I'll take Steph to stump them more often than not.

BTW, I ate 2 deviled egg halves tonight. So that puts me 2 ahead of Ralph since he threw down the gauntlet.

Wow. some good music choices in the background Kim! Didn't expect to hear Leona Lewis and i think that that's Aly & AJ in the background of that drunken phonecall. I amaze even myself with my musical prowess. :)

Good podcast guys.

t-dot kim said...

Yes you did hear Leona Lewis, I love her. I think she's great! Her album comes out on Tuesday in Canada and the US. Woo hoo!

KABLAMO!

I said in the last thread that my head says Aimee, but my gut says Kimb. And seeing as I never listen to my head, why start now?

boy - who to bet on. I'm in the same boat as Jordan - head says Aimee, but something in my gut is nagging at me about it. this is tough. can I choose 'tie'? (what a fucking wuss i am)

Yessir.

How dare you tell me there was a Leona Lewis song - I wanted to find out for myself!

who in the blue hell is Leona Lewis?

Trevor McFur said...

I took the plunge and bought a PS3 this weekend. I bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to go with it, but what I've actually been playing more of are Lemmings and flOw. Still waiting for my HDMI cbles to arive from monoprice.

What a refreshing surprize! W00t W00t to that!
Haven't listend yet (will do it while running later today), but if it's lost trivia i think both kim and steph have huge chances (like 1/3 ^__-), but Aimee's vast knowledge will make them the runners up.

PalmerEldritch said...

nice, trevor.

what kind of games do you play? first person shooters? third person dungeon crawls? sports? racing?

scrdmnkydst said...

Leona Lewis is the winner of The X Factor, which is kind of like an American Idol like show. It was created by Simon Cowell and includes bands and people over 25 as well as under 25s. She won in 2006 and has released her first album over here last year, it's ok, decent Mariah Carey fare. She also became the first British woman to top the American charts in over 20 years with her song "Bleeding Love".

Kim - her album is ok, not amazing, but i don't generally like that kind of music, but it's quite enjoyable. One of the songs, I Will Be, is a cover of an Avril Lavigne ballad that was given away with iTunes with Avril's last album, it's spectacular.

I seem to give the impression that i like pop music, but i don't generally. I'm well cool. Proper scene like. And now i'm babbling. Sorry all. :(

Trevor McFur said...

First person shooters tend to make me motion sick. I like the 3rd person, walk around and do missions kind of games, like GTA, Metal Gear, those kind of games. I'm looking foward to GTA IV later this month; if it's anything like the last one, it should keep me busy until mid-summer.

PalmerEldritch said...

"She won in 2006 and has released her first album over here last year, it's ok, decent Mariah Carey fare."

"One of the songs, I Will Be, is a cover of an Avril Lavigne ballad"

oh. well, that'd explain why i've never heard of her.

but, being that she won a british talent competition, this sounds like a great opportunity to post a video of blogspot favorite Paul Potts.

by the way, X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent, AND Pop Idol? how many of these shows are there over there?

and how many do we have here in the States? at least two that i have the misfortune to know of.

PalmerEldritch said...

GTAIV comes out April 29th and MGS4 on June 12th.

Trevor McFur said...

I also need to find a game for my wife. She has no interest in Elder Scrolls, and to my surpise hasn't taken to Lemmings or flOw. She's been playing PS Soduku, and I gotta say that watching someone else play Soduku on a 52-inch television is a pretty painful experience. Any suggestions?

scrdmnkydst said...

Palmer - Pop Idol stopped being made in 2003 after the winner was a white scottish female in the same mould as Reuben Studdard. haha. needless to say, she flopped bigtime. then in 2004 Simon Cowell started The X Factor in it's place. Other than that, there's just Britain's Got Talent and there'll be the British Inventor soon too...

We do have a myriad of reality glut on our tv... it's a bit lame to say the least.

scrdmnkydst said...

Also; Mario Kart Wii is released here on Friday. WHOO.

[ally] said...

That was a good episode of TLI. Good job ladies.

Although, I feel kinda weird that Elias submitted the intelligent book questions and I asked about jizz and Bai Ling. I hope I kinda made up for it with a few more trivial things about Lost.

[ally] said...

Oh and I better get to it with taking a picture of me in my TLI swag, since I've been called out.

t-dot kim said...

Hey guys, I just listened to the podcast for the first time after editing...

Did anyone find the music distracting (besides Ms. Lewis of course)...do I need to re-post with the volume lower?

scrdmnkydst said...

I didn't want to mention it, but you did first, so...

at the beginning, Stephanie's volume was quite low and the music wasn't so backgrounded, it was a bit distracting at first, but then i got used to it... It didn't annoy me though so i wasn't too bothered. Stephanie could have been a bit louder though.. that would have helped. ;)

Rrb said...

I liked the music at that volume, usually It's to low for my liking . But my hearing may, Be failing me..I'm gettin up there 31 ish:( Great Show!!! Steph was awsome! I loved the southern Twang

[ally] said...

The podcast is awesome, Kim. Leave it as is. The music gave it a girlier feel. Kinda like we were all invited to a slumber party.

When is the pillow fighting meant to commence?

memphish said...

I liked the music level too.

Great podcast ladies! Congratulations to the winner. But aren't we truly all winners for having a new TLI? To quote Kimberley, it's "good times."

Trevor McFur said...

Ally, the jizz and sausage question were more than appropriate for the show, and completely hilarious. Personally, I would have started with Elias' intellectual questions before diving into the jizz (!), but it worked the way Stephanie did it too.

Stephanie said...

Sorry, I speak quietly anyway.

Stephanie said...

Thanks, Kim and Aimee, for having me on. I had so much fun.

t-dot kim said...

Ok, thanks guys. If anyone wants the cast sans music let me know.

Good questions...Elias, well played.

[ally] said...

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the jizz and snausages, not mixed together, of course.

I enjoyed the coming into a lot of money talk.

elias said...

I'm glad at least one of you enjoyed my nasty little questions ;)

[ally] said...

good questions, elias. i would've gotten maybe half of one right.

Jordan said...

I haven't listened to it yet, so I can't say if it's too loud. I'm sure it's ok. Seeing as I barely know the music is there normally, I'm sure it isn't that loud. lol.

Trevor, Congrats on using Palmer's b-day as an excuse to buy yourself something. Glad to know I wasn't the only one. I went and got myself season 4 of The Wire.

There are a bunch of demos on the Playstation Network, but the damn thing's interface is retarded (going to be re-done pretty soon), so it's hard to know what all is there. Here's a few demos that I recommend you check out:

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Rachet & Clank
Resistance: Fall of Man
Stranglehold
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
MLB 08: The Show

As for buying, Uncharted and Resistance are both very good and quite fun. And if you like sports games, MLB 08 is a really good baseball game. Motorstorm is a fun racer and you can most likely find it pretty cheap as a lot of people got it free with their system and it's been out a while. And for upcoming, of course their is GTA and Metal Gear.

Jordan said...

And I just want to take the time to personally blame the British for all our garbage reality shows we have here in the US. Because most of them originally came from over the pond. And if they didn't, were somehow inspired from something over there. Why do you guys (not you specifically) love that crap so much. I still can't get over how HUGE Big Brother is over there. It is barely popular over here. Last time I was in London, I was surprised to see all the Big Brother recap shows and sections in the newspapers. And before I get corrected by one of our UK friends, all these shows do in fact start in England, right? Not some other European country like Sweden or Denmark. I've just always assumed because that's what I've been told (by Americans, mind you).

Trevor McFur said...

I haven't even checked out the demo section yet, that's a good idea. I've heard that Drake's Fortune is pretty good, maybe I'll check that out. It kind of looks like Dude Raider. Ratchet & Clank might be a good one for the wife to play, their PS2 games were a blast.

PalmerEldritch said...

the ninja gaiden sigma demo barely held my attention for five minutes. but it's a free demo, so why not check it out?

check out the Heavenly Sword demo. that game is AMAZING. but also only about 8 to 10 hours of gameplay. so, if you like the demo, see if you can rent it.

Assassin's Creed is a ton of fun too. but the B Story is horrible. that's offset by the fact that it's GTA in the middle east during the Crusades. good stuff.

is there a Grand Tourismo Prologue demo out? that game is supposed to be fan-freakin-tastic but i'd much rather play a demo first.

download some videos of Little Big Planet, it's cute factor is set to 11. but i dont think it's out until the fall. when it DOES come out, your wife may want it.

hopefully, this year's Madden will kick ass.

Chris JC said...

Big Brother is Dutch in origin, but you can blame us for X Factor, via Pop Idol, via Popstars.

American Inventor is similar to what we call Dragon's Den (but, y'know, bigger and more American) but in fact that format is Japanese, where it has the frankly excellent name of "Money Tiger".

Our biggest TV canker at the moment are long running talent shows to find someone who will star in a show on London's West End (think: Broadway) and essentially add up to a thirteen week commercial for the show (even on the "commercial free" BBC).

It also means a weekly look at Andrew Lloyd-Webber's face.

I KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO WIN!

Jordan said...

I liked the Ninja Gaiden demo. But maybe it was because it was the very first thing I played on my PS3. I found the demo quite fun. I later played the game and it was very repetitive. I had the same experience as Palmer with Heavenly Sword. For whatever reason, the demo didn't get me.

There is a Gran Turismo Prologue demo out. I have it. But you have to set up a Japanese PSN account to get it.

Here's how to do so.

It can be a bit confusing. If it's too tricky for you, try setting up an account with Hong Kong as your residence. That way it will be in English. The HK store is slighty different. The different accounts you can set up to access different stores are: US, Japan, Hong Kong, and Europe. Each store is different. The European one isn't too great as the Euro's are always complaining about not getting the demo's we get in the US. But every now and then they have a demo that we don't. Usually soccer or something like that. If you get access to the Japan or Hong Kong store, check out this new demo called Echochrome. Interesting weird little game. And for a very strange experience, there is a horse racing game too.

Jordan said...

"I had the same experience as Palmer with Heavenly Sword. For whatever reason, the demo didn't get me."

That didn't read correctly. I meant, I had Palmer's Ninja Gaiden experience with Heavenly sword.

Anonymous: I KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO WIN!

Oi! No spoilers, Anonymous.

Now I know it's a woman who wins. It's totally been ruined for me.

Jordan said...

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think American Inventor is on anymore. It made a brief appearance last year and wasn't too successful. I'm pretty sure it was shit canned. I never saw it. Besides AI, a lot of the shows they try over here don't work. Yet they keep coming with no let up.

scrdmnkydst said...

hmm. it seems like that over here too. It feels like there's nothing but nonstop reality on the box. Not that i complain, i seem to love reality tv.

Big brother is my favourite though... i even like the US version, despite the fact it's filled with americans.

Jordan said...

I wouldn't be surprised if the American Big Brother is just as popular in the UK as it is here. The only person I know who watches it is Kimberley, and she's Canadian. I know enough people in the states watch it to keep it going each season. It's just by no means a huge hit like AI. AI is a monster threatening to eat television as we know it.

Back to quality scripted television. Has anybody here watched Breaking Bad on AMC? I just watched the first two ep's and so far am quite liking it. For those unfamiliar, it stars Brian Cranston, the father from Malcolm in the Middle, as a struggling chemistry teacher and father/husband. He finds out he has terminal lung cancer and decides to start making crystal meth to make money for his family before he dies. I'm only two eps in, be so far it has been riveting.

Jordan said...

Jon from NKY said...

Hey, check it out, I'm a blogger. Yee haw.

scrdmnkydst said...

It's not that popular here due to the fact that it's never shown. the fourth season was and so is the current season, but that's only because they're the only two that don't overlap with our own big brother. Big Brother US is only shown on a digital channel which means it'll never get more than a million viewers an episode... whcih is too bad because i think it's amazing.

Congrats to LT Smash for winning the Official MYOCOM w/ SAS March Madness Pool. Everyone else's picks were sooo bad that Smash actually sealed the victory on Saturday night, and last night's game was just a formality.

Good game last night, I really thought that Memphis was going to hold on. I think that the Final Four games were a letdown (didn't expect 2 blowouts when there were 4Number 1s playing each other), but the rest of the tourney was really great.

Trevor McFur said...

After watching The Darjeeling Limited last weekend, I've come to the conclusion that this might be the greatest song of all time.

Palmer in Assasins Creed were you pissed there was no crossbow?

[ally] said...

Where you lead, we shall follow, Steph.

Trevor, I haven't checked the bracket thing you had us do. I'm sure mine was terrible, since I was just randomly clicking around, I'm glad someone knew what they were doing, though.

Trevor McFur said...

I downloaded the demo for Uncharted last night. That's a fun game, I think I might be ordering it later today (it's not available at the local BB). Elder Scrolls really isn't doing it for me ... maybe I'm doing something wrong, but there seem to be really long stretches without action. Plus, the interface is a little bit cumbersome and gets on my nerves. Is Assasin's Creed worth the investment?

Trevor McFur said...

Ally, you finished 6 out of 10, which really is pretty respectable; after the 1st round you were actually tied for 1st. You actually forgot to pick a winner for the final game, but that really didn't matter since no one in the pool picked Kansas.

[ally] said...

so random clickiness paid off!

congrats to LT Smash!

[ally] said...

ok, so i've added myself to that twitter thing. i'm guessing this is a lot more fun if you have people you know on there, which i don't.

Jordan said...

For those sad the NCAA tourney is over, I have a new bracket style contest for everybody to sign up for. It's the same kinda tournament, except with hot chicks. The local sports radio station does it every year. It's quite a big deal. The grand prize is tickets and airfare to any sporting event of your choice in the world. And yes, foreigners can enter. They just released the brackets on air. When I get settled into work, I will create a group and post it here. It's just like the NCAA tourney. The way the matchups work is they hold them on air and take call in votes for about 3 minutes or so. So that means you can also attempt to call in and sway the vote your way. I will also post the link to listen to the station online. I suggest everybody checks it out, as it can be quite a lot of fun. They've been doing it for about 12 years now, and it's always a hot contest at the work place.

Trevor McFur said...

Yeah, I joined the twitter thing too, and there's not much going on...

I'm in for the Field of 64 Hotties. I think that pretty much every rock station does a Field of 64 Babes during March Madness ... aren't these guys a little late?

Jordan said...

They always wait til the NCAA tourney is over to do it. To give it the proper attention it deserves. And yeah, it's far from a novel concept. The key to filling out a bracket is to not go with who you personally think is hotter, but to try and pick who you think the masses will go with. That means get into the heads of guys who listen to sports talk radio. It's fun and the top prize is sweet. I have a friend who finished in the top 10 a couple years back, so it isn't as impossible as some of those other online contests.

Trevor McFur said...

I hope that some Lost babes make the field.

[ally] said...

Jordan said...

Sign up for the Bigger Dance

Where it says "pool name" enter "Scott and Steve" and the password is "lost".

You have a week to fill out your bracket. The games start next Thursday. That leaves you with plenty of time to analyze the match ups and read all the scouting reports. ;)

[ally] said...

ok steph, i think i'm following you now.

/that sounds so stalkerish.

[ally] said...

[ally] said...

sorry, i meant trevor, not mb, on the sheriff thing.

:/

Jordan said...

Before you do that, you are obviously going to need to register an account. I suggest using real info just in case you were to win a prize.

Once you are signed up, you can start making your selections. In addition, click on where it says "Emerald Downs Bigger Dance Sports Book" and read up on a secondary part of the game. You are given $1,000 pretend dollars that you can use to place wagers on the match ups once they start. Before the contests, the contestants are given odds just like sporting events in Vegas. This is a secondary game in addition to the pick em contest. This one also has prizes. It's a bit more involved as it requires day to day wagering. But if you aren't interested, it's optional.

Jordan said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
Jordan said...

Here is the KJR website if you want to listen to the match ups live once they start.

Jordan said...

One last thing to mention. They purposely disguise the seedings in each bracket so people don't just pick the top seeds. So there is your typical 1 vs 16 and 8 vs 9 and so on, but they don't show it. They also, don't put them in the right order. So don't rely on the order of how they are placed.

Jordan said...

For those interested Evangeline Lily made the field and has a first round match up with Jennifer Aniston. Aniston is a former power, but her game has been slipping the past few years. I think Evey should take her.

One other helpful tip, click on the girl's pictures at the top of the pages for scouting reports. It will show their past tournament history and give you a bit of an idea how they've fared in the past.

mb said...

Thanks Ally - but how do you search just using a name like that? All I can find to do is get it to search my email addresses from my Gmail account, and it's not finding anyone but aimee. I don't see a place to just search for a name. :/

Odd thought:

During the filming of Superman Returns, Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) was 22.

Five years prior to the events of the film, she did the nasty with Superman.

I'm not sure I like the idea of Superman screwing a 17 year old (even if she is a Pulitzer prize winning journalist). It's weird enough for me, and I live in a country where the age of consent is 16 - but in Metropolis it's got to be 18, surely?

Maybe he sodded off to avoid the statutory rape charges.

That's a cheery start to the day.

scrdmnkydst said...

Surely that's just the actress' age and not the character..? I don't know about the character, not the biggest superman fan, but surely it'd be ok..?

Trevor McFur said...

Considering that Superman Returns was supposed to be a sequal to Superman II, and Margot Kidder was probably in her mid-30s in that one, Lois Lane in Supe Returns should probably be in her late-30s/early 40s. Bad casting maybe????

Chris JC said...

That is, of course, the actual crime of the film.

I was merely making an observation, they clearly DID intend the character to be older, so perhaps shouldn't have cast someone who looks barely out of her teens.

PalmerEldritch said...

ah, yes. horrible casting, horrible story, and a horrible costume.

but how's the directing and the music?

Chris JC said...

I have a problem with a few of the chords used in the music.

No joke - I really do.

Trevor McFur said...

I love the original 2 Superman films, but I really think that they should have just rebooted the series, like they did with the Batman franchise. By trying to make a film so similar to the original films, all they did imo was highlight that it was nothing but a pale imitation.

Chris JC said...

There's another one coming, y'know.

Superman Returns is beautiful to look at and is weirdly dreamy but... not much seems to happen in it.

Oh, and Superman is a stalker that creepily hangs around in his ex girlfriend's garden and watches her through the window.

I wonder what J.J. Abrams' script for a potential new Supes movie was like when they were running through various pitches?

Chris JC said...

It would have been like this, I guess.

PalmerEldritch said...

i haven't read that link yet, chris. but from what i remember, krypton is still around, there's a giant space turtle, and lex luthor is an evil kryptonian working for the FBI. and there's THE GIANT METAL SPIDER.

Chris JC said...

You're thinking of some amalgam of scripts mostly filled with fanciful ideas by producer Jon Peters (Brainiac wrestling polar bears, etc) mostly realised in Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" treatment.

Abrams' one has... a flashback structure, and seemingly the only bit retained from it for ...Returns is the aeroplane/airplane catching scene.

It's a shame they didn't make one with a villain called "Ty-Zor", as at least in some territories, they had the perfect merchandising opportunity.

Chris JC said...

This two elements seem to have been removed from whichever version the guy on my link reviewed.

Why the hell couldn't they have made THAT Superman movie (the JJ Abrams one)?

RRB,
Thanks for the heads-up on the new SModcast!

mb said...

I couldn't disagree more with the AICN guy's dislike of that script. My only worry would have been it's ambitiousness - which, admittedly, could have multiplied it's sucki-ness (if it did suck) by a factor of a gagillion.
I agree with Trevor though - I think JJ's story could have re-booted the series like Batman Returns.

scrdmnkydst said...

I thought it was Batman Begins that was the reboot of that franchise, not Batman Returns... :p

mb said...

Gack! oops - thanks Herlihy - you are correct sir!

mb said...

As good as Michelle Pfiffer looked in black leather at the time - definitely not a reboot movie

mb said...

What?

PalmerEldritch said...

michelle pfeiffer?

bah! give me Julie Newmar any day. uh... the young and still attractive julie newmar. not the modern day one... :\

mb said...

hey - the new SModcast has LOST talk. Good stuff - funny :D

scrdmnkydst said...

Ooh, ooh, OOH!

Ausiello says that we might actually get an extra episode of Lost this season...

OOH!

mb said...

Thanks Herlihy - that would be nice news - REALLY hoping that comes true!

looks like i better get back on updating the SPLOG - sorry folks! Will work on it tonight and/or tomorrow :)

Isn't it about time for a podcast from Jay and Jack?

PalmerEldritch said...

anyone got a link to the Married Man Podcast part of the Autism Speaks marathon?

p.s. LOOOOOOST!!!

memphish said...

New Lost opening.

I want a 14th hour!

Holli

andrew. said...

Palmer - I'm pretty sure that the Married Man portion of the marathon didn't record.

PalmerEldritch said...

andrew, that kind of blows goats. i'll blame dale. :)

holli, i kind of dig that intro. it's certainly catchy!

Chris JC said...

Is the extra LOST episode not due to the feature-length finale being split into two episodes?

memphish said...

Chris, According to Ausiello and Kristin it's not. The original plan was of course to do 16 hours. The post strike plan was to do 13 hours and included in that plan was hours 12 and 13 serving as the season finale. But ABC wants them to air hours 12 and 13 over 2 nights instead of 1 and the season would end May 22. This 14th hour is something Darlton wants to add, but it's existence would force ABC to make a schedule change, so I'm not holding my breath for it. My hope would be they'll come up with a way to add the extra show and show the finale in 1 2-hour block. But we'll see.

Chris JC said...

Hey, cool. Thanks for that, Holli.

Rrb said...

Ya MB funny take Mr. Smith has on Lost I'd say he's a shipper at least with scott:) I forgot how FUC@*% Funny the Smodcast is My eyes were watering when they started talking LOST.

Jordan, I've joined the Bigger Dance, but when I try to bring up the SAS group, there's nothing there. I have signed up to join the SAS group, and there's a pull-down box that looks like it's supposed to give me access, but there's not anything in it to actually pull-down. Is that right, or am I missing something?

andrew. said...

i think only the moderator (Jordan) can look at the group

[ally] said...

Damn that moderator!

*shakes fist*

I was wondering the same thing too, Trev. I joined (again by random clicking) we'll see how lucky I get this time.

Jordan said...

Andrew is right. For now, only I can see who is in the group. That will change after it starts. As of right now I have myself, Trevor, Ally, Andrew, and Kimberley in the group.

Speaking of which, we need more people to sign up! I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, so don't feel that you have to. But I know there are more on here that would be able to have fun with it (palmer, elias, chris). Plus, there's a bunch of prizes to be had. Join in on the fun! You win the entire thing and you get 2 tix and airfare to any sporting event anywhere in the world. And remember that people from outside the US are eligible.

elias said...

I've been called out

scrdmnkydst said...

I've signed up... if that's ok..?

Stephanie said...

Holli, I hope the storms that Aimee experienced today don't hinder your Office viewing tonight. I should get them tomorrow.

Wesh said...

What?? a new Office? w00t w00000t! Definitly will be looking out for that tomorrow!
And I'm all for a 2 hour lost finale! I hope they can pull it off.

[ally] said...

Everybody should sign up! The more people in this thing the bigger the chances for us to win something, right?

Jordan- does the whole pool win prizes or just like whoever gets the most points?

PalmerEldritch said...

ok, made my brackets for the Bigger Dance. please note, they are NOT my choices but my predictions for how the Seattlites will vote.

OFFICE! w00t!

that's what she said...

Thanks Jimmy for recommending Sexy Beast on one of your last sections. What an awesome movie - and the soundtrack was stellar. South!

Just watched DiG! If I'm not the last person to see the movie, I highly highly highly recommend it! I knew of The Brian Jonestown Massacre but now must get all their music.

memphish said...

We've been expecting bad weather all day, but I'm sure it's waiting to preempt 30 Rock and The Office. But that's all right because I'm watching BSG on DVD, so I have backup plans.

To get you in the mood for The Office and to give Ally inspiration, here are Jim's Best Pranks.

Holli

[ally] said...

I picked on how I think guys would vote, not specifically those from/in Seattle. I would imagine they would be on the same boat as every other guy with their choices. But who knows. Maybe Seattlelites think differently.

Stephanie said...

The funniest prank- nickels in Dwight's phone headset.
Runner up- moving Dwight's desk.

mb said...

Allright - just finished filling out the brackets for the Bigger Dance. I have no idea what women you Seattlites would vote for, so I just went on intuition and my opinion. I truly have never heard of a bunch of them - lol (getting old)

Lmao @Jim's pranks - I had forgotten about many of those. For me it's a tie between Dwight's stuff in the vending machine, and the fax from "Future Dwight". (sigh - smile) It's sinking in that there's new Office tonight. w00t!

[ally] said...

Maybe we'll get a new prank tonight.

*fingers AND toes crossed*

Jordan said...

Glad to hear more peeps are signing up. And yes, all are welcome to play. It should be a lot of fun to follow. It always is with my friends here in town as well as co-workers.

And Palmer has the right idea. Vote how you think the callers are going to vote, not based on your personal tastes. It's hard for myself, as I have my own certain tastes that are hard to ignore.

As for voting who Seattlites like, I guess that's probably the right idea. But I wouldn't go strictly based on guys' opinions. A surprising amount of women call in as well.

Here is my one bit of advice. Click on the contestants pictures at the top of each page. Besides getting to look at a bunch of pictures ;), it also helps because you can see how they have done in past bigger dances. There are certain contestants that for whatever reason seem to do way better than you'd expect. Like Tiger Woods' wife for example. I think she's hot and all, but not that well known. And yet each of the last few years she has gone quite far.

Stephanie said...

I was excited to see a long post from Jordan. Alas, it's all about sports.:(

Trevor McFur said...

It's not about sports, it's about hotties.

I haven't made my pics yet, but I have been researching my picks.

Trevor McFur said...

Is the new Smodcast on the same iTunes feed? 'Cuz I ain't seeing it on mine...

Jordan said...

Same here Trevor. I can't make my picks until I have the time to do the proper research. ;)

DenAss said...

Trevor,

I can't get the new Smodcast on iTunes either. But you can get it through ViewAskew.

And speaking of the latest Smodcast, and all of its Lost content. I'd LOVE to hear TLI and the Dharmalars discuss the same "Lost on a deserted island" scenario as Kevin and Scott.

In fact, let me ask you blogspotters: If Kim and Aimee were on an island together with no one else around, how long would it take before they were intimate with each other?

How about Ralph and Ben?

Anonymous said...

...not very long.

anyone see who got voted off idol tonight? I missed it.

Stephanie said...

My mother-in-law just called to say Michael Johns was voted off. I would have put him about 3rd; right behind the 2 Davids. Oh well, the power of the 14 year old.

memphish said...

Pantenna, MILF Island, Snip, Snap, Snip, Snap.

Jordan said...

Thanks for spoiling me Steph! >:(

It's ok. I don't really mind.

Bit surprised he got the boot. Kristy Lee Cook lives on! Bwahaha.

Stephanie said...

Kristy Lee Cook sucks.

Anonymous said...

Kristy Lee Cook is trashy. Archeletta is horrible too. I don't get the appeal. He sings the same type of song every week and then is always 'surprised' that the judges like him. My 13 year old sister doesn't even like him.

PalmerEldritch said...

admittedly, i only watch Idol while i'm walking through the room with the TV, but i had no idea that Michael Johns was on the show.

i think i've eaten across the street from the restaurant where the Irish girl works. and what the hell is up with her husband's face tattoos?! is he part of a Maori tribe or something? cuz that's about the only excuse i can dream up for tattooing your face?

Rrb said...

I posted a link to the lost, SMODCAST above just click on the time at the bottom of the post.At the Site scroll down the page.. its screwwee,

don't bother because it's on Itunes todayBut at View A Skew /Quickstop.com you can get the show early. If your a fiend for it

Stephanie said...

Again, The Office isn't as good when they leave the office. I can just imagine the writer's room. "Let's see. What is the most cringe-worthy situation we can put Pam and Jim in? A dinner party at Jan and Michael's."

[ally] said...

Would anyone here actually watch MILF Island?

/i kinda think i would.

Chris JC said...

I'd watch Celebrity MILF Island.

And the bauty of that is we get to name the contestants. I'll start:

Gillian Anderson.

Chris JC said...

200!

I got the Wii version of Mario Kart today. Good fun.

Now, before any of you spout outraged red-hot bile that we would dare to have it a week and a bit before the US, please know that Smash Bros doesn't even have a release date over here yet.

And will cost about $80.

Is it good? You enjoying?

[ally] said...

i hope she's not one of the first to hear:

"gillian... we no longer want to hit that."
