Didn't think about this - good observation (though I wouldn't put it under the category of "THEORIES" and I doubt this is how the series will END) :

Walt Has Already Told Us The Ending to Lost

scrdmnkydst said...

I don't think that that is going to be the end of the series, but the beginning of season 6.. They'll have seen the body of Locke, and then realised that the Locke in the Statue isn't who he appeared to be... then they'll want to hurt him.

Hey guys just got an email a little while ago and en route to me is
"a message in a bottle with a USB drive containing instructions to access approximately five (5) minutes of the LOST Season 5 finale and a portion of the first episode of LOST Season 6, with an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of $25.00."

YAY!
All the secrets will be mine.

I'll let you guys know/ share pics once the eagle lands.

PalmerEldritch said...

brad, that is awesome. awesome but spoilery. you should e-mail everything you see to MB so he and Mac can get a head start on spoilers.

i'd love to hear about it "in general terms" here though. ya know, non-spoilery.

although, if i had won the contest, you can bet i'd watch it.

PalmerEldritch said...

oh. and MB's spoiler SPLOG in case anyone is in need of some spoilers.

and, for brad, is it dorky that i want to know what the USB thing looks like? non-descript, LOST decals, etc?

answer: yes. yes, it is dorky that i want to know that.

Brad said...

as soon as it arrives I'll take pics of the usb itself and put spoiler free info online.

I may just have to do a mini podcast with a full spoiler-free and super-spoiled breakdown... because I'm shameless like that.

Steph...do you really like Human Target that much? I watched the first one, and wasn't all that impressed.

I'm about 10 minutes into the second ep, and so far, no changes for me.

scrdmnkydst said...

yeah, but Human Target was amazing. Maybe your canadianosity means that you just didn't see how amazingly awesome it was...

memphish said...

I've watched 2 Human Targets and I'm not loving it. Each episode has had a particularly cool action element, but I just don't feel it from Mark Valley. Chi McBride is over-acting or something as well. Hubby wants to like it, but I'd be willing to bet it will be off our schedule within 3 weeks.

Human Target isn't really meant to over-stimulate your brain. It's a big budget action movie in weekly episodic form. I've watched the first two eps. And it meets exactly what it sets out to accomplish. It's fun, things get intense, and stuff blows up. And on the plus side, it's writing isn't terrible. That said, I'm not sure it will stay in my weekly rotation long term. As I tend to usually be drawn to more serialized shows. Human Target reminds me a lot of Burn Notice. Former spy type with band of friends making cash by protecting the inocent and having a crazy adenture of the week. Well done and fun, and I can most certainly enjoy a fun 40 min with both. But neither really grab a hold of me like something like Breaking Bad of Sons of Anarchy. Both underwatched, excellent shows that I highly recommend, btw. BB especially. I am going to continue pounding that drum until people wake up and recognize. ;)

And Kirk, Here is a pic of what the LOST bottle and usb key looks like.

scrdmnkydst said...

i wonder how much those bottles are going to go for on eBay. Not that i want to buy one, just that it's going to be a pretty valuable collector's item.

Jordan said...

What is the white thing in the bottle? A giant Dharma cigarette?

PalmerEldritch said...

that USB key is awesome.

Human Target is an old skool action adventure show from the 80s or 90s on steroids. two episodes in and it's fun and funny. which are more than can be said about some shows on my DVR (i'm looking at you Heroes... and watching for some reason).

but, yeah, it's not very thought provoking or life changing. just dumb fun done well.

so, i wouldn't put it up against LOST or BSG. but it's "peers" are probably more along the lines of the new Knight Rider. and Human Target is a LOT better than that.

PalmerEldritch said...

Dharma Machine Rolled Wacky Weed, jordan.

Nah, it's some sort of note. I think.

So - we do not know the exact date for the searies finale correct?

It sounds like there are supposed to be 15 weeks of episodes (2 hr. premiere, 13 eps., and then a 2 hr finale), but I'm not sure. I'm checking all my usual sources but not coming up with anything firm and in print for the actual LAST episode.

I ask b/c I'm wanting to start planning for being in Vegas with y'all (whoever can make it).

scrdmnkydst said...

2 hour premiere + 13 episodes + 2 hour finale? That in total makes 17 episodes?

Am I wrong in thinking that last year it was announced that there was going to be another episode added, so they could squeeze more in?

That would make 18 episode all together! :D

scrdmnkydst said...

also, i don't think the finalé's date has been announced yet, probably due to the break for the Winter Olympics.

Been flying around the eastcoast the past few days haven't had time to come online. The weather in NY is shit today so I'm stuck in my room reading stuff online and watching stuff on my laptop.

Daytime TV = X3.

The worst ep of Lost is "SOS". I would gladly sit through "Stranger in Strange Land" numerous times rather than watch "SOS" another time.

Thanks Holli! I had just sat through the 4 eps of 24 on my laptop and was trying to place the assassin dude the whole time. I did not realize it was Horrace.

On a related note, it's really weird that Freddie Prinze Jr. and especially Starbuck are on 24 now.

Lastly, Pres, the Saints did not win last night. The Vikings lost!

I like the Saints cuz they got Drew Brees (ex-Charger), but I was really hoping it would be Favre/Manning in the Super Bowl. Now I hope the Saints win it.

It just hit me that Lost is gonna be on Tuesdays. Is that not weird to anyone else? Or have you guys already had a discussion about this.

It's probably better this way. Listening to podcasts from wed-fri, then weekend. Sadly no MNF so I guess watch 24, HIMYM and Big Bang Theory. Then Lost is back on. That's pretty good actually.

Seriously with shows switching days and times all the time and with me rarely watching shows live, I really don't know what day anything is on.

WTF is gonna happen to Scrubs? Isn't that on Tuesdays now? What day was V on? I think FF was on Thurs.

Props to whoever created programing your DVR to just record the new episodes of the series whenever it's on.

Stephanie said...

Tuesdays are perfect for me. Because of guitar lessons, there's no chance of me having to work! Being sent to the ER during Lost is a pain in the ass. If you don't watch uninterrupted you don't get the full enjoyment.

t-dot kim said...

I can't believe LOST is almost here...soon it will be gone. I wish it was on Wednesday or Thursday. Tuesday seems too early. I associate watching LOST with getting past the hump of the work week, and smooth sailing into the weekend.

I agree with Kim re Lost being too early in the week, but I prefer it on Tuesday than Thursday. Mainly because at least you got different podcasts to get you through the week while the episode is still fresh. It's kind of fake listening to podcasts re Thursday's episode on Monday or Tuesday. Wow, I really sound like a geek.

Anyway, hopefully Kim and Aimee still do the Live show on a weekday. The live show was cool and made the work week more enjoyable.

Also, I got home from my flight at the end of Pop Up Video Lost.

scrdmnkydst said...

I don't know why people are complaining about Lost being on Tuesdays... There's never anything good on tv, in the US at least, on a Tuesday.

Breaks up the monotony, innit. And it's got much less competition as well.

memphish said...

I like Tuesdays exactly because there's nothing on on Tuesday's as Ryan said. But it does have a weird feel about it.

Kid...really? I HATE doing the live shows on ustream. I'd rather just record the podcast and have you guys listen to it. Aimee and I go on for hours about nonsense--I personally think you'd find it boring. (But that's just me)

LOST airing on Tuesday, may not be as bad as I originally thought. Aimee and I are planning on recording our podcast on Wednesdays, that way I can edit (at work, lol) on Thursdays. However, if Wednesday don't work, it could be Saturdays before we can record...and that mean my procrastination my not get the podcast up until Mondays...*sigh*

We'll see.

I didn't watch the Pop-up video version of "The Incident", it's on my PVR. I think I may watch it this weekend if I don't go out.

scrdmnkydst said...

Kim's lying.

She doesn't hate doing live streaming because she thinks we'd get bored after an hour... it's mainly because she gets too distracted by the chat too much.

Personally, I love the live streaming.

Steph are you kidding? Wrestling is the biggest sport?

Check the rating of the Saints/Vikings game.

If you add up every wrestling show in every company for the month of January, it will still not be more than that one game.

I think it probably goes
Football
MMA
Basketball
Baseball
Then maybe Pro Wrestling
Then Hockey and Nascar, etc.

I would be shocked if World Cup soccer doesn't do a good ratings for ESPN this summer.

I watched the RAW where Bret Hart came back. Other than the opening segment and the last segment the show was boring as hell.

andrew. said...

i watched most of that dumbhanced airing of The Incident. I don't know how cannon those pop-ups are. It seems more like an ABC intern making guesses or cribbing from Lostpedia.

some interesting ones.
- they said the statue is of Taweret
- they said that Illana was in the hospital recovering from an accident. I know i'd seen people guess that she had some disease, like leprosy.
- they hammered home the point of Jacob touching people in the flashbacks & that somehow being related to their ending up on the island.

Herlz, speaking of airport looking after. I asked this chick to watch my bags for a minute. She smiled at me and nodded. Taking this as a sign of acceptance, I reply thanks and rush off.

I return to find my stuff unattended and the chick nowhere to be found. Later I see her on my flight and she ended up sitting next to me. As I put my stuff away I thought, man if I don't call her out on this right away it's gonna be really awkward for me the entire flight (why would I bring it up mid flight). Whatever.

So I basically found out she speaks really little English. Still I had pointed to my bags. I don't get how you could not understand. This super reminded me of when Screech asked that dude to hold his place in line to go ask Zack what kind of tickets he should get.

I think Seasons 4-5 (5 in particular) will be better appreciated after a little time - like with Season 2. I know it seems to be many people's least favorite, but when you look at the plot elements and characters that were introduced in S2, it's pretty hard to imagine the show without them (like Ben or the DI). A lot of s**t went down in S2, and a lot went down in S5.

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Kyle from Kentucky said...

Stephanie -

The first time through S4 and S5 you know there were great moments but I pretty much thought they sucked. But on the rewatches I think I was wrong. Season 1 and 2 are 2 seasons I loved the first time and every time. And I know most people don't think that about season 2 but come on now Mr. Eko, Desmond, Henry Gale, Dharma, - great stuff. Season three was shitty at the beginning and middle but the latter half of it was so great it was fantastic.

But on S4 and S5 after rewatching them I liked them both much more than initially. In S4 I eventually really liked the freighter stuff and the new characters introduced sans Faraday/Charlotte. Frank Lapidus is great. Plus the on island stuff was pretty damn good. The Oceanic 6 and especially the Jack/Kate love episodes were god awful. Then in S5 the on island stuff was great for a while, I liked Dharma but it started to get old, 2007 stuff was incredible. But of course the O6 stuff up until 316 was awful as usual, but Ben made it a lot better. Then Jack's motivation for the bomb was AWFUL but whatever. I don't want to complain about every little thing this year.

Plus I give the writers some props for finishing S4 up in a strike shortened season pretty well.

That being said I have huge expectations for S6 and if I am disappointed it will suck. Won't change my opinion of the show but will really suck.

I am much more interested and invested in the character arcs of Hurley, Jin, Sun, Jack, er Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Desmond, Ben, Claire, etc etc - people I have gotten to know for a long time than I am say of Miles or Illana. Please don't introduce a bunch of new characters and give them 5 flashback episodes.

Already posted this on the Twitter, but I figure I'd put it here as well, as it's so great, Better Off Ted, a show people here should've been watching, cuz it's great, but is likely to not get renewed due to average america giving it the Arrested Development treatment, hilarious show, too funny, this clip is of unaired outtakes from an episode about vulgarities in the workplace, the funny thing about it is in the ep itself being on ABC and all they used very tame PG rated insults, not so in this video.

/not about periods or sentence structure right now

Jordan said...

And that video was great Steph. Those guys that do the Lost action figure videos are very talented.

THAT SAID, I don't care about 90% of the "questions" they mentioned. So many little mysteries or strange happenings have happened on the show and really, if you think about it, don't need to be explained. A lot of the stuff can simply be chalked up to, "whoa, that was weird." There obviously is some major stuff that needs to be addressed, and will. I just need to prepare myself for an all new level of annoyance when all the nerd gerblers spaz out about not knowing the origin of the Hurleybird or why exactly a ton of inconsequential crap happened. All I care about is they tell a good story and give a satisfying conclusion. I myself am not analyzing some grand math equation, expecting it to make be solved perfectly and with no irregularities. NERDS! SIGH.
