ok, mebbe not.

I vote NO for a Dwight spin-off. That's a good way to ruin both shows.

I feel ya, Holli. I get tired of Top Gear, Dirty Jobs, and Deadliest Catch taking up valuable DVR space. And he's not even watching it. Ugh.

PalmerEldritch said...

yeah, yanking Dwight from The Office might be disastrous. might make it a bit more realistic though. no one to convince that they're being contacted by a sentient web site.

[ally] said...

so what are we supposed to be calling this number for? a good time??

You beat me. You are the superior being.

Palmer...

Yes, the Love Quadrangle was a disaster for the show considering the fate of humanity was at stake, yet all they could do was have 3 episodes of "Lets make my wife/boyfriend/lover jealous.

As Adama would say...through griited eeth..."Do your job!"

My spelling (and lack of checking) has been abysmal this last couple of threads.

Here's what NBC has to say about The Office spinoff:

"From Greg Daniels, the Executive Producer of the Emmy Award-winning American version of NBC's 'The Office,' comes the most highly anticipated comedy of the season in 'The Office' spinoff. Audiences will follow another comic journey, complete with new faces and new locations, but with the same unique sense of humor and brand of quality from Daniels and his creative team. It's the next chapter of what viewers have come to know and love about 'The Office."

Also Jack Donaghy is going to have business classes on the 30 Rock website. I bet those will be useful. And ladies, Riggins will return, but not until February.

Here's a link if you want to see more.

Sorry, but I can't resist this little Heroes dig from Kristin:

Per the official release, "Heroes will come back with a bang owing to a major event in the fall." Will this bang be a nuclear explosion in New York City, or something else?

Holli

memphish said...

According to Kristin, The Office Spin-off exists in name only. So you might want to forward those ideas to Greg Daniels, Palmer.

Stephanie said...

Holli, I thought you were directing me to see more of Riggins.

Why do we need another Office? The one we have is fine. See Private Practice. Or so I hear.

memphish said...

Sorry Steph. If you need to see Riggins, check out the thread on the message board. There are nice images there as I'm sure you know.

Just rewatching season 3 of Lost. Just up to Stranger In A Strange Land. This has led me to question one thing.

Seeing as we've not had a Jack episode this season yet, and the finalé is supposed to be a double bill, it's safe to assume that the finalé will be a jack episode. Also, Bai Ling was supposed to have been contracted for three episodes... even though i think that may have been a bit of a fake out for the season 3 finalé.

Isn't it highly possible that Achara could pop up in Jack's flash forward/backs (whatever they may be)?

scrdmnkydst said...

Maybe, what with Bai Ling's shoplifting she'll be killed off..? This would work with the general killing off of actors who get in trouble with the law..

i don't see what's wrong with her... Sure she's a little skanky... but... hey... who isn't?

[ally] said...

For Steph & Holli

Trevor McFur said...

Even thought Bai says that she was supposed to be in 3 episodes, I don't think that confirmation of that ever came from the producers. We also have no reason to suppose that she has any idea of what the phrase '3 episodes' actually means.

Stephanie said...

I bet the show has guest stars contracted for a couple of episodes just in case the story goes their direction in the future. Just like, they have Nathan Fillion contracted for another episode. He might not be back but then again maybe he will. Hopefully, he will.

Geez. Of all days to be stuck actually doing work. I got absolutely murdered in that last thread. From Steph getting mad at me for calling her boyfriend gay, from Ralph for the Ultraviolet thing, and lastly Jimmy. Well played Sir James. And seriously Ralph. I am totally blaming you for Ultraviolet. It was down to that or SWAT, which I had already seen and really didn't like. And after you making Ultraviolet so famous over the past year, I simply couldn't resist. I now feel compelled to watch it asap and report back to the blogspot. Oh, and seeing as you guys were talking about tv shows in that last thread. I will say it again. WATCH THE WIRE!!! Trust me on this one. I have a couple more thoughts, but they will have to wait, as I am done with work! WOO HOO!

Stephanie said...

Jordan, I was only setting you straight. And as for Jimmy, I think you asked for that one.:)

Trevor McFur said...

Every time I see the title of this thread, I can't help but think of this....

Call it.

Jordan said...

It's all good Steph. I can take it. And for the record. I can totally understand why Jimmy would have thought that. Note the shirt I was wearing that day.

Jordan said...

I kid, I kid.

I really don't like the idea of an Office spin off. When we these greedy networks realize that there is such a thing as too much of a thing. You spread out a quality show too think like that and you only make things worse. At some point these damn networks need to stop squeezing every last ounce out of their cash cows. Cuz all they end up doing is killing the cow.

memphish said...

Gee, Jordan, now you're calling out the Brits on the blog. :)

The Wire is in my queue, but I'm saving it for the long drought that is Jun until LOST Season 5 starts. They've already set a release date for Season 5 of The Wire, and I believe it will be out before Season 2 of Dexter. In other words, HBO kicks Showtime's ass again.

Holli, It's ok for me to make British jokes. My mom is from London. It's like when somebody who is half black says that they can make black jokes. lol.

Jordan said...

And yes, just as lame of an excuse as in that analogy. lol.

So what's the deal with Jamie Bamber then? I did some googling earlier and apparently, while not gay, he is for some reason a huge gay icon. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (canned Seinfeld laugh track inserted here) Just curious how that happens when somebody is not gay themselves.

- i think we figured out last year that Bai Ling had mixed up the words "episodes" & "scenes" and we were luckily spared from more Achara.

- i don't think i want an Office spin-off, but then i didn't think i wanted an American remake of the Office either.

- i haven't seen that new Cindy-riffic KFC commercial yet. 'trying to decide who your favorite other is?' 'no, it's definitely Cindy.'

To further continue my ongoing blogversation with myself.

Anyone see South Park last night. Pretty funny parody of the writer's strike and how pointless it really was in the end. And how more was lost than one ultimately. That show is really good when it comes to the social commentary.

apparently, you play a character everyone thinks is a little whiny bitch on a scifi show.

although, i'm sure that being jacked beyond belief doesnt hurt.

• jordan, i have the wire in my queue, as a matter of fact i have disc 1 at home, finally! it had the longest wait on netflix. on another note: you look so glorious with that light shining from behind you, sir james must have thought he was looking at an angel. maybe that's why he got confused.

• andrew, i finally saw the cindyfied commercial the other night, she looks different, but in a good way. she's a total MILF, i hope you can catch it soon.

3 more spoilery thingies over at the SPLOG - one of which seems pretty juicy (if true).

ALSO,
going back to the last thread - I need to get an HDMI cable and looking on monoprice.com I see that there are different kinds - 24 AWG vs. 28 AWG, some are Category 2, and some are labelled "high quality".

So does anyone know, for use with an HD cable box (I don't do any gaming), how much of a difference do the different types make - is my picture going to look SIGNIFICANTLY better by using a "high quality cable? I just don't know what all the details mean.

and Beware the Kha'ak!!!

lol Jordan, you wannabe-Canadians have a good line in banter.

I'm on 2x7 of The Wire and it's good to finally see some crooked Greeks ;)

Jordan said...

Awesome Ally! I'm going to go make a Wire thread over on the forum. I think I'm going to re-watch it soon as I just bought the dvds.

Jordan said...

Bout time, eh Elias? lol.

And beware, my mom is Greek as well. So they aren't off limits either. lol.

[ally] said...

Cool, can't wait to start some discussin' on The Wire. I finally finished watching Oz, and loved it! So if anyone hasn't seen it, stick that in your queue.

Following up from the last thread...

Looks like only the 40GB PS is being manufactured now. $399, that's not bad. I've already ordered the HDMI cable. Now I just have to see if I can win over the wife...

Nice pic, and just so you know, it WAS the shirt!

I hope you, and all know, that yesterdays poke was all in fun...the thing about writing is sometimes the humour can be lost.

Anyway...great posting that pic, I never saw that one. I look kind of haggard! Like I'd had a night out with Bai Ling or something!

I don't think it was just the shirt, James.

and MB...(shakes head), but funny

my buddy at work showed me that video, mb. i couldn't help but laugh when i saw the Kha'aks.

a co-worker just asked me if i'm having a bad hair day.

that can't be good.

memphish said...

Poor Ally. Guess you should have worn that new TLI shirt to distract.

Holli

PalmerEldritch said...

ally, you should have said "my hair's normal. it's just that the rest of me looks so good today."

either that or bitchslapped them upside the head.

[ally] said...

yeah i think the TLI shirt would distract away from my hair, especially since it's a little tight in the frontal parts.
