New thread!

New Dharmalars?????

I'll repost my warning about the ABC promo from the last thread.......

Watch out for the current ABC promo for Lost, it includes a pretty major spoiler about this week's episode.

/pissed about unintentional spoilage

Looks like Giacchino will be signing CDs on the 10 of may in Burbank!!!!! Guess who is gonna be there?! ME!

KABLAMO!!!

Ralph- said...

Trevor, i mentioned in the last thread that there was going to be a new dharmalars on Friday... A Very Special Episode in fact.

Trevor McFur said...

I saw that, but was hoping for some premature Dharmalartion.

Ralph- said...

Friday is the day!

I just read this!

"Disc One of this Season 3 soundtrack contains the best music from the season up to the two-hour finale. Disc Two features the complete original score from the two-part finale episode Through The Looking Glass."

memphish said...

Wow! That sounds great Ralph.

Did the Cloverfield music ever come out?

DVR update--NBC is moving 30 Rock to 9:30 pm Eastern AFTER The Office. According to my cable system 30 Rock will air this Thursday from 9:31-10:01 and LOST will air from 10:02-11:00. (All times Eastern.) So make your recording decisions accordingly.

I also want to add that they Season 3 art still creeps me out with all those digitally altered eyes. What was up with that? Like Nikki and Paolo and the 6 episode cage arc, another bad S3 decision.

"Roar" the Cloverfield Overture is coming out soon, i bet that it comes out tomorrow when the DVD is released. Casey D sent me a ripped copy of the version of the 9 min. version.

Ralph- said...

I am sure ben will be excited to hear that the Instrumental version of Shambala that Giacchino arranged will be included in the soundtrack.

yay!!! new lost this week!!! it seemed like an endless hiatus, at least now we can say it's in a few days.

did everybody have a good weekend?

Stephanie said...

I went to a free carnival and got sunburned on Saturday and worked all day yesterday. What do you do to have such a nice weekend, Ally?

Trevor McFur said...

Steph, when your avatar is tiny loke that, it kind of looks like Chevy Chase.

[ally] said...

I didn't really do anything this weekend. I went out with some friends Saturday night, didn't get home til almost 5 in the morning.

And yesterday I just stayed home and recovered from said Saturday night. I'm actually more tired today than I was yesterday.

PalmerEldritch said...

weekend was OK.

went to a BBQ on saturday and am now living off of pulled pork and potato salad leftovers. mmm... leftovers!

[ally] said...

those are some worthy leftovers. i haven't had bbq in a while. sounds like i might be hitting up a bbq place this weekend, which shouldn't be hard to find around here.

Jordan said...

My weekend absolutely blew. I was home sick then entire time. And I am actually supposed to be on "vacation" from work. Funny how crap like this always seems to happen. I need to get myself out of the apartment at some point today. It looks nice out and I've been stuck inside the past 3 days.

Bigger Dance update. Trevor and Andrew currently lead the group with a current score of 11 out of 12. Myself and Ally are 1 point back. Tomorrow should be interesting for me. I have a couple of upset specials lined up. With Elliot Sptizer's hooking over Ali Larter (not too sure about that one) and the chick from The Hills over Kate Walsh (your prototypical chick who women find hot, but men really don't). And for as much as I don't want to see it, I'm thinking that Jenna Fischer get routed by the SI swimsuit model.

I still can't get over Andrew's comparison of Rihanna to a praying mantis. lol. The first thing that popped into my head was this image. lol.

Trevor McFur said...

Went to a beer fest on Saturday ... 4 hours, all the microbrews you can drink, plus pulled pork, backed beans, and other bbq-type foods. Good times, had to have the wife come and get me at the end...

Trevor McFur said...

I think that Spitzer's hooker over Ali Larter wouldn't surprise me at all (I think that I chose Ali, though, couldn't resist the 2nd round matchup of the Heroes' babes). I also like Heidi whatever over Kate Walsh; I'd never heard of either of them.

Anonymous said...

Uh oh. Grey's is coming back on Thursday as well. Oh no! What do I choose? Grey's or The Office and 30 Rock??

Damned writer's strike. If it had never happened, I wouldn't be so hooked on The Office and 30 Rock, and I wouldn't be in this dilemma, now would I?

Gillian's Choice: how will she decide?

Ralph- said...

i just watched ASSSSCAT on dvd and Kate Walsh was one of the Monologists and i have no idea who she is.

Question for the Mac users out there -- does ABC.com, NBC.com, hulu, etc. work on a Mac? I know that Netflix instant viewing does not. I'm getting a new computer this weekend as it is tax-free weekend in Tennessee and I'm leaning Mac.

Blogspot challenge--convince me--Mac or PC?

Holli

[ally] said...

Holli, I'm able to watch pretty much anything except for Netflix. But abc.com, nbc.com and whatever else I've tried, seems to work fine.

I've been dying to get me an iMac. I have a Powerbook at home and a G5 at work.

mb said...

I am so in need of an iMac. As soon as that tax refund arrives....:)

P.S. What happens to Mac you ask? I'm having his consciousness transplanted

PalmerEldritch said...

holli, Macs are prettier but if you're going to let the kid play with it while drinking juice you may want to go with a PC with a warranty that covers accidental spills and damage.

i know Dell has Complete Care to cover stuff like that and i think Sony has a warranty that covers accidental damage too. if yer gunna plunk down a grand on a laptop, it's nice to know you can get that kind of stuff covered under warranty if you need it.

although, some people can get homeowners insurance to cover stuff like that.

i've had my iBook for years now and never spilled anything on it. but i don't have kids or a dog or anything.

LOOOOOOOST!! oh yeeeeeeeah!!

/macho man

memphish said...

I have this weird kid that only drinks milk and water, and who isn't allowed to have it at the computer, so I think I'm safe there Palmer. I'm much more likely to spill wine on it.

Do you mean you have rules and your child minds you, Holli? How odd. We have those rules too. No food or drink at the computer. Only food and drink in the kitchen for that matter. How un-American of us.
I'd say if you're not planning on making music, videos or recording podcasts a mac might be over-kill. But then again, macs are cool. I need either a mac or a used pc since my fancy, new Dell with Vista can't record podcast adequately.

memphish said...

Yes Steph. For the most part he minds. And he pretty much gives himself away when he hasn't. He's quick to confess. Of course, all this could just be lulling us into a false sense of security for those teen years.

As for the recording and music stuff, in part that's why I'm leaning Mac. They have Macs at his school, and he could do extra-curriculars in podcasting and film editing on the Mac and then we could see it at home. I also like the lack of tower, and of course their cool commercials. I have a concierge appointment at the Apple store on Friday, so hopefully they'll answer all my concerns and by next week I'll be coming to you from a new iMac.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

ooooooooooh... iMac? ok, pretty tough to spill on one of those (although i wouldn't put it past some kids). i was thinking laptop for some reason.

another day closer to new LOST. sweet.

Bruce Campbell interview. Where is the Chin book?

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

so, Bruce is a pot-head? huh.

Stephanie said...

Ok, Holli, go for the mac.

Holli, just go for the mac, you won't be disappointed.

Hey BSG fans. Did you know episodes 4.4 and 4.5 are on Hulu already?

I finished Season 1 last night. I loved the last 3 episodes and I'm trying very, very hard not to go to Blockbuster to get S2, but to wait until Netflix delivers it.

Holli

Trevor McFur said...

Holli, posting the Death Star groom cake reminded me of this Scott and Steve classic, the bride wedding cake.

PalmerEldritch said...

holli, that's hilarious that Hulu think that those are out already. unfortunately, it's just that Hulu thought that Season 4 began on Episode 3. so, episode 3 is really episode 1, episode 4 is really 2, and 5 is really 3. that little Hulu mistake definitely got my hopes up though.

anyone having a crazy "Welcome Back, Lost" party?

memphish said...

So what are the other 2 episodes Palmer? They had 5 up total.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

they're the two-part season finale from last year. crossroads part 1 and 2.

glad that you are enjoying BSG. do you agree that the Mini-Series wasn't as good as Season 1?

i saw the Mini-Series and was pretty disapointed. saw the first episode of Season 1 and was hooked.

In a strange twist, Dr. Jack's head is now too BIG for his body! Stranded-On-Scary-Island Ken

PalmerEldritch said...

andrew., that is indeed freaky. it's the Jack Shepherd from DC Comic's Bizarro World, i guess.

check out this Jack Shepherd toy set. what's up with his companion there? the smoke munster?

memphish said...

I liked S1 better than the mini-series, but my attention span is bad. 3 hours of 1 story gets old. Plus of course you're hampered by the need for exposition to explain what's going on.

Holli

andrew. said...

- BSG: i remember flipping over to the mini-series when it first aired, watching 5 minutes of it and writing it off. Which is why it took me until Season 3 to give a real chance, and of course, now i'm listening to a BSG podcast as i type this.

- re: Kubrick Jack. That bear is a bearbrick, a toy from japan that they get artists and designers to make custom versions of. Most of them are more inspired than that LOST one. I own this one: PusHead Bearbrick

-Is it Thursday yet?

PalmerEldritch said...

i thought that the glowing spine stuff was pretty ridiculous and the random baby killing was pretty goofy. but i guess that the writers were still finding their space legs or some such, eh?

elias said...

BSG? Just keeding.

More suggestions for Jordan - my brother recommends Florence, Italy and Granada, Spain.

elias, love the avatar. got to find me a good Bender Bending Rodriguez avatar sometime.

watched Hell's Kitchen for the first time ever tonight. strange show.

we've been watching a couple episodes of Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America each week. fun show (mainly cuz of how ridiculous everyone involved is). but does anyone have any idea why Gordon Ramsay has to change his shirt in front of the camera every episode? :'\
