i will do what i can aimee! i have so many stories! if i were all of you, i would keep your eyes peeled for jay and jack's vidcast!!! we recorded the whole lost panel, minus the stuff they showed on the video moniters. i did end up asking a question, but it was not what you may have expected. i decided to ask nicely, due to some people before me BLASTING the second season. i sort of felt bad. there was also the unfortunate event in which Carlton Cuse revealed that we have something in common. it devistated me to no end. watching carlton and damon interacting in person is a whole different ball of wax, it seems that they pull their BS to make each other feel uncomfortable. everyone in attendance felt the same way. i am not going to go listen to their podcast, but i do feel that they are not as bad as they seem. but they still kind of suck. more to come tomorrow. keep an eye on the dharmalars myspace page.
thats cool ralph, glad to hear they are not total jerks. Darn video podcasts, for some reason my computer has declaired war on the new quicktime and will not install it. its the weirdest thing ever. but i can use my girlfriend's computer i think. Glad it hear it was good times!
Yes, that was his intended question, but Ralph just said that he didn't ask that, or that it "was not what you may have expected", so I'm curious to know what he did ask.
I'm off to the neurologist now...why is it that I'm so sure they will accomplish nothing? Hmm. Pessimism, I suppose.
while waiting for the panel to start, i started to get nervous. i had come up with about 10 different questions to ask. i noticed that a lot of people were asking questions that only the creators would be able to answer, so as i was waiting in line to get on the mic, i decided that i really wanted to get jorge and daniel to answer a question, the room was filled to capacity which was more than 4,500 screaming fans, some of which included people who recognized me and ben from Dharmalars podcast (that was neat). so i decided with all the pressure, to ask an easy question.
my question was to Jorge and Daniel.
Me- Being fans of the show, do you guys have any of your own theories?
Jorge- i just rely on the fans to post the crazy theories.
Me- do you have a favorite?
Jorge- **answer to come soon**
carlton was asked about what kind of music he listens to while he writes. As it turns out Carlton likes to listen to the film composer John Powell, while he writes. as many of you all know, i am a writer, and i LOVE film scores, and you will notice in my Blogspot Profile, i list John Powell as one of my favorites. he is a young composer that is not that well known...so it shocked me to find out that carlton had my exact taste in music. and so i also asked Carlton, which Powell score he listened to, and he replied The Bourne Supremecy, which is my favorite John Powell score...so, that happened. more to come!
sounds logical to me. only a spawn of satan would go to such lengths! CLICK HERE so see some pictures. subscribe to the blog for updates. we will put up more pics, as the week goes on.
by the way aimee, that artwork was sold at the con for $7,000+ . nowhere did it mention Josh Halloway, but we knew. i just thought it was a funny ass picture. i am sure Josh would find it hilarious.
Ralph did very well with his question and his fear of public speaking. So, he can hardly be blamed for the fact that he slipped up and called Jorge Garcia "Hurley."
The Lost panel was great. They showed clips from the DVD, and revealed that one of the special features will be a piece where they strang together every Sawyer nickname and insult throughout the course of the first two seasons. The behind-the-scenes footage of the Sawyer/Hurley fight was great.
As usual, fans tried to get attention by being jerks: "First season was nominated for a lot of Emmys, but the second season wasn't. Were you surprised? Because I wasn't." WEAK. Do you think we're impressed by your pot-stirring? Because I wasn't.
The Lost Experience thing was awkward, but kind of cool, I guess? I don't know. Basically, it really bugged me. More on that later.
OMG, if Ralph called Jorge "Hurley", I want proof! Someone must have a tape of it!!
Great job Ralph, I totally wish I was there with you. Great question; I can't wait to hear their answers. Can you give us a hint; was it something we've discussed before at MYOKOM w/SAS?
For the record, I would probably pay $7,000 if I had it to blow on cool shit like that.
I also like film composers, but mostly the big budget, sappy, overdramatic ones like Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore. I went through a phase in high school where the only music I listened to were film soundtracks.
For Carlton Cuse to come out and say that he listens to film scores, and that John Powell is one of his favorites was one of the greatest things that could have happened at that moment. It's hard for me to describe why it was so perfect. Ralph was trying so hard to have a hate-on for this dude, but then the dude came from nowhere and said something that made him exactly like Ralph. I loved it.
For reals, Ralph didn't call anyone "Hurley." I just thought it would be funny to pretend he did, because he was so concerned that he might slip up and say it.
The theory that Jorge discussed following Ralph's question was not entirely unfamiliar to me, but the best part was that Damon totally debunked it in a way that had severe impact on the Lost universe.
Ralph and I are still trying to make sure we don't hijack the SAS feed entirely, but he did mention something about maybe putting together a podcast on Tuesday. Ideally we'll do one that goes with our photos so we can share them all at once.
darn them and all the power! aimee we must unite and make a group for those of us who don't go cool places. and then we can talk about how sitting on the couch for a few hours is cool...
That's right, Aimee. Hearing Ralph's actual question is more like the steak dinner, but talking about Carlton Cuse's Ralph-Similarities is the fried mozarella sticks. With a little "Ralph called Jorge Hurley" marinara sauce.
I am so hungry for a MYOKOM w/SAS-Dharmalars ribeye with a few extra mozzarella sticks, because that shit sounds hilarious. Wait until Notahowiefan reads about it; he was the one in defense of CC.
that made my weekend. when my friend told me that they announced that, i was stoked. that is what comic con is all about. there is no way you can hit all the panels, but it is cool to hear rumblings from around the con.
aimee, just so you know, hans zimmer is a hack. i dont say this to be mean, i say this to be informative. i am sure he is a good composer, but he is lazy. if you look at the credits for pirates 2, he had 7 additional composers do the score with him, yet he took the "music by" credit. howard shore is GREAT! i highly recomend James Newton Howard! i will slip you some of his tracks on IM! you would love it, especially if you are into the great sweeping epic sounding scores.
Firstly, like many here, I am really getting very excited. Ben, Ralph...you guys fucking rock for all this. I really mean it.
Like all, I am looking forward to the feed, and am enjoying the blog...the only sad thing is I might be "forced" to have to join MySpace :)
I've been lying low for a bit, but there are all kinds of reasons, and it's nice to see all this going on. I was getting rather Lost starved. But here's the bit where I make enemies (and maybe a friend or two).
Cinematic scores:
These have always been a huge part of my life, mainly as there was a time when music was actually my career (pre-analyst/dogsbody). And I have to agree with Ralph's message to Aimee, re Hans Zimmer. I have actually called him a hack many times myself for the same kind of reasons mentioned. He also has a tendency to channel Wagner whenever he can, but in an even more bloated way...he is the Joel Schumacher of composers. There, I said it. Sorry, Aimee :(
Agree with Howard Shore. My personal faves tend to vary, but I have a soft spot for Bernard Hermann , John Barry, Russell Garcia's time machine score, occasionally Jerry Goldsmith.
On a related note...Her Majesty's Secret Service quite possibly has the best (and most diverse) Bond music (John Barry, again). Didn't Ralph say that once too, or was it a chat I had at the pub during World Cup? Anyway...it's been a slice. Jimmy.
Jimmy, I'm very much picking up what you're putting down. I like me some Herrmann, and John Barry really makes some of those early Bond films. I'm not very discriminating, though. I mean, I think I can see where you guys are coming from with the "hack" comments, but then I'll say, "Wow, I really like the music in Gladiator." And then Ralph will list the other five movies I can watch and hear essentially the same score.
ben, the only cue that i like from gladiator, is "the Battle", which i found out later to sound practically identical to Holtz' "Mars". so i would rather listen to that. i think that the Zimmer scores to Ridley Scott films, ie gladiator, do not use the use of additional composers. Jimmy, you are great! one of my favorite scores is Vertigo by Bernard Herrmann. OHMSS is Barry's best score ever, with You Only Live Twice coming in at a close second. north by northwest is great!
i would love to meet a composer one of these days.
I can't believe you two (Ralph & Jimmy) apologized for not liking something I did; it's wonderful to respectfully have different opinions without hacking each other to pieces. I have unrefined taste compared to your knowledgable descriptions; I just know what's pleasing to my ears.
You're right Ralph, I do enjoy those sweeping, epic soundtracks. You should send me the tracks you mentioned; I'd love to hear them!
I think LOTR/ROTK is one of my favorite soundtracks period, though I often play the whole trilogy's soundtrack on random on my iPod. My favorite tracks are any of the Rohirrim/Eorlingas tracks, but you know me, I'm a total sap.
I never really got into that many soundtracks, but one of the first that i loved was the Jurassic Park Sountrack. I still listen to that a lot. and the Suite from Forrest Gump, but i am a hack at knowing anything about soundtracks
there is some footage from the lost panel that Jay and I shot. Check it out at jayandjack.com! that should tide you over until i can get our podcast out
I think the healing powers of the Island are going to start to fade away because of desmond switching the key. I think it will start with locke losing his legs again like when they were close to the plane. Then that episode will give us the flashback of how he lost use of his legs.
Although this is highly off topic, I have nearly finished the first of 4 Lost-themed jigsaw puzzles(the hatch) said to contain spoilers. When I finish, I will send a picture of it to the scott and steve email account in case he wants to put it up.
Notahowiefan, are you just being an antagonist for the sake of it? Or do you really not like Ralph? I'm having trouble reading you.
Mike, that's an interesting theory, because it sounds like it would go well with how they would set themselves up to tell that story (how he lost the use of his legs). I think regardless of how it happened, someone else we know will be a part of it.
Ralph, I understand your points about how CC seems to talk about his fans on the podcast; he can be quite condescending. In fact, I don't think there's been anyone he hasn't been that way towards, when he reads their mail/question.
Nick, where did you find these puzzles?? I want to see!!
Notahowiefan: I know for a fact Ralph likes sarcastic, funny people. This is exemplified by his bedroom shrine to Bruce Vilanch. As for his mass mind reading skills, Ralph and I once attended a sporting event. Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll: Part 2" began to play on the public address system. Ralph predicted the crowd would shout "hey" at various intervals throughout the song. I was chilled when his prediction came true.
Mike Campbell: Great Lost theory. It certainly be an interesting development to the show. How would they face the challenge of once again being afflicted? What would they do to bring the healing powers of the island back? Would Locke feel compelled to make a sacrifice to the island?
Nick: Looking forward to the pic. It sounds better than the usually puzzle subject matter of "kittens in a basket" and "Dora the Explorer."
WHAT?!?! isn't that the species chick. why can't they cast little known actors, its not like having names like "Michelle Rodriguez" and her boost ratings. It has a loyal fan base. Silly lost!
jay was funny. when i came back to the table he was laughing ,and told me that it was staying in. it just goes to show you how crazy things can get at comic con.
Soundtracks? Batman was a favourite when i was a kid, or Top Gun. And here's a controversial one: Days of Thunder. Maybe it was just the moment, maybe it was the wine, but it's a great soundtrack to shag to.
...and kudos to Ralph and Ben - what extraordinary fun you seemed to have had! We have a Comic Con over here in London, but i missed it, hopefully it's annual, and hopefully i'll get there next year! But it's probably bollocks knowing us, maybe a couple of market stalls selling shit versions of comics (Jesus, is my glass half empty today or what?! i'm going back to bed....)
Tim (and anyone else), I have to say that I hate Tom Cruise - and not like, Tom Cruise in the last couple of years when he turned into a freak - I've NEVER liked him. There is something about him that gives me the heebie jeebies, and his smile is the most annoying thing in this world next to Carrot Top.
Let's put it this way. I feel about Tom Cruise the same way that notahowiefan feels about Kevin Smith.
When I was 6 years and Top Gun first premiered, I had the BIGGEST crush on Anthony Edwards. I wonder what that says about my personality.
aimee, i felt the same way about tom cruise, but i thought he was awesome in magnolia, collateral, war of the worlds and MI:3. i still dont like his old stuff. he is a psycho in real life, but i have been more forgiving of his movies of late.
i heard that there is yet another LOST casting anouncement over at www.darkhorizons.com . these people have to be "others" or posibly some sort of task force of Penny's.
I wattched the Ron Livingston episode of Nightmares and Dreamscapes last night. Anyone see that yet?
And I watched Lady in the Water last night as well.
We were offered free screening tickets for Monster House and Accepted last weekend, but we didn't really have time for either. For some reason they were promoting Accepted with a dude dressed as a sandwich, and another dude wearing a costume that really looked like something naughty to me. You know, the male contribution to creating a fertilized embryo? Since I didn't go to the screening, I can't say for certain what either costume has to do with the movie, but it sure was funny.
Tim, I don't like the would-be doctor types so much as I like the underdog. Tom Cruise was "the man", and Anthony Edwards was the sidekick comic relief. I liked going for the guy that not everyone else was after. I never went for the "hearthrobs", I went for the guy standing next to him, because more often than not, that guy is WAY cooler.
Ralph, as much as I hated to admit it, I did like War of the Worlds, but that's the only Tom Cruise film that comes to mind where I didn't want to throw things at him.
Thanks for the Season 3 info too; I wonder if Kate's decision will be neither one of them. We expect to actually choose one, so my suspicions will be that there won't be one. But if she did, my money's on Sawyer. She seems to be the only one that can save him, and I want him to be saved.
Ben, does it air on a different night over there? I thought it came on Wednesday night.
Ralph, I just watched the Jay & Jack vidcast; nicely done! When are they going to post part 2? How many parts are there?
I laughed when Damon got a bigger cheer from the crowd than CC, but was surprised not to hear "boos" coming from you behind the camera. Jorge Garcia got the biggest cheer of all, which was awesome.
jay said that part 2 should be up around monday. i cant remember if damon said one or the other. i would really like to see kate start to hook up with jack. i have this theory that Sawyer will be the only one left on the island when all is said and done. i have this image in my head of sawyer standing near the wreckage of 815 all by himself, while a huge naval force converges on the island. wounded sawyer will fall to his knees as he has just witnessed the death of the only person he truly love, but never had the chance to tell her. i know it sounds lame, but how badass would it be for Sawyer, the one man that everyone hated, to be the one that makes it through this whole ordeal, a changed man. i really hope that it is not sawyer. jack is boring, and would prefer to see sawyer jelous than jack. i cant believe i am talking about LOST as if it were a goddam soap opera.
Tim, I love it when the underdog wins. It makes you feel that much more cool, because you rooted for them from the beginning.
Ralph, Lost isn't a soap opera, but it is dramatic, so you have to expect stuff like this (love triangles, etc). Also, sometimes you just have give the audience what they want.
People like stories with ongoing sexual tension, because it makes them keep watching; they HAVE to know whats going to happen. Take Ross & Rachel for example. Sure, 10 years is a looong time to drag it out, but still. It's not pandering, it's "strategorizing".
Oh, and by the way Ralph, I thought I was the only person on the planet who liked Mr. Show! I only have the first 2 DVD volumes; are there any more out yet?
I'm watching 1x04 (Walkabout) while I'm sorting some reports and stuff, and something caught my ear. When Locke, Kate, and Michael go boar hunting, and the boar charges them, Locke gets knocked down. As he's coming to, he starts to get up, he looks at his legs, tries to move them, and does, and he says, "I'm fine.....I'm fine Helen..."
The way it came off to me was that he kind of had a mental relapse in this moment. Could this be some part of the overall story arch for Locke's paralysis? Do you think that Helen was involved in it somehow? This scene makes me think that it could.
In pre-rebuttal of those who would say that since it happened in season 1, they didn't know what they were going to do at this point:
Damon & Carlton said they don't present something they don't already know the answer to, so the moment they decided Locke would be in a wheelchair, they had to have decided why and how.
So even with this being Season 1 (and early season 1, at that), I think that already knew how it happened, and now I'm becoming convinced that Helen was there.
I too miss Lost, and Season One Locke. Although, I hear that Terry O'Quinn also misses Season One Locke.
Nightmares and Dreamscapes airs on Wednesdays here, but the Ron Livingston one was last week. I just didn't get a chance to watch it until last night. It was pretty interesting, but I won't spoil anything in case you're going to get a chance at it later.
Mr. Show is one of my favorites ever. I have every season on DVD, but now they're coming out with an all-encompassing box set. If you like it, Aimee, you should totally watch Run, Ronnie, Run.
Ben - i watched Monster House and Lady in the Water. I liked Lady in the Water, but guessed everyones role. I thought Monster House was good once they started fighting the house. I found the first half boring.
Aimee - I am sure they knew from day one what happened to Locke. I am sure they don't have a plan for everything but they would be dumb to not have planned how that happened to one of the main main chacters. So maybe he was trying to get Helen back, and some freak thing happened, Like Saywer speeding away from a con and hits locke while crossing the street to see her again.
I also love Mr. Show. I try to describe it as America's Monty Python, cause its the same story telling, each scene comes from the scene before.
and on a side note. Good job to all of us for talking to each other. Mid-Summer no Lost in site and each of these topics have been close to 100 posts. GO US!
LOST EXPERIENCE TO REVEAL MEANING BEHIND MYSTERIOUS NUMBERS: 4 8 15 16 23 42
A quote from the release:
"As promised, the alternate reality game Lost Experience continues to divulge answers related to mysteries on "Lost." Currently in phase three of five of the interactive challenge, the meaning behind the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42, which play a significant role on the television series, will be revealed."
AND
"[P]articipants should not assume that clues and story content will be limited to the online world. Any and every platform has the potential to contain hidden secrets."
Sounds too exhaustive for me. I'll just wait for someone to post the results. Any takers?
If you have been following the game they talk about the Valenzetti equation that was bought by Hanso, because it can predict the end of the world. My money would be on the numbers having something to do with it. Maybe a crutal section of the equation.
They are doing soemthing kinda cool right now. That site that Rachel told about at the Comic-Con is used to piece together another Orentation Video, It talks about how Dharma was Formed i think. They also said what Dharma stood for.
you know my name? sounds lame. i am not a huge fan of the bond songs. they are all there to sell the cds.
i forgot, there was a new orientation film at comic con. it was marvin candle (with use of both arms) talking about 3 phases that we were all going to undertake.
I found the puzzles at a barnes and noble. The other topics were The Others, The Numbers, and Before the flight. none of the boxes show the complete puzzle. They are 1000 pieces each. So far, the hatch puzzle has a giant dharma logo in the center, then branching out to pics of desmond, the books, the records, a close-up of the geronimo jackson cover, what seems to be part of the blast door map, locke's drawing of the map on the page of a book, and close ups of the timers in normal and "i TOLD you to push the button" modes. There is some other stuff, but I cant remember the rest of it.
Hey Mike (and anyone else who's trying), How are getting along with hansoexposed.com? It's fucking insane! I've managed to input a load of fragments (that i robbed off someone else) and it shows you clips of a Mittelwerk interview film, which gives you snippets of info, but still, it has the same Orientation film music, etc.
I'm wondering if, when the producers said,"Anyone can play the Lost Experience, you need no prior knowledge of Lost" whether they actually meant: anyone can play it, Lost fan or otherwise, but that Lost people would get benefit from the clues found. But, because the UK aren't quite up to speed, they didn't want to spoil anything for them, therefore making it universally accessible. That means there probably won't be a big pay off as far as explanation of the numbers/ conclusion to phase 3 of the game until at least another 11 weeks (which is roughly when the season finishes).
I apologise if that didn't make any sense, i'm hungover and still a little drunk, and it made my brain ache trying to make it English.
Personally, they won't spoil me, because i've been cheeky and seen all of season 2 already, but it is an interesting thought. The tabloids and trashy magazines love to be able to come up with spoilerific junk all the time. I wonder if ABC has put a silencer on all press about exactly what they're allowed to print. Slightly fascistic way to look at things, but it'll mean no-one can know more than they're supposed to - the common ground being the 'Experience' which kind of links everybody together, giving them information that is extra to what we know, and a revelation to those just catching up...
I'm going through season 1 again, and I'm beginning to realize how much I miss the old Locke.
I wonder if all the talk about it could result in a renewal of that character. Based on their discussion at the Lost panel, they have been influenced by viewer reactions.
Since I've been so busy reading Lost books, I haven't watched any episodes. However, it's turned out to be quite nice, because when you watch them over and over again, they begin to lose meaning. It's nice to wait a while then go back and watch them; almost as good as watching them for the first time.
Tim - I don't know how many of the codes you have but
http://members.aol.com/mattthepale/fragments.html
That site has them all. Its pritty cool trying to figure out what goes where. Then i learned that they have a player where you can watch them back to back. I think its the best part of the experence so far.
Aimee - I think we will get the old Locke back because he reliezed he was right all along. He was losing faith because what he thought he was doing was all in vain. But now that he found out he was wrong, that should cause a rennual of faith, and bring back Bad Ass Locke. I can even see him putting together a group to go get Jack, Kate and Sawyer
Nice one Mike - i did have the codes up to date but it's nice to know where to look when more become available. I have been hunting to see if i could find some myself, on Sublymonal for example, but couldn't find anything - i'll just wait and see what everybody else comes up with!
Thought while watching 1x10 (Raised by Another) - Did we ever discuss the fact that both the pregnant women in the show were impregnated by artists? I know it's not a big deal, just another common factor between characters.
There was one thing I noticed right off the bat, that I know doesn't mean anything, but gave me an idea anyway.
When they first showed Thomas on screen, for some reason I thought of Henry Gale, and a slight resemblance. Seeing as how everyone is connected, plus the fact that this guy's artwork eerily resembles the work in the Swan station, could there be a connection?
I still flippin wonder why the art work looks so similar. It could be just a mistake, they used the same artist, but i would hope its something more. But the hatch might be out of comission so we might never know
but it would be funny if they didn't remember who they hired to paint the pictures in the first season then acidently re-hired them for the mural. First day on set Damon and Carlton look at the mural and are like "Fuck"
alright folks, ben ryan and i are going to get together tonight and record our comic con podcast. i was really hoping that craig would put up some new stuff, but i am going to lose the information from my brain if i wait too much longer.
it all depends on how fast i can edit it. the last episode of dharmalars was a mess, it was a 2 hour record that got cut down to 1 hour and 8 minutes. that was about 9 hours of work for me, not to mention the work that ryan had to put in with making sure the levels were good and adding music. so hopefully by this weekend.
in the meantime, i will put up the footage of my question to the panel. i looked at it right now, and it turned out really good. i actually dont remember a lot about being up at the mic, but the answers were good, and i got daniel dae to talk. so that will be up later tonight!!
i will put that video footage up here and over at the dharmalars myspace page,so keep your eyes peeled!
Ralph, I totally understand you not being able to remember being up at the mic; in one of my prior jobs, I used to give briefings on an almost daily basis. Afterward, I would partially black out, and not remember half the stuff I briefed.
Unlike you, the largest crowd I ever spoke in front of was a few hundred people. But some of them were generals, so that should count for a couple extra.
I'm up to 1x15(Homecoming), and Scott just died. Or Steve. No, wait, Hurley just said, "Dude, that was Scott."
It's Scott that died. I always remember with a little rhyme. "Steve is aleeve." Of course, I'm referring to him being alive, not Aleve the popular pain reliever. And of course, it's possible that I'm wrong since the characters have a real Rosencrantz and Guildenstern style interchangeability.
So, I watched our favorite show again last night. Nightmares and Dreamscapes. This episode featured Tom Berenger. All I could think of during it was, "I can't wait for this mini-series to be over, so I don't have to watch it any more." Seriously, I am done. So often it's just a waste of my time for about an hour (less since I have a DVR) and there's rarely a point to the stories. It's just some stuff that happens. WHOOPDE-DE-DOO!
I forgot to tape our favorite show last night, but i still haven't watched the two from last week. I should play catch up. Ben don't quit. We must stick with the crappy show :)
Ralph, you know nothing of how I work. Mike is right, I won't quit. I'll watch all eight episodes of this show, just because I decided to. And I'll make snarky comments all the way!
I still have an episode left over from yesterday. I can't wait to see what new and interesting directions of crappiness it will take.
Hey, I was looking at the Simpsons Movie release date and I wonder: will they show it next year at ComicCon???? BECAUSE IF THEY DO...
yeah, they should be there. shit even the kevin smith panel was a day after the release of his film.
DUDES, where is craig? i miss that guy. i wish that he would put up some sort of short podcast where he just bullshits for a while.
i am bored, and now that comic con is over, there is absolutly NO LOST until september 5th, when the dvd for season 2 comes out. i will probably get the set a week before it comes out, so ben and i can review it for you guys ahead of time.
alright, i am done for the day, i will be back tonight to post the Comic Con footage of me asking my question. This way you will be able to hear DDK actually talk.
Ralph, since you know much about movies, what do you think of Michael Mann's films? I am looking foward to miami vice and I really enjoyed Collateral ( very good...for tom cruise 's work ), so I ask: What is your opinion?
i have not seen many of michael manns films. i have seen collateral and really enjoyed it. the only other mann film that i have seen is Last Of The Mohicans. i enjoyed both of those films. i am looking forward to Miami Vise, it looks like a lot of fun, and have heard some really good things about it. stevi seems to be totally against it, but is going to see it. this is the same situation that happened with bad boys II and she liked that movie. so lets hope that michael mann delivers, and stevi can enjoy it. i just wish they didnt play that damn linkin park song during the trailer, i cant stand them!
Did anyone see "Who wants to be a Superhero" Cause it was pritty funny. The people on it are all really crazy. They did a little intro to everyone and one guy said "I want to be a superhero because i made mistakes in my life. I used to be an Exotic Dancer and my Daughter doesn't talk to me." I don't know why but i started laughing for a good five minutes. Then they had to do a task which was get changed without anyone seeing them then run to the finish line. But close to the finish line there was a little child screaming "help, i lost my mommy" and only four of the "heros" helped her. They all suck. But yeah even though i just explained the whole thing you should check it out. Very FUnny

YEAH RALPH - been waiting on pins and needles, i can't wait!!!!!!!!!
YOU ARE RALPH!
Can someone please send me a life-size poster of this image???
i will do what i can aimee! i have so many stories! if i were all of you, i would keep your eyes peeled for jay and jack's vidcast!!! we recorded the whole lost panel, minus the stuff they showed on the video moniters. i did end up asking a question, but it was not what you may have expected. i decided to ask nicely, due to some people before me BLASTING the second season. i sort of felt bad. there was also the unfortunate event in which Carlton Cuse revealed that we have something in common. it devistated me to no end. watching carlton and damon interacting in person is a whole different ball of wax, it seems that they pull their BS to make each other feel uncomfortable. everyone in attendance felt the same way. i am not going to go listen to their podcast, but i do feel that they are not as bad as they seem. but they still kind of suck. more to come tomorrow. keep an eye on the dharmalars myspace page.
I await all this with quite a vbit of excitement. Well done sir.
Nice picture, Ms Aimee :)
thats cool ralph, glad to hear they are not total jerks. Darn video podcasts, for some reason my computer has declaired war on the new quicktime and will not install it. its the weirdest thing ever. but i can use my girlfriend's computer i think. Glad it hear it was good times!
I'm curious of a few things now, Ralph. First, what do YOU have in common with "Carltunt", and second, what was your question?
I'm so glad that you were able to ask one, and that was rather noble of you to hold back for the sake of CC & DL's feelings.
I will look for the vidcast & check out the dharmalars page. Can anyone disable my firewall at work so I can do it now? :(
Thanks Jimmy. I figured it was time to take off the glasses.
If CC & DL act that way, and it was visible to the audience, maybe it's not US they dislike, but each other?
Ralph said he was going to ask if Jorge Garcia thought of doing his own podcast. thats what it seemed like he wanted to ask before he left.
Yes, that was his intended question, but Ralph just said that he didn't ask that, or that it "was not what you may have expected", so I'm curious to know what he did ask.
I'm off to the neurologist now...why is it that I'm so sure they will accomplish nothing? Hmm. Pessimism, I suppose.
good luck aimee well hope it went well
while waiting for the panel to start, i started to get nervous. i had come up with about 10 different questions to ask. i noticed that a lot of people were asking questions that only the creators would be able to answer, so as i was waiting in line to get on the mic, i decided that i really wanted to get jorge and daniel to answer a question, the room was filled to capacity which was more than 4,500 screaming fans, some of which included people who recognized me and ben from Dharmalars podcast (that was neat). so i decided with all the pressure, to ask an easy question.
my question was to Jorge and Daniel.
Awesome ralph, i think Cuse did that cause he feared you and wanted to get on your good side :) So we did his ralph research
sounds logical to me. only a spawn of satan would go to such lengths!
All in all, it was a great little weekend.
i swear to baby jesus that i said JORGE, when i asked my question. and i swear, if you are lying to me, i will beat you senseless!
Just because I don't know what I'm talking about, doesn't mean I'm LYING.
Wow! When are we going to hear about it?
I can't wait to get home & check out the photos on MySpace!
Ralph and I are still trying to make sure we don't hijack the SAS feed entirely, but he did mention something about maybe putting together a podcast on Tuesday. Ideally we'll do one that goes with our photos so we can share them all at once.
I haven't been this excited since Lost was still in-season. Kudos to Ralph & Ben for keeping the SaS alive.
Its great to hear from you guys about this weekend. Can't wait for the podcast!!
Do you guys have a favorite moment from the weekend? or are you keeping hush hush till the podcast?
I think they're holding out for the podcast; they're only feeding us appetizers on the blog.
darn them and all the power! aimee we must unite and make a group for those of us who don't go cool places. and then we can talk about how sitting on the couch for a few hours is cool...
OK...
North by Northwest for life, yo.
ben, the only cue that i like from gladiator, is "the Battle", which i found out later to sound practically identical to Holtz' "Mars". so i would rather listen to that. i think that the Zimmer scores to Ridley Scott films, ie gladiator, do not use the use of additional composers.
I still listen to that a lot. and the Suite from Forrest Gump, but i am a hack at knowing anything about soundtracks
wait not soundtracks, their score :)
there is some footage from the lost panel that Jay and I shot. Check it out at jayandjack.com! that should tide you over until i can get our podcast out
That's cool that Jay & Jack got to each ask a question, and even cooler that Jorge asked them out on a date. I'm so jealous!
sweet can't wait to check it out!
MISTER SHOW IS AMAZING. That movie was a decent spin off
better than most comedies we get today.
I'm so bored! I finished my weekly reports and it's only Tuesday. I'm going to have nothing to do for the rest of the week.
I finished my book, so I have nothing to do for the next hour; I'm tired of playing Minesweeper..
By the way, I'll have you know I've now finished 30 out of the 34 books in the Lost library!
I have a theory -
I think the healing powers of the Island are going to start to fade away because of desmond switching the key. I think it will start with locke losing his legs again like when they were close to the plane. Then that episode will give us the flashback of how he lost use of his legs.
Just a theory
it is the way that he make fun of his fans.
Notahowiefan:
I know for a fact Ralph likes sarcastic, funny people.
Mike Campbell:
Great Lost theory. It certainly be an interesting development to the show. How would they face the challenge of once again being afflicted? What would they do to bring the healing powers of the island back? Would Locke feel compelled to make a sacrifice to the island?
Nick:
Looking forward to the pic. It sounds better than the usually puzzle subject matter of "kittens in a basket" and "Dora the Explorer."
Sayten, it looks like another excuse for Sawyer to NOT have sex with Kate...again. Hopefully Michael will come back and shoot her too.
WHAT?!?! isn't that the species chick. why can't they cast little known actors, its not like having names like "Michelle Rodriguez" and her boost ratings. It has a loyal fan base. Silly lost!
lets play Natasha Henstridge, indian companion!
jay was funny. when i came back to the table he was laughing ,and told me that it was staying in. it just goes to show you how crazy things can get at comic con.
remember craig?
You like would-be-doctor types?
aimee, i felt the same way about tom cruise, but i thought he was awesome in magnolia, collateral, war of the worlds and MI:3. i still dont like his old stuff. he is a psycho in real life, but i have been more forgiving of his movies of late.
i heard that there is yet another LOST casting anouncement over at www.darkhorizons.com . these people have to be "others" or posibly some sort of task force of Penny's.
ralph,
Did they elaborate any on how much we'll see Penny next season?
no. they did say some cool stuf though
Kate would make her choice between sawyer an jack within the first 6 episodes of season 3.
the monster is not nano technology
clones will never be mentioned on the show, ever.
the hieroglyphics stand for "underworld"
byran burke mentioned a lot of new faces will show up in season 3.
season 3 will be the return of the adventure aspect that was part of season 1.
so much more to talk about. i will watch the panel again on my video camera and try to record with ben before the week is up.
Jorge Garcia got the biggest cheer of all, which was awesome.
....we'd get along fine then Aimee, i'm always the underdog! (but i always win in the end!)
....generally, not always - didn't want to come across to arrogant!
....we'd get along fine then Aimee, i'm always the underdog! (but i always win in the end!)
jay said that part 2 should be up around monday. i cant remember if damon said one or the other. i would really like to see kate start to hook up with jack. i have this theory that Sawyer will be the only one left on the island when all is said and done.
i have this image in my head of sawyer standing near the wreckage of 815 all by himself, while a huge naval force converges on the island. wounded sawyer will fall to his knees as he has just witnessed the death of the only person he truly love, but never had the chance to tell her.
i know it sounds lame, but how badass would it be for Sawyer, the one man that everyone hated, to be the one that makes it through this whole ordeal, a changed man.
i really hope that it is not sawyer. jack is boring, and would prefer to see sawyer jelous than jack.
i cant believe i am talking about LOST as if it were a goddam soap opera.
Show! I only have the first 2 DVD volumes; are there any more out yet?
yeah they are all out. i recommend Run Ronny Run, as i think i mentioned that title 27 times in 10 seconds on that video podcast.
Yeah, that's what made me think of it. I haven't watched them in a long time. I should probably break them out.
Mike, going back to your theory on Locke:
This was also the first time Locke says "Don't tell me what I can't do!" Sigh...I miss Lost.
Sorry Wesh! I think you can still see some of the episodes on ABC.com; I'm not sure if they've taken them off yet or not.
WoW i missed a lot.
GO US!
i just recieved a text message from ryan saying that the meaning of the numbers will be revealed on the LOST game.
not sure what that means, but its worth checking out.
Any takers?
Click on my name to access the ABC press release!
Ralph - i am sure you have seen this but i found it interesting.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=15687
you know my name? sounds lame. i am not a huge fan of the bond songs. they are all there to sell the cds.
i forgot, there was a new orientation film at comic con. it was marvin candle (with use of both arms) talking about 3 phases that we were all going to undertake.
CLICK HERE for that numbers link.
what were the phases
I found the puzzles at a barnes and noble. The other topics were The Others, The Numbers, and Before the flight. none of the boxes show the complete puzzle. They are 1000 pieces each. So far, the hatch puzzle has a giant dharma logo in the center, then branching out to pics of desmond, the books, the records, a close-up of the geronimo jackson cover, what seems to be part of the blast door map, locke's drawing of the map on the page of a book, and close ups of the timers in normal and "i TOLD you to push the button" modes. There is some other stuff, but I cant remember the rest of it.
Hey Mike (and anyone else who's trying),
How are getting along with hansoexposed.com?
Tim, I'd forgotten about that (the UK is behind in Lost time); I wonder if they'll end up spoiling you, or what.
Mike, I hope you're right!
Thanks Ralph, when will it be up for us?
it all depends on how fast i can edit it. the last episode of dharmalars was a mess, it was a 2 hour record that got cut down to 1 hour and 8 minutes. that was about 9 hours of work for me, not to mention the work that ryan had to put in with making sure the levels were good and adding music. so hopefully by this weekend.
in the meantime, i will put up the footage of my question to the panel. i looked at it right now, and it turned out really good. i actually dont remember a lot about being up at the mic, but the answers were good, and i got daniel dae to talk. so that will be up later tonight!!
i will put that video footage up here and over at the dharmalars myspace page,so keep your eyes peeled!
Sweet Deal can't wait. Can you make it something other then the new quicktime? My computer hates the new Quicktime :)
i was going to toss it up on you tube, than put it up on the blogspot.
The internet is not a big truck!
It's a series of tubes.
Making fun of the crappy show is the best part. Have fun tonight recording the new show!
yeah, they should be there. shit even the kevin smith panel was a day after the release of his film.
L8ER SK8ERS!
Very FUnny
