Ally, MANY Houston area companies are not working tomorrow. My daughter works for Shell and they were given tomorrow off. I guess they are more worried about flooding than anything. We have already had some serious rain here in Northwest Harris County tonight. Hope all is well in your area.

It's well ridiculous that kids have to go back to school in the middle of august... It's the best part of summer... they should be out tormenting old people and defacing public property.... not stuck in school doing work...

If i had a choice, it would be with the tormenting of old people.

(NB. Old people constitutes anything over 30 in my young, innocent and naive little eyes)

For the cake fans of the blogspot, this might be what happens if you say to your local supermarket:

"I want the cake to say, 'Best Wishes Suzanne'. Underneath that, 'We Will Miss You'

CAKE!

Today's Urban Dictionary Word:

Shuffle Shame

"Shuffle shame" is when your mp3 music player is playing on speakers in shuffle mode, and somebody enters the room at the exact moment the worst song of your collection is being played.

I felt shuffle shame when Tony came to the office today, my iPod was playing Paris Hilton's single as he came in.

Turns out that cake has been kicking around the internet for bloody ages. I am so slow off the mark!

My mp3 player is full of the works of Extreme at the moment, as I'm awaiting their fifth album (13 years after their fourth album) so Shuffle Shame is kind of a permanent state for me.

I also have Jerry Reed's "West Bound and Down" from Smokey and the Bandit on there - but that's not a problem, as it's a fucking awesome some from a truly excellent film.

Yes.

Yes, it is Chris. We should do "Movies that are set where you live". Examples for me:
Smokey and the Bandit(of course)
Big Fish(which I do not like)
Forrest Gump
Fried Green Tomatoes
My Cousin Vinny
Sweet Home Alabama
To Kill a Mockingbird

On second thought, never mind. Bad idea.

Film set where I used to live

and

Film set roughly where I live now

I have never lived in a place where Hugh Grant might come up to you and express his admiration in a charming, awkward fashion, only in places where the fact that you can move might be enough provocation for you be stabbed to death.
