame.

Mike Campbell said...

Well they always made hints that he was gay. I don't think the fact that he is out now will make him like jack.

They said Ed Helms would be on the office for 8 episodes. So does that mean Jim will be back in Scranton 8 shows into the season, we can only hope!

aimee is lost said...

I hope so Mike! That kissing scene was some of the funniest shit I've ever seen on television.

Does this mean that Ryan Howard got promoted from intern to Jim's position since he was sitting at Jim's desk?

Will there be some kind of power struggle when Jim decides to move back?

This is going to be a fun season at The Office!

Ralph- said...

Jim "The Tuna-Temp" Halpert!

Just wait until you see Extras. First series is probably available in the US, second series is on here now. It's...fucking......genius.

aimee is lost said...

Was anyone watching The Office webisodes? I just caught the final one; it was beautiful.

Benjamin said...

Extras was outstanding. Kate Winslet is the best. I watched the Office last night and I was cringing so bad (like you do when you watch that brilliant experiment in being uncomfortable) and I found myself asking, "Why was I so stoked this show was back!?"

I also watched Earl, which helps make that the funniest hour on TV. Oh man, that Jaime Pressley is hilarious.

Maybe I'll get one of these puzzles. What's the website?

aimee is lost said...

Ben, that would be awesome if you did one of the other puzzles! You get them right from the ABC Shop.

Here's a direct link to the one that we don't have yet (I've got "The Others" and Mike has "Numbers", so if you get one, get "The Hatch".)

http://abctvstore.seenon.com/detail.php?p=11237

There's a fourth one, but it's not available yet, or at least not up at the store.

Mike Campbell said...

Tim - I downloaded the first episode of of the second series. Extras is so funny i can't wait for the other five. It was the first time in history i liked Orlando Bloom

Anonymous said...

Just wait Mike, the depth that Ricky Gervais gives the Andy Millman character is just unbelievable, i was literally crying with laughter and felt genuinely sorry for him all at the same time. Sounds cliche, but it's done in such a beautiful way. The second episode has David Bowie in it, and i never realised how good a singer he was! So soulful...enjoy people - tv like this only comes around every so often.

Benjamin said...

I will order The Hatch puzzle a week from today (payday.) I hope the "spoilers" don't make me too sad.
