I finally finished the comic con report. Sorry ralph but i don't get the gay island reference, and i am sorry. I lay down at the throne of random references, and i thank you for the shout out. I will double my studies.
Come back to us Craig, bring the SaS back or i will be forced to find a microphone and sit down with a friend and record something. And it won't be pritty :)
Brokeback motherfucken batman is what i have to say. I think some of the roles he has done have been ok. So maybe he will be amazing as the Joker. I am sure Nolan would have faith in him. Nolan is the man.
I just posted another comment at Craig's MySpace page. I think everyone should just barrage him with a huge number of posts and comments. Who knows, maybe he'll even enjoy the attention!
I had to add 2 new books to the Lost Library, that I wasn't aware of until recently, and I'm reading one of them right now. It's Homer's Odyssey, which I haven't read since the 9th grade.
Anyway, The Odyssey has some season 2 connections, namely between the story of Desmond and Penelope, so I'm really enjoying it. It may even give us some clues.
Thinking about Des & Pen has gotten me excited again about season 3, I think we should have another Lost-related podcast - Ralph?
shit mike, i dont even remember the reference i made. i will have to listen to the episode again and figure it out. do you remember the words that i said?
i think that craig might be on a vacation, but it would be nice to hear from him. i am sure he is not avoiding us on purpose. maybe he called Cuse' number, and the LOST police arrested him.
Yeah i bought the dvd of them. I haven't seen them in awhile. i will have to watch them once more. My signature on other message boards is "nothing can kill the grimace"
Ralph and I finally saw Clerks II. I can't believe it took us that long, since we're both big Kevin Smith fans (no matter how much it ruins our credibility) but between ComicCon and bills and such, we just had to put it off.
The Ellen as a guest star reference from Clerks: The Animated Series is not only a reference to the style of audience questions Ralph and I were lampooning all weekend, but also a line performed by Brian Posehn, if we remember correctly.
Ralph, send me the picture of me full-size, por favor.
What did you think of clerks 2? I liked it a lot. I saw it twice and laughed harder when i saw it the second time. Its different from the first one, with a different feel, but still enjoyed it. I loved Elias, thought he was a great addition. And i only kinda wanted to punch dawson in the face.

Someone needs to move to Little Rock so I'll have someone to go to the movies with. My husband and I are total opposites when it comes to interests. Basically anything even remotely independent he considers "gay". I probably won't get to see Clerks II until it's out on DVD...
There was one guy in the L.dot who used to post here, but I haven't heard from him since the finale; Russ..where'd you go??
Mike, I really liked it. It was faithful to the established characters, but took them in a new direction. It made me laugh, and it made me think, and it was a fairly good mix of Smith's overly wordy dialogue and actual delivery. I don't know what your problem is with Rosario Dawson. I think she's amazing. I will have to watch it again to see where I put it in ranking his movies, but it has a chance to beat out J&SBSB.
And I too saw Ralph's credit. But not my own, if indeed I have one. The myspace credits ran at the very end, after all the union and product logos. I think the lights even came on for a second before dimming again to start the fan lists. Which was huge and fast, by the way.
aimee - you might have to tough it out and go by yourself i sware its worth it, and if i have to i will mail you the 10 bucks so you husband can see it for free. Who will pass on a free movie?
i didnt see my name. oh well. i enjoyed the movie. it was totally kevin smith's way of spilling his feelings out on the big screen, but i laughed a lot and had a really good time. i guess i was in the right mood.
aimee, listen to mike on this one. there is no shame going to the movies by yourself. i have done it several time, and i have to tell you. it is sort of nice, especially if you go early in the day. it is the closest thing you have to daydreaming when you were a kid in school. i recommend it highly. shit i would go to the movies now, if stevi werent so damn interested in seeing the movies that i do. i think that i married a normal person, and converted her to nerd.
I wondered about Katie, because she's on my AOL messenger, and I see her come online a lot, I just never say anything to her. Maybe she just got too cool for the SaS.
I've gone to the movies by myself, but so far to only the LOTR trilogy. I made the mistake of bringing Brian along with me to the premiere of The Return of the King, and for THREE AND A HALF HOURS, this is what I get:
"Psshh, this is gay." "Oh, yeah right." "Gaaaa, this is so gay." "Tsskksshh, man this is gay." "Oh, what-ever."
He completely ruined my first viewing of one of the greatest movies of all time. After that, I went to the theater by myself and saw ROTK about 4 or 5 more times.
Brian is way too close-minded to convert to nerdyism, so I wouldn't even try. I found a theater playing Clerks II that closer than the big cinema at the mall, so maybe tomorrow when he's working, I'll treat myself.
Aimee - i almost peed my pants during that scene. Just wait. I don't want to ruin anything so we can chat about it when you get back from it, but its great.
I just watched Miami Vice. I thought it was ok. They threw in a love story for Colin Farrell's character that didn't need to be in it. So the middle of the movie is a love story. I thought it felt out of place and could have shaved 30 minutes from the film. Other then that it was great. When there was action it was very violent like Munich was when it got going. Very graphic shots, but enjoyable.
I used to go to the movies a MINIMUM of 3 times per week when I lived in Wisconsin w/ my best friend Joe. He loved every kind of movie. We ditched my sister when she was giving birth to see a movie, I think it was Seven. It was SO worth it; Seven was awesome.
since we have been told we are going to be following Jack Sawyer and Kate to the Other's Home Turf, where do you guys think that is? Are they staying in another hatch or did they make tree forts? I am thinking they have been there for awhile so maybe they built houses. Also Dharma could have had a base camp set up and they use that. Maybe a few cabins.
I think the "Others" have a boat and they're waiting there at Pala Ferry for it. And there base is on another island nearby with plenty of Dharma facilities.
I agree Mike - Seven is way better than a human birth.
Well, if there's no possible way these Others' are found on the island, wouldn't a logical deduction be that they don't actually live on the island? If Rousseau can roam the island for 16 years and NEVER find them, what would you conclude from that? Furthermore, the existence of the Pala Ferry dock only leads me to believe this even more; that the real Others don't live there on the island. If they do, it's either underground or underwater, but definitely not on the surface.
In reference to Carltunt's quote from the Lost panel, the Rousseau comment is based solely on the assumption that she HAS actually been there for 16 years. Which I'm beginning to doubt now, because of what Carltunt said. However, Alex looked to be about that age, if that's in fact Danielle's daughter, so who the fuck knows.
I'm very excited about seeing the off-the-island scenes, like with Penelope. Can we assume she won't get to the island because if she did it would be the end of the show? I wonder if they're going to drag out her first appearance through the first several episodes, like they did with Desmond in season 2. That would REALLY be shitty to do it to us twice.
I can see Penelope getting to the island and thats how it ends. Maybe she tries to save them but they are too crazy to leave or something. Cause seeing polar bears, smoke monsters and dead fathers has to mess people up.
i still believe that Henry and the gang are not Dharma. They are "The Good Guys" remember? they dress up in fake outfits to fool someone, who? i feel that they are trying to blend it with the real threat on the island, the "other" others (aka Dharma). i feel that the "Henry Gang" are an extreme greenpeace type organization, that originaly went to the island to stop the inhumane experiments run by the dharma organization. as far as the episode "maternity leave" goes, i think that is the real kink in the chain. i have a feeling that we need to look at that episode again. i think that there is a lot more going on there, than we noticed on the surface. i still believe that claire's visions were not really what happened, just as libby stated. but something is up with Gale and his gang, and i dont think it is as simple as they are bad people who are a threat. if that were the case, this would not be LOST.
Or they could be the people that Dharma was messing with and they took over. Maybe they killed the Dharma workers, or got them to leave the island. I was just saying that i think the Others are chillin where dharma once stayed.
Also i think there is only one group of others. Everything we have seen makes me think they are all working together.
ben, you do realize that by you watching the mini series, that you just let the network know that there are peole watching, and that it might make for a good regualr series.
For the record, I'm with Ralph on his take on Henry Gale and his people. I think they're not to be feared. At least, not as much as the real "Others." Henry and his people may be ruthless, but ultimately I'm sure we'll see that they're trying to do the right thing, even if it means doing the wrong thing along the way. Although, Ethan Rom's behavior's going to take a lot of justifying.

craig asked that i put up some pictures of ben and i recording, so here you go, let's just hope that he pops in and says hi.

I've been out of commission today with yet another migraine. At least it didn't cause me to miss my follow-up at the neurologist tomorrow.
Where the f is Craig? I haven't seen or heard from him since he posted a comment at my MySpace profile.
Come back to us Craig, bring the SaS back or i will be forced to find a microphone and sit down with a friend and record something. And it won't be pritty :)
Aimee - I hope everything is ok, well as best as it can be with migraines. I hope you get good news from the doctor.

you said something like "when is ellen going to have a guest spot on the gay island"
oh, ben said that. it is from the Clerks Cartoon. if you havent seen it, i recomend you pick it up, it is really fun!
Yeah i bought the dvd of them. I haven't seen them in awhile. i will have to watch them once more. My signature on other message boards is "nothing can kill the grimace"

Next time, I'll just have to remember to marry a nerd like me.
Aimee, that's pretty funny.

ben, i will send that picture right now!
speaking of missing people, whatever happened to Katie, Dylan, Craig, Chad, Alex and Everyone else?
it has been us four, for like the past month.
I wondered about Katie, because she's on my AOL messenger, and I see her come online a lot, I just never say anything to her. Maybe she just got too cool for the SaS.

You guys are the best!
I really want to hear this Star Wars vs. LOTR debate that is supposed to be in the movie..
Aimee - i almost peed my pants during that scene. Just wait. I don't want to ruin anything so we can chat about it when you get back from it, but its great.

did anyone else go see it?
Aw, Mike, now I want to see it even more!! I need to make some freaking local friends.
When I get my new job, I'll have to request one of the MYOKOM w/SAS cities for my assignment.
I used to go to the movies a MINIMUM of 3 times per week when I lived in Wisconsin w/ my best friend Joe. He loved every kind of movie. We ditched my sister when she was giving birth to see a movie, I think it was Seven. It was SO worth it; Seven was awesome.

Any ideas?
that movie is better then the birth of a child :)

this is the greatest thing ever.

You can have sam jackson call up your friends and invite them to Snakes on a Plane. I am doing it to everyone i know. I even called the SaS line
I can see Penelope getting to the island and thats how it ends. Maybe she tries to save them but they are too crazy to leave or something. Cause seeing polar bears, smoke monsters and dead fathers has to mess people up.
Mike, I just came here to say that I'd sent Ralph a SOAP call. Funny how that viral shit spreads, huh?

Is everyone excited to Finish the Nightmares and Dreamscapes tonight. I have still only seen the first two but i have taped them all
I'm still here Aimee, I tried sending you messages but myspace has been acting up lately.
I can't wait to watch the last of that Nightmares and Dreamscapes show. Then it'll all be over and I'll be safe.
Anyone see the movie PRIMER?
ben, you do realize that by you watching the mini series, that you just let the network know that there are peole watching, and that it might make for a good regualr series.
And I'd have to watch it week after week! NOOOO!!
