Thank You

I'd like to extend a enormous thank you to everyone involved in this community. Your words of encouragement, your interaction, and the fun you provided over the run of one of television's greatest shows has been unparalleled. In this age of snarky, negative internet culture, it's really amazing we were able to communicate and connect over the mutual love of a TV program. Dylan Speed, Ryan Howard, and I all had a blast doing the MYOKOM with SAS podcast and developing relationships with everyone who emailed, called in, and contributed to this blog. Our close friendships with Ralph, Aimee, and Kim are a direct result from the warmth and community-ness atmosphere of this unique world of social connection. I never thought a simple podcast would lead to such a wonderful brethren of like mined, smart, and civil bunch of people actively participating in good natured discourse without the hate and snarkiness of most message board communities. I loved the show "Lost" and I loved every second of participating in the MYOKOM, Dharmalar, and TLI world.

Thanks again, internetica.

Dharamalars TLI and MYOKOMWSAS made me laugh for years.

Craig - thanks so much! Awesome words! The fun you, Dylan and Ryan had recording with each other is going to be something that I, for one, will return and re-listen to repeatedly in the future becuase I am absolutely guaranteed a laugh every time. Thanks!

I would love if someone could upload the entire MYOKOM w/ SAS archive.

The finale with Aimee reminded me how much I loved the show.

Oh, and thanks Craig for an awesome show and being the progenitor of both the Dharmalars and TLI. Lost wouldn't be the same with the three shows and the blogspot.

Agreed, this family of podcasts (was too late for MYOKOM but got in proper early with TLI and expanded to include the Dharmalars) was a quick introduction to the world of the non-professionalfan podcast, coasting solely on the shared love of a television programme and it was a wonderful thing and surely as a DIRECT result I am also a podcaster.

Fuck, if you listen to the show I do even though it's about a very different programme you'd probably wonder why the Dharmalars and TLI haven't sued me for attempted style infringement.

Great stuff, and it's been a pleasure being a listener, not a task.

Agreed Steph!

Craig, Dylan, Aimee, Kim, Ralph, Ben & Ryan... THANK YOU!

Between the podcasts and blogspot, you guys have provided me with even more entertainment than the show itself.

I've never seen a group of people that are so socially and geographically diverse, but "get" each other so well.

In the words of Roger Clyne...

Is it true it's always Happy Hour here?
If it is I'd like to stay awhile.
Well as cliche as it may sound
I'd like to raise another round.
And if your bottle's empty,
Help yourself to mine.
Thank you for your time
And here's to life!

Thank you all and Namaste!

Much love back atcha!

The Dharmalars have recorded their final episode ever. We were lucky enough to be joined by Jorge Garcia (geronimo jack's beard podcast). The recording went about 2 hours long and there is a lot of phone calls to put in. I am thinking it will be close to three hours. Not bad.

Thanks to everyone who called in. If you haven't had a chance to do so call the Dharmaline @ (206)666-2171

3 hours? SWEEEEEET Ralph!

Are you able to use the mp3 I sent you?

thank you guys for doing this. I have very fond memories of myokom w/sas and i would very much appreciate it if craig and dylan could comb your hard drives and dig up all the old episodes for posting. some of my friends are watching the first two seasons and we need to hear those episodes again! I've listened to the jonathan bluestone episode more times than I can count!

2 and 1/2 hours of the show was Dre's call.

no, seriously, thanks go out to Craig, Dylan, and Ryan for forming the anchor for this community. you set the tone for the rest of us and gave us a place where it was OK to obsess about LOST without being too serious about it. lighthearted obsession, i guess.

thanks, guys. thuys!

and, the rest of you, craig has a good point. i've said it before but you all, podcasters and posters alike, have helped make LOST a better experience for me. sometimes it's fun to theorize and obsess, and sometimes its fun to poke fun at the show and at ourselves. this has been the best place to do both and its fantastic that i now have friends all over the world. whether just through internet postings, twitter, and e-mails like some of you or through actually running into each other at comic-con and enjoying burger day.

oh. and whatever happened to the Chins book? i know Alirio got Bruce Campbell's autograph, Bruce and Alirio both went out of their way to get it signed since Bruce couldn't sign non-Darkhorse stuff while doing a Darkhorse event, but that was a couple of years ago. where is it now? it'd be cool to get a JPG or PDF of the SAS posters' autographs and post it up here.

and since i just it on the 15th post, i'll do it on the 16th.

I feel I must say that I frankly love the way we have responded to spam both on here and on the forum over the past few years. Excellent.

KABLAMO!

PalmerEldritch said...

steph, the promo or the episode?

the episode is to establish why Michael kills AnaLucia, right? besides that she was annoying.

Stephanie said...

Oh.

The more reactions to the finale, the angrier I get.
Previously On reaches to explain/defend it.

Thanks for the honorable mention on the MYOKOMWSAS reunion, Craig, Dylan, Aimee.

On a side note, I was the one who tracked down JB (or "Johnny Blue" as we like to call him in Hell) and emailed him about LOST/Sas. I wasn't sure Craig would ever, ever forgive me for that one.

JB was just as odd and eccentric in email form.

I'm working on a MYOKOM w/SaS archive for those that want it. I'm missing some eps, so I'm filling in the holes & will make them available online as soon as possible.

PalmerEldritch said...

aimee, you are awesome. in other words, i want in on that list. :)

let me know which ones you are missing and i can see what i still have in my itunes.

aimee is lost said...

I'll work on that tonight. I need time away from the two boyfriends, and this is a good enough excuse as any.

Just caught in my own love triangle between the bad boy Sawyer (beta Mike) and the doctor (Mike 2.0). I'm as irritated with myself as I have been with Kate.

Editing continues to be a nightmare. Hitting a bunch of snags on the sync. Have to go in. Chop the 2 hour show in 5 minute increments and align each section. Then i have to go in and adjust the volumes on each track as people talk to reduce the echo effect. This is going to take a while to get this thing on track. Once all this is complete i can go actually edit content and drop in the music and the 40-50 phonecalls.

PalmerEldritch said...

quick, aimee. go steal someone's baby. worked for kate.

ralph, that sucks about the editing. how the heck did that happen?

"...I'm filling in the holes...

.....oh...it's too obvious right? never mind.

Steph - i hope our discussion didn't make you hate the finale! That certainly wasn't my intent.

Aimee - I'm sorry the two Mikes is a frustrating situation. I gotta say though that I think it is poetic and makes me smile to think that you're life actually IS mirroring Lost.

"A Tale of Two Aimee's" indeed ;)

mb said...

...AND - thanks for working on that archive - awesome!

Stephanie said...

No. Listening to other podcasts try to defend it has, mb. I hate my internet kept going out. It distracted me from bringing up points that were on my mind. We should have talked more about the strengths of the show. About what we would miss. I'm buying a new router Friday as soon as I get paid. I have one all picked out at Best Buy. I need dependable internet for when the PotentialCast starts recording!
