For anyone who didn't catch my post @the end of the last (mega) thread:
A couple of thingys over at the SPLOG, one of which presents pretty interesting possibilities I think if it means anything - which it probably does not - lol.
Secret Diaries of a Call Girl is well good. The second season is to be shown soon over here... It's a little racy but I love smut, so it's perfectly taylored to me. :)
MB, Showtime is streaming online here. I'm on the fence with the show. I like seeing Billy Piper in a different role but it is disturbing watching our sweet Rose use an adult toy. I think I'll continue watching.
I can't wait for the US version of Top Gear to come and drive some Mini Coopers through Britain and indulge in promoting cultural stereotyping - after our team did much the same through some of the southern states it'd be the least we deserve.
i sometimes want to see the Top Gear guys get beaten about the head and neck with the wet ends of their own severed legs so Adam Carolla may be an improvement.
havent watched too many Top Gears but they came off as real smug and annoying in the episode(s) that i did see.
- DVR'd Weeds & Call Girl but haven't watched them yet.
- I did watch Spiderwick Chronicles last night & it has Mary-Louise Parker in the mom role behaving very much like Nancy Botwin, minus the felonies of course. I think it's a pretty solid kids' movie.
- also watched "The Happening." It's just a big bland, dopey slop of a movie. It's definitely bad, but I've seen worse. For example, "Lady In The Water" was 1000x worse.
- listened to the 1st 2 episodes of the new Jay & Jack show. I like the new format. Ralph's movie review segment was cool. I like the conversational tone with Jay & Jack, although I do worry that it's going to steal some of his thunder for the Dharmalars. "Hybrid" creeps me out.
re: Palmer's link - holy crap! OMFG - that's hilarious. Apparently the hosts do their own selection of mail to read :D You'd think there would be another pair of eyes on that selection process for vetting purposes.
Herlihy's guilty pleasures are late 90s pop. Mine are Mike Batt's Womble albums of the 1970s.
Seriously, though, The Myths and Legends of King Merton Womble and His Journey to the Centre of the Earth is better than almost any other record ever recorded by anyone ever.
I'm also at this very moment downloading a 1976 Elton John album.
Finally - regarding The Happening: I am a big fan of the Shyamalan and yet this is the first time I've found it hard to defend one of his films. I think Lady in the Water to be far superior to this one. There's some amazing stuff in The Happening - not least the first five minutes - but it's not quite enough.
Also - Mark Wahlberg is laughable. Sorry, Marky Mark. Feel it!
Wonder if we'll see Jordan on here today b4 he leaves. If he's like me, the 11th hour has arrived and most of the to-do list must be done today - lol. But I'm guessing he's more together.
Er, not so much. I was up all last night. Got about 3 hours of actual sleep. Then in perfectly typical fashion, I responsibly met up with some friends today to watch the Euro Cup matches at Jimmy's favoUrite, the George & Dragon. Now I'm wasting time looking at things online. A friend just was telling me about how you can make your own map on google and do a sort of travelogue. I might do one. And at the rate I'm getting things done today, I'll be up most of tonight frantically running in circles. You can bet on it. I then leave tomorrow around 1 pm.
Jordan, That travelogue thing sounds cool - is it something that we could all check in on (w/your permission of course)?
Staying up the night b4 an international plane flight is something I've always done (I'll just talk as if it was planned ;) ) - In addition to giving me time earlier in the day to do more fun things, it always had the added advantage of making me just exhausted enough to actually sleep on the long-ass plane ride
jordan, enjoy your trip. i'll play some MGS4 in your honor.
ally, hope you're having a fun time on your trip!
chris, cha cha slide? i was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago and am so very, very glad that they didnt play that. although, there was enough booze that it would have been a hit.
Surely the producers learned something from the writers strike, like don't have one or you will lose tons of viewers. Of course the actors also learned, hey look at those people watching off the internet when they were bored during the writers strike.
At least the good news for LOST is that they don't plan to start filming until August and with the February air date, they could probably start as late as November and still keep us happy.
Yeah, but if the Actors still strike, that's going to put a huge blow to the beginning of the season... All those new shows like Fringe, Dollhouse, Middleman, etc. They're going to have an incredibly bad time and could end up cancelled if viewership is down... And what about Reaper? It had such a bad shot last year, and it's given a reprieve... only to be accosted by another strike... It's going to be dead in the water... :(
The only show I care about enough to be upset about when it comes back is LOST. If there's a strike it would delay starts I presume instead of interrupt. I can deal with that, especially once football season starts.
The pilot of Fringe is quite good. But then, it is a JJ Abrams tv show, so i expect nothing less.
Meanwhile, in the midst of writing that incredibly short message. I got a phone call. Nothing unusual about that.. Apart from it was a woman called Laura Brews from the BBC. She was asking me to go along to an audition for the Weakest Link next wednesday. Oh my... this is too bizarre.
She was telling me about the audition, which is two hours long with 9 other people, they're going to ask about me, what i do, hobbies etc. Then we're going to a couple of mock rounds of the game, with a fake Anne.
Upon hearing this i instantly thought they'd be using an Anne-bot like in Doctor Who... but no, it's just one of the production team in a ginger wig. I mentioned this and she was laughing saying "no, no it's just one of us, no Anne-Dalek". This annoyed me a tad because the Anne-bot isn't a Dalek, it was just a robot with a teleportation laser that sent people to the Daleks. She wasn't a Dalek!
I didn't mention that to her though... I just let her go on in her oblivious ways...
I think i've rambled on a bit now... Hmm... But that may be because i'm excited or the blogspot is quite slow today........
If i do get on the show, then you shall all see me in all my glory.
As soon as i mentioned the "Anne-Droid", i felt like such an utter geek. :(
They're going to ask me what i do, day-to-day like. What am i going to say? "I skunk around on the Scott & Steve blogspot talking about Lost and other shit"?! Pfft.
I'm a published music critic..... On a website that is the 185th most visited music website in the UK. SCORE!
And a full time student... well. I am, but i've finished for the year... so i've been going to sleep at 5am and waking at 3pm... I did get up early today though.. at 1pm, i had a horrific nightmare. I'd give you lot the details... but i would get arrested. :(
Morgan's friend and new Lost fan is here today. She's not like Morgan. She has an imagination and likes to play pretend. Morgan and her are playing Lost today. They have big plans to use a float as the raft and Oceanic 815. I wish I had a camcorder.
Herlihy - that's frikkin' sweet man! Definitely pulling for you to get on the show! RE: the BBC woman - I'm just impressed she caught the humor and didn't just go "um...whatever", which is usually the response I get with Who humor outside my family and the Whovian community - lol. And, just b/c you're on break from school doesn't mean you're not a full-time student - don't sell yourself short :)
Steph - do you have a cellphone? I was surprised to realize that mine can record video (albeit in 30 sec. increments). Perhaps yours does too?Which characters are they going to be?
MB - Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I hope i get on the show, i don't see why not. I think that they'd love my acerbic wit and amazing general knowledge. huff. I bet my height gets mentioned. :( I hate being freakishly tall sometimes...
I don't think Leo is physical enough to be a superhero. I tried to watch Ocean's Thirteen last night. It was so shiny it hurt my eyes. Brad Pitt chewing his gum made my stomach turn. And George was so skinny, he was actually unattractive to me. I guess I've bumped my head. I think I really dislike Steven Soderbergh very much. But something I did love was Be Kind Rewind. I really, really liked it. It made me cry.

oops - that was me :))
third post. third account.
but only the second person.
mind boggling!!!
Tonight, Weeds and that prostitute show with Billie Piper.
Tonight AG and Season 2 of The 4400 on DVD.

Clinessa?! wtf?!!!
I want to see Billie Piper as a call girl. I wish I had Showtime :(
Don't worry MB, you don't see her boobies. Just her in a variety of sex scenes. They should be available on certain websites if you are so inclined.
Incidentally, she does look nice when wearing a black wig though.
"Taylored"?
;)
hilarious reasons to turn into the hulk via youtube. good stuff.
also, your next vacation? that looks pretty damned cool. except when the polar bear smashes through the glass and eats your face.

steph, nothing Billie Piper related can be as disturbing as this.
p, I can't see it. But whatever it is, it can't be as disturbing as this news.

havent watched too many Top Gears but they came off as real smug and annoying in the episode(s) that i did see.
Jeremy is smug. Richard is cute as pie. James is forgettable.
I think I've seen every episode. Morgan loves it. It's her and her dad's show.
It's a very different beast from Top Gear's original form.
Although the theme tune was the proper Allman Brothers version of Jessica rather than the abysmal one they use now.
- DVR'd Weeds & Call Girl but haven't watched them yet.

What do you think this guy did to piss off his co-workers?
lmfao!
mb, that's great. i saw the related video on the side though...
one not safe for work word

Chris - "why've you got to play that song so loud?!" because we want to, because we want to.
I'm really showing my age there.
Although, Hear'Say was on tv today and i knew all the lyrics. :(

Chris - I wouldn't confine my guilty pleasures to just 90's pop. I extend my taste all the way to the mid-noughties.
In that case: Enjoy

What an utter complete travesty.

i really hope that Fringe is good. i'm also hoping that Anna Torv is cool cuz she was really good as the main character in a video game.
i'm also hoping that the Actor's Strike is avoided so they can't possibly find some sort of reason to delay BSG's new episodes even further.
The only show I care about enough to be upset about when it comes back is LOST. If there's a strike it would delay starts I presume instead of interrupt. I can deal with that, especially once football season starts.
What would a 12-fingered-man and an 8-toed woman produce?

herlihy!! good luck! i'm gunna have to find a way to watch it if you're on. youtube?
If Herlihy makes it to the show proper (good luck!) then I for one will do my best to make sure it's available to all of you.
And I hope my fellow Brits will try too.
Probably wise not to go into the intricacies of the "Anne-Droid".
If i do get on the show, then you shall all see me in all my glory.

don't say you're a student - they always get voted off.
