SERIOUSLY: WHAT THE FUCK?

scrdmnkydst said...

Looks good.

Plymouth Air? Is that the token airline of this season then?

mb said...

A pretty snazzy fake, but a fake nonetheless. The plane crash is from the movie "Knowing", or as I refer to it "BLOWING"

/Disliked the movie - want my $$ back

Wait, why the hell is it in the LOST Trailer??

aimee is lost said...

Hoping to hear back soon from the ABC Media Relations guy. I have no idea what's been going on in the past 2.5 months, or whether or not people are still interested in Lost. But pleased to see the same faces here.

aimee is lost said...

p.s. Lost still makes me cry. Lots.

Ralph- said...

MOTHER EFFER! why is this video on the Hollywood Reporter site, if it is fake?

So now there seem to be people that are saying that Season 6 will be broken up around the Olympics and others who say its all up in the air. IGN does quote Carlton Cuse though - so that must mean something.

mb said...

hey Aimee!

Wow - Ralph and Aimee here at the same time - sweet! :)

Somebody at the Hollywood Reporter apparently needs a refresher course on VETTING source material. Yikes!

scrdmnkydst said...

mb, that news is so last thread. :P

JoeSC said...

Welcome back Aimee!

I miss LOST.

memphish said...

All hail Aimee! Hope all is well.

I guess the good news about LOST and an Olympic hiatus would be an earlier start date in order to end during May sweeps. Damon told Whitney at USA Today this week he didn't know what date/time LOST would get, especially the 2-hour premier. The "problem" is Modern Family/Cougar Town's success. Eastwick on Wed. at 10 is sucking so I think they should do Wed. at 10 with just one week to 2 hour premier pre-empting the comedies.

Ralph- said...

May sweeps won't really matter, since LOST won't be around anymore anyway, right? i guess it will be good for ABC. I dont know how sweeps work.

memphish said...

But LOST's finale will be prime sell ad time, especially during sweeps.

Don't you guys remember when we got punked by that fake promo like 4 months ago?

One of the funniest things I've seen on tv in a while.

JonFromNKY said...

Anyone else watch BSG: The Plan yet?

Chris JC said...

Had a bit of season 3 Giacchino pop up in my earphones the other day before going to see Up.

It was quite moving. I was in the supermarket buying stuff to smuggle in to the movie.

Actually, it was Saw VI.

memphish said...

I watched BSG The Plan yesterday. It was ok. The transitions were weird. It felt like a rough cut. I'd also forgotten a lot of the details it covered. It probably would have been helpful to have rewatched early episodes before watching The Plan. I don't regret watching The Plan, but I think my BSG experience could have easily been complete without it.

Check out Morgan insulting internet people on my podcast.

I agree with Holli about The Plan. Have I shared my thoughts here? I can't remember. I was taken out of it several times with editing old Caprica 6 and new Caprica 6 together. Somethings seem contrived. Somethings were interesting. It made me want to start over at the beginning when the show was great.

trick-or-treat, blogspotters!!!!

have a fun halloween. up here in the northern extremities, our town held trick-or-treating last night. not quite sure, but i'm guessing it has something to do with the whole "demon worshippers" thing from the 80s when Tom Hanks was making "Mazes & Monsters" and Al Gore was trying to outlaw Twisted Sister.

the beard has been shaved, the macgyver wig has been prepped, and now it's a mad dash to find all the duct tape, paperclips, and swiss army knives in the house.

or i'm playing Uncharted 2 with only a few hours to go before our first Halloween party. oops.

steph, i've only finished season 2 of Mad Men. can i listen to your Mad Men episode (with Kelly Jo)? or will there be season 3 spoilers?

listening to morgan and steph now.

Oh dear.

Bai Ling has recently bought a $30,000 cat that is half mongrel half cheetah.

my favourite quote is "I sleep naked … She was kissing me, and suddenly, she woke up. She saw my nipple, and oh my God, she went for it!" Bai says, laughing. "If I wasn't fast, my nipple is gone. She thought it was a toy or something."

too. many. jokes.

Chris JC said...

The right way and the wrong way to do Halloween

By which I, of course, mean Hallowe'en with the apostrophe in and everything.

memphish said...

DarkUFO is reporting that LOST may be back Jan 20th! Let the countdown clocks begin.

Jordan said...

Have fun dressing up and acting crazy blogspot!

Stephanie said...

I'm pretty sure you need to be caught up with Mad Men before you listen, p.

Bai Ling has too much money.

It's hard to believe the northern extremities are more demonphobic than the south. We seem to be embracing it more and more each year. Walmart was covered up yesterday evening and the traffic got bad about 5 o'clock. More hayrides than you can shake a stick at.

Kelly Jo said...

Welcome back Aimee!

PalmerEldritch said...

good morning, blogspot. the earth says hello.

PalmerEldritch said...

hey, any ideas on crock pot recipes i could make for a college roommate reunion thanksgiving get together later this month?

Stephanie said...

What course? Entree?

PalmerEldritch said...

anything but a main course.

Stephanie said...

Rotel dip is delish and heartburn-inducing.

PalmerEldritch said...

"rotel" sounds like the place to which scooby doo would bring a prostitute.

Jordan said...

Any tips on the best program to convert AVI video files to ipod friendly formats? Speed is what I'm most concerned with. Need to convert a bunch in a short period of time.

Stephanie said...

I use this.

memphish said...

Don't dis Rotel dip. It is awesome, especially when you make it with sausage. I watched 20 adults gobble it up this weekend. You don't need a crockpot though. You can do it all in the microwave and reheat as necessary.

Holli

scrdmnkydst said...

what the baby jesus is a rotel dip

Kyle from Kentucky said...

that music is epic for the ben turning the wheel scene but not for the Boone Shannon inhaler swap. Shit.

Chris JC said...

Howdy, Kyle!

Stephanie said...

Rotel dip is delish. It's a block of melted velveeta cheese and a can of this. Adding some sort of meat like hamburger or sausage makes it extra yummy. It's so bad for you.

Morgan said...

Jordan, I use this one. It does a pretty good job in a variety of formats, qualities, compressions, etc.

scrdmnkydst said...

i don't even know what velveeta cheese is. I've been to the Wensleydale cheese factory though.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Howdy. I enjoys my hiatuses.

Chris JC said...

Heroes update: looks like they'll be saving money on flying special effects.

Jordan said...

If you've been dumb enough to follow Heroes, you'd know that getting rid of him is a good thing. Cuz for them to try to explain a way to bring him back would end up being the dumbest thing ever. And yes, I realize which show I'm talking about. lol.

Chris JC said...

No, I totally agree.

Chris JC said...

It'd be like bringing Boone back to LOST.

PalmerEldritch said...

i'm a tad scared of velveeta. it's the Sunny D of cheeses. ugh.

now, chocolate covered bacon? delicious! had some this weekend.

just installed the demo for Brutal Legend. a minute into the opening video, pretty great.

scrdmnkydst said...

i see what you did there chris, i see what you did.

I agree, p. This is always a big hit at family get-togethers.

Kelly Jo said...

I'm meh on V so far

JoeSC said...

I actually enjoyed V quite a bit. It shows a lot of promise. Plus, in one episode it has me infinitely more intrigued than anything Flashforward has done thus far!

Really great to see Elizabeth Mitchell again too!

PalmerEldritch said...

V was better than I thought but it could start to stink it up if they're not careful.

Also, the son is an annoying fuckwit.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

i thought it was better than FlashForward so far. FF is pretty good but I'll be honest with ya the main character FBI guy is a one dimensional actor. Boring dude. Elizabeth - awesome. Anna - legs. yes hot alien

PalmerEldritch said...

ah! and, yes, much better than FlashForward so far. Characters are actually interesting!

PalmerEldritch said...

Alien Anna needs to grow her hair out. We should probably take this to the BBS so we can talk about startling* revelations revealed in the premiere without spoiling anyone.

*may not be all that startling

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Well Cane didn't get picked up Nestor was in that. The Unusuals didn't get renewed Harold was in that. Sonya and Dom are in FF idk about the ratings but it's not a great show so far. I hope Elizabeth has better luck than they did or the lost curse might continue. Of course I won't watch any of these shows come January.

Jordan said...

Alien chick was waaaaaaaaay hotter with longer hair in Firefly.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

wow...just fired up the dvr and watched V. nothing will ever be as good as LOST but Vs pilot is fucking epic.

The only negative comments I've seen so far are people saying it is anti-Obama because of the universal healthcare thing. If you can't make your own political decisions without being influenced by tv shows then grow up.

Juliet/Erica/elizabeth is great to.

Stephanie said...

Well said, Kyle.
I LOVED V! I loved everything about it. Great seeing our favorite actors from the best canceled sci-fi shows. Awesome.

scrdmnkydst said...

"Well Cane didn't get picked up Nestor was in that. The Unusuals didn't get renewed Harold was in that. Sonya and Dom are in FF idk about the ratings but it's not a great show so far. I hope Elizabeth has better luck than they did or the lost curse might continue."

You forgot Ian Somerholder. He's in Vampire Diaries which is getting the best ratings for the CW it's had in ages.

scrdmnkydst said...

I also loved V. Some of the CGI was very poor, but other than that, i bloody well loved it.

Kelly Jo said...

Okay as soon as I get home I'm huluing V to see what I missed on my first watch

Stephanie said...

Well, to knit-pick V, the fighting was poorly shot but I don't care. Elizabeth Mitchell and Alan Tukyk- awesome.

memphish said...

I enjoyed V. I like how it built to a crescendo instead of starting with one and fading (FF). I know it's not fair to compare V and FF, but I just can't help it. The acting on V was so far above that on FF. The characters are so much more well-written too. I just hope they maintain the momentum.

Stephanie said...

The only bit of dialog that bothered me was Elizabeth Mitchell telling Alan Tudyk that he rocked. Other than that, the shot of her and the priest (the guy from the 4400) together was lovely. Can't wait til next week!

andrew. said...

- y'all crazy, Anna is a hottie, short hair & all.

Stephanie said...

Morena Baccarin would be beautiful even bald.

Stephanie said...

PalmerEldritch said...

did anyone complain, andrew.? we just said better with longer hair. or more life to her pixie cut, i suppose.

PalmerEldritch said...

also, her being a reptile inside a fleshsuit is sort of a turn off. sort of.

JoeSC said...

Just a thought... Gia II anyone?

Elizabeth Mitchell reprises her role as Linda and the gal who plays Anna takes over for Angelina.

I know this is technically impossible for a number of reasons, but if the gods are listening, YOU WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

JoeSC said...

Oh, did anyone catch "V"'s ratings?

I've never seen NCIS take a beatdown like that! Hopefully the hiatus won't hurt the ratings much.

Jordan said...

Did anyone here watch The Shield? If so, do you know why the heck it was shot in widescreen, yet broadcast in 4:3? Was just starting the series, only to notice that it seemed oddly framed. Then did some research to find out that it aired in 4:3, yet is widescreen on dvd. Makes no sense to me.

Watched V. Can't compare it to FlashForward, as I haven't got around to it yet. But I thought V was alright. Showed some promise. Intriguing pilot. But I agree with Palmer. I'm going to have to see more form it. A lot of stuff that could go either way. Some really goofy lines randomly. Steph mentioned when Elizabeth Mitchell tells the one dude, "you rock". That wasn't the only time that great line was used in the ep. Mitchell's ultra annoying motorcylce riding son said the exact same words to his silly fat friend before they boarded the spaceship. Really? Twice in one ep? Will definitely watch the next couple episodes.

Jordan said...

Big day, eh blogspot?

PalmerEldritch said...

apparently. what's up?

Jordan said...

Obviously not much.

I caught up and watched all of FlashForward. It's not terrible. Somewhat intriguing. I've continued to watch Heroes, so this and V don't seem so bad in comparison. But man do you have to throw logic out the door and embrace coincidence. The worst thing about it by far for me is how all the characters use the term "flash forward" all the time. "In my flash forward..." As if society all got together and deemed it the term that will be used from the moment it all happened.

mb said...

...how all the characters use the term "flash forward" all the time

Amen brotha. I just posted about this on the V thread on the boards. I'm enjoying FF for what it is, but the scripts would improve by about 90% for me if they just stopped repeating the obvious and having the characters say the title of the damn show a few times per episode.

Sorry I'm ranting - I'm sure if I actually went back and paid attention, it isn't that bad - just feels like it after Lost.

memphish said...

Well Flash Forward and/or ABC kept wanting it to be Lost-like, so it's hard to keep from comparing. I was very close to giving up on FF, but tonight's episode roped me back in. I felt like people were finally doing real things in light of the circumstances. Joseph Fiennes still sucks.

Holli

Jordan said...

Both FF and V are trying to be Lost-like. Not sure how people can watch them and not feel that way. And they aren't the only shows to be this way since Lost. How many other 12 character, mystery filled, week to week serials have their been? All trying to capture the Lost magic, and more importantly, rabid fan base. V did a few things that came off Lost-ish and copycatting to me. For example the "V" title at the beginning of the ep. They might as well have used the Lost opening title music while they were at it. And the way they go to commercial with a very similar "woosh" like sound. At this point, "Lost" is more of a genre of type of tv serial than anything. Anyone recall "The Nine"?

PalmerEldritch said...

didnt elizabeth mitchell's first V scene feature her eye opening?

yeah, flashforward was suddenly not horribly sucky. mainly cuz it barely had the FBI boss, the main couple, or the dude from Coupling.

PalmerEldritch said...

so, when does Gentlemen Broncos come out?

PalmerEldritch said...

and who has their PS3 Netflix dvd?

Jordan said...

Not I. Although my account is currently suspended. Was still able to put in the disc request though. Have people started getting them?

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah... so... uh, whats up?

Stephanie said...

Oh, nothing. I'm getting my house ready to have company. Desiree from Pensacola and her children are coming to visit in two weeks. I think you met her at Comic Con, p. I may finally get my husband to hang these pictures that have been leaning against the wall for 5 years.

My leg is up. Mainly because I've severely twisted my ankle. And now my mother seems to think that I should sue. I'm in two minds about whether i should though.

My ankle is now the size, shape and consistency of a grapefruit.

But how does it taste?

How were you injured? If it was a polar bear mauling, we totally want pictures.

PalmerEldritch said...

oh. also, get better!

scrdmnkydst said...

No, not anything as exotic as a polar bear. I was walking leaving my friend's house and their yard is really unevenly paved. I stepped awkwardly fell over and twisted my ankle.

Of course, he thought it was hilariously funny and wouldn't stop laughing while I was in loads of pain.

Chris JC said...

Steph - we have three tunes available for purchase that aren't on iTunes :)

Ryan - sorry about your ankle. Don't sue your friends if you can help it especially if it's not preventing you earning money at the moment.
