I'm on the fence this year....

I've been spoiler free from season 2 onward.

This year I'm kind of ok if I know stuff beforehand.

This feeling might change the closer we get to airtime...

PalmerEldritch said...

and now for a tweet from @carltoncuse:

"From some imaginative LOST fans... RT @TheDonkeyWheel. http://bit.ly/1hibI1"

that video is pretty awesome but prolly makes no sense unless you've seen The Lonely Island's "We Like Sportz" which probably only makes sense if you've seen their "Just 2 Guyz" which only makes sense if YOU'RE TOTALLY RAD!

I'm in the middle on spoilers.

scrdmnkydst said...

spoilers to the ;eft of you? foilers to the right?

scrdmnkydst said...

Kim (or Aimee, idk, i'm assuming Kim) said on twitter that we can send in our picks for Losties.

We need the categories first please!

Kyle from Kentucky said...

ive got all the season posters but this is probably my favorite. Only they don't have Vincent which sucks but is understandable. I love how Locke is facing backwards or Flocke or whatever you wanna call him. Will the real John Locke please stand up for I think he still has work to do - the most important work of his life

JonFromNKY said...

That video was spectacular.

Chris JC said...

Morning, kids!

LOST news?

Shall I click?

Yes I shall.

Chris JC said...

Just to confirm: I did.

Oklahaimee said...

That was me that updated Twitter; I chatted w/ Kim last night, and we're ready to get the TLI balls rolling again :)

As far as the guest actor, I'm going with Chuck Norris. FINALLY.

Oklahaimee said...

I don't have a very big caseload yet, so I'm going to try & steal whatever time I can at work and do some notes.

PalmerEldritch said...

CHUCK NORRIS AS SAYID'S REAL DAD!!!!!!

memphish said...

Chuck Norris as Jacob and Black Shirt Guy's dad. Chuck Norris invents his own time machine, travels back in time to the Island where he knocks up Jacob and Black Shirt Guy's moms. Jacob is born as a result of the actual physical union. Black Shirt Guy is born as a result of the residual Super Jizz left on the toilet BSG's mom sat on.

palmer are the other seasons of mad men on there? I didn't know. dexter been awesome this season.

PalmerEldritch said...

dont know if they're streaming but we've netflixed the first two seasons to catch up on mad men. now i've got a serious need to watch season 3. have the last 6 or 7 episodes on the DVR but not the first half of season 3.

also, my netflix ps3 disc should be shipping soon. excellent.

Jordan said...

Haha Palmer. That We Like Lost video was pretty great.

Also pretty great, Drunk Ewoks taking over The Today Show.

Jordan said...

And if I'm not mistaken, Netflix doesn't usually stream tv shows that aren't on dvd yet. And Mad Men season 3 just ended on Sunday, so I'm doubting it would be anytime soon. I'm thinking you might need to consult with the magic box.

Oklahaimee said...

No date or time yet, but I'll make sure to post it on Twitter so the voyeurs can enjoy the ustream show. Probably sometime later next week.

PalmerEldritch said...

What's the word Blogspot?

- i just got back from my California vacation adventure. I brought back a parting-gift too, a nasty flu, so i'm running slowww.

- Netflix experimented with carrying shows that are currently airing. I watched last season's CSI episodes that way, but it must not have worked out because they stopped (at least on CSI)

- getting excited for a LOST season 5 rewatch once those DVDs come out (don't want to hear it UKers). I really don't remember much of last season off the top of my head, something about Juliet & Kate greased up in the motor pool.

- don't put any tiger balm on your ankle Herlihy. That stuff will totally ruin a lawsuit.

Jordan said...

Welcome back Aimee. Does your reappearance mean LOST is near?!

PalmerEldritch said...

if aimee sees her shadow then no new LOST until after new year's. :(

scrdmnkydst said...

Tiger Balm seems really unethical considering them being an endangered species...

PalmerEldritch said...

also, don't tiger balm your nuts.

just saying.

a guy on my high school soccer team did that to himself. twice.

V tonight. Hope it keeps up the mo.

Is anyone watching S6 of SYTYCD? We are, but I feel like it's going thru the motions. Jakob is my favorite, but his name is spelled stupid.

Of course I'm watching SYTYCD. We were commenting on how every contestant's name was oddly spelled. I guess that's how you try to stand out. Jakob is the best but he's very prissy. I do not like feminine dancers. I'm very impressed with Peter, Russell and Legacy. They would be the underdogs.

I'm still loving V.

Happy Birthday MB!

Jordan said...

Thought a good deal less of last night's ep of V than the pilot. Really didn't like them teasing me with Elizabeth Mitchell almost hitting her annoying son in the face with a baseball bat.

Actual line of dialogue between the annoying son and his equally annoying fat friend: "Two words. Awe some."

I'm not going to make up my mind too much one way or the other regarding V just yet. Read the other day that the showrunner who was responsible for these first 4 episodes was recently replaced by a guy who worked on The Shield and Chuck. So there probably is going to be some changes between these eps and the ones that will start back up in March.

memphish said...

I too didn't like Ep. 2 as much as Ep. 1 of V, but then again I figured they couldn't keep up the pace. I hate when they use dream stuff in previews. Then again, it serves me right for watching the previews. I'll certainly hang in there for 2 more episodes and come back in March. I hope the showrunner change is good news. According to TV critic Mo Ryan they aren't going back to shooting until January.

Holli

Jordan said...

That's interesting. Does anybody know how far into shooting Lost is? Quite the convenient opening for Elizabeth Mitchell...

memphish said...

I think last I heard Damon and Carlton say, which was at that Hawaii Film Fest thing Ryan recorded, they were writing ep. 8, shooting ep. 7 and breaking ep. 9. I think there's definitely been room for a Juliet recurrence.

Thanks for the Bday wishes folks!

The Bad news: I got the damn flu (for awhile there I actually had delusions that I would beat it this year)

The good news: I got the day off!

things I should do....but sleep sounds too tempting

Ironically, I believe one of my early complaints about Juliet was that she was reptilian with that blank look that hid her real emotions. Of course, we saw Juliet go full circle. Will Erica do so as well?

Holli

scrdmnkydst said...

remember when in season 3 that everyone hated Juliet?

and how everyone was upset when she fell down the shaft?

that was fun.

memphish said...

Kablammo!

Hope that makes you feel well very soon, MB.

Holli

Jordan said...

Not everyone hated Juliet at the start. I liked her from the beginning. Took a lot of flack from the ladies of the blog over it back then. :P

andrew. said...

- Merrily Birthdate MB! sawry to hear about the flu. i recommend lots of Orange-Strawberry-Banana juice.

- i thought episode 2 of V was okay. I'm not expecting a whole lot from the show though

- sorry to hear about Dollhouse, not that it was any kind of shocker. Fox had already sent the show to burning-off-episodes mode. It was a good show, looking forward to seeing how it ends.

- i was one of the people that hated Juliet during season 3. Her character was frustrating in the is-she-isn't-she-evil thing, and Mitchell made that really annoying pursed-lips face whenever she was being coy about her intentions. Mitchell does dance rings around Scott Wolf & boring priest guy though.

Jordan said...

Sorry to hear about Dollhouse, Steph. Are you ok?

Still have never watched an episode, so I have no feelings either way. But I kinda feel that Joss Whedon got a bit of what he deserved for being dumb enough to do another show on Fox. After how they jerked him around and totally crapped on Firefly. Why the heck would he go back there?

Jordan said...

No Modern Family tonight thanks to the Country Music Awards.

You're not winning any points with me country music. As if you had any to begin with.

And can anyone tell me why the CMA Awards logo is the Star Trek logo?

Jordan said...

said logo

memphish said...

I had the same "I hate country music because there's no Modern Family" discussion earlier. Instead of Modern Family I watched Glee and was reminded why I don't like Glee. I think I might tape it and watch only the Jane Lynch parts. She's fantastic. But she makes the rest of them look that much worse.

Holli

Jordan said...

Same thing happened to me, Holli. Watched some of Glee and less than liked it. I see how it can appeal to certain groups. But I am obviously not a member.

PalmerEldritch said...

Brad Paisley and Shatner are collaborators/friends. Maybe that explains why the CMAs are at Starfleet Academy?

Just read some spoilers for LOST because I wasn't paying attention. Interesting but really wish I hadn't read it. Spoiler free is (possibly) the way to be (maybe).

Jordan said...

Anybody have any podcast recommendations? I'm looking to load up my ipod with enough stuff to last me for the 3 week road trip I leave for tomorrow.

mb said...

Thanks for the well wishes - turns out I actually have strep throat. I feel better today though - Pennicillin is awesome :)

Jordan, I've been listening to the Stuff You should Know podcast (from HowStuffWorks.com) and really enjoying it. The name pretty much says it, the two guys are pretty entertaining and basically research and try to explain anything, from what really is the flu? to what are Credit Default Swaps (and how they helped cause our current economic s**tstorm), to what is Geocatching? (haven't listened to that ep yet so I don't know either). A quick glance at the titles of the last 20 or so shows will give you an idea of how random they are.

mb said...

I should say - Stuff You Should Know IS on iTunes. Though it is also available (I think) at the Stuff You Should Know blog

Jordan, I'm ok. I was in denial. I should have known.
I don't think anyone would turn down an opportunity to do a tv show with any network regardless of what your history.
Podcast recommendations: Movies You May Have Missed, the Paul Goebel Show, Battleship Pretension, Film Riot, Flick Fights, The Criterion Cast.
Where are you going?

Stephanie said...

I love lamp.

Flying to Phoenix tomorrow, then San Diego (maybe Tijuana), Minneapolis, Chicago, and St. Louis. Give or take a couple other possible stops in the midwest when I'm bussin' it. Combination of watching my shitty Seahawks lose some away games and meeting up with friends. Along with a bunch of aimless wandering. Can't afford to leave the country this year, or for too long. So I'm exploring this great land of ours just a bit. Nobody here lives in any of those places and wants to give me a free place to stay, right? ;)

Most importantly, I think I'm set with my ipod. Got about 100 some odd different podcast eps along with first two seasons of The Shield and the first season of Burn Notice. I'z needs my fix. That plus I got some long layovers at the Denver airport.

Too bad I don't have one of those fancy phones you guys all have with the internet. Will have to be a bit more resourceful to keep up with the blog. Although at the rate it's been going, I'll prob only miss out on 20 some odd posts.

Dom is doing a good job and everything but comeone I have a hard time seeing the former hobit and bloody rock God as a main antagonist in a crime/mystery/drama show.

Locke shitting a flaming turd may be the best blogspot avatar ever. Kudos!

Jordan, San Diego is fantastic. Check out the zoo and the Animal Park. And Fred's Mexican Cafe. And In-n-Out. And they have a Fudrucker's that I haven't been to. And go to the Jack in the Box. And Memphis BBQ isn't all that good but they have a signed picture of MacGyver so that's cool. And Dick's Last Resort had some pretty good food too.

Oh. And sandwich shops there have guacamole. Delicious!

Also, pick up some Cactus Cooler.

memphish said...

Please don't eat Memphis BBQ in San Diego. It's just wrong.

Holli

memphish said...

In the San Diego area my favorite fast foods are Rubio's for fish tacos and Fin's in UTC in La Jolla for shrimp burritos. The Top of George's at the Cove is a great reasonably priced restaurant with a fantastic view in La Jolla.

PalmerEldritch said...

aw crap. Kansas City Barbecue. Not Memphis. There you go.

mb said...

Jordan - could you do me the favor of downing a couple of Chicago slices (pizza) on my behalf? Who knows when I will taste it again - perhaps I can live vicariously though you.

JonFromNKY said...

Jordan have fun on your trip. As far as your Seahawks go, CRACKA' PLEASE! Try living in the Cincinnati fan base. I mean, yeah, they're doing OK now, but still.

I've been trying to get into V and FF. I have to say it's been a bit of a struggle for me. I just haven't been hooked like I was with LOST, BSG, and Breaking Bad, or even the first season of HEROES. I'm looking forward to DAY ONE. It hasn't really been hyped that much yet.

On a different note, I get my new car at work on Monday. 2010 Dodge Charger baby. The sad thing is I'm mostly happy because it's got an input for my iPod. Great, just what I need, another distraction.
