You can't blame it on the South Jordan. I'm in Boston right now. FSM was ok. Really funny when it was, dull when it wasn't. Lots of wang and a few boobies. I'd say a rental for when you want sex humor. Jack McBrayer was consistently funny.

Kate: Oh, and don't worry about a 15 y-o in tow...

If my gf and I could travel in France and England for two weeks with an 18-month-old, you'll be just fine...

Just offer her sugar and caffeine as a reward for good behaviour (that's not how we handled our toddler by the way... I swear it's not)

Sorry Holli. Well then Boston is full of retards. Or should I say, "re-taaaaaaads". lol.

What's with this new page after 200 posts thing? Tdot Kimb will surely love this new feature.

"Lots of wang and a few boobies."

LAME, LAME, LAME.

Or as Kimberley would say, "Woo hoo!"

over 200 posts? rock riddle AND kim are gunna be pissed.

comic-con goers, san diego has a pretty good public transportation system. you can get passes from an automated ticket seller at just about any of the trolley stations? do they call them trolleys? i can't remember. anyhow, buses and trolleys. and free Comic-Con related buses too. anyhow, good bus and trolley (?) system. we rented a car last time and only used it to go to... SeaWorld? and Wal-Mart. we stayed in Chula Vista, took the trolley (?) to San Diego, and walked to the Zoo if i remember right. think we took a bus to the San Diego Zoo.

if you're a Zoo-goer, there's a good three or four day pass you can get to the Zoo, SeaWorld, and some kind of Animal Park.

comic-con can get FREAKISHLY crowded but just about everyone is in a good mood (except in the FREAKISHLY long lines).

My only miss so far was Rhianna over Allison Stoke ... gonna hurt in the 2nd round too, because I think that Stoke's a cutie and had her as a Sweet 16 darkhorse. Not gonna hurt me as much as Ally's gonna be hurt by picking against Erin Nordgerin in the first round, I think. Lots of matches coming up with girls I've never heard of.

I'm surprised that Katherine Heigel is a #1 seed. Is she that popular? Maybe it's the female vote. I have her going out in the 2nd against Molly Sims, and I had even thought about having her upset by skanky ol' Tila Tequila.

Jordan said...

So far I've gotten 2 wrong. The Rhianna-Stoke matchup along with the stupid battle of the Kates, Hudson and Beckinsale. Ally missing out on Mrs. Tiger Woods is going to hurt indeed. She is a lock to make at least the elite 8. Jessica Biel will be tough, but like I've said in the past, the people here love Mrs. Tiger. She's been in it 3 years, and has made the final all 3, losing in it each time.

So new BSG tonight. Hopefully something actually happens. While I haven't disliked the first couple episodes, I would like to see some developments. The Cylon stuff from last ep was interesting. But on the Battlestar, it's been a lot of fuss about nothing. Who cares about Apollo retiring? Who cares to see Starbuck and the President not seeing eye to eye? We get it.

Trevor McFur said...

I have Mrs. Woods in the Final Four, losing out to Gisele. My FF are Mrs. Woods, Gisele, ScoJo, and the upset special Molly Sims, with ScoJo over Gisele FTW.

[ally] said...

The reason I missed that is because I had no idea who she was. I may be the only one that doesn't know who she is. And now I must pay the price, I guess.

:/

* is it possible to see everyone else's picks now?
* i got played on the Rhianna over Allison Stokke round too. Even though i'd never heard of her before, I think Allison Stokke is a super cutie and Rhianna, who I am familiar with, looks like a praying mantis. Also, part of my strategy in picking was too skew more blonde & less "ethnic" whenever possible.
* i hope i win money for this because i'm certainly going to hell for objectifying women.

i got four wrong... gutted. i've got Ivanka Trump going to the final but being beat by jessica alba... I'm starting to think having ivanka going that far was a bad idea...

scrdmnkydst said...

Hmm. I've just seen a trailer for a new Britcom film called Three & Out, starring Mackenzie Crook from the British Office. Weird thing was, the narrator in the trailer sounded incredibly like Ghostwatch.........

How peculiar.

I hope that my own personal preference for brunettes doesn't hurt me in the end.

I feel old when looking at the field ... half the women I don't even know, and I'm still outraged over the fact the Alyssa Milano, J Lo, and Jennifer Love Hewitt didn't make it.

Where is Holli's review of Sarah Marshall?

memphish said...

On the previous page I guess Steph. We're sitting 19 rows behind home plate at Fenway right now. And Dice K is pitching. Go Sox!

Stephanie said...

Oh, the review is here on page two. Less than a week until new Lost. Yay.

Jordan said...

"Rhianna, who I am familiar with, looks like a praying mantis"

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I totally agree! I don't get her AT ALL!

Trevor, I'm exactly the same as you with the preference for brunettes. Which makes it hard when most of the world just loves the blondes. And all 3 of your faves that you mentioned not being in it are all old staples from past contests. I myself am a big Alyssa Milano fan.

I really went out of my way this year to ignore my personal preferences. I would've had Jessica Biel winning it all. But instead I had her losing to Mrs. Tiger, who I actually have winning the whole thing. I can't emphasize enough just how insanely popular she is in this contest. Like Ally, the first year she was in it, I had no clue who she was. Yet she always does amazing. The rest of my final 4 is ScoJo, Heigl, and Giselle.

And just a reminder. There is a side game you can play besides the bracket picking. Click on where it says "Emerald Downs Sports Book". Each day you can vote on the next day's matchup based on a point spread. You start out with a pretend $3,000. You can make wagers on the upcoming day's contests, as well as make future bets. For example, you can put money down on certain contestants to either make the final four or to win the whole thing. There are additional prizes hooked up directly to this side game. Here's the instructions to how it works:

And here is a list of prizes for the overall game:

Andrew, sadly I don't think we can see each other's picks. Kinda lame.

I have been trying to watch The Assassination of Jesse James the past week. While beautifully shot and very well done and acted, holy crap this movie is long and slow. I think I have fallen asleep watching it about 4 times now.

Herlihy :"Weird thing was, the narrator in the trailer sounded incredibly like Ghostwatch......... "

I did do a voiceover course in 1997, but I don't think I've been Sleep Voiceovering.

It's probably just Peter Dickson, the bloke who started doing the E4 voiceovers after the superb Patrick Allen died.

Alternatively, it's me. Whichever you want to believe.

Do I know too much about voiceover performers?

Trevor McFur said...

Jordan, I had to watch 'The Assassination...' over three different nights because I kept falling asleep. And I did like it ... the cinematography had this dream-like quality to it that really worked, I thought. And I can't emphasize enough how much I liked the score. Just beautiful and haunting.

scrdmnkydst said...

but... but... the e4 voiceovers sound exactly the same... i can't remember a time when that guy wasn't doing it... unless the new guy is doing an impersonation of the old guy... hmm..

but yeah, i genuinely did think it was you. you have that sort of voice... sort of eerie/old school bbc eccentric.

Holli, when you take a break from doing cool things, can you elaborate on the full frontal male nudity of Sarah Marshall?
Next week, you all or y'all can expect a review of Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay from me. Can't wait.

Jordan said...

Yeah, all the reviews for FSM that I have read, watched, or heard so far all make it a point to talk about the frontal nudity. Apparently it makes an impression.

PalmerEldritch said...

new Who tonight. too bad i saw it last december.

thanks, magic box. thagic box!

full frontal MALE nudity? is it at least balanced out by some nekkid ladies?

my bracket picks are not based on personal preference but instead a (false?) presupposition that radio listeners like blondes and jailbait. and LOVE blonde jailbait.

trevor, jordan, good taste. brunettes ftw.
